The Biggest Los Angeles Restaurant Openings in June 2025 | Eater LA

"A second-location outpost opened June 4 overlooking Big Bear Lake inside the recently reimagined Hotel Marina Riviera, boasting massive floor-to-ceiling windows that face north. The menu carries favorites from the original Arts District spot—focaccia sandwiches, whipped eggplant dip, salads, and thick, rectangular Sicilian-style pizzas—and adds items like tin fish and crackers, smoked trout dip, and rotating soft-serve flavors finished with Maldon salt and olive oil. The beverage program can produce frozen Aperol spritzes and espresso martinis for summer or ski season, and pours biodynamic and organic wines." - Mona Holmes

Beautiful hotel with lots of amenities. Rooms were clean and well equipped, and staff super friendly and helpful. Location is so convenient, right next to Big Bear Village and very walkable. The hotel has free bikes you can use as well. The restaurant attached has some great vegan options and cozy outdoor seating. My only complaint is that the walls are super thin, and the quiet hours weren’t checked, so people were pretty loud by the common areas well past midnight and kids screaming at 5AM, but that’s not the hotel’s fault just something to consider on your trip if you’re a light sleeper.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, great patio and beach area. Nonna's was a tasty surprise, a great hit for lunch with yummy adult beverage's from the bar, yes bar. Walking distance to "The Village" and the marina was super convenient. Hotel right on the water with an amazing view. Only negative's, rooms are little small for an extended stay. No in room coffee (lobby coffee sucked) for guest. We shall return!

This is a very nice property. It's very well situated on the lake. The staff is so friendly and made us feel very welcome. Only one thing, though the rooms do seem a little bit small, but other than that, everything was terrific. Especially the breakfast sandwich in the morning.

Hotel Marina Riviera blew us away with their hospitality. This was my first time in big bear, and after my stay here I can say with confidence that it will not be my last. I could have spent the entire trip in the room. The desk staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, with answers to every question and request. The rooms are clean with great views of the lake. The attached restaurant (De La Nonna) was an added bonus to our experience! We left with no complaints, and would recommend this hotel to anyone. It is very family friendly for little kids and couples alike.

We stayed for three nights durning August 2025. We happened to overlap with the Canyon Fire which was on the other side of the mountain, about 11 miles away from the resort. Overall, our stay was AMAZING! Since the hotel is recently remodeled, I was excited about staying somewhere so new. We stayed in the premium lakeside king room, so we had a fireplace that we didn’t end up using because it was August! I did turn it on for about a minute just to see how it worked, super user friendly and turns on with a remote. ||Overall, it was a wonderful stay and we will definitely be returning!||PROS |⭐️ Cannot beat the location! Right on the lake provides fantastic views (from every room!!!) and walking distance from the village means you’ll never run out of things to do. |⭐️ Cozy rooms that the designers clearly put effort and care into. I’ve stayed at many Big Bear Lake lodges and Air BnBs and this is easily the top five. From the minute you walk through the lobby to the back side your breath is taken away by the views. Simply unbelievable. The rooms are well appointed, but small. Don’t let that deter you because you have a giant backyard filled with ample seating, pool, hot tub, sauna and restaurant. I have no complaints about this place except the bathrooms are small and water pressure is weak. Beds are comfy, great decor, communal vibe and a great way to meet new people, lounge chairs outside every room to enjoy fresh coffee and soak in the beautiful lake views, a/c in each room, and the restaurant next door has delicious food (the pizza and Caesar salad was amazing). You won’t regret a stay here!

We really love how beautiful the site is! I was there years ago and we had a great time, but the renovations are amazing. It' s really the best spot in Big Bear for a trip - perfect lake spot, next to marina, and next to the village. We loved the patio and restaurant. Everyone was very nice.

Google
Went to the restaurant(De La Nonna) associated with this establishment, for some food and beer. The draft beer was very small in ounces for the price of $8.00. The food never came and we had to cancel the order. Also the menu touts to be Italian but there's no pasta, or really anything that is truly Italian on the menu. The lake view was nice... needs improvement, food and service.

