House of Empanadas

This is my new favorite place. Best in Lancaster. We ordered the Philly empanadas and chicken. The churrasco plate, AMAZING!!! And the agua de guanabana, mango, and passion fruit to make it all the perfect combination of flavors. I'm still eating and writing this review. You have to give this place a try. Don't miss out

Omg! What can be said about house of empanadas? That it was worth me.driving 2 hours just to try these amazing delicious empanadas. The CUBAN is to die for. Such amazing flavors in your mouth and you can tell they are made with nothing but love and made fresh once you place your order. IF ITS YOUR 1ST time trying PUERTORICAN FOOD YOU WONT REGRET IT. You will find yourself coming back for more. Not to mention the dedication and love put into the food. Churro empanada, Mac n cheese empanada, beef empanada, pizza empanada, la jibarita empanada,( mind you my son is picky and he loved loved the pizza empanada). YOU WONT LEAVE DISAPPOINTED! We were in the neighborhood in search of a flea market which was unfortunately closed. We saw this place on our way back home and decided to stop by and try. We were blown away by how tasty everything was and the service was amazing! I HIGHLY recommend you try their “La Jibarita” empanada. It was crazy good! And it comes with a delicious mango salsa! We also tried and loved their “Plato tipico” which comes with pulled pork, yellow rice, a salad, and fried sweet plantain. Can’t wait to come back to this place already!

Where can I begin, firstly the greeting made you feel at home. The moment you go in they greet you like they known you forever. Once you look at the menu you want to try everything. I ordered the cubana sandwich, empanada called la jaribarita, guava with cheese, churro empanada’s pizza empanada’s. I have to admit EVERYTHING was DELICIOUS. You can taste the love ❤️ they create their food. I wanted to devour the cubana the moment I took the 1st bite. Delicious at its finest. Will be returning soon to try other items on their menu.

If I could give this place a higher review than 5 stars, I would! The food quality here is amazing. This is hands down the best Puerto Rican food in Southern California! The empanadas were all delicious! The crispness when you bite in and the inside of any of these are stuffed with deliciousness. All of them were good in their own way! Both sandwiches we tried were great but the one that stood out the most was the one with tostones. They also make the best abichuelas! And don’t forget to order the chicken chicharron, you will not be disappointed. The chicken is seasoned well, crunchy on the outside and meaty and juicy on the inside. What an incredible establishment. The inside is spacious and neat. The staff is wonderful and welcoming. They do get busy and keep in mind that they are doing everything from scratch. If you’re on your lunch break order over the phone. If you have time to wait then I promise you it’s worth the wait!

DELICIOUS!!! My husband and I visited this restaurant on 07/29/23 and were not disappointed. The service was A + and the food is amazing. We had the octopus, shrimp creole and picadillo empanadas and were blown away. Not salty or greasy and the dough was flavorful and flaky. Then tried the guava and cheese empanada and was just so happy I bought 3. The melted guava mixed with the cheese made it taste buttery and sweet. We are definitely going back to enjoy the rest of the menu. The friendliness of the owner Jessica and her children made the visit perfect. Thank you for the great food and much success!!

I purely stumbled into this place by accident after my car broke down across the street. After I got the car towed, I chose this location to get picked up by a Lyft driver. I was starving and had some time before getting picked up so I ordered an empanada. Beyond delicious! Came back the next day to try out some more empanadas. I'm about to recommend this place to everyone and bring some friends next time. Extremely friendly service as well!

Tried this today for the first time it was delicious. El Cubanito Empanada was my favorite I also liked the Philly cheese empanada. My boyfriend had the pepperoni pizza empanada he liked it as well . We also got the dish of the day idk the name but it was also very delicious. I will definitely be going back . The customer service was excellent. If you have a 30min lunch I would recommend calling ahead of time so your food can me ready .

I love empanadas but these were on point! Lots of options as well. Delicious. The service was great, attentive and fast. The ambiance was nice, clean and chill. Will be coming back!

I work nearby so I decided to stop here for lunch and the empanadas were so good! I believe they were $3-4 a pop and I was told that 2 make a meal. They were very filling. I loved the beef and cheese. The El Cubano was one of their more popular flavors so I decided to try it. It was not my cup of tea, but it had lots of ingredients in it so I can see why it would be appealing to some. The woman who took my order was so nice and friendly, and was happy to give recommendations and answer my questions. There were plenty of clean tables open for me to sit at while I ate on my lunch break. I will be back!

