Hôtel Restaurant Taillard

Hotel is a steep walk away from the Goumois village and its restaurants. So beware to ensure the hotel is serving. In our case they were closed wednesday when we arrived, so we had to walk down to the village. Thats fine only the steep climb back straight after eating can be a struggle lol. Ample parking but not garded. Nice pool but not heated. Excellent sauna/jaccuzzi room I used twice no issues. Room 17 we had was on 2nd floor with a gorgeous view over the Goumois valley, but its Balneo status means its pricier. You get more space in your room and a big spa bath for 2 with jets. If you dont plan on using it, get a simpler room quite cheaper. Nice Gardens and terrace for morning breakfast and evening aperitif. We did the recommended La Goule hike which took 5 hrs round trip. Be careful the path on the French side has to climb quite a bit to avoid a stone tower at the riverside. Not too much of an issue if you have healthy knees and ankles and good footwear. It gets slippy after rain you are climbing on tree roots, treacherous at times. The Swiss side is safer but a bit boring flat all the way back. This hotel is a great address as the restaurant when open Is a gem. The chef has a well earned reputation and lives it. Our evening meal was outstanding, gastronomic. An excellent address

Very nice and spacious room, excellent breakfast. Unfortunately lots of road noise in the evening and morning after 5am due to border traffic. It's quiet at night.

Stayed for a long weekend late September 22. The hosts are very attentive and friendly. Rooms and accommodations are a bit old but classy and in good shape. The pool billiard area is fun to hang out, the tiny spa is a bit smelly but otherwise ok- reserve your spa time in advance. The food served on all meals was fresh and with a high focus on quality. Dinner menus were surprising and very good. Fair value for money, even the beverage prices are a bit high.

This traditional family run hotel has a wonderful restaurant. The service is good and the food is of Michelin star level. We had the menu at 69 euro, everything was perfect but the dessert was just outstanding. Local Jura wines at reasonable prices.||A lovely garden with a swimming pool overlooking the Doubs valley and Switzerland makes this the perfect place to chill out. The rooms are clean and traditional. And peaceful!

We returned to this quaint and comfortable Hotel Restaurant Taillard in the village of Goumois which is half in France and half in Switzerland and joined by the bridge which crosses the beautiful River Doubs. |We were again lucky with the weather which was perfect for a stroll by the river and lounging by the little pool in the hotel‘s garden.|The rooms (nos. 5 + 17) were spacious and very clean. All the staff were helpful and warm and friendly.|We ate here both nights and enjoyed wonderful, authentic French cuisine and wines. It was another excellent experience and we‘ll go back soon!|Thank you team Taillard.

Not a modern or super-luxurious hotel, bedrooms might well be considered quite "ordinary", and not cheap either. But on two separate visits (2015 and 2016) the food has always been superb and the service prompt and friendly. The view across the valley is wonderful so if the weather permits meals take your meals outside on the terrace. The staff are tolerant e.g. of walkers so if you arrive at the front door with muddy boots there is no problem. Nice little garden. Relaxed atmosphere. In summary an excellent hotel - I will certainly be back there very soon.

Wow great place. Fab welcome supplying lovely filled rolls even though kitchen was closed. Rooms old fashioned but comfy with good bathrooms. The views are amazing especially from the very clean pool. Food and service was fantastic as was the local pinot blanc wine. Good breakfast on beautiful terrace. Loved it!

Room comfortable, but decor dire, warm bathroom, ashtray full of cigarette ends on balcony. Dead plants about inside. Pool green and obviously out of action for some time. Menu lacked choice, service slow and prices excessive. Breakfast poor for the price. Stayed at another Logis next night near Auxerre, what a contrast! Excellent food, plenty of choice, comfortable characterful room , all at two thirds the price.