Yelp
We had an absolutely wonderful experience here! I usually don't write reviews but this stay definitely warrants one. Big Bear in general exceeded our expectations, and we are so happy we chose Hotel Marina Riviera for our stay. It is perfectly located, right next to The Village, hikes, lake access for rentals like paddle boarding and kayaking and shops & restaurants. The staff throughout the stay provided amazing service. Katie at the front desk deserves a shout out! She was so kind, energetic and patient with our questions and made us feel welcome and excited for our trip. So many others in both the hotel and De La Nonna were also wonderful. The hotel has the most amazing views out back, a cold plunge, two saunas, hot tub, hotel and fire pits. We went on a couple of weekday nights and feel we got a bargain for this one of atmosphere and stay. The rooms are so cute with lake views. The only slight kink is that the walls/doors are thin and it can be noisy hearing neighbors and hotel staff. All in all, I highly recommend! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Great location right on the Lake and they have a great eatery called De La Nonna (another one in downtown LA). It opened 6/6/25 so I did my daily hike from Summit taking Town Trail to there to check it out. You can't beat the atmosphere, nice and new, right on the lake and hopefully they'll get a boat dock so you can enjoy the food when on the lake. I ordered the Whipped Eggplant with Calabrian XO sauce & grilled Focaccia $15 and it is delicious, plus they bake the Focaccia there and it's yummy! Can't wait to go back and try the individual size Pizzas and more.

Yelp
Great spot for a drink and a sunset in summer. Was able to enjoy with small children. I would recommended.

Yelp
We had a really pleasant experience staying in their deluxe cabin during Christmas 2024. The location is unbeatable, only a few minutes (like 3 mins drive) from Big Bear Old Town Village and a 5-minute walk to the lake. Plus, very close to the snow summit. The decor is so cute and super cozy! Much like a boutique hotel, it prioritizes attention to detail and tasteful design. My only complaint would be the check-in system, and the heater was pretty loud at night. Other than that, we had a great time staying there! Side note: Check in at 3pm & check out at 11am

Tully Wilkinson

Yelp
The property itself was enjoyable, but unfortunately, our experience with the staff left a bad impression. At checkout, we were told to leave our keys at the front desk. When we went to do so, no one was there--just a sign saying they'd be back soon. Since we needed to leave, we left the keys in our room instead. Later, the hotel tried to charge us for a late checkout, even though we had left about 30 minutes before the official time. When I called to clear things up, the front desk staff accused me of lying and insisted I was still there, even though I had already been gone for over an hour. The conversation was unprofessional, confusing, and needlessly rude. While the hotel itself was enjoyable, most of the staff we encountered were unfriendly, which put a sour note on the trip. We've stayed at Casseta Group hotels before and had great experiences, but this was by far the worst interaction we've had.

Yelp
First of all, there are not that many really nice hotels in Big Bear. I was there in the summer to get out of the heat in Palm Springs. It was a last minute decision and I was recommended to stay at Robin Hood resort across the street. That hotel is so tired and old and smells like smoke so I walked across the street to this hotel on the lake. Yes it's double the price but definitely well worth it. Beautiful fire pits outside right on the lake and a beautiful deck with a bar that you can sit at at night. The rooms are very clean in the linens are super nice. They have all the amenities you need although the basic room is not very big. But the best part of the stay was the front desk. A gal named Rosie from El Salvador greeted my dog and myself. She was so kind and accommodating. She gave me a ground floor level for my dog and told me if I needed anything to give her a call. The rooms may not be anything super special but the hotel has a great ambience with the fire pits outside and the deck where you can have a light meal and a really nice bar. I highly recommend it!
google avatar

Amy S.

Yelp
The views on the deck are beautiful and the restaurant has delicious food. But being a newer place, they have some improvements to make. The jacuzzi didn't work, the pool was cold and the televisions in the rooms didn't work. No one makes you aware of these issues while checking in. The room wasn't deep cleaned as promised- visible dog hair. The shower did not have hot water. Yes it was warm but not hot. Urial the Manager did his best to make amends. You also have to be aware that all rooms are available for dogs. None are designed for those without pets or for those with allergies. If you want no pets, you will need to look someplace else.
google avatar

Allie T.

