"Though the namesake skewers are indeed a highlight at this University Hills stalwart, the menu branches out across the Eastern Mediterranean to include Greek spanakopita, Persian stews like ghorme sabzi with beef, wings in Lebanese-style garlic sauce, and more. It’s all ideally paired with the rich salted-yogurt drink called doogh. Takeout and delivery 11 a.m.–12 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily" - Eater Staff

The hummus was really good but the chicken shawarma was satisfactory. We also tried tried the Lebanese Beef Kabob which was good but could have been cooked for a little longer. Baklava was not fresh and was not warmed up properly when it was served because half of it was still cold. The Lebanese tea and coffee were good. The customer service was good and overall the food was good. We recommend this place as it is one of the halal restaurants in Denver.

Google
Very good traditional Lebanese food. Took a group of 4 we ordered a little off everything. Tea very good minty flavor very refreshing. I will come back next time I’m in Denver

Stopped for dinner and the hostess was very friendly. She brought out paper menus and let us look it over. We ordered lamb shish kabob, and beef shish kabob, we also ordered Dough which is a mint yogurt drink. The food did take a while to come but it wasn't an issue. When the food came it all looked very delicious. The lamb was tender and seasoned perfectly. What I did see was that it didn't come with Naan and we had to order that separately. I did wish that it came with Naan since the food tastes better when eating with Naan. The food was tasty and served well. Did wish that the plates were served with an additional side like hummus to go with the meat and the Naan. Great service and good food

We had to wait for quite a while before we ever saw an employee of any kind. We yelled and yelled with no response several times. Other customers joined in and after someone who wanted to place a To go order went back and found someone we finally got some service. We had already seated ourselves to wait for some sign of life but had no menus or table settings. The whole thing was very strange and didn't get much better once the cook and waitress knew we were there. We had to ask for silverware and napkins and I had to go look for a spoon after I was served my lentil soup. Now the food was an entirely different story. Everything was incredible. The hummus was the smoothest I've ever had and I make my own and take the skin off every single garbanzo bean so it comes out creamy. This was better. The lentil soup was great as well. My husband got the shawarma which was okay. I got the combo platter and everything was really tasty.

Google
Nothing memorable about the Middle Eastern food from the House of Kabob. You can get this generic fare at other restaurants. The bill is padded with a few junk fees that you will see at the end of your meal.

Google
The food was flavorful and delicious. Great friendly service. I ordered the baba ganó us and the chicken taok. The baba had amazing roasted flavor and great portions. The menus could use a description of what each dish is for those that aren't regulares. If not they are forced to asked and use the attendants time or be surprised when the food comes. Bon appetite.

Google
Falafel was SO good. Tons of meat on the kabob...delicious and a great value. Kanafe was such a treat for dessert. Everything tasted super fresh. Will definitely be coming back.

The beat Mediterranean place so far! The Lebanese sheesh kabob ia juicy and well marinated unlike other restaurants. Hummus is fresh and overall food is tasty. Veg place was great as well, especially rice had a rich flavour!

Yelp
Last week I went to House of Kebab to try it after I got off of work. I wanted the Kobideh sandwich and they told me that they were out of it. Instead, I got the Chicken Shawarma sandwich. There was a plentiful amount of food with fries that I had to order separate from the Chicken Shawarma. I would have preferred it to be a combo or a meal. The sandwich wasn't anything to rave about. There was plenty of meat and veggies in the sandwich. I enjoyed that aspect of it. I just didn't feel there was enough flavor. The fries had somewhat of a spicy seasoning on it, which was quite odd to me. I requested to not get any condiments or napkins because I was going straight home. The people who work there are very friendly and the restaurant is well-kept and clean. I used the restroom and that was clean as well. Parking was efficient, I went during mid-afternoon around 2 o'clock, my boss let me leave early on a Friday. I would like to go back and try the Kobideh kebab, but if that doesn't turn out well, I don't think I will attend this restaurant again.

Yelp
Super good! The chicken Shawarma was the best, sooo flavorful fresh and delicious! Super clean atmosphere and great service! I recommend this place!

