"Hospitality has been practised here for over 500 years. Not only does the long-standing Hotel Wilden Mann have charming, individually styled guestrooms, it is also a bastion of fine dining. Since April 2022, Sascha Behrendt has been in charge of the kitchens of this tastefully elegant restaurant. He incorporates Japanese elements into his classic cuisine, as well as nods to the region and the season. The four- to six-course tasting menu is also available in a vegetarian version. There are à la carte options too. Tip for motorists: the Kesselturm multi-storey car park is just a short walk away. Otherwise you can park on the other side of the river, stroll through the beautiful old town and then cross the bridge (Reussbrücke)." - Michelin Inspector

Great period hotel in superb location. Loved all the antique furniture & the bed was very comfortable. Staff very friendly especially Robin & Adrian in the restaurant. Food was exquisite fine dining in the evening although the breakfast was an unchanging predictable buffet. Would have been good to have coffee making facilities in the room but the communal coffee machine made really good coffee.

Review from a client that stayed here in August 2025: Hotel Wilden Mann was a very charming hotel in a perfect location in Lucerne. It's a short walk (around 5 minutes) from the train station so not too far, especially if you have luggage. You are also steps away from the river, restaurants and shops. The staff was welcoming and accommodating. Upon arrival, the front desk gave us a map of Lucerne and suggestions on activities during our stay. There's no air conditioning - it wasn't too hot during out stay so not an issue for us but good to know if you're traveling during the hotter weeks. The room was clean and well taken care of with very cool, antique furniture and charming decor. The bathroom was very large, updated and clean. Overall - we had a great stay and would recommend it to anyone visiting Lucerne.

Room had basic amenities but sufficient. Booked knowing there was no air conditioning so no surprise there. Could get uncomfortable if temperatures rise, even with the portable fan provided. Staff was helpful and friendly. Location was ideal, just a few minutes' walk to Chapel Bridge and an easy 10 minute walk to the train station even with a carry-on suitcase.

This hotel is in a great location in the City of Lucerne. You can walk to the main parts of the city in a short time frame. The staff was very friendly. The hotel is historical but appeared to be well maintained for its age. We were there in the summer and the hotel has no air conditioning. The fan provided made it comfortable at night with the windows open, but during the day the rooms and building were hot and humid. I feel any other time of year the hotel is comfortable. We had dinner with or group at the hotel and the food and service was very good. We also had complimentary breakfast. The service again was very friendly and helpful.

Arriving from Zurich at 10 a.m. I was held from being given a room until 4 p.m. Meanwhile more than one large group of clients were assigned a room……obviously groups are given priority over a single person…..this gave me a rather bitter taste regarding the entire front desk and the entire hotel. Location is the only thing going for this hotel from my perspective.

We loved this hotel! It felt historic but yet very comfortable. The location was quaint and yet central to everything. The people were helpful. We would make a point to stay there again.

We drove to Lucerne. They don't have parking, but there is a 30 CHF a day option very close. The hotel can give you address of garage, and they have a 30 CHF token that saves you 5 CHF. You buy the coin at the front desk and use it when you pay for your parking (pre-pay before you get to the exit, at a kiosk).||We arrived early (noon) and they upgraded us to a better room that was ready. We had a large spacious room, with a walk out (large) private patio attached. Your milage may vary, but it was vey nice and accommodating. The room amenities were the best we experienced in CH, and the bed was a little tired, but ended up comfortable. They did have a portable window-vented A/C unit that was much appreciated in the August heat. ||The folks at the desk were very helpful with maps, highlighting things to see and do, and very helpful.||When we left, they gave us a little chocolate and cookie bag, that was very kind. ||Their location is PERFECT for seeing the lake, bridges, old town, etc. It's a short walk to the train station, and easy to find. When we return, we would 100% stay here.

Great location, but smug service at the front desk when you simply ask why the wifi cannot connect in your room. Excellent connection in the hallway, but changes to poor as soon as you enter the room. It's time to figure out a solution to allow guests to access wifi for the price you're paying to stay here. Additionally, the TV didn't work. Having basic amenities is a fair expectation.

Yelp
Had a Collette Vacations tour group dinner here, one of the few places that can host 42 people in Lucerne. Wife and I sat in the middle of one of several large tables in an elegant setting, with white table cloths, white napkins, and shiny tableware. Had our choice of beer, wine, juice or soda. Took apple juice, which I instantly regretted after the waiter poured a 1 ounce portion into a wine glass, not to sip, but to drink. The bouilion with vegetable strips came in a small bowl, and was hearty, if a bit insubstantial in number of vegetables. Other choice was celery salad with sprouts, which looked like one of those salads with shredded vegetable strips. The chicken breast could have used more mushroom sauce, as it was very dry, and lacked taste, but was a generous portion of around 7 ounces. Came with two scoops of yellow poienta and broccoli, to give it color, although I thought mashed potatoes or rice would go better with the fake grill marks on the chicken breast. The fried fillets of trout was a sample size of no more than 2,5 ounces of what was salmon, with the skin left on for looks. The leek vegetables tasted yummy like onions, and potato gnocchi was the only thing filling on the plate, and well cooked and presented. Any McDonalds nearby to stop afterwards? The carmel flan with cream and fruit varnish were tiny but delicious, especially with the chocolate spellings of "Happy Birthday" to yours truly. The tour operator ordered a bottle of apple juice for me to celebrate the big night, and it went by mistake to Jim, who was to celebrate his birthday the following day, and consumed it nevertheless quickly on the spot, before anyone realized the mistake!

Yelp
the worst place. do not stay here. noisy, terrible mattresses, bad breakfast. do yourself a favor and do not even think about staying here. stayed here for 2 nights and got no sleep. totally will never think about staying here ever again. almost ruined the city for me.

Yelp
We were on a tour and this was one of three restaurants to choose from in Luzerne for our "dine out" experience. The restaurant is an authentic Swiss one located in a hotel. Be prepared for no AC. I got the trout which was perfectly cooked; it came with a side of Linguine noodles without sauce and some really sweet steamed carrots. Everyone else in our group got the chicken which was dry. For dessert, we got the tiramisu which was not a traditional tiramisu. It was like a berry one that was tart and not really good. The service was a little slow with the drinks but the food came out pretty fast. It was a good experience overall.
