"For a taste of the bayou, try a New Orleans’ traditional po’ boy sandwich (shrimp, fried oyster, voodoo chicken, catfish), with a bowl of gumbo ya ya or shrimp bisque. If you’re up for something heavier, go for jambalaya or the red beans and rice with andouille sandwich. Finish things off with bread pudding with bourbon sauce." - Monica Williams

I ordered the pasta with shrimp and an order of jambalaya. The service was cool. I enjoyed the jambalaya. Id recommend and would be returning. They also have an outside eating area.

Google
I had the oyster po boy and seafood bisque . So good , the bisque actually a decent amount of seafood in it . Usually when I go places it’s just puréed and I feel like I’m eating baby food. This was a nice change. The cornbread that came with the bisque was actually kind of dry though.

Google
It was a nice place, small but nice. The Blackened Catfish, smothered with Shrimp Etouffee with dirty rice was delicious. I ordered the Shrimp and Chorizo pasta to go and the only issue I had with that is that it needed a touch more seasoning. But, would definitely go again.

Google
Absolute excellence, I can’t say enough how good the food was. I have been in Michigan for 5 years and this is the best restaurant I’ve had the pleasure to visit since moving. I had the catfish étouffée which was extremely crispy and seasoned perfectly. We asked what was popular and they offered “the taste of New Orleans” with a bit of everything which is not listed on the menu - highly recommend. It has jambalaya, red beans and rice, and creole sausage with slaw and was amazing. We also got the butter beans on the side - they are dripping with bacon and bacon fat, how can you beat that? We sat at the bar and never had to worry about service but they also weren’t hovering. I’ll be here very often from now on as the prices aren’t bad either. Two people, an appetizer, two entrees and four drinks ~$100. Seriously, please visit this place if you want to have one of the best meals in a long time. Only thing to note is that it’s not a huge restaurant, seats around 50 people max so you may have to wait for a table but I promise it’s so worth it.

Google
Never disappoints! Great local lunch or dinner option. The best Spanish coffee you can get. Food is consistently great. Bartenders are wonderful.

Google
The food tasted like it was deep fried in old oil. Just about everything was deep fried as an option on the menu. I ordered a drink called a Hurricane. It came out overloaded with cheap alcohol. It treated horrible even after adding extra juice. No one could drink it. Thus a $12 drink was wasted. Dinner was not cheap $75 for 2, not including tip. The server was great. Atmosphere was okay. I don't think I will go back unless they tweak their menu and drinks.

We found them on a random Google search and man are we glad we went!! We are from Lansing and were visiting the zoo and had cravings for Southern grub!! We called and placed a pick up order for a full quart of collard greens (which they gladly provided the large last minute amount) and a voodoo chicken poboy. The drive was 6 minutes from the zoo. When we arrived we were met with an amazing artistic street view with other shops and cute bars and restaurants around them!! The entire block was a head turner!! New meets old vintage!! Once inside our food was already ready for pick up!! Napkins and silverware were not forgotten and our food was super hot and tasty! Great cuts of quality meat and high quality bread. And those greens....yumm!!! Cooked to perfection with the right amount of seasoning!! Perfect place to fill your cravings and your creativity!!

Yelp
Went in mid-day Sat, so the staff had time to talk, they are polite and helpful. Very limited street pay parking, nearby pay lots. Inside was a slightly dim long narrow loom with a long bar on one side, I had their variant on the long island ice tea and it was good. I had their fish and chip special and it was also good. I wanted to try their other seafood appies, but the meal was so filling there was no room.

Yelp
We usually go to Hamtramck for fat Tuesday, but I started a new job and didn't want to take the time off this year. So we decided to go out after work instead. The festivities don't last late into the night on fat Tuesday so we decided to take a different route and do fat Tuesday mardi gras style. Neither of us had been here before so it seemed like the perfect opportunity. This place was packed full of people! The line was out the door. It's very small. There isn't a lot of seating. We managed to get in rather quickly for how busy it was! They had great drinks and a special Mardi gras menu. The food was great! We really enjoyed the live music too. I would definitely recommend this spot!

Melissa C.