Yelp
What wasn't there to love about this hotel? From the moment I walked in Bridget, the front desk receptionist, made me feel right at home. The room is absolutely stunning, the showers even better, and the view! It's practically on the water. The shops are a few minutes walking, it's across the street from the best poke spot in town, and has lounging and fire-pits available all day and night. I even got to rent a bike (free with booking) and ride to the alpine pedal path and other areas. The location is great but the hospitality and cleanliness is unbeatable. I will always stay here.

Yelp
Beautiful location. Our room had a lovely view of the lake with a small balcony and my parents on the ground floor had walk out access to the beach and pool. It was the second weekend open after the remodel and there were a couple learning curve kinks (e.g. ran out of CO2 at the bar) but no biggie and staff were super nice. The pool was COLD, but the kids didn't care and having water and towels available was a bonus.
google avatar

Lauren G.

Yelp
I was surprised to see any negative comments for this amazing hotel! It's located in the perfect spot in Big Bear (walkable to town where all the shops & restaurants are), there was plenty of free parking and the front desk staff was top notch. I found them to be extremely helpful with information and they also offer complimentary coffee & hot chocolate from a very fancy machine (not the usual hotel junk). I was very pleased with my room- was exactly like the pictures. Clean, cozy and well decorated. Bed was super comfy, curtains nice and thick to draw out light. You could slightly hear people above but I've known this to be true of most hotels and it wasn't a bother. They have a restaurant coming to the property in the near future, as well as a sauna overlooking the water. Would absolutely come back and recommend to anyone looking for the perfect big bear getaway!

Meri H.

Yelp
Location location location! This hotel has it all! Right on the lake with a sandy beach .... Very trendy and sustainable design!! We would come back and especially on the Fourth of July!! Great for families and for all generations! Finally Big Bear! Bravo

Cynthia P.

Yelp
Absolutely perfect in every way. This place seriously blew me away. Hotel Marina Riviera is exactly what you want when you think of a cozy, mountain-lake getaway. The rooms are super clean, modern yet rustic, and you can tell they've put real thought into every detail. The view from our room? Unreal. Waking up to the lake right outside your window is something else. Staff was friendly, check-in was a breeze, and the whole vibe was just... peaceful. You're close to everything -- the village, restaurants, hiking trails -- but it still feels like a private retreat. They've got fire pits, loungers, and even a sauna (yep, I took full advantage). Whether you're here for some chill time or a romantic weekend, this spot nails it. 10/10, would come back in a heartbeat.

Yelp
We stoped by to check it out. We are always staying up in big bear for the weekend . Cailey greeted us with a huge smile. Gave us the lay of the land. Decided to get a room and stay an extra night . In my 12 years in big bear she has to be the most pleasant person i have come across. Great first impression. Earned our business.

kimberly t.

Yelp
We found out when we left that this hotel had only been open for two months. They are in the perfect location. The lake view rooms (all rooms are lake view) were clean, modern and comfortable. It is evident that they trend towards a sustainable establishment, and I love that. There are some quirks and oddities though. There's not really any information like what are the pool hours and the sauna hours? You can't call down to the desk to find out because they don't have room phones. But the oddest? These toilet paper rolls that have very little paper on them, and no extra rolls in the room. The TP, is also very rough and "rustic". They also need to have internet in every room. I give them all the grace in the world because we had a great time and they are just getting going. They need a few easy tweaks, but congrats on what you are building. We'll be back

Emmy C.

Yelp
The cute cabin was right in the middle of big bear village and the lake. The room was very clean and modern. It got fireplace, kitchen and full sized refrigerator. Shower room was fine but little bit dark with plenty of towels and adequate amenities. The staff was very attentive and kind. We got a designated secured parking spot. We enjoyed our stay!

M M.

Yelp
Stayed in the cabins across the street. Really nice, kitchen, enough parking, no a/c units but just keep windows open, TV, comfortable beds. Newly renovated main hotel. Recommend
google avatar

Andy K.

