Google
Maaaaaan, there aren't enough words to explain how awesome this place is! The food is outstanding, the staff was off the hook, live music (Nina Hungerland and Family). If you're in NOLA you can NOT pass on this place!

Willie Pippen

Google
Food? Meh. Of course it's New Orleans, there are tons of better places. My corn bread was excellent. As for a music venue... 5 stars. Sound was excellent. Bartenders were attentive. Very nice venue for a concert.

Jeremiah Jensen

Google
Rick and his staff, Layla and Chef Yang and team, were outstanding. I had a group of 16 youth and adults in town for the National Youth Gathering and they made our experience at HOB and New Orleans outstanding. They had our orders ready when we arrived, along with plenty of water. Rick made sure we were well taken care of. In addition, we were able to experience live music "on stage", with a very talented artist. Food was great, company was great, highly recommend!!!

Google
First time at this venue and I saw Melvins and Napalm Death here last night. AMAZING show! Even security was vibing out! Thanks for the awesome night! Would come here again.

Google
My family and I had a wonderful time here! Great music, super friendly staff, good food and drinks. Will definitely go back next time we're in NOLA.

Google
Some of the best food we've had since coming to NOLA. The voodoo shrimp and jambalaya were awesome. The adult beverages were good, too. I had the strawberry fields. The Hur'a cane was pretty good too. We sat on the deck and listened to a great band. The atmosphere and service are just what you'd expect when visiting, so no disappointment here.

Google
Great Atmosphere for a Blues House in New Orleans! Very very good singers and band. Best BLUES I have been to.

Google
The staff at HOB New Orleans really go out of their way to make sure you have a good time. I had an injury that gave me mobility issues and they were so kind and accomodating.

Yelp
We had reservations but didn't need them as it was empty. My daughter was attending a concert so we decided to take her to get something to eat before meeting up with her friends. The waitress was pleasantly nice. She was very attentive in the beginning. It was Super Bowl, so it was nice to be seated in a booth with a TV though it was difficult to hear with the loud live band playing outside. The band was not only loud, but played a rock music which of course made it louder and there wasn't much h of a crowd outside so I'm not sure why they were so loud. One of the managers or perhaps an employee was also annoyed by the loudness and asked them to play a bit less loud. The menu was pretty blah, nothing that stood out at all. I had a salmon salad, my daughter had the buffalo tenders, and my boyfriend had a burger. The bill was about $87 which included a 22% gratuity. Pretty pricy in my opinion for an Applebees like menu. Oh, I did have a raspberry lemon drop which was extremely sweet and I didn't taste any vodka. There was another staff member who kindly came to turn our TV up and we didn't have to ask. I don't think I'll come back to eat, but I'll certainly come back for a concert performance.

Yelp
We stopped in briefly. We were waiting to hear a music act. We sat at a table and were immediately greeted warmly. I love the atmosphere and the vibe here. We changed our minds about food, although the choices looked absolutely delicious (will circle back around). Had to leave as the band was just setting up. For the brief time I was there, I liked the vibe enough to definitely return.

Yelp
This venue has it all, good music, good food and good service. Must try if you're in the area.

Yelp
As a traveling foundation room member, I thought I'd take a peek at the NOLA foundation room. I was delighted when greeted by Alex, who was super friendly and accommodating. I went up stairs and saw the beautifully decorated room and met greeter Sly, who poured us a lovely glass of bubbly. Then, we saw a performance of Better Than Ezra. This foundation room may be small, but it has a powerful punch. The decor, history staff, art and music are soulful. Special shout out to Alex who gave us a history of the venue.

Yelp
Once you arrive at The House of Blues, service is wonderful and a delight, especially for out of towners. The menu is pretty standard but provides a variety of tastes when you arrive. Entertainment is great, people are happy, and the night is always special when at the House of Blues.

