Hotel Restaurant Spa Torkel

The best hotel service and food I've had in Germany. We stayed over the weekend and the staff were incredible. Our room had comfortable beds, was pet friendly for our dog, and happily fit our family of 5. On site parking made getting our things inside easy. Due to a family emergency we we're delayed in our initial arrival. We had meals included in our stay and since we were updating the staff from the road, the staff knew we'd miss dinner. With great care they put together a meat, bread, and cheese platter with drinks for us in the room after the late night drive. They stayed up for us to make sure we had everything we needed and I really apprieciate how they went above and beyond for us during that stressful time. The hotel is at a lovely location, and is close to the local train. It's an easy and beautiful walk to the lake with tasty gelato shops on the way. The breakfast and dinners at the hotel restaurant were fresh and delicious. I also had a massage in the spa with their talented therapist. It was very healing and helped with my injury recovery. We hope to come back soon. 💖🏖💖

We paid 662.25 EUR per night including the food breakfast and dinner every days but the service was awful. ||I don’t know where to start. Since day1 to last day, I and my partner were not happy any single day with this hotel. ||For example. ||- they said the food was included but the first day we arrived they said the restaurant were closed for dinner so that mean we paid for nothing. they also ask us to check in before 5pm Because after 5pm there is nobody at the lobby . (Even before 5 they not happy to help anyway) So we need to drive rush long way from Frankfurt to be able to check in before staff finish their shift. ||- the reception were arrogant and they are not there to help you. I was so afraid to ask for help because they will have some attitude issues when you asked. (They will make you feel guilty to ask for help.)||- they gave only 1 key card then I ask for 1 more he did not so friendly to help. ||- they did not have top up free water every day. When I ask for it. They said they gave only the first day! ||- The room does not have rings bell or do not disturb signs or make up room signs. That mean the house keeping will knock the door even when you are sleeping. |Or even if the house keeping knocked but you couldn’t hear because you were showering they could open the door and see you naked. Unbelievable ||- the room was not match the price at all. Toilet and shower are horrible. It’s open air. Your partner could see or hear everything when you doing your business. Also when you are showering the water will flood over the floor every time. (See the picture below)||- when we rent the bike they did not care to give us the helmet at all. So we have to bike without helmets. ||They are so many trouble with this place I can’t even write enough. Even the last day. We paid for everything then check out we left the hotel believe or not There still a problem, we drove car out like 10-15 minutes then they call us to drive back because `the reception forgot to add some bill on’! Unbelievable!! . ||The only good thing here is the pepper steak. That was good. The rest was ok. ||Still, I don’t understand how they got Michelin key. ||I swear every single word here I write is the truth. This is the worst hotel I ever been in Germany. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Rating is for the restaurant, but since the management is the same, must be awesome! Restaurant has a different menu every week. Super service, friendly and attentive, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible, wonderful presentation and delicious food: the kitchen is doing really great, like rarely seen. Have been eating there many times, and it has always been a very special moment 🫶🏻

Well located near train station and port. Family-run, much attention to comfort, lovely bathroom and spa products, nice pool, sauna, whirlpool etc. The dining areas were lovely both indoors and outdoors and the half-board meals we had were nicely executed and of good quality. They have a nice wine list and we drank 5 different bottles just note that the wines we selected were not always available. The bread was delicious. Breakfast was very enjoyable with freshly-pressed orange juice, Sekt, a nice buffet and freshly-prepared eggs, pancakes etc. My only complaint was that there was no Wifi in our bedroom which was inconvenient.

We stayed here during a bad time as it was Eurobike 2015 time. Meaning hotels are scares and expensive. We decided to take the Junior suite and the first impression was really nice. As the temp. where 34 degrees outside and the room had now aircon, it was very hot and hard to sleep in the evening. We stayed in the new building which looked charming, had access directly to the pool and spa with out going through the house.||The bed was for us far to soft and we woke up with back pains. The tub directly in the "living room" was charming and we did like the idea. In general the suite was clean and comfortable.||Breakfast was average but good. We had here dinner twice and not once did we regret it. The food was really good from some good old german kitchen food to some more posh flavors. Wine card had a good selection and matched the food nicely.||The Spa and pool area where the real highlight as it looked new, 2 saunas, large relaxing area and a nice heated pool.||The service was friendly and good.||I guess the real down sides are:||no coffee maker in the room, I do expect this in a 4 star hotel, all the time now||no wifi in room||Food, especially desert, took a while to find our table||The church bell start going off at 6 in the morning including Sundays and at 7 they go crazy for minutes. This ofocurse is not a fault of the hotel, just you have to keep windows shut than all the time if you want to sleep long. Otherwise area is quiet.||The price might or is just a bit to high

I stayed here on a business trip, which I think is unusual compared to other guests. The hotel is a little out of the way, though was convenient for me. I had to be at Messe Friedrichshafen every day, and the commute was an easy 25 minutes. Although only a few of the staff spoke English (the owner/chef and one of the waiters), I did not have any major communication problems. The hotel is really pretty. The rooms was certainly very comfortable and clean. My only complaint was that they did not replace the shampoo bottles during my stay, so I ran out of shampoo on my last night there. The highlight of the hotel for me was the restaurant. The food was fantastic and the service excellent. I had the best soup ever - Banana Curry Soup with a shrimp scampi - wow! I have to be back in the Friedrichshafen area next year for a week again, and I will stay here again.

We stayed in a deluxe room for 8 nights with our large dog who was welcome in the hotel with the exception of the restaurant (fair enough). The room was spacious, clean and had all the basic amenities I would expect in a 4*. Although we were half board, we only ate one evening meal here as I'm local so preferred to go out with family and friends. The meal we did have was good but at times felt like they were trying a little too hard and letting themselves down on basics like under seasoning the soup. Wine list was extensive and predominantly local, we had a fantastic bottle of Lanz Riesling! Breakfasts were typically continental with the added bonus of terrace seating during good weather. Laundry service was super fast (same day). Overall, the service was good if not a little contrived and stiff at times. Would love to give 5 stars but felt that there is room for improvement and for the prices charged, you expect a lot and a bar that is open every evening for hotel guests.

Great, warm and beautiful hotel! Great food, breakfast and dinner. kind and friendly staff. Well equipped gym. And above all that, perfect hot tub at the room terrace. We had best two nights!
