I had a craving for kebobs one day while driving on Colorado Blvd. I passed the Mediterranean strip mall and thought to myself that with a name like House of Kebob, they better have some kebobs on their menu. I really liked my lunch and decided to return to try more menu items.
I absolutely love their food. The hummus was prepared with more salt and olive oil than other hummus -- I like it! The ara-yes was like a thin Mediterranean hamburger, but served on pita bread instead of a hamburger bun. The menu stated that it is "grilled to a crisp," but it was just soft. For entrees, the sultan combo is a great way to sample all kinds of stuff: lamb, beef, chicken, falafel, hummus, eggplant, tabbouleh, stuffed grape leaves, salad, and basmati rice all on one plate. I also tried the fesenjan, which is a chicken stew cooked with walnuts and pomegranate sauce, and loved that as well. Their pita bread is served hot, which is awesome. My only complaint is that when I ordered the lamb kabobs, they were tiny and the bed of rice was huge. The meat portion of the sultan combo was small as well. I am a huge carnivore, so I want my meat, darnit!
I am hungry just after writing this review. *drool*
1 star off: need more meat and less rice