Yelp
The food I ordered: Kobeideh kabob ( kefta kabob), tabouli salad, and stuffed grape leaves The taste: 2 out of 5 The Kobeidea kabob tasted too much cumin. It smells someone's terrible armpits. It made me nauseated. Also, rice has terrible flavor, something not right. I don't want to remember the taste. Horrifying. Tabouli was awful. It was watery and sour like home-made pickles and Konbucha. It tasted similar to 3 day old salad!! Yikes!! Stuffed grape leaves was surprisingly good! The service: 5 out of 5 My order was for pickup. The server was nice. The price : The price was top-class nice Middle-Eastern restaurant in NY. Yes, it was overly priced. My opinion: If you want to go to eat authentic and decent Middle Eastern food, you should go somewhere else. The food I tried was waste of money.

Clement C.

Yelp
The food here is very good, one of the better Middle Eastern restaurants in Denver. The lamb shank I had today was tender with a nice tasty broth that went well with the rice. I wish the meal would come with a little humus as a side instead of just meat and rice. They still put a 2.5% service fee on the tab.

Chad G.

Yelp
They make the best falafel I've had in the city. Crisp, amazingly aromatic, great texture and not a heavy fry. I got both lamb and chicken shawarma. The lamb was super tender with great seasoning and I love the tomato, bell pepper and onion on the kabob. The shawarma was tender and delicious, but I prefer it to fe grilled, I like a char on a kabob.

Jess Z.

Yelp
Such an authentic & delicious restaurant. You can tell the people working here love what they do, plus the food is amazing!!!

Rachel S.

Yelp
Best Lebanese in denver hands down! The hummus, gyro platter and Vegetarian platter is fantastic and so tasty. I've ordered out from there so many times it's crazy!

Yelp
Hello, I am writing this review because today I came to this restaurant with my daughters, we really like Mediterranean food and we decided to try a new place but this time it was unpleasant and disappointing, I ordered lamb kabob and the meat was very hard and chewy, I still feel the food stuck in my chest, my daughters asked me to leave that place since the smell of pee came out of the bathroom all the way to our table but I was trying to be respectful and decided to wait for the food, after all it was a Very bad experience, the truth is that this place is not recommended at all. I asked for a refund and I was denied, I hope this helps someone not to spend their time or money on here,

Yelp
Don't waste your money on this worthless restaurant, the service is zero, the food is very bad

Yelp
This was probably the worst service I have ever had at a restaurant. The server said he would be right with me and I had to wait nearly 10 minutes for him to come over with a menu - mind you there was only one other customer in the place. He immediately asked me if I know what I wanted and I politely asked him to give me a minute. The menu looked pretty good, but the prices were a little steep, especially for the poor quality of service. The waiter went and sat in the corner on his phone and made a point not to look at me. I closed my menu and stared at him for several minutes before I got up and left. I hope this teaches them a lesson about customer service

Tim G.

Yelp
Clean and fast service. We ordered hummus for appetizer and it was fantastic with fresh warm pita bread. For dinner we ordered kubideh and gormeh Sabzi which both were great. I will come back again fo sho

Heather B.

Yelp
This was a great spot for dinner. From the customer service to the meals we ordered, my friends and I were very happy. We ordered a little bit of everything for takeout. The woman that took our order over the phone was so helpful and gave great recommendations. Our favorites from the multiple things we got were the lamb curry, baba ghanoush, and the chicken shawarma.

Anna C.

Yelp
The most AMAZING hummus I've ever had! It was almost like it was whipped, I could've just had that and been happy! We also had the falafel which was the perfect crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. The lamb gyro plate was very delicious as well. Inside was very clean and felt that all the precautions were taken to keep us safe. They did a great job with the social distancing, only about half the table were available for seating and the staff all wore masks. They were extremely friendly and the food was fresh and came to the table quickly. Just a heads up, parking is a bit t

Yelp
This restaurant is not like restaurant it was very poor service and very bad food it is very less than to every restaurant latest service and least food has

Ferhod A.

Yelp
This location has had numerous owners through the years and the new owners are by far the best in terms of service and quality of food

Chris B.

Yelp
House of Kabob is my new favorite spot for Lebanese/Mediterranean food. The Chicken and Beef Shawarma are amazing and their Hummus and Lebni are fantastic apps to get started. I will continue to visit House of Kabob and I recommend it to everyone.

Aisha T.