Yelp
I didn't eat their food but I did come for a concert and was working as a vendor. I thought everyone there was very helpful and the ambience was really nice. I got to meet the general manager and the owner and they were delightful. Would definitely recommend coming here for night out to listen to good music!

Yelp
I used to end up at HOB really often for a LOT of great shows and often attended many events here which typically led to experiences at their restaurant and bar. I've eaten in the HOB restaurant many times and it has always seemed to be inconsistent as sometimes it would be really good and other times really bad. The last good event I attended here had a lot of great food on offer and it was one of the most enjoyable events I have experienced here. These days it seems I rarely end up here and the frequency of performances I want to see playing here has drastically declined. It has also been quite awhile since I last attended any events here which in general there seem to be FAR fewer events happening in NOLA these days than there used to be. I used to know LOTS of people who were members of the Foundation Room here but these days there doesn't seem to be that many members left I know. I've kept hoping since the crazy times of the pandemic ended things would get back to normal and the fun times would return to NOLA but so far things just don't seem to be improving yet.

Yelp
After French Quarter Fest we were looking for a place to grab a quick bite to eat. I've never been to the HOB restaurant but it was close so we ducked in. The server was fantastic. She was nice and accommodating. The food was also quite delicious. My only complaint is the entrance. Finding the exact entrance is a bit confusing.

Carl H.

Yelp
It was the only place we could find in the French Quarter to bring my 18 & 20 year old. The wait staff was great, the food was fantastic (just like the other House of Blues locations. The live Band was outstanding
google avatar

Maia B.

Yelp
the food was absolutely delicious but my evening here was completely problematic. it wasn't crowded at all and service took foreverrrr. it was definitely the slowest restaurant i've been to in so long. the salad we ordered came out messed up and the waitress recognized that, but still acted annoyed that we asked for it to be sent back. overall disappointed, but as for food quality and atmosphere it was great.
google avatar

Taylor B.

Yelp
Food was yummy. Service was good, kind, and polite. The live music was great! I ate inside then moved outside for the music when I was done eating. So fun! A great atmosphere!!

Yelp
Cajun Chicken Pasta was DEVINE, honestly the best ive ever had however the other 2 people I was with did not enjoy their drinks or food. The waitress was over sat but very honest & took care of anything we needed, just at a delay. The place is what you would exempt a HoB to be like. Will be back.
google avatar

Sal S.

Yelp
It is what it is. Server was nice, food was ho-hum. It wasn't overpriced per se, just ho-hum. If you're going to the HOB for a concert and want to grab a bite before hand, it's OK. I promise it won't be hard getting a table, barely a soul in the place. Wonder why.
google avatar

Katie A.

Yelp
Burgers were incredible and the atmosphere was captivating and wonderful. The live music was great and the restaurant was beautiful. Service wasn't the best, but not terrible either.
google avatar

Mya B.

Yelp
When you walk into this place, the atmosphere is amazing. It feels like the walls are talking to you with history. This place is a popular restaurant in New Orleans so make sure you have a reservation of head of time as they get booked very quickly. I ordered the Cajun chicken pasta it was good but I was eyeing my family members meals they got the fried chicken with mashed potatoes that dish was phenomenal I would recommend it. Since the place was busy, it meant the server was busy to. I feel like they could've checked in a little bit more.
google avatar

Yelp
One of my favorite places are open and serving up deliciousness!!! Alexis, our server was amazing. The voodoo garden was a grand experience for the hubby and I. This was the first date we have had in a while. This is the first House of Blues to reopen after the pandemic. First up apps...Voodoo shrimp: Sauteed shrimp in abita beer sauce served o er jalepeno cheese cornbread Bbq brisket nachos: Slow smoked bbq brisket, house cut tortilla chips, aged cheddar, avocado, roasted corn salsa, red onion and cheese! AMAZING!!!!!! We really enjoyed the fried chicken sandwich called 'The yardbird' . Amazing ingredients: Bourbon buttered fried chicken with slaw, buffalo aoli. Bread pudding to go!! Can't wait to taste. P.S. Get the mojito at bar!!