Yelp
The place is a bit small, but they definitely turn tables quickly. Service was fine, no complaints. Food was excellent. Generous portions. we split the fried shrimp to start which I did not get a picture of. The sauce that was served with it was delicious. I had the fried catfish, smothered with the shrimp étouffée which was served with dirty rice and cornbread. Everything was fantastic. Finished with the bread pudding, which was the best I had ever had. I'll be back

LaKisha B.

Yelp
I'm telling you....the fried catfish has me in a CHOKEHOLD!!! It is soooo good every time I order it. We ordered takeout for lunch and it did not disappoint. This time I also ordered the sweet potato fries with the greens and everything was spot on! If you haven't been yet, just go!

Alyssa S.

Yelp
A taste of New Orleans on a plate. I ordered the blackened catfish with shrimp etouffee over dirty rice. It was delicious!! It is definitely flavorful. We also order their oysters on the half shell which is not pictured.

James J.

Yelp
Best restaurant in Ferndale, hands down. Great bar, great staff, and great food. The traditional New Orleans food is amazing, but if you're feeling like something different their daily specials are even better.

Marissa C.

Yelp
I got the chicken creole and it was really good! I have never really had creole from before but I am definitely happy I tried it! The chicken was tender and not over cooked, the sauce had a nice kick to it! It overall had a great vibe, very chill and the service was great!

Jillian D.

Yelp
This is such a hidden gem. Absolutely delicious Louisiana-inspired food. The drinks were fun, tasty and strong. I will say that this is the perfect spot for a small group but if you have a larger group it might be better to try during non peak hours. Our waiter was attentive, quick and helpful. We will definitely be back to try some more of the menu.

Moe E.

Yelp
My new favorite spot in Ferndale. Fish is fantastic with a nice kick. The ambiance is chill and cozy the food is homey.

Alex T.

Yelp
Delicious. I aboslutely love the voodoo sauce that comes with some of the entrees. The hurricane drinks are also a great way to start off the night. Howe's isn't the most popular spot in Ferndale, but it deserves more credit. It's awesome!

Cosimo D.

Yelp
Service was very affable, but truly VERY slow. Our party of 8 didn't get any waters for at least 12 minutes, and were barely looked at until the waters arrived. There seemed to be only one server, but there weren't that many tables inside, so I don't know why everything took so long. As for the food...Fried Oysters were garbage. The coating was deep brown and tasteless. The Calamari was seasoned very well, and tasted amazing. The Steak Bites were cooked to a perfect medium rare, and was a fav of everyone at the table. The bowl of soup (Gumbo Ya Ya) was flavorful and filled with protein. The Sesame Chicken Strips weren't amazing, but they were better than expected. Lastly, the Shrimp Etouffee was flavorful and a decent serving size. I would likely have rated 4 stars if it wasn't for the fact that we waited for so long before being addressed, particularly when I called weeks beforehand, so they knew when and how many people were coming.

Nick P.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoy the food and the ambiance every time I come here. It gets a bit crowded on Fat Tuesday though, not sure why that would be the case. Do yourself a favor and try the butter beans.

Tonee S.

Yelp
Honestly, I come here with mixed reviews and left here disappointed. Pros: Location, Customer service and sides. This place is in a great location, though parking can be a bit of a struggle to look for on the weekend. Our server was kind, attentive, and worked quickly to get us in and out before our movie. The fries were delicious, and my friend loved her mashed potatoes. Unfortunately I wish we had more to praise. Improvements. I'll say for sure, if you get a po boy, make sure if it fried. There is no other option here. The bread is too soft to not fry whatever protein you choose. My sandwich had decent flavor but everything was just soft and kinda one note. The cornbread that came with my friends pork chop dinner... maybe we got the last two but they were dry. Like I need a glass of water after trying one bite kinda dry. I do not approve. The pork chop was a good size, but on the dryer side. The "glaze" was more of a chutney and thick. If you like your greens more acidic, this is the place for you. We found they needed to be a bit more balanced than just vinegar and black pepper. Not really looking forward to going back unless some serious changes are made. This place has potential but is lacking and no where near a Creole experience. We

Lillybet S.