Yelp
A superbly renovated pet friendly hotel which is lakeside. It's super charming and cozy. The premium king has a gas fireplace that ups the vibes in the fall/winter. The staff are very friendly and they have a cafe at the front desk that serves coffee 24/7. The automatic espresso machine and coffee they use makes cafe quality drinks and it's unlimited. The only issue are the thin walls (you can hear conversations next door and people walking by). We also couldn't get the chromecast to work. The location is prime walking distance to The Village. We spent all our time walking around the shops and resting back in the room.
google avatar

Kursten O.

Yelp
Cute hotel with tons of potential! I guess it was previously rundown so it's currently being renovated. The front isn't a whole lot to look at yet, but the rooms are darling! The lady at the front desk was super friendly and welcoming. The rooms are nicely appointed and aesthetically pleasing. The heater works beautifully. The view is so wonderful. The room was very clean. Perfect walking distance to the village. There are some things that could be improved upon. Provide full shower doors not the trendy half piece of glass so the person showering isn't panicking about all the water hitting the floor. Add those little peep hole covers to the peep hole on the back of the entry door. Add a lock on the sliding bathroom door, especially important since the door in one of our rooms didn't stay closed. And last...I'm tired after my stay. Why you ask? Because the occupants in the room directly above mine decided to, ummm, participate in some especially noisy activities from 1:15-1:45 AM. The creaky floors were the worst part of it. The noises were hearable, but the floors. Oh man. I'd totally stay here again, but I would request the top floor.
google avatar

Conor L.

Yelp
Made a booking for this place, paid, and was super excited about our stay. We turn up and the place was completely shut down, fenced off, no one was there. We tried calling, "voicemail full". No way to contact them otherwise. We were, as per their website, expecting construction. Not this. What an abysmal, incompetent business. Luckily for us the place across the road - Robinhood Resort- was very welcoming and provided great accommodations. We did get a refund because we booked through Priceline. Keep in mind, this property was still available to book through Priceline , Booking.com and its own website in the days afterward.

Yelp
This place is quite convenient if you want to walk out on to the main drag. The rooms are very updated and cozy, very clean, and right on the lake. They have a nice big parking lot that feels very safe. They have bikes that you can use for free, and the staff was very receptive to any questions or needs that we had, the only reason that I didn't stay here for the second time was because I needed a slightly bigger room for more people.
google avatar

Linda X.

Yelp
It doesn't get much better than this for renovated accommodations, a view of the lake, and a super convenient and walkable proximity to the village. My boyfriend and I have stayed there several times so it's become our go-to when we go on our Big Bear mountain adventures! We've stayed in January and February 2023 and couldn't be more impressed with the vibe, view, bedding, and cute charms of this place. The staff is family owned and super friendly. We will be back!

Ashton A.

Yelp
Me and my girlfriend absolutely adore this hotel. I stayed here probably a total of 15 nights while I was renovating my home and Big Bear. They have beautiful, clean rooms and excellent customer service. They definitely have one of the best lattes in Big Bear, that they give you complementary. I feel safe here with the well-lit parking lots and on-call staff.

Yelp
We worked on this project to get it ready for them to open, braved, the cold, and snow, and unbelievable timelines. Now we are at the end of the project is complete, and we need the owner to give me a jingle. 818-606-7541 It is vital we speak for our small family business to survive.
google avatar

Kelly W.

Yelp
I would have given it 5 stars had it not been for the flooding of the bathroom floor because of lack of shower door. Plus they wanted to charge $75 for early check in. Although this hotel has been recently renovated, it would be nice if the rooms had a mini fridge and coffee maker. Other than that, it's a beautiful hotel.

David F.

Yelp
In summary this place is mid at best. Pros: Hotel Rooms themselves are probably the nicest in Big Bear and this property is in a Great Location. Cons: Everything else. No amenities to speak of. For example a hot tub, gym, and pool. All amenities that might be added at one point in the future. The lobby has been under construction for years. Check in desk is in a temporary lobby in one of the guest rooms. Apparently daily housekeeping is not included as part of very high end room rates they charge. Hotel is not that responsive to requests.
google avatar

Armin S.