We were driving back from Northern California and got a bit hungry, so we decided to look for some Puerto Rican food since there are a few known restaurants in LA. We came across this little gem in the middle of a food truck gathering. I called, and the lady was extremely nice, giving me detailed instructions on how to get there. Let me tell you, their empanadas are on point. Every place I've ever eaten empanadas at, the chicken ones are always dry (never been a fan), but these were so moist and full of flavor. I ate three chicken empanadas and one ground beef and cheese, which was amazing. Great family, great service, and they made my family feel at home. I highly recommend trying their empanadas. They also mentioned that in a couple of months, they will be serving full-blown Puerto Rican food at the Sunday food truck festival in LA. (Sorry I don't know the name of the location as I mentioned I was just driving through).

Very authentic empanadas ever had in LA Was not able to find authentic empanadas in LA until I found this golden spot. Owner is super nice and store is so new and clean. Best best best You must try

I used to work in Gardena, and the only place to get really good empanadas was Continental Gourmet in Gardena. I'm too far to drive to Gardena. Imagine my surprise when I heard the house of Empanadas was opening up. I've gone twice, and each time, I ordered something different. They have something for everyone! My favorite is beef cheese empanadas with Puerto Rican Picadillo. The monte Cristo & the jibradito are pretty good, too. I haven't tried their sweet ones, but I'm definitely going to. Also, the Cubano sandwich is so good and flavorful. They are located off Alameda off the freeway by Jersey Mike Subs. They staff is friendly and they will help you with suggestions if you're not sure what to order. The restaurant is clean but small, so it's not a good spot for large parties. You can definitely place an order a head of time using grubhub and then just pick it up. They have a combo of 2 empanadas and a drink special. They also have import soda like cola champagne, which I love. Note that the imported sodas are not part of the combo. The empanadas are definitely the perfect size, and you'll fill up with just 2. I am so happy there's a variety in Vernon that I can go to for my lunch.

This place is SO good!! It's called House of Empanadas, and they do have a good variety of empanadas. BUT they also have some different Puerto Rican dishes as well! I had the pernil plate with white rice and habichuelas (beans) and a pizza empanada. So, so good. Service was friendly and the restaurant is modern and clean with good seating. This place is located in an industrial area in Vernon, but it's in a clean and safe plaza and worth the drive from wherever you are in LA and SoCal in general. Can't wait to come back!

Stumbled upon this place by accident. Stopped by to check it out. The place is clean, smelled fresh and clean, very friendly staff. Got two guava & cheese empanada to feed the sweet tooth along with watermelon and tamarindo juice. Delicious to say the least. Can't wait to go back and try the meat empanadas and sandwiches!

If I could give 10 stars I would! I ordered the guava and cheese empanada, beef and cheese empanada, fried flan, and tembleque cheese cake. They were all very delicious, but my favorite is definitely the guava and cheese, it's soooooooo good!

Wow wow wow! I tried the beef and cheese and pulled pork empanadas and the dough was so crispy, light and full of flavor. The inside was equally delicious. Such a perfect combination. My order came with a small side chimichurri and it was so delicious. I'm not local but looking forward to making my way here soon.

Placed an order for beef empanadas and churro. The picadillo is so tasty and the churro one with caramel filling was delicious. Will definitely keep ordering from this spot!

YES. SO SO SO GOOD. I've tried almost everything on the menu (and a few specials off-menu) and I can't label a fav because they're all so amazing. Delicious. On top of the incredible food, the owner is also a GEM. It's a really sweet family-run spot and I absolutely love everything about it.

Mmm Mmm good!! We drove 2 hrs to LA and stop in Vernon . We just had to try this place being Puerto Rican I wanted to try the beef empanadas so so good . They have chicken, pork one too . I loved the guava empanada . They were so nice Wepa till next time

Highly recommend this place! Made a quick stop here to charge our car and was met with friendly staff and very cute spot. We ordered the cubano and beef empanada. One of the best empanadas that I've ever tried. If I'm ever in the area again, I would definitely come back.

Pretty good. I've only ever had Tito's Market empanadas from El Monte but these were a bit different.... They were crispy and offered a ton of different flavors. Recommend and def going back.

The food is amazing. I haven't had a cubana that was so well done and the first bite has you hooked. The service is excellent the staff is super friendly and very welcoming. The ambiance is great they treat you like you are family. They are great the food is divine and it's a must place to visit. You will enjoy anything that you get there.
