I had the pleasure of meeting the owners of this establishment, and I must say, they are a pretty cool bunch. What impressed me the most was their extensive knowledge about various types of drinks and drink mixers. My date, in particular, was quite taken with their wine selections. Although my visit was brief and I couldn't delve deeply into the offerings, I found that the photos on display spoke volumes. I highly recommend paying a visit to Housebar at the Navy Yard and experiencing it for yourself. It's evident that they take their craft seriously, and I'm sure you'll enjoy the experience as much as I did.

Google
LOVE! I found this place on tiktok. I must say, it was a great recommendation. Me and a friend stopped by on friday. Chilled ambiance, friendly staff and impressive whiskey lineup. Being able to taste test one of their potential new products was a plus. It's obvious that they care about the customer's wants/feedback. This place even has doggy treats, which my dog enjoyed lol. I'll definitely be returning. I've already told all my friends about this place!

Google
Pricing is high, but the selection is unique. Very intimate service, small store, so it's like one on one service. It is convenient because I live close by, but again, the prices are a little high. I did spend $70 for two bottles. I admit that the rum & whiskey I purchased are tasty, I drink them both straight or on the rocks

Google
Fantastic store. While there are many excellent package stores in DC, Housebar steps it up with their well curated selection. The hardest thing about stopping in is deciding that there's nothing else you want to purchase. Excellent selection of whiskey, rye, tequila, rum, and more. The team at the store knows their products well. Lots of premium options on the shelves, and prices were on par or better than my other DC go-to stores.

Google
Stopped in by chance and really enjoyed the spot. Open later than the other stores in the neighborhood and more unique. Their own spirits were great and I left with a bottle of their vodka. The Guava mixer they have was also great and paired well. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
A black owned liquor store? Yes!!!! I don't even know if you can even call this a liquor store, because it also sale gourmet pre packaged meals, and bread, ice cream and slew of other things that you wouldn't expect to find in a liquor store. The alcohol that they sale is something that you won't be able to get at your local run of the mill liquor store. Think Trader Joe's, but for liquor. They carry liquor from black owned distilleries as well. You're also allowed to do some taste testing as well. This is a cool spot, and it really does feel like a House Bar. The employees are friendly and helpful, nice tunes while you shop, and an array of different types of liquor and food. I'd would visit more often, but visiting liquors is how bad habits are formed lol. But in all seriousness, check this place out next time you're at the Yards. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
This place is so freaking cool, and so unique. Almost a tailored liquor store experience. We started with a quick whiskey tasting which was cool, then had a chance to talk to who I think was the owner. He explained how they try to support small businesses, female owned, ect, which I love. They had a fantastic bourbon selection, and even some brands I had never even heard of. They had a few allocated bottles in the back too, and everything felt very fairly priced. They have some cold space with some delicious looking canned cocktails and local craft beers. Very unique experience and business that we enjoyed supporting while in town.

Yelp
They have really great bread lol. So I don't drink, but my friends do. We dropped in to pick up a few things for a get together. They carry a unique selection of alcohol that you won't find in regular grocery stores. The staff was helpful in picking out liquor that my friends would like. Me, on the other hand, was looking at snacks and bread. Not sure if they bake the bread there, but everything I've had has been fresh and delicious. I recommend their brioche buns, sourdough loaf, and baguettes.

Yelp
Location Convenient on first street south east by nearby hotels. Parking DC parking. Service Attentive and informative, friendly. Selection HUGE! Mixers, small can specialty cocktails, hard liquor, appetizers, fresh bread DAILY-sourdough/same buns as Swizzlers(!), ice cream, empanadas( frozen)- i could go on...., We bought a bottle of malbec, little white lie sparkling white, gin and tonic/old fashioned to gos, and spiked ice cream-see picture. Summary Great location, endless selection, why did I not stop in sooner??? A MUST stop especially if you are headed to the Nationals game or stay at nearby hotel. Amazing place!

