Small, casual outlet specializing in Nepalese dumplings plus beer & cocktails.
"A momo is a Nepalese dumpling that’s either steamed or fried, and filled with meat, veg, cheese, or a mixture of all three, and served plain or with a curry, or chilli sauce. Now if that doesn’t make you want your house to be known as house of momo, momo, momo, and also those momos over there, then we don’t know what will. Not only is this Dalston spot tasty, but it’s excellent value too (10 momos are just over £10), and you can order from here" - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing
"A favourite with solo diners and groups of friends cramming in as many beers and dumplings as humanly possible, House of Momo is a Nepalese spot on a corner behind Gillett Square. Everything in this little Dalston restaurant—where tables are shared and counters are hunched over—has that warm, nice factor that neither blows away nor disappoints. The menu is mainly momos, either steamed, kothey (fried), jhol (in curry sauce), or with a sweet chilli sauce. Things can lean a little one note, so we’d recommend going for the cheese and vegetable-filled, fried momos with curry sauce. It’s best to mix up the flavours and textures. Alternatively throw some fried rice and noodles on a plate as well. It’s straightforwardly satisfying and you’ll be in and out within an hour." - Jake Missing
"You can get 10 steamed chicken momos for £9 from this cosy Nepalese spot in Dalston, and you could definitely stop there. Only, those fried cheese and vegetable ones sound quite good too, don’t they? Oh, and you can get curry sauce instead if you’re fancy. There’s a dal and thali bowl as well, and you should really split a load between you." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing
