The Best Hotels in New Orleans — and Where to Eat Nearby

"Built as a contemporary counterpart to its sister hotel Columns, I appreciated Henrietta's clean, practical interiors — many featuring washer-dryer access, Smeg refrigerators and large windows — which make it especially suited to long stays; families or small groups can book connected rooms that open onto a shared balcony. Decor includes art discovered in Columns' attic, and the rare new-build prioritizes airy rooms and outdoor space with views of the Garden District and even the Mardi Gras processions down St. Charles." - The MICHELIN Guide

37 New Key Hotels in the U.S. — Ecstatic Design and a Dolphin-Watching Retreat

"Located in New Orleans’ Garden District, this Belle Époque–Art Deco property feels both historic and elegant with details like a marble reception and inverted parquet ceilings, and it transitions from café to cocktail lounge to suit different moods." - The MICHELIN Guide

The Best New Happy Hours in New Orleans

"Hotel Henrietta made a splash upon debuting in Spring 2024 for being a second place in town to snag the wildly popular Flour Moon Bagels — fans can get their bagel, schmear, and tartine fix every day from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Now the chic hotel also has happy hour specials in its stylish lounge (anything designed by Farouki Farouki is a stunner). Deals on cocktail and wine are available from 3 to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday, including $9 espresso martinis, clarified milk punch, and more." - Eater Staff

Hotel Henrietta (New Orleans, Louisiana) 2 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"New Orleans might just have more character than any other city in the United States. Not every hotel in town lives up to the city’s legendary reputation, but the Henrietta has personality to spare. It’s a new build, and a strikingly modern one at that, at least from the outside — but look closer and you’ll see it’s packed with references to classic NOLA architecture, from the arched colonnade on the ground floor to the galleries on the upper floors." - Tablet Hotels

We stayed at Hotel Henrietta for a family visit and loved it. The room was spacious, beautifully designed and comfortable, with great views from the balcony overlooking St. Charles Avenue. We enjoyed the coffee shop with excellent breakfast in the morning, and drinks in the gorgeous lobby before dinner. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Details that showed care included the Le Labo bath products. We also appreciated the great water pressure in the shower - nothing beats a good, hot shower after a long day of travel! We will stay here again.

Recently stayed here and loved it. The hotel is EXTREMELY clean. The staff is lovely. Two girls in the front making coffee Saturday morning were amazing. Coffee bar was awesome. Drinks on Friday night were fabulous. They make a great pimms cup! We got an upgrade with the point app. Amazing balcony. Only thing I did not enjoy was no valet and limited parking. That did not deter from our awesome time. Will be coming back.

I can't say enough great things about this beautifully designed hotel. As a designer, I am very particular about where I stay. The location is awesome - directly on St. Charles Avenue close to Tulane University, Audubon Park, and tons of great restaurant and bars. The in-room bath products are Le Labo (!), and the hotel staff is super friendly. You don't even have to leave the gorgeous lobby to get great coffee and breakfast. I recommend this hotel to all my friends and fam who visit New Orleans.

I'm a local and have never stayed at the hotel; however, I do frequent the coffee bar. Larry made an oat milk lavender matcha for me yesterday that I thought about long after I had finished it. I also woke up thinking about it. lol I won't make it by this week for another one, but I want management to know that Larry is an absolute gem of a person and is very talented! He is the only person that will have me driving across town to a hotel I'm not staying at... in a city I live in... pay to park if I can't park free... for a latte. Talent, honey. - So much love from danielle and Jazz!

We were looking for a hotel outside the French Quarter but still in a walkable neighborhood for a long vacation weekend, especially the Garden District and "uptown". The Henrietta was exactly where we wanted it to be and also what we wanted it to be: unique, comfortable, with all the right (and very) cool amenities you'd expect from a boutique hotel, and near both the more touristed parts of New Orleans--and places less people visit. We'd definitely come back.

Review Update: ||Below was the original review I posted after my experience last weekend. I forwarded this review to the management to let them know and they reached out right away and asked to speak to me to learn more about my experience. They seemed quite committed to resolving these issues and have already taken steps towards that end. I did appreciate the prompt response and follow up and do feel confident that they will resolve their safety issues so I wanted to share the follow up. |||||This hotel is unsafe at night.||I travel to New Orleans quite often and was excited to try Hotel Henrietta on St. Charles opened by the owners of the Columns. First the positives; room decor is mid century modern and they are well done. The hotel has a small private parking lot behind the hotel and parking is FREE. Location is very convenient to uptown and Tulane University.||Now for the negatives; upon checking in there were technical problems with the key to one of the rooms and it took 45 minutes (at 10pm after a day of travel) to get it resolved. They ended up moving us to different rooms after our bags had been locked in a room for quite some time. Upon check in I was given tokens for a free coffee each day but only for my room and not for the other room?? These are all relatively minor things that would not motivate me to write a trip advisor review. The big concern is that there were several times when I was leaving and arriving in the late evening where there was NO ONE anywhere in the lobby, lights were off and the front door was UNLOCKED.||This is New Orleans-- to leave the lobby (and by extension the elevators) completely unsupervised at late hours is very unsafe and asking for a security incident to occur. Forget unprofessional or unorganized... this is about safety. Friday night I arrived back at 1 am and asked why the lights were completely off in the lobby. The one person there said that they turn them off at night. (what?!)|Saturday night upon arriving back at 12:30am, the only staff member (a security guard) was sitting in his car in the parking lot behind the hotel where he had no view of the front desk let alone the front door. The door was completely unlocked and again all the lights were off. I was walking into a dark, empty hotel lobby at midnight.||I felt compelled to share this experience as I am baffled and concerned about the complete lack of professionalism and prioritization of the safety of their guests. It is quite shocking to see this from the owners of the Columns. It was more like an Airbnb experience versus a hotel.