Yelp
Very nice venue! I have passed by many times but never stopped in. I attended a party recently for yelp elites. Sadly I was forced to leave early by work issues so I wasn't able to absorb the entire experience. What I saw I loved. Had a chance to mingle with some of the young staffers and they are all sold on the dream. They are there to make the magic happen for the guests! They bring it! Someone there is an exceptional leader/vision caster. Enjoyed all the passed around edibles. Had my first impossible burger. Shockingly burgeresque! The bar tenders were feeling the excitement too with their green Halloween themed punch. It was great. My only complaint was the noise level but I just struggle in these noisy environments. I'm not the target age range sadly! How the mighty have fallen! Keep up the good work. Hope to return soon and take in what I missed.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite spot in French Quarter. The restaurant decor is very very cool (especially the ceiling/roof) and provides a good ambiance. The live music here is fantastic and everyone here has enjoyed it. Now let's take about food.... The food here is truly top notch. When we came there are actually a few items that are not available on the menu, which is a bummer because I really wanted to try the Shrimp Po'boy and brussels sprouts. We ordered the jambalaya, pulled pork burger, and Cajun chicken pasta instead, and boy oh boy the food is absolutely delicious. If I am staying here for longer, I will most certainly frequent here again.

Yelp
Went here on a Thursday night after doing a ghost and phantom tour... place was not packed at all and outside they had some outside construction going on but nothing to defer you from going here Bill was our server and her was very engaging and prompt as I told him I wasn't too hungry so he gave me some suggestions There was a musician playing however he wasn't good at all..that part I was totally disappointed about because there is always good music at house of blues...so therefore that is why I'm giving it 3 stars...even the people across from us said that this music was not the New Orleans experience they thought they would have here Food was good and we were able to get our "free" dessert by checking in on yelp

Yelp
Walking around the area with some friends that are local and we stopped in to get some dinner since it was kid friendly. We sat out back in the voodoo garden to listen to the free live music and grab some food. Ordered a mojito and hubby got the hurricane. I got the impossible burger and he ordered the yardbird. The impossible burger was the best vegan patty I have had in a while. It was so good I had to double check and make sure it wasn't a beef patty by mistake. Flavorful and juicy and the buttery bun just sealed the deal. I ordered it with a salad instead of fries and it was actually a decent size salad on the side. The yardbird was super packed in between the buns and stacked high with slaw. Loved the buttered bun and the chicken was crispy on the outside and nice juicy inside. Chicken was tender, the Cole slaw was good and pickles added a little extra flavor to the mix. Fries were good and seasoned lightly. Server was great and the live music was awesome. Loved sitting out under the tent enjoying dinner in the fresh air.

Yelp
We were on our way to the hotel after spending a day in Jackson Square and stopped in here to grab a drink, listen to some music and share an appetizer. The music was great, the bartender had never made a drink I was looking for so she gave us a few different drinks to try in her attempt to get it right and the nachos were so fricken good. Great atmosphere and staff was extremely nice.
google avatar

Natasha B.

Yelp
I have never been to the House of Blues and what a cool restaurant/bar! We missed happy hour which is from 3-6pm but luckily there was live music starting at 630pm. We ordered the brisket nachos and Cajun fries to share. 10/10- the food was delicious!! So happy with our order. The hostess and our waitress, Rebecca, were very nice and attentive. Highly recommend this place as eating/drinking with live music is always great!!
google avatar

Glydia C.

Yelp
Food was disappointing. Their salad was just some leaves sprinkled with a few pieces of whatever else came with the salad. We thought it would be a good idea to stop in since it's the original House of Blues but we saw part of one band and that was it. I think you have to come here specifically for a show. Don't just come in thinking you'll eat and see some music.
google avatar

Yliana H.

