Where Can I Wear Opera Gloves & Eat Steak-Frites? - Paris - The Infatuation

"While this place won’t exactly inspire you to don your finest gown, it still captures Old World refinement. It’s the oldest steakhouse in Paris, with a ’30s-era dining room still lined with golden hat racks and Art Déco light fixtures. Giant portraits of shaggy cows confirm that the French are as comfy as ever with knowing the source of their beef, here served as red and rare as the velvet chairs. Choose from twelve cuts of dry-aged French beef, including a 300-gram entrecôte or 1.2-kilo beef rib for two, displayed whole like the gem it is before being expertly sliced and served with puffed potatoes. Don’t miss the pepper sauce, which doesn’t hide the spice behind layers of heavy cream." - emily monaco

We booked the hotel as it was near “Zenith”, where the “Stereophonics” were due to play that evening. Room was very good with all the amenities we expected. Bed was very comfortable. Staff were very helpful and tried their best to speak English. Reception was open 24/7 with helpful and pleasant staff. Lots of places to eat and drink in the area and the area around the “Music Academy” was family friendly during the day with lots of young children playing. Would highly recommend the hotel.

We stayed here for 4 nights during our visit to Paris. Very friendly and helpful staff at the front desk. There is a subway station very close by from which you can pretty much go anywhere. I provided some constructive feedback regarding the doors that were connecting the two rooms we booked and the feedback was very well received. Enjoy your stay in Paris!

This is a great boutique hotel slightly out of the hustle and bustle of central Paris. The metro is literally less than 50m away, and there are a plethora of restaurants nearby, including a classy on the premises. Breakfast is quality and quantity with a lovely buffet set-up. I will definitely be back! Thank you.

Wonderful hotel, serving wonderful food. Staff friendly and helpful. I especially liked the immaculately clean and comfortable rooms, with large, spacious walk in shower. Nicely located, near plenty of amenities, attractions and lively local parks. A great stay!

This restaurant strikes the perfect balance between sophistication and warmth. The waiters are not only impeccably trained but also genuinely care for their customers, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience. Service is efficient yet never rushed, and every dish reflects high-quality ingredients and expert preparation. From start to finish, it’s a place that makes you feel valued—and leaves you eager to return.

Stayed for a night with a friend as we were attending a nearby concert. The room was great and clean however the only downside is that the shower is an open shower that can be seen from the room therefore not the most convenient when staying with friends. Check in and out was easy and the service was great. there are lots of places to eat nearby and the metro is right outside the hotel.

I stayed at hotel Au Beouf Couronne for 3 nights in February for my mother’s birthday. It was me my mum and 1 year old son. Upon arriving everything was ok and as expected of a 3 star hotel, service was not amazing to begin with and had no help locating our room and carrying all our bags up through the very narrow and confusing hallways whilst also carrying a small child. We checked out our room which also seemed ok, the view was of the back of a building and there were no closets, just a rack to hang up to 3 items. We noticed that we were given an adjoining room which was not what we had booked however the door leading into the other room was unlocked. We set out for dinner and on our way out I asked the man at reception about the adjoining room as it appeared that we were given the privilege of making use of the extra space as a complimentary upgrade. There was clearly a language barrier and neither of us fully understood each other however after speaking to him, felt reassured that the adjoining room was not given to us in error. After returning from dinner we made use of the extra room. Approximately 1 hour later the man at reception came upstairs angrily and aggressively shouting at me about why we were in the adjoining room. I was not even able to get a word in as he just kept cutting me off, shouting and threatening me to leave the room and tabs our belongings out. My 1 year old son began crying due to the shouting and I asked my mum to take him inside as I dealt with the issue. He was extremely intimidating, threatening and insulting making remarks and stormed off back down stairs. He then continued on to call the room and shout down the line insinuating that I was “stupid” and could not use common sense whilst questioning why we would think the room was complimentary despite us asking him several times before leaving for dinner. I asked to speak with the manager as we were so appalled by the behaviour but he said I could wait till the next day. In that time he called and emailed the manager giving her his false version of what had happened knowing he had acting highly inappropriately. The next day I spoke with the manager Nadia who had already started making excuses for him, stating that he was frustrated by being told off by another hotel guest who was supposed to be staying in the next room. Which we know to be false as the rest of the time we were there there was no sound of other people in the adjoining room until the morning of us leaving. She informed me that even if he was to be disciplined it would not be due to how he had treated me and my family. She asked me to write a statement and send it via email so that she could share it with her manager. I sent an email 2 weeks after returning home requesting to make a formal complaint as we felt unsafe, intimidated and abused as 2 women and a young child being shouted at aggressively in another country by a man who knew he could get away with it. My email was not even acknowledged. I have no doubt that I will get a dismissive reply to this review from the hotel staff as I have noticed others have received after reading through other negative reviews here. This speaks volumes about the character of the people running this hotel and how they view or respect their paying customers. ||||If there are no issues or incidents you might think this is a great hotel but if you run into problems they will treat you like rubbish. I also would not recommend staying here if you’re a woman or group of women travelling alone as there is clearly no regard for women’s safety or for us to feel comfortable in this establishment. I am sure he would not have approached us in this way if we were men who could shout back equally as loud and aggressively. ||||I expect nothing less than a rude passive aggressive response and urge whoever is reading this to also pay close attention to how the hotel responds to this (if they can be bothered to respond at all).
