"Georges Flaig represents the fourth generation at the helm of this gorgeous half - timbered house, dating from 1860. No nostalgia on his watch. His cooking is modern and tasty, and readily promotes producers from the surrounding area. For instance, Windstein Highland beef and Wingen trout." - Michelin Inspector

What a gem of a place! My partner used to visit with his mother as a teen and took him for a surprise overnight stay. The hospitality was fantastic, our room was lovely with a mix of charm of the wood burning fire and modern bathroom amenities. The food in the restaurant was superb too! Definitely a place to visit and stay if you are in the area.

My wife and I stayed for just one night passing through the area. We wish we could have stayed longer. The hotel staff are all very friendly, especially Sonia who speaks excellent English. The dinner in the very pretty restaurant was fantastic. We had the gourmand set menu with wines, but there was no problem with substitutions for a couple of things we were less keen on. Inventive food beautifully presented. The waiting staff at dinner and breakfast were very attentive but discrete. The room we had was very comfortable, quiet and very clean. Breakfast was relatively simple continental but with lots of choice, and all vey high quality. We highly recommend this restaurant/hotel and suggest it is worth the detour. The northern Alsace region is very beautiful and calm too.

The food was creatively interesting and absolutely delicious. I enjoyed trout ravioli which was unforgettable and my husband lovedhis entree. The creme glacé was phenomenal. We had wine from the region and eau du vie de la region. The service was kind and very courteous. The bread was delicious, The dining room was beautifully appointed.

We love Anthon’s! The service, the food, the ambiance are all fantastic. The have a wonderful wine list and cellar and will give you a tour if you ask. We always go with one of the tasting menus, which are reasonably priced and delicious. If you can, stay overnight. The rooms are wonderful and breakfast includes their homemade preserves.

We have stayed at Hotel Anthon a few times over the years but had not been back for about 3 years until this October. Lovely corner room on the front quarter of the hotel (I think no 6), in the past we have been at the back in another corner room (I think no 8, which is smaller). Our room was spacious and relaxing and comfortable. We had an excellent meal as ever; the food is always delicious. I really would recommend a stay here. I wish I had the time to stay a week or so rather than always only one night. The setting and the scenery around the hotel transport you to an unhurried world which lifts the cares of our busy hectic lives.

this hotel is a quite hotel in a quite place, surrounded by woods and many cycling trails. I came here to try a cuisine that my friend recommended and it was a great experience indeed. the food here really is amazing for not so big prices (comapred to other restaurants in the area, where you pay a bit less for way less food. I have tried many of them during my stay here.)||Anthon has a great choice of wines, local and foreign and team of skilled waiters will recommend you the very best for your food. ||Thank you for a great vacation!

We received a friendly welcoming reception and when they discovered we were 2 single males they offered us a room with 2 medieval style bunk beds and reduced our quoted room tariff by 10 euros, a remarkable sign of honesty and professionalism. The room was large and comfortable and had a large, modern bathroom with a bath/shower and with soap & shampoo provided.||||A mid-afternoon arrival gave time for a couple of beers in the garden where we chatted with some of the staff and the ubiquitous black labradors of Alsace.||||We rated dinner the best of the 25 places we stayed in while trekking through Les Vosges. We chose the "Petit Menu" at 25 euros and were astonished at the quality, from the exquisite amuse bouche through to dessert. We were expertly and gently guided on wine choices and appreciated the advice. Breakfast was very good with locally made jars of yoghurt but no fresh fruit.||||We stayed here on Day 2 of our 25 day walk through Les Vosges - a very memorable occasion.||Previous night: Hotel Restaurant A l'Ange, Climbach||Tomorrow: Mercure Niederbronn, Niederbronn-les-bains

I love the Hotel Anthon. It's an old style hotel and I like that. It is a very quiet hotel in a very quiet town. The restaurant is excellent but doesn't quite justify the prices. I have periodically revisited the Anthon since I was stationed close by in Germany 45 years ago. It was an icon, even then.