Yelp
The food is absolutely delicious! You can't go wrong with anything you order here! And their drinks--absolutely great! My family had an amazing waiter that was very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. The food was hot and came out pretty quickly. This place is a MUST!!

Yelp
Visited this place while in NOLA. We loved the music. Food was on point and the drinks satisfied our thirst. I would definitely visit. Great customer service.

Yelp
Stopped in on a Thursday right around the time that Happy Hour was about to end. The bartender was kind enough to extend it for us. Which we truly appreciated, it's the little things that show that you value your customers. I partook in some beer while here and at the prices they had, I was pleasantly surprised. My friends had decided to get an appetizer while we were here. I had already eaten or I would have selected something. They went with gator bites, at least that's what they told me. I would have tried one, but the corn dusting coating isn't the best for me. They said it was good and the dipping sauces were great. They said the hotter one doesn't hit you right away but sticks around for a bit afterwards. The live music was great to listen to in here, made for a lighter experience. I also loved the decor. I'm a sucker for that type of thing. I know to some it may look cheesy, but I love when a place taps into the area to pull inspiration for the way they look and act within the community. Store inside was kind of cool too, great place to pick up a souvenir.
google avatar

Alisha N.

Yelp
My friend and I came here right before a show in their venue. This was our first time dining here and I enjoyed the vibes. We sat at the bar which is located outside and in the back of the restaurant. It's covered, which was nice because it was raining that day. The staff is really friendly. Even with them having an artist there they still had live local entertainment near the bar area which was pretty cool to me. Great happy hour selections. I got a flatbread pizza for $8 and a cocktail for $5. Happy hour is from 3-6pm.
google avatar

Bob E.

Yelp
The House of Blues is where it all started as far as HoBs goes. This is the first location that the city wanted so badly it created a special entertainment district. The Foundation Room is worth the membership providing members and guests an intimate bar and music venue. The intimacy is set aside for later performances of all kinds of music, which is good fun. The bar is solid and staffed with really good tenders. The food is good. Please note there is a difference between the restaurant downstairs and the Foundation Room, when it comes to menu. Although you will be unhappy with either menu they are just very different. The Foundation Room is a great place to relax to music with fine drinks and catchup with anyone.

Treva H.

Yelp
We sat outside and it was very nice. The food was just okay, we had the Salmon dinner. The drinks were expensive and were probably a 4 ounce pour total to include the liquor and mixer. There are other places with a lot better food and drink offers.
google avatar

Kenya H.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to visit in New Orleans. The atmosphere is great with the music but the food is really spectacular for a somewhat chain restaurant. The ribs are fall off the bone good the beans and coleslaw with that plate is exceptional. I also ordered the keylime pie and it was huge. I went there twice in the span of two days and brought additional people the second day. I would definitely make this a go to place in New Orleans for at least a meal if you had to choose. And I've been to all the famous and populat places in New Orleans and you should add this to your list over some of them.
google avatar

Kelsi D.

Yelp
We only came in to check the place out and have a quick drink. But upon arrival we were greeted by multiple ladies and able to sit at the bar and order a drink. The bartender took great care with making my drink and it was absolutely beautiful when she gave it to me. The average price of drinks in this area of New Orleans is a little higher at about $12, but the drink was really refreshing on the hot day. After scoping out all the cool decor inside, we decided to enjoy our drinks in the Voodoo Garden. Which sounds a little Cooke than it actually is but it was nice to be able to enjoy a cocktail with the few of some French quarter balconies under the safety of a veranda to block any weather that may come by.