Yelp
Ate at Howe's 8/12/23. Service was good. I had a fried oyster po'boy. It was very good. The slaw that was served kind of made the roll soggy in spots, but it was still good.

Abiba S.

Yelp
I had some friends in town visiting from down south and thought it would be fun to check out this Louisiana Creole inspired restaurant. For starters, Howe's is more of a bar than a true "dinner" restaurant which caught us by surprise. It was extremely loud, which is expected at a bar, and the dining area was tight. I tried the Shrimp Creole and the creamy vegetable pasta with seared shrimp added. The shrimp Creole was flavorful but not spicy (we were excited for some heat). Overall the dish tasted good but wasn't anything too special. The Creamy Creole Vegetable pasta, however, was a huge let down. I didn't really taste any nuanced creole flavor. The pasta sauce tasted like standard sauce you'd get at an Italian restaurant. The zucchini was quite hard and could've been cooked down a bit more. I was also expecting more shrimp for the price it cost to add it but it was at least flavorful. Overall good bar caliber food but not somewhere I'd go for a dinner night out.

Sri C.

Yelp
The appetizers were very good - spinach artichoke and a chicken appetizer. Chicken was soft and flavorful. The "Local Light Beer" ( yes that's the name of the beer, was a disappointment), felt like flavored water. Ordered the Jambalaya - was flavorful too but should not have asked for extra spice, the std spice would have been good, so that's on me. However the jambalaya was "solid", and not the soupy texture I was used to. Wife has the Shrimp creole and was very happy with it (for a picky eater). Small cozy place but had fun. Our waiter was great. If I'm in the area, would certainly consider it again

Brei N.

Yelp
Most of the food was salty and all tasted the same. A runner was helping to deliver food and gave my vegetables to the table in front of me. They sat there for a few minutes until it was realized by my actual server that they were at the wrong table. I took the veggies but did not eat them because I honestly didn't feel comfortable doing so. The greens tasted like they had soap on them (which is actually why I ended up with the veggies; I sent the greens back). The server was ok. It was during the Woodward Dream Cruise so I think maybe he was rushing a little to flip our table, maybe ? The soup was fantastic and the shrimp appetizer was amazing! I could've passed on everything else.

Bob B.

Yelp
We ordered a little bit of everything and boy were we impressed. Voodoo Shrimp Appetizer Voodoo Chicken Entree Cup of Gumbo Shrimp po boy Side of Mac and cheese Blackened catfish Best Cajun food in the area hands down. The gumbo was amazing! Only question is what to try next time.

Dawn H.

Yelp
Howe's is a small dive in Royal Oak. The menu is Louisana based meaning gumbos, jambalaya, red beans and rice, etc. I started with a cup of gumbo yaya which was delicious. It's served with a piece of fluffy cornbread , both were perfection. I also ordered the fried oysters. I've never had fried oysters and these were great. Not sure what the batter is made from but it is seasoned well and taste even better when dipped in the roumalade. My enteee was the fried catfish served with dirty rice. The fish wasn't seasoned however the hot sauce that is brought to the table made it perfect. The rice was dry and flavorless. The bar is heavy with bourbon and rum. I normally drink tequila but they only had 2 options, neither of which I wanted. The bar tender made me a Hurricane which was strong but tasty. I will definitely be back.

Jonathon J.

Yelp
Awesome food, service and bar. I had the cup of gumbo with cornbread. It was thick and very flavorful! The sweetness of the cornbread went very well with the gumbo. I also had the voodoo chicken over dirty rice. It was lovely! I actually ordered the voodoo shrimp so they brought a few of those too. The sauce, rice and both the chicken and shrimp were marinated and very flavorful. Great restaurant and service. I'm looking forward to visiting again.

Ayana F.

Yelp
Food was just okay. I was expecting more flavor from everything. The service was just okay too. We were the only table here and our waitress didn't check on us after we tasting the food. And the ambiance was just okay as well.

Javon P.

Yelp
Food was not bad but not great either, Cajun fried shrimp, good fresh tasting shrimp however the batter was not flavorful at all. Macaroni was good. Service and ambiance are both good, it's a pretty laid back environment

Sara W.

