"The best side to a meal in Dakar is a breathtaking view of the Atlantic Ocean — especially with a refreshing drink by your side — at the open-air restaurant of the Hotel Sokhamon. The terrace makes an ideal spot to relax with popular Senegalese options such as mafé, a rich chicken stew made with peanut butter, as well as grilled fish, steak or chicken sandwiches, and ceviches." - Yasmine Fofana
This is a super adorable hotel with a lot of character and art. Very good deal, we paid 85000 francs for an ocean view room. Beautiful pool with great ocean view.||It is slight dated in some areas but for the price you get a lot. The important areas seem to be well kept up.

I am a real fan of this place, even though I have only spent a limited amount of time there. The décor is completely wild, random and creative, and the space is somewhat rustic with an incredible view of the water. I hear it’s one of the best spots in Senegal for sundown. There is a somewhat infinity pool overlooking the water from above and there is a good amount of comfy seating for drinks. When I went, the place was extremely quiet. The prices are reasonable and the views are incredible. I didn’t have a chance to check out the food or the wider space, but I am definitely planning on returning soon.

Superb African architecture and interior design in the common spaces. Rooms were super clean. Ibrahim was friendly and very helpful, we would stay again.

I love this place, which has lots of personality. The decor is totally idiosyncratic, you'll know you're not in a chain. The food at the restaurant is excellent, and service is very friendly. Would definitely come back. Thumbs up!

So upon arrival I wasn't sure what I was in for, but after a few days I could see the effort put into the artistic decor that surrounded me. It's a great place to stay, nice ocean breeze and nice staff. ||But as I was here for business I needed reliable internet, working aircon (for working in room) etc. it fell a bit short on this area. This a place to come for a holiday not a business trip. Don't expect a 5 star hotel and you will be happy. The deeper you look the more treasures you will find.

The concept is interesting. I think they are trying to make it an artistic place to be...but before you garnish a place, you need to make sure the basic infrastructure is sound. ||||The rooms feel damp and dark. The beds are basic and very hard. There are fittings falling off the walls and sockets coming apart. Breakfast is so basic. I considered going into the pool until I saw the collection of scum in the corner. That day must have been the pool boy's day off. Paint peeling everywhere and a general feeling that the place had seen better days.||||The receptionist was lovely and helpful. The owners/managers, standoffish and distant.||||Paying over 100 GBP/ night, you expect more. They should not be charging so much until they fix it up.

Very idiosyncratic place with some bizarre architecture. But that gives it character. If you normally like your hotels more corporate, then don't stay here!||However, it is friendly and efficient and the sea view rooms are delightful places to sleep with the sound of the waves and a cooling breeze.||Food is basic. Pool is not for small children.||And it is not expensive.

The strong points are location, interior design , beautiful terrasse and swimming pool overlooking the sea and the friendly staff. I enjoyed the stairs too as i could work on training my legs but not every one is like that, A great place to organise , wedding , reception , birthdays...etc