Yelp
Disclaimer: My party and I were suppose to have a reservation with House of Blues Foundation Room, which I'm under the impression is a different experience. However turns out our reservation wasn't 'real' since the location was closed for Ash Wednesday. Recommend that when making reservations you call rather than using the online site. After having experienced that faux pas my party and I were intent to make the best of the situation in the House of Blues Restaurant. One word to describe my experience is underwhelming. The music was okay and Sam our waitress did her best to be accommodating, but when it came to the food I wasn't impressed. Yes it was pretty, country fried steak and a cup of gumbo, however it was mediocre in taste. The steak was dry and under seasoned and I've been in New Orleans all week and that was definitely the worse gumbo I've had (it was meh and the texture of the rice was wrong). Perhaps they were still recovering from the Mardi Gras rush but service was slow (didn't get our appetizers till after an hour of being there) and perhaps the main chef staff was burnt out but I can't say this experience was worth the 30$ I spent. Won't be back anytime soon.

Yelp
LIVE MUSIC is the energy that make it come to life.. but great food & drinks are wonderful too!

Yelp
I miss coming here. Although a lot has changed since my dad performed the opening show in 1992, it's still a lot like I remembered. The food has changed over the years, but I definitely think they are on an upward shift. Everything we tried was amazing! The staff was very accommodating when I requested to sit at my father, Gatemouth Brown's booth. It's the only booth dedicated to an artist, and it is full of beautiful portrait artwork, as well as soft cushioned booths. If you're looking for a soulful and atmospheric place to get decent food, this is always a fun place. I'm looking forward to visiting with the kids more often!
google avatar

Tracy P.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere! My boyfriend and I came here for our first meal in NOLA. Loved how it was literally around the corner from where we stayed. Our server was Bri, and she was great! Way to feel the southern hospitality. I ordered the gumbo and my boyfriend ordered the jambalaya. Both were amazing! I would pick the jambalaya over the gumbo, though. We also shared the HOB wings and they were so good! It was nice they had a live performance while we were there. Don't forget to look up when you're inside!

Melly H.

Yelp
Did Red Table reservations and asked to sit outside for their Blues and Burgers Night only to be told a few hours before hand that they had a private event in their outdoor patio!
google avatar

Melanie G.

Yelp
We made a reservation for 8pm on a Thursday. When we showed up we noticed the place was less than half full. That quickly changed as did the atmosphere. They had live musician and full bar. Staff was super friendly but to a fault. Our waitress (Sierra) forgot to take our food order. She did however, try to take the time to learn our names and address us properly. And she was very nice. Food was fantastic. My husband liked his jambalaya but wished it had more sausage. My brisket platter was perfect, as it had many sides and I was able to have small samples of all they had to offer.
google avatar

Bob P.

Yelp
I just love the vibe here. It's always a good NOLA stop for a cocktail and apps and the service has always been excellent. We hit it just right on a Sunday afternoon and the entertainment, a solo guitar player, was an added surprise!
google avatar

Marcia V.

Yelp
I was here for a special event where we had a large section reserved for our private use. We had access to 2 bars just for our party and buffet of a basic salad and red beans and rice. The food was ok, and the bartenders were friendly, considering our rambunctious and rowdy party. I am not sure House of Blues is somewhere I would have picked on my own, it was still nice to be able to check it out.
google avatar

Rebecca K.

Yelp
First of all, the hurricane is wayyy better than Pat O'Brien's. We ordered brisket nachos, pulled pork sandwich and Cajun pasta. They were all super delicious and we soon realized we ordered way too much food. Our server was absolutely awesome. She recognized it was our first time at HOB and first time in New Orleans. She gave us some great suggestions on places to go and things to do. She even gave us a map and showed us where everything was located in relation to where we were staying. She rocked! I wish I remembered her name so I could give her a shoutout. Love this place, the food, the atmosphere, the staff. I highly recommend!
google avatar

Kelly B.

Yelp
Our waitress Rochelle W. was the most amazing, attentive, fast, caring, funny and the bomb customer service she provided was really like nothing else I have ever experienced...I thank her for making my final night in New Orleans a night we will never forget. If anyone reading this review gets a chance to visit the House Of Blues in New Orleans ask to sit in Rochelle's section because she Rocks!!! Let's make her a celebrity!!!! Kelly from California
google avatar

Ivette G.