Yelp
Well, I have to say they have all the possible and impossible room to improve. Outside beautiful looking hotel... BUT: Noise isolation is at level zero. You can hear everything several rooms from you in all directions. We stayed for 2 nights and it was nightmare. We just couldn't sleep because of noise. Plus they are under construction - so imagine how's it. I went to front desk trying to explain my problem and I heard: "Sorry, your room is under the lobby, people come and go. There's nothing we can do" Very Nice! Paid $400 per night to get the comfort, but instead got a "stay" below cheapest possible motel level PS. Shower is extremely uncomfortable. Since it has no door after taking the shower the whole floor in bathroom becomes wet. Imagine how cool is it to have wet floor in winter time. PS.2 Mattress is terrible. Poorest quality. Bedding as well. Everything in room looks pretty, but in fact only pretty - lowest quality

Yelp
We had a free hotel.com room after accumulation of the past several trips we've been on - my parents decided to splurge a bit and go for a nicer room in Big Bear. I looked it up prior to our stay and, I wouldn't call this a luxury hotel, but it is on the nicer side. They charge a resort fee although I would not classify Marina Resort as a resort at all, especially in comparison to the resorts in Vegas. So this resort is located close to the Village and within walking distance of shops and eateries. Rooms are all located outside, so once you open the door you'll immediately be greeted by a parking lot or the backside of the resort. There wasn't really anything wrong with the visit per se, but I feel like what they considered to be "luxury" was just common in most other hotels. The lodge/front desk check in area - the place is decked to suit more of a winter crowd with wooden statues, wooden walls, fireplace, etc. Workers seem to be Things I enjoyed about the hotel: -the view was definitely incredible; they have the back patio area with some swings, random benches in photo opportunity spots, and even a deck leading out to the lake -the pool and entertainment features; there's a pool and jacuzzi, which we weren't able to use because there were guests in it almost all the time but having that amenity is nice. They also have a ping pong table, a large tic-tac-toe and Jenga game, and even some rackets and shuttlecocks for badminton. -free tea/coffee/water at the lodge -rooms are fairly nice and on the clean side. The decoration is very in sync with the lodge/woodsy theme. We had a two queen bed room, so the room was quite spacious. Beds were comfortable and not too firm or soft. There was heat/fan in the room, so we weren't too cold even without thicker comforters. -room came with a patio area that allowed us to overlook the lake and pool area. There's also a refrigerator and large TV. Bathroom was pretty big with one sink and lots of counterspace. -complimentary wi-fi which was pretty strong when we were in the room. Minor negatives: -staff at the check-in desk wasn't too friendly and seemed more into their own conversations. -found it strange when my family sat down to eat our BBQ in the courtyard area and another family sat down to eat pizza. The staff came out with a roll of napkins for them to use. Maybe they had requested for some extra napkins, but it would have been nice to get offered some much needed napkins. -the complimentary sweet tea in the lodge area was not good. It had an odd aftertaste that wasn't pleasant. They also clean out the drink area every night around 8 PM, so make sure you get the water/tea that you need. -no bathrooms besides the one in our room. No fitness center. tl;dr - We had an overall pleasant stay at this hotel, but I feel it's a little too much to classify the place as a resort. The place was clean and close to a lot of the shops. I wouldn't mind staying here again but only if the price is decent.

Yelp
Hands down the BEST customer service staff on the planet! Nicely appointed rooms with a great view of the lake and an easy walk to the Village. I will return..

lisa s.

Yelp
No amenities. Rude staff. Had to move rooms because the sink stopped up the first hour of being into he room and after unpacking. They are unapologetic and rude. I paid 530 for two nights (weekend) and it is not worth it at all. Go down the street to Hilton suites. Cheaper nicer new and bigger rooms. This place is a nightmare. I probably wouldn't be so upset if they acted like they cared at all. Then hours after I leave they are charging me 13 for two bottles of water. There was no sign they charged for these bottles. Most nice places provide a couple of bottles. Outrageous.