Yelp
This place is more than just your average liquor store. Housebar is a one stop shop designed to help you create the perfect drink in your home. It's also Black-owned! I live in the neighborhood so I stopped in one day to feed into my curiosity. Kevin did a great job at explaining the concept to me and highlighting some of the great selections. They have a pretty nice selection of spirits, wine, beer and snacks! I prefer whiskey and they had a lot of my favs in there. They even have individual canned cocktails from California if you need something small but necessarily an entire bottle. I stopped in NYE to grab a bottle ring in the new year and also add to my collection. Kevin did a great job of offering up some recommendations. If you need help crafting a cocktail they will help you pick out all of the ingredients. I even saw some good items for mocktails. I love that they partner with local businesses so if you're looking for a local product, this is your spot. If you don't see something you're looking for just ask and they'll let you know if they have it or if it'll be coming soon. They have tasting events and you can even taste some of the spirits in store. The snack section is pretty solid. Boozy ice cream is definitely a plus. This is going to be a neighborhood staple whenever I'm in need of some liquor.

Yelp
Let me tell you everything that you've ever seen online and everything you haven't seen is here ! All the goods with perfect service it's all here ugh. I've been looking for 2-3 of the liquors I've found here for years and today I finally found them. Everything is regular priced nothing is up charged and it smells amazing. They have everything you need and then some ! Craving ice cream and liquor ? They have both. Want ramen ? They got it ! Braised beef ? They got it literally everything you want and need they have and Kevin was so amazing

Yelp
10/10 recommend! It was so welcoming and felt like you were at friends gathering that had stacked bar! They really offered everything you needed to create the perfect cocktail and mixers. It's snacks, books and they carried a lot of small business owned products as well! This is my first visit to a black owned liquor store!

Yelp
House Bar is an absolute gem in the Navy Yard! This boutique liquor store, though small in size, boasts a remarkable selection of unique wines and spirits from small, artisanal producers. Beyond its impressive liquor offerings, it features a variety of gourmet items, akin to those found at Foxtrot. Each visit unveils a new treasure, making it a delightful experience every time. This charming spot earns a solid 10 out of 10 in my book. I can't imagine purchasing liquor anywhere else in Navy Yard. Plus, it's also black-owned, adding even more reason to support this exceptional establishment.

Yelp
Walked by Housebar after leaving a restaurant down the street. I had no idea it was open and love the vibe inside. This is a store and not a place to grab a drink. A couple of folks asked about opening their beverages their and that had to be clarified. Kevin was managing the store and he did an amazing job welcoming everybody in, highlighting a few brands, and answering questions. I love that they highlight women and minority owned brands. They also provide chilled options if you need wine or beer immediately. I ended up buying a bottle of vodka from a local DC brand. Excited to try it. If you are looking for a bottle before heading to a party or restocking your bar, this is the place to do it!

Rikin S.

Yelp
This is a cool new spot in Navy Yard that specializes in providing everything you need to host drinks from home.

Amanda K.

Yelp
It was such a treat coming across Housebar. I needed a quick bottle for an event and Yelp brought me to this location. I was slightly overwhelmed by the amount of niche liquor options but thankfully the cashier helped me. I told him the type of vodka I usually drink and he led me to this South African brand that I thoroughly enjoyed. I highly suggest this place if you're adventurous and looking to try brands that may be a bit foreign.

Jeffrey W.

Yelp
Without question, the greatest liquor store in the entire DC area. The owner is fantastic and helpful and helped me find an absolutely wonderful bottle of tequila. Prices are reasonable based on the quality and the selection is unique. Go visit this place ASAP!

Michael W.

Yelp
Not impressed. Place is ok, prices are high and selection is weak. Save some money and head to Harry's a few blocks away

Marc M.

Yelp
Definitely a new go to spot in SW for high quality spirits, beer and wine at good prices. Ellington and Clyde are both great at answering questions and offering recommendations on items worth trying. Highly recommend it.

Gina F.

Yelp
Great customer service and very knowledgeable staff! They offer tastings and suggestions. I will definitely be back!

Jas M.

Yelp
All I'm going to say is - we will be back to spend more money and get the brands we can't find elsewhere in liquor/wine stores. We hope to have Kevin there because the vibes and customer service were beyond 5 stars and would recommend everyone I know to experience Housebar!!

Sydney V.

Yelp
I went to check this place out based on a recommendation. The staff was super knowledgeable. The offerings were unique. Pricing was competitive.