Yelp
On our last day of our New Orleans trip we wanted to have some BBQ, and boy did we have the best!! Our server was Cheryl and she was AMAZING! She took her time and explained the menu to us. The ambiance was super pleasant and kid friendly.
google avatar

Peter T.

Yelp
We went to the HoB in NOLA for dinner and it was really good! The service was excellent with great choice of Southern Cajun inspired dishes. We had the Cajun fettuccine, the grilled chicken burger with sides of french fries, and a cheese pizza pie. They were delicious! As part of dessert, we had the HoB inspired french vanilla ice cream with two scoops. There's usually live blues music from local artists starting around 8:00pm CDT. The only caveat is that we were sitting on the tented outside "patio" area and there were folks smoking cigarettes about 2 tables away from us. Since we're from California and allergic to cigarette smoke, we asked the waitress a couple of times to ask the customers to extinguish their cigarettes, which they did and then lit up again.
google avatar

Dayna G.

Yelp
Dined here about 2 decades ago and found an old menu that I saved. I recall it being delish but oddly I wrote on the back with "waitress was unkind & forgetful" so if I returned, it would be for the food.
google avatar

Phuong N.

Yelp
My friend and I came early for happy hours before our concert. We both order two items each and share. I love jalapeno so I got the jalapeno cornbread and also the chicken tenders. Ria got the brisket nachos and mac & cheese. We didn't realize how huge the nachos were when it came out. We barely made a dent on the nachos because we ate almost all the jalapeno cornbread. The jalapeno cornbread was the best of all four snacks/appetizer we ordered. It was so moist and flavorful with a side of sweet honey butter. The chicken tenders were thin cut and battered and dry. The fries that came with it didn't taste that great either. It taste like it been fry and was left in the warmer too long before being served. The mac & cheese skillet was ok, we both agreed the pasta would taste better if it was soft. I would definitely come back for more jalapeno cornbread and the nachos. Our server Mike was so helpful and friendly, asking if everything was ok everytime he passes by. So the three stars are for the food and the one star to make four is for staffs and the live entertainment. Two guys were killing it with their guitar and singing. We were well entertained will eating.

Yelp
Bleh. Not bad but certainly not good. The service was somewhat pushy and the music did not start as advertised. We are to blame from coming here with so many good dining places within a stone's throw. I take responsibility but I do so with a warning - enjoy the other wonderful local spots and musicians. The food elsewhere is a better tasting, better valued and has better ambiance. If you need a fix with a chain restaurant. Okay, but you have been warned.
google avatar

Holly D.

Yelp
As far as the food alone goes, I'd give this place a 4, but the service was over-the-top fantastic. Granted, the place wasn't that busy, but for a renowned music venue to cater to my little family at 6pm and feed us, they treated us like royalty. The manager came to check on us a couple of times, and especially after my kid's pizza came out a little bit late. He gave us a free order of fries for not having it out at the same time as the rest of our food (not necessary, but nice nonetheless). There was music playing one room over, which I was thankful for. We could hear it, but it wasn't so loud that my kids were having a fit. One wall of separation proved to be just right for them. They were totally ingrigued and enjoyed the evening. Would totally come back for atmosphere and service alone.

Yelp
This place was ok. Made a reservation and w as liked right in. Food good atmosphere good music was good. Averaged price

Yelp
Don't list your hours as open at a certain time on your doors and website if you are not going to be open. Seems to be a theme throughout New Orleans. And I'm not interested in hearing "Covid" as a bs excuse. For that lack of any sort of customer service, I do not recommend going here.

Yelp
Found the House of Blues, New Orleans establishment on Yelp with good reviews and being a national trademark name we decided to have dinner there. However, as we approached the entrance to dine in we were told that the restaurant is closed due to "renovations" and the rest of the establishment was closed due to a private event. It would have been appropriate to let potential customers know either on Yelp or their HOB site of this condition prior to patrons marking the trip to it's doors.