Yelp
We decided to visit Big Bear to see some snow and booked the room with two queen beds and a bathroom (no kitchen). Staff was very accommodating and let us check in about 1.5 hours early (we hung out for about an hour before that at the lobby and out back at the lakefront until the room was ready). We were lucky they were able to get the room ready for us! The lobby was nice, with the tea, hot apple cider, and coffee. Would've been a plus if there were restrooms available but not a big deal. The lakefront was fun, with hot tub, pool, playground, games, and a lot of ducks. The room was comfortable, nice bathroom, functioning heater, fun balcony for the kids to hang out on and look outside, and comfortably fit three adults and two small children (the room was supposed to be for four guests but they were accomodating). One of the biggest plus is that the Village is walking distance from here. My husband took the car to go snow boarding and the rest of us could just walk and spend time at the Village without worrying about parking. We loved this cozy resort and would book here again for another winter getaway to Big Bear!
google avatar

Deborah R.

Yelp
The location is great and the staff is courteous. However, the pool is empty and growing weeds, the site says there is a restaurant, nope, the cable was down all weekend, the ice machine was broken and there is no phone, no drawers for unpacking, and had to ask for hangers. The walls are paper thin, can hear everything. The shower has no door, so water went everywhere. Disappointing
google avatar

Marjorie J.

Yelp
We stayed there mid-January 2023. The rooms were newly renovated and some of the hotel was still in progress. The room we got was really cool with a bunk bed for my kid. All in wood, nice wall color and good lighting. The staff was friendly. We only used to the room because other amenities were not build yet. Will be back.

Yelp
Had no idea where to stay when driving back doing a roundabout SoCal. Decided to stay in Big Bear and find a place as I was getting tired. Wanted to be close to Pine Knot - main tourist street. It's Great Wolf Lodge meets natural funscape. The place was basically presented as a huge log cabin. The bed is a log-bed, like GWL. The places kind of deceptive. The main floor is actually the second floor as there is a lower floor for offices and suites that walk out to the beach area. There is also a third level as well. This makes this place quite large for a motel-like resort. It's a resort because it has a beach. Meh...thanks to the devastating drought through California, even the mountain lakes looks like it's been affected. Probably had a bad snow season which equals low water everywhere. They have a Playground, BBQs, the Beach, Volleyball nets, and Watersports...so not a bad place to be if you wanted to get away with the little ones. The rooms were are being sprayed when I was there. Looks like you have to so what you can to keep the bug population from getting into the suites. Appreciate it. I for one don't want to survive any incident of that sort in a hotel ever again. The AC/Heater in the room is loud. The bathrooms are tiny. The place is a bit run down and needs some refreshening. Close to all the restaurants, coffee places, and activities. However, far enough away that any crazy antics on Pine Knot isn't going to affect you. Not a bad place to stay. Heard that the place was sold recently. Let's see what they do to raise this 3 star up to where it should be. Cheers.

Yelp
Stayed here for the first time a few weeks ago and I'm still dreaming about my balcony facing the lake in the early morning hours! Not only was it located right across of the street from the village the rooms were so cute!! I really felt a cozy cabin vibe. I can't wait for it to be fully remodeled so we can take advantage of the sauna!! I definitely will be back!!

Yelp
First of all it's beautiful. Great view and one of the only modern hotels in big bear. There was very light construction not a huge deal but it did interrupt us once at night and around 8:30 am. The bathroom is beautiful however maybe design was prioritized when it came to the shower door since it's less than half a door and let's nearly all water out. Not a huge issue if you put like three towels down tho lol. Front desk helper was very kind and helpful. Being that there's construction going on the price should definitely drop but if you want an "aesthetic" hotel for pictures & you aren't too particular about anything else come here!