This hotel is almost complete perfection. Modern design but extremely comfortable. Balconies in I think all rooms. Great uptown location. Steps from the street car. Next door to a great wine bar and a short walk to many other restaurants and bars. The rooms are designed perfectly for travelers, the sink is outside of the bathroom and the closet is in the same area. The closet also has a few drawers in it. The fridge and bar area are also in this area. The bed is probably one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Not soft but very plush. The bedding is thick and cozy. There is a seating area in the room and several areas with hooks so you can hang things outside of the closet. The bathroom is also modern and again designed well. The shower is very large and the nozzle to turn it on is at one end and the shower head is at the other end. May sound silly but I don’t understand why most showers you need to enter before you set the water temperature, this one you do not. The water pressure is great. There is a trash can in the bathroom and by the sink and in the seating area, again for me attention to detail matters. There is a small vanity mirror in the bathroom area, very helpful. The outside deck is great but the couch is a little deep for short people to get comfortable on. My only complaint and for me it’s a big one but not enough to hurt the perfect rating, is the television. They do not have cable so you cannot watch network TV (probably not important to most but it is to me). They have streaming networks but it took a lot of effort to figure out how to log in to those and the remote was extremely finicky. Finally figured out that you had to push the home button multiple tines in order to get it to recognize the action. The lobby area is lovely with a small bar and comfortable couches and tables. There is also outdoor seating looking over St. Charles. The staff is lovely and very helpful. I think this is a beautiful hotel with great amenities and will definitely be back. Comfortable elegance is a perfect description for this hotel.

Google
Loved this place, such a nice stay. The view from my balcony overlooked downtown. My suite was so spacious like I had my own apartment with a kitchenette. This boutique hotel is a must stay!

Yelp
From the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out, our stay was 5 . The room was spacious and comfortable. The balcony added a perfect spot for coffee and streetcar watching. We try to book there every time we stay in New Orleans.

Yelp
Haven't stayed here officially, just visited a few times for Flour Moon Bagels. This is a great bagel spot in Uptown Nola! I like how the hotel also attracts locals. I went at prime time (12pm) on a Saturday, and there was no line! Will be back!

Yelp
I stopped into the bar/lounge for a happy hour drink, and the experience was cute! There's a list of $9 happy hour cocktails, and they all come crafted with seasonal flavors and accents. Our bartender was super cool and made sure to chit chat with us as well as fill us in on what to expect from the cocktail menu in upcoming weeks. The lobby/lounge area is modern chic with plenty of room to sit on comfy sofas. The space is adorned with plenty of live plants and bronze accents...it's a very chill and cozy yet grown-up feel, lol. I enjoyed it! Would love to check them out for a staycation!

Yelp
Clean, new, comfortable, spacious, good priced, and the soaps smelled great. I was pleasantly surprised. My wife wanted to stay an extra nice and they accommodated us. Josh set us up with maybe the best room. It was a corner room in the 4th floor over looking the main street. Great space with a kitchenette area with a large fridge. No stove but a good microwave oven. They have free parking that is gated.

Yelp
This gorgeous place has not gained its notoriety yet, BUT I think they have the absolute BEST espresso martini in the city hands down. I can't wait to see it flourish

Yelp
Can't speak on the rooms, but 6$ for a flour moon plain bagel (that's 2.50$ at their shop) ..hahaha! Won't be coming back. Shame on you.

Yelp
The aesthetic is beyond the beyond. Comfort, quality, beauty, peace. The staff is friendly. Excellent lattes. But don't expect standard hospitality. We asked six different people behind the desk how to get to the airport using public transportation. Not one of them replied, "I don't know but I'll try to find out and get back to you." We got shoulder shrugs, wide-eyed looks of incredulity that anyone would ever do that, offers to call a taxi, and one person wondered if we'd heard of Uber or Lyft. (!) So take the St Charles streetcar right in front of the hotel to the 202 RTA bus leaving regularly from downtown that gets you to the airport in 30 minutes for $1.50.

Yelp
Great drinks, the French 75 was so good. Amazing staff as well! The turkey sandwich was also 10/10, will be back