Yelp
One of the top ten restaurants I recommend if you are Muslim and want to eat at a place like home made food from your auntys or grandmas! This place is perfect for the blessed food served! The rice is amazing and the chicken is perfect with the spices and curry's used. The chutney is very well just wish it would come in a bigger cup! Lol

Stephen B.

Yelp
Best kabobs ever!!! Seriously, the food here is so good we immediately made plans to return for another meal. The food not only tasted great, but they go out of their way to make it beautiful. Service was attentive and helpful, and the prices were reasonable.

Kayla P.

Yelp
My first time trying Persian food and I was blown away! Absolutely delicious I had the kebab combo. I will be back. Very friendly service as well!

Mohamad E.

Yelp
Great food, and great service. The gentleman that greeted me was quite friendly. I believe his name was Hamoodi, he was super welcoming and friendly. Would definitely go back, overall service was 10 out of 10 and food was 9 out of 10.

Maranda T.

Yelp
We ordered the falafel sandwich and lunch combo - it was fantastic. The minute we picked it up and got in the car, the food smelled FANTASTIC - seriously drool worthy. We didn't take any photos - ate too fast! LOL. We'll snap photos next time! Support your small businesses!! (:

Lee P.

Yelp
Beef shawarma was awesome, and so was the hummus and pita. Would definitely recommend

Sue R.

Yelp
Extremely disappointed in the food tonight! $30.00 for the Tabbouleh salad and chicken kabobs with saffron rice! The chicken was so dry it was inedible and the only saffron rice was a small amount on top of the white rice! The price for the kabob was $10.00 higher in the restaurant than online! Definitely not worth the money! We definitely won't go back!

Nikki N.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible. I ordered the Lebanese beef kabob, extremely tender and flavorful. I cannot wait to go back for the lamb. Super impressed. Highly recommend!!!

Simeon J.

Yelp
Ordered Persian Eggplant, veggie kabob, Mango Juice and Baklava. The Persian Eggplant was out of this world! Perfectly blended seasonings with a hint of saffron. If you like Baba Ganoush, you MUST come try this. The Veggie kabob, if you Do not cover it in the Persian variant of the Tzatziki is fantastic. Different from the Greek version, as it lacks the cucumber and has much more garlic. This made up for the underseasoning, but a little of their salad dressing on the veggies before they went on the grill would have gone a long way. The baklava was FANTASTIC. Perfectly baked and just the right amount of syrup so that it could be eaten with the fingers without either falling apart or leaving you so sticky that you can climb the walls. As a Denver native, if you would have asked me 25 years ago whether Damascus (two doors down) or House of Kabob would still be around today, I would have told you "Damascus, yes. Hiuse if Kabob, no." Given that Damascus is closed now and House of Kabob has redecorated and redone their menu, I wkuld clearly have been wrong

Karen H.

Yelp
House of Kabob offers some of the best food in Denver. It's just a notch above! It might seem, but the iced tea was seriously the best iced tea I've ever had. But the kabobs and hummus and the rice.... just so yummy.

Zaki A.

Yelp
Phenomenal restaurant. Cashier was really friendly and helpful. I ordered the sultan combo, a chicken shawerma, and a koobedeh wrap. Delicious all around, would order again! Really hits the spot for Arab/Persian food and thats coming from 4 Iraqis!

Emily G.

Yelp
Best hummus I have had other than in Dearborn MI. The falafel is by far the best I've ever had. The fattoush is delicious and so was the lentil soup! Definitely coming back here again and again. So happy to have found delicious Lebanese food in Denver.

Yulia Z.

Yelp
No I won't go back I got bad food poisoning. It's hard for them to keep everything fresh. They don't have too much traffic.

Hanna A.

Yelp
If you're looking for some good middle eastern food, this is the place to try. I have tried so many spots in Denver and none of them come close. The portions and flavors here are great. My two favorite dishes to get are the chicken shawarma plate, and the lamb shank plate. Both come with a delicious basmati rice. They also have hummus that is to die for. I've also tried the hummus with the gyro meat and the gyro meat is superb. Most entrees come with a mediterranean style salad and that's delicious as well.

Taylor S.

Yelp
This restaurant, although it doesn't look like much on the outside is INCREDIBLE!!! I would recommend this place to anyone! Service is wonderful, food is amazing!