Yelp
I am really on the fence as to how to rate this place... Let me explain. After being unable to get out of Big Bear d/t not having snow chains, I was in desperate need of finding a hotel room to stay in for the night. I came upon this place on travelocity and decided to go over to see if I can get a room. The front desk lady was really nice. And considering that alot of people no doubt were unexpectedly stuck on the mountain d/t road closures, I'm surprised the prices were not astronomically high. For a lake view (all rooms have lake views) room on the 2nd floor, it came out about $95 for the night, after taxes it was about $115. This is by no means a fancy, top scale hotel. But a small rustic almost motel type place. The things I really appreciated and liked about this place are: 1. I love how the room had a fire place. So that I could dry out my wet clothes and shoes and socks. And just watching the fire was almost therapeutic. 2. I loved the balcony overlooking the lake and surrounding pine trees. And you can just sit there watching the snow fall. It was really peaceful. 3. Customer service- the lady at the front desk when I checked in was really nice. Being an unexpected stay here, I didnt have a charging cable for my work phone or personal phone. She was kind enough to let me borrow a cable over night so that my phones can be fully charged by the morning. She even gave me suggestions in regards to where to dine for dinner!! Much appreciated, and a great suggestion, thanks for that. 4. They offer complimentary coffee in the morning, and it was nice and hot. Brewed well. Things that I didn't like about this hotel room are as follows: 1. the floor was uneven. Some places felt as though the floor had given way, so when you step there its all sunken down. 2. shower water pressure. I'm by no means a tall person, only being 5'5" on a good day. The shower head was probably at my chin, meaning that normal sized people this shower head would be to their chest. And you couldn't adjust it. The water pressure was embarrassing. Almost like a trickle only, thank goodness the water temp was adjustable. 3. the bed. The bed was way too soft. Great size being a king bed. But that manufactured "clean" smell in the sheets and being so soft, I couldn't fall asleep till 4 in the morning. 4. walls are super thin. You can easily overhear the conversations of the rooms next to you, which is really annoying. 5. general disrepair of the room. It's hard to miss the poor quality patch jobs on the walls especially in the bathroom, could've done a beterjob. As well as black (mold?) like stains in the grout lines in the bathtub. Overall, if it wasen't for the kindness of the staff member, this stay would've easily been a low 3 star, or even a 2 star, but because of her exceptional customer service and the great natural views from the balcony, I must give this place a 4 star review. But make sure you pay attention to the things lacking here though.

Yelp
Those one star reviews are true. Cons:It's 11 PM now and I still could not sleep because we live at Level 0. You can hear people talking and walking from every dimension of the room. Well, while I am writing this review, the couples living upstairs are doing something fun and I can hear all the moaning/groaning, and instructional commands, squeals they are making. The shower has no door and after you finish the shower, the floor got wet. Pros:The front staffs are friendly and they were able to switch us to a different room. No coffee machine at room but they off complementary tea, coffee at the lobby.

Yelp
Nice renovation, great location, staff is nice, and free lattes is a cool perk but the noise level of the room on the 2nd level where we stayed, was too much. It sounds like the people above us were engaged in a wrestling match but they were prob just walking to the bathroom. That was annoying. It's a very picturesque hotel but essentials - peace and quiet - were missing esp considering you're not paying motel rates here. Maybe thicker/ larger rugs for rooms on the 2nd & 3rd floors?

Yelp
Our score would be an 5. If your back landscaping was done and usable, and the pool was open, we'd give you a 5. The room was very comfortable, the AC worked great, and the location couldn't have been better. The TV did lose signal quite frequently but always came back in a short time. But your staff was the best part. So friendly and helpful. Thank you, and let us know when the pool is open. I'm sure we'll be back.

Yelp
Loud noise from upstairs makes you not to be sleep at all at night. Extra charges on the credit card on file . Do not recommend this place

Yelp
The room was nice and the staff was friendly. The bedding was comfortable. However the amenities were lagging behind other hotels. A small microwave would be ideal in the room would be ideal to warm food up on a cold night. A limited portion of the TV channels worked, maybe perhaps because of the snowstorm. But if winter weather affects this, the hotel should think about switching TV providers since this is a winter destination and there will always be snow storms. Lastly, the path to/from rooms could have been maintained more frequently as it was tough for our 2 year old, or even myself at times to navigate through the thick snow just to get to the room.

Yelp
Our stay was just okay. At check-in, about 7:30pm, there was no one in the office, just a sign. We had to call and wait for some to come to the office. this was the same situation at check out. Waste of customers time. The room was clean, nothing special, and maid staff was friendly. Parking lot is difficult to get out of due to proximity to the intersection and traffic light. The problem came after check out. After we were hours on the road we received an additional charge for $12.93. We contacted the office, via text, as to the charge. The charge was for 2 bottles of water. They stated it was " a mini bar charge for the water". The "mini bar" was a "cart" in the corner with the two waters and two glasses, and supposedly a little card that said it was not complimentary. Must have missed the little guy. That they think it constitutes a Mini bar I find a huge stretch, if not just deceiving. The "snacks" for the mini bar are kept in the office, where you would have to wait after calling the number, to purchase. This is in no way an upscale hotel, so I guess they have to make that few extra bucks in Whatever way they can get by you.

