"Hospitality has been practised here for over 500 years. Not only does the long-standing Hotel Wilden Mann have charming, individually styled guestrooms, it is also a bastion of fine dining. Since April 2022, Sascha Behrendt has been in charge of the kitchens of this tastefully elegant restaurant. He incorporates Japanese elements into his classic cuisine, as well as nods to the region and the season. The four- to six-course tasting menu is also available in a vegetarian version. There are à la carte options too. Tip for motorists: the Kesselturm multi-storey car park is just a short walk away. Otherwise you can park on the other side of the river, stroll through the beautiful old town and then cross the bridge (Reussbrücke)." - Michelin Inspector

We didn’t stay here but had a pleasant lunch. Food was very good without being exceptional, hearty, well presented and flavoursome. Service, although not busy, acceptable and efficient. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Beautifully appointed rooms. Wonderful location. Spotlessly clean. Lovely breakfast and very kind staff. Loved staying here as it was so charming. Gave it a four only because WiFi is terrible. Everything else was superb! It was like walking into a fairy tale.

Only great things to say. Beautiful rooms with antique furnishings. Several common areas, all carefully decorated. The staff is so pleasant and helpful. Very attentive. Hotel is very well maintained and central to all the tourist sites, restaurants and bars. Rooms can be a bit noisy from adjacent bar though. Loved this hotel!

The Hotel Wilden Mann is about a 15-minute walk along the river from the train station. There are two restaurants, a terrace bar and a beautiful lounge where you can enjoy coffee (no machines in each room because of the age of the hotel, but coffee/tea is always available on the second floor). Buffet breakfast is served in a luxuriously decorated room; there is plenty of choice, with eggs, bacon, prosecco, an assortment of fresh fruit and pastries. Our hotel room was furnished with lovely antiques and had plenty of storage. The bathroom had double sinks and a tub, good hair dryer and nice toiletries plus bath salts, as well as a little stool, which is nice to pull alongside the tub if you feel like a glass of wine while you soak. Umbrellas are available in the lobby. Good shopping is nearby, as are plenty of restaurants and cafes. A Coop grocery store is just across the river. You will be given a guide book to Lucerne and inside is a very doable self-guided walking tour. Wilden Mann is one of those special hotels in which you'll feel instantly at home and we were pleased to spend three wonderful nights there at the end of our vacation.

What a lovely hotel. Located in old town area of Lucerne, right beside the river |Easy walk to train station, shops, restaurants. All staff encountered were helpful, courteous and friendly. |Comfortable bed, clean room. If you can afford the junior suite, I recommend it. Our room had a sitting area along with a patio. Breakfast was included and excellent’. Highly recommend it. Be careful of bikes. The door exits right to the street.

We stayed at the Wilden Mann for two nights prior to our Avalon Rhine River cruise. The hotel is very centrally located in Lucerne. It’s only a few blocks from the river. It is a historic hotel with different levels and a restaurant. It does have breakfast in the morning. Our room was on the second level. It was a comfortable room with a large bathroom, We very much enjoyed our stay there. It would be a little difficult for people with mobility issues as the elevator is small.

This is a great option if you’re looking for a centrally located hotel in Lucerne. While the furnishings are old, the room was very clean and comfortable. Free Lucerne travel card was appreciated, allowing free public transport in the city including trains and buses. The standard checkout time of 12pm is also included. The hotel staff were friendly and always approachable. The evening turnout service and free drinking water was a bonus. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Had a Collette Vacations tour group dinner here, one of the few places that can host 42 people in Lucerne. Wife and I sat in the middle of one of several large tables in an elegant setting, with white table cloths, white napkins, and shiny tableware. Had our choice of beer, wine, juice or soda. Took apple juice, which I instantly regretted after the waiter poured a 1 ounce portion into a wine glass, not to sip, but to drink. The bouilion with vegetable strips came in a small bowl, and was hearty, if a bit insubstantial in number of vegetables. Other choice was celery salad with sprouts, which looked like one of those salads with shredded vegetable strips. The chicken breast could have used more mushroom sauce, as it was very dry, and lacked taste, but was a generous portion of around 7 ounces. Came with two scoops of yellow poienta and broccoli, to give it color, although I thought mashed potatoes or rice would go better with the fake grill marks on the chicken breast. The fried fillets of trout was a sample size of no more than 2,5 ounces of what was salmon, with the skin left on for looks. The leek vegetables tasted yummy like onions, and potato gnocchi was the only thing filling on the plate, and well cooked and presented. Any McDonalds nearby to stop afterwards? The carmel flan with cream and fruit varnish were tiny but delicious, especially with the chocolate spellings of "Happy Birthday" to yours truly. The tour operator ordered a bottle of apple juice for me to celebrate the big night, and it went by mistake to Jim, who was to celebrate his birthday the following day, and consumed it nevertheless quickly on the spot, before anyone realized the mistake!

Yelp
the worst place. do not stay here. noisy, terrible mattresses, bad breakfast. do yourself a favor and do not even think about staying here. stayed here for 2 nights and got no sleep. totally will never think about staying here ever again. almost ruined the city for me.

Yelp
We were on a tour and this was one of three restaurants to choose from in Luzerne for our "dine out" experience. The restaurant is an authentic Swiss one located in a hotel. Be prepared for no AC. I got the trout which was perfectly cooked; it came with a side of Linguine noodles without sauce and some really sweet steamed carrots. Everyone else in our group got the chicken which was dry. For dessert, we got the tiramisu which was not a traditional tiramisu. It was like a berry one that was tart and not really good. The service was a little slow with the drinks but the food came out pretty fast. It was a good experience overall.