Tosin O.

Yelp
Came here on a friend recommendation. Great food! Very healthy and you feel great after eating it. Unlike a lot of other places. Best hummus in denver hands down. Highly recommend this place place. Try it out.

Yelp
When we first moved to CO, we discovered the House of Kabob when we were craving Persian food, specifically Koobideh. We were pleased with our order then and continue to enjoy them on occasion to this day. Koobideh is flavorful; when you combine it with the accompaniments of grilled tomatoes, yogurt, and a health sprinkling of sumac over their fragrant rice, you have one great bite. On this occasion, the Koobideh was a little salty; I also generally enjoy the Basmati rice with some of the rice infused with saffron. Today, the rice seemed seasoned with something else, not in a bad way, but not expected. Overall, the plate had a tartness I wasn't expecting. Parking is a little tight and tough in this small strip center so be aware. The center and the restaurant are a little dilapidated but the food is very good. Overall, it is a solid choice for us that we will continue to frequent when the craving hits.

Lauren A.

Yelp
Best kabob in town. Great sides, amazing hummus, and delicious soup. I ordered (delivery) the Lebanese chicken kabob that came with hummus, tabouleh and pita, and also got a cup of the chicken and veggie soup. and it all arrived hot and really hit the spot. The kabobs were grilled to perfection with green peppers and onions, and came with a garlic sauce I want to put on everything now. It was healthy but didn't feel too healthy-- so much flavor.

Ally W.

Yelp
I had a craving for kebobs one day while driving on Colorado Blvd. I passed the Mediterranean strip mall and thought to myself that with a name like House of Kebob, they better have some kebobs on their menu. I really liked my lunch and decided to return to try more menu items. I absolutely love their food. The hummus was prepared with more salt and olive oil than other hummus -- I like it! The ara-yes was like a thin Mediterranean hamburger, but served on pita bread instead of a hamburger bun. The menu stated that it is "grilled to a crisp," but it was just soft. For entrees, the sultan combo is a great way to sample all kinds of stuff: lamb, beef, chicken, falafel, hummus, eggplant, tabbouleh, stuffed grape leaves, salad, and basmati rice all on one plate. I also tried the fesenjan, which is a chicken stew cooked with walnuts and pomegranate sauce, and loved that as well. Their pita bread is served hot, which is awesome. My only complaint is that when I ordered the lamb kabobs, they were tiny and the bed of rice was huge. The meat portion of the sultan combo was small as well. I am a huge carnivore, so I want my meat, darnit! I am hungry just after writing this review. *drool* 1 star off: need more meat and less rice

Anthony C.

Yelp
My lamb kabobs were tender and delicious. They make great hummus too. I didn't know anything about this restaurant before I tried it, and now that I have, I think I will find an excuse to come back.

Mary C.

Yelp
Very sad of the outcome as we were very excited about trying this place out. They called first to tell us they did not have drinks available but would offer a refund (totally fine because stuff happens). We received our food on time but it did not have the complete order with the rice and salad as stated in the lamb shanks description. We called the restaurant and the person answering the phone argued for 5 minutes saying we had not paid? Finally she found out receipt and said they would have someone send the food ASAP. 40min later I call back for an ETA as we were still waiting to eat dinner. The person answering the phone again argued for 5 minutes saying we had not paid for the food. Again, she found the receipt and said we had paid but there was nothing she could do because she was busy and not able to deliver but would write a note for us to have an " I owe you" for the future. Eventually we got ahold of Grub Hub and they were really great and refunded the money ASAP. This was a terrible experience and I will not be ordering from her or recommending to friends. Food was not anywhere as good as other spots like Jerusalem Resteraunt. See picture for reference of menu.

Yelp
Nice place delicious food and best customer service, It is recommended! House of kabab is gonna be my favorite after this!

Gulzada A.

Yelp
It's a family owned restaurant. The food is as authentic as it can get to Persian food/Afghan food. I had Qorma Sabzi which was pretty good!! Love this place. Def check it out if you wanna try some good kababs!!

Sherzod M.

Yelp
The food was great! Everything was well cooked, and looked very appetizing. Overall I was happy with my food and Im glad I came here.

Zia Z.