Yelp
Five stars for location. One star for the guy who checked us in. Pros: great location on the lake. All rooms have a patio or balcony. Based on other reviews, we stayed on the 3rd floor so footsteps from above weren't an issue. Across the street from the village shops and restaurants. Cons: bedroom is large but has no storage for clothing except a small closet, mostly taken up by a mini fridge. A desk or table would be better than the "minibar cart" with 2 overpriced bottles of water. Large shower but as others have mentioned, there is no door, only a glass partition so a lot of water splashes on the floor. Back to the guy at reception. We didn't realize that route 18 was closed weekdays from 10-3 until we got to the barrier. Lots of other cars had also unknowingly done the same thing. We were there at noon so we went back to Lake Arrowhead for lunch. When we got to the hotel, the guy said the road was closed all month. We asked why we weren't notified and he said "we don't do that" and "that's not going to happen." They could notify us that it's bird mating season but not about a scheduled multi week road closure? Lesson learned: check highway conditions even in the summer.

Yelp
This place is awesome. Great view of the lake, walking distance to shops and restaurants. But what really sets this place apart is the staff. The general manager Marcus and the desk staff Victoria and Sarah were very accommodating and kind. Our room is gorgeous, and the private deck is perfect. Fireplace in the room, and all the amenities needed for a perfect stay.

Yelp
Super cozy and clean and cute! We got a room on a Sunday night for only 69.00. Lake view bottom floor close to the spa! Every one was very friendly and accommodating. They had the best hot apple cider ever! We sat in the spa. Walked across the street to get some dinner and went back and slept like babies. The next day we walked down to the lake, played a little ping pong and drank our coffee on the deck! Simply romantic and beautiful! Thank you for the hospitality! We will be back for sure.

Yelp
Getting a nice place in Big Bear is like gambling in Vegas... you never know how bad it'll be. Marina Resort is absolutely fantastic! It's beautiful, nice, very clean, and the staff is extremely nice and helpful! The rooms were remodeled a few years ago, except for the 3rd floor. So make sure you don't get the third floor. They are rustic and you feel like you're really in the mountains! The pictures on the website do reality justice. The rooms with king beds have fireplaces. The rooms have a fridge. I bring my own coffee maker and I'm set for meals! It's not a 5-star resort, but nothing here is. It's a really very nice place, though. There's nothing wrong with it and nothing at all I can complain about. The hotel is right by the lake. Every single room has a balcony and is facing the lake! The views are gorgeous!! There's a playground and pool area and a private beach (if you're a summer guest) and access to the lake is right there and it's just amazing! The lobby is cozy and fun to hang out in, with a fireplace and furniture made out of actual tree trunks, and there's free coffee, tea, and a microwave. There's also a nice patio area outside facing the lake with sitting areas and chair swings. ATTENTION SKIIERS: There are ski rentals at the hotel and a free shuttle (brand new!!) to and from the mountain resorts!! No more parking hassles!!! There's a ski rental place right across the street that the hotel partners with. $35 for a complete package for adults and $25 for kids. And you get a 15% discount when you're a hotel guest. You cannot get this cheaper "at home" and add in the convenience of not having to lug around skis and boots and hassle of picking them up and returning them! We've come here for 5 years in a row now. I'd never book a different hotel! The value for the price is basically unbeatable! The only thing that's not "perfect" is the island music (beach reggae) that plays in the lobby. I'd suggest something more "mountain-y. That's my only "complaint." We love it here! 5 stars all around!!

Yelp
I had a fantastic stay at the Marina Riviera. It is located very central to town and you can walk to many restaurants and parks to relax, as well as the marina. I stayed in the detached cabins which were renovated nicely and well equipped. I would definitely recommend this location to all Big Bear visitors!
