La Corniche

"A family business clinging to the mountain with a splendid terrace shaded by plane trees overlooking the sea... Exquisite plating, delicious flavours with notes of Corsican saffron and confit of citron, twice-cooked mouth-watering veal or the decadent vacherin dessert perfumed with the one and only Madagascan vanilla, all of which washed down with locally grown vintages." - Michelin Inspector

Excellent, amazing location with 10-star views. Also an excellent restaurant.

If you consider visiting the northern part of Corsica, staying at la Corniche is a must. Even if it is just for one night. My wife and I visited this hotel for our honeymoon and it couldn't have been any better. From the super friendly and helpfull staff, to the stunning location and excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner (we had one of our best lunch dishes ever here). The staff will do anything for you and are also very willing to provide you with information and tips considering the island and direct surroundings. A special compliment goes out to the young gentleman doing almost every lunch and dinner service. So professional helpfull and kind, we are so impressed! We hope to return some day!

Classy hotel with a magnificent view. We had a short stay so we didn't get the chance to dine here as we heard the restaurant is amazing. But we served breakfast on the terrace and we had the loveliest view to the sea and the village, which is also pretty nice and you should give it a small visit during your stay here. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are nicely decorated and the area is calm and perfect for a chilling vacation.

Alex from SwitzerlandOwner of a restaurant and head of a digital agency specializing in aiding businesses with their digitalization needs. I have multiple culinary qualifications and have completed my formal culinary training in Switzerland. Over the course of 20 years in the hospitality industry, I’ve had the pleasure of visiting over 1000 restaurants in more than 20 countries, and I’m passionate about exploring and discovering new locales. First and foremost, this restaurant is a picturesque gem located just 15-20 minutes away from Bastia. It boasts a breathtaking view that alone makes a visit worthwhile. The service was truly exceptional and attentive. I was particularly impressed when we were immediately asked our language preference for service – English or French. The amuse-bouche and the starter were delectable and truly exquisite. For our main course, we chose the T-bone steak, which was the dish of the day. The meat was tender and flavorful; however, parts of it had tendons which were difficult to remove or eat. It would have been helpful to have the price mentioned upfront for this dish. Another minor critique was the quality of the knives, which, unfortunately, were too blunt for meat dishes. Some points of improvement: The absence of background music made the chatter from the kitchen more prominent, which was occasionally disruptive. For a restaurant of this caliber, I would expect high-quality pepper mills, perhaps from brands like Peugeot. Some of the salt shakers showed signs of rust and could use a good cleaning. Despite these minor points of criticism, I would highly recommend the restaurant overall. It was a genuinely impressive experience.

The hotel was overall a beautiful stay and great value.||||Rooms: Extremely clean, comfortable pillows and linens, good size with great views of the mountains. Modern updated bathrooms and strong air conditioning. ||||Hotel Grounds: There’s a large pool atop a mountain. Large indoor sitting room with comfortable seating in a cute French style. There’s also a nice outdoor seating area next to the pool with a bar and plenty of shade. ||||Restaurant: The breakfast buffet was a cold buffet, but great selection of pastries and cakes, yogurts, breads, eggs, charcuterie and cheeses. The dinner at the hotel was amazing, and great service. I previously stayed at a 5 star hotel on the coast, and the dinner at la corniche was much better. You can’t get more calming views to watch the sunset over the mountains. ||||Staff: The staff was every friendly, and though they didn’t speak fluent English, were able to accommodate my needs and were pleasant. ||||Location: The hotel sits in a quiet village in the mountains. There is a small town with 2 restaurants within a 10 minute walk. It’s a 3 mile walk down to the beach, so a car is definitely needed.

Food and view were great. The service was really bad though. Server spilled salad dressing all over the table never brought us a new one until we asked for 3rd time, empty cocktail glasses were left on table through entire meal, empty water glass also left, no one once asked if we needed anything or if our meal was good, table was cleared in 5 minute increments even though we were all finished. Lastly, asked for the check and it took 10 minutes to get. Maybe understaffed? Don’t take as many reservations then. Overall disappointing on our last night on this beautiful island.

This was our last dinner of our holiday on the beautiful island. We ate their as we also stayed in the hotel. Expectations were not that high, but were we wrong. We had the best dinner here of the whole 2 weeks. A nice terrace under some big trees with a view on the bay, small village and mountains. The staff is friendly and very professional. We paid 33 euro for a starter, main course and dessert which is great value for the price. Go there if you can, you won't regret it.