Yelp
Very delicious, authentic, and very nice and cool People. I really enjoyed the food and great people.

Tina Z.

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time and LOVED it. Order arrived on time, good packaging, everything seemed fresh. We ordered the vegetarian combo plate and were very satisfied with everything. The falafel, tabbouleh and stuffed grape leaves were delicious. The hummus was the best I've ever had. Same with the pita- just really tasty and fresh. The Cheese Sambosek is like an egg roll, completely unique and savory. The real bomb was the rice. Yummy stuff! This place will definitely be our new go-to when we want healthy, delicious vegetarian fare. Great job!

Kristin S.

Yelp
We love it here! All the food is authentic, fresh and yummy! Be careful when following google maps because it will place you in the restaurant next door. Be sure to go to House of Kabob!! This place has been here for years and has been consistently great!

Leo Y Lou A.

Yelp
Absolutely terrible service. They took 30 minutes to serve our food. They brought the food at different times. My lamb was so disgusting it tasted like the meat was going bad. My husband ordered a lamb shank not a bone where the shank was. They had shaved most of the meat to the shank. My daughter's kabobs were served cold twice. I ordered chicken soup for my baby and they brought me 1/2 plate with no soup left after they placed it in the microwave. It was more like chicken stew. I am telling you, don't waste your hard earned dollars in this place. What a shame. Absolutely terrible.

Keith W.

Yelp
I've been to this small restaurant in a faded strip mall for lunch or an early supper maybe 6 or 8 times over the last 15 years, and have thoroughly enjoyed the food on each visit. I absolutely love their Ara-Yes appetizer - ground lamb with onions and spices in between two pitas. I've had kabobs, stews, falafel and shawarma sandwiches, and other delectable Middle Eastern treats on my various visits, and have never been disappointed by the amount or quality of the food. I brought my wife and son here on a Saturday a couple of weeks ago after watching his CU Rugby team play DU. My wife and I split the Ara-Yes and we all shared a falafel appetizer. My wife got the beef kabobs with extra salad and no rice, I got the standard beef kabobs, and our son got the lamb kabob. Everyone absolutely loved the food. The salads that come with the appetizers and meals are big, fully flavored, and unique. Our waiter was very curt and brusque, and the TV was showing weird (to me) Middle Eastern pop music videos. Apparently every Middle Eastern pop music video is filmed on the same beach with the same extras dancing the same dance - I quickly grew tired of them. I highly recommend this little restaurant's food. The atmosphere and service could use some improvement, but if you want some seriously great Eastern Mediterranean food, come here.

Kevin K.

Yelp
One word. Excellent! Food and service were just excellent. My fiance and I had lunch here today and we will be back. I hope we don't have to stand in a line though once word gets out on this gem.

Patrick D.

Yelp
We had a large interfaith dinner at our parish a few weeks back catered by this place. They were able to take in consideration's of those who are vegetarian as well as those who are observing kosher or hallel dietary restrictions. The food was both beautifully presented and delicious. Since then, I have come in for lunch and dinner to the restaurant it's self. It is part of what looks to be a rundown strip mall, but once inside they have created a really nice clean atmosphere, and of course the food is still wonderful. In a little spot where there is a strip of several Middle Eastern restaurants... This is truly a great choice! It is literally just steps away from a few other Middle Eastern restaurants as well as restaurants of other types, so the competition must be fierce! However this place really is one I would recommend both for dining in and for their catering options, which we found to be really above and beyond expectations!

Katie F.

Yelp
With a girls night VERY overdue, Anna R and I decided to introduce my grandma and her sister to some yummy eats and hookah! We stopped in for a few appetizers of fresh hummus & pitas, and a few other dishes i can't pronouce, but were amazingly delicious! Our server was friendly and very helpful when answering our menu questions! The food was flavorful and delicious and cost all of $25! SOLD! :) After finishing our snack, we headed next door to smoke some fresh hookah! Now the last time i was here, I was with mister Russell G and alooooot has changed since my last visit. First of all, they hand make the tobacco coals, so while it takes a little bit before you're able to smoke, the quality is outstanding. We smoked the mint, and "bob marley" mixtures and they were perfect! I'm finding myself falling more and more in love with this style, presentation and taste of food, so i will definitely return! :)
