Alex from SwitzerlandOwner of a restaurant and head of a digital agency specializing in aiding businesses with their digitalization needs. I have multiple culinary qualifications and have completed my formal culinary training in Switzerland. Over the course of 20 years in the hospitality industry, I’ve had the pleasure of visiting over 1000 restaurants in more than 20 countries, and I’m passionate about exploring and discovering new locales.
First and foremost, this restaurant is a picturesque gem located just 15-20 minutes away from Bastia. It boasts a breathtaking view that alone makes a visit worthwhile. The service was truly exceptional and attentive. I was particularly impressed when we were immediately asked our language preference for service – English or French.
The amuse-bouche and the starter were delectable and truly exquisite. For our main course, we chose the T-bone steak, which was the dish of the day. The meat was tender and flavorful; however, parts of it had tendons which were difficult to remove or eat. It would have been helpful to have the price mentioned upfront for this dish. Another minor critique was the quality of the knives, which, unfortunately, were too blunt for meat dishes.
Some points of improvement: The absence of background music made the chatter from the kitchen more prominent, which was occasionally disruptive. For a restaurant of this caliber, I would expect high-quality pepper mills, perhaps from brands like Peugeot. Some of the salt shakers showed signs of rust and could use a good cleaning.
Despite these minor points of criticism, I would highly recommend the restaurant overall. It was a genuinely impressive experience.