Yelp
The best Cajun food around!! The staff, atmosphere and food, and drinks are all fantastic!!

Yelp
There are so many popular restaurants in Ferndale that it's easy to overlook Howe's Bayou. I'll admit that our family goes here usually after we've walk past other restaurants with a long wait. And yet, every time, we find ourselves asking why we don't come here more often. The restaurant serves good-sized portions of seafood with very reasonable prices. Our server was attentive and patient with our son who wasn't quite sure of what he wanted. My son hasn't had many seafood dishes at restaurants and after asking some questions, decided on a shrimp bisque and an order of muscles in a buttery, garlicky, white wine sauce. I always get the shrimp po'boy and decided to go with the mac n' cheese side this time. My husband enjoyed a dinner of beans and rice with Andouille sausage. We ate everything! The owner also came outside to check on us. He also checked on a man in a wheelchair nearby. He talked to the man for a few minutes. A little while later, he came out with a box of food for the man. It was such a kind gesture that made me love this place more. As we finished up our meal, the sun went down and it started to get chilly. We were able to catch a few songs from the live band before we paid our check and left. Great food, great service, great prices. We will be back.

Scott T.

Yelp
Always the best food. Dirty rice is awesome. Had the catfish ettoufe. Delish. Wife got the gumbo. Good choice as well.

David M.

Yelp
What a revelation! We've been living here and driving past this little place for years now and finally took everyone's advice and tried it out. I ordered the catfish simply because you don't see that on a lot of menus here, and it was unbeatable. Light and flaky with a light crunch of cornmeal on the outer layer and a zesty remoulade on the side. It was so good. You can get one filet or two, and probably two people could split this dinner with the two filets. The dirty rice was nothing extra special, but my two year old daughter gobbled most of it up gladly. We also got the shrimp and grits, which was very yummy. I'd personally like a little bit more shrimp, but they were cooked perfectly, the sauce was great, and the grits were a good balance of soft and structured. Unpictured: the exemplary mac and cheese! Best I've had anywhere in the area. So so so cheesy, no velveeta-like texture and no cut corners that I could tell. Our only complaint would be the slaw, which just wasn't for any of us. It was very vinegary and had a lot of caraway seeds. I like caraway a lot but it was still a bit much. We'll certainly be back though, and hopefully try some other dishes but I can't imagine not ordering the catfish again.

Matt H.

Yelp
Excellent Cajun food, i had the catfish and it was very tasty. I prefer my gumbo a little thicker but the spices were great. Service was fast and very friendly

Lisa F.

Yelp
The service was wonderful! I ordered a cup of gumbo yaya and the jambalaya. My guest had the chips and a fried catfish poboy that looked amazing. I tasted the remoulade or sauce that went on it and it was delicious! The server, I didn't get her name, offered to add shrimp to my dish, but the chicken and andouille was plenty of protein in this flavorful masterpiece. Both the gumbo and my main dish were served with a piece of corn bread. I would have preferred warmed corn bread, but it was nicely done. Our waters were refilled regularly, a drink refill was brought to my friend as needed. Tables around us, as well as our own table were all cleared of dirty dishes, tableware, and glasses throughout our visit. It was a memorable meal and I will be back to try more!

Andrey T.

Yelp
Really solid food. Decent service. Nice drink selection. Years ago, we would frequent this place; not sure why we stopped coming, but decided to try it again. Have been back several times since. I can't tell if the seafood is fresh or frozen, so I guess that's a good thing. Everything we tried was solid. Shrimp and Grits being a favorite. Not the best I've ever had, but solid. Shrimp could be bigger and the sauce is the weak part of the dish; order sauce on the side. Basically everything we ordered was properly cooked and tasted good. Only exception is their gumbo. Its just not good. All 4 of us tried it, and all agreed it was not good. Server did not look surprised that it was uneaten. Service is very professional, yet casual. Bar is fully stock and moderately priced. Worth a visit (just don't order gumbo).

Raquel T.

Yelp
Food is always excellent. There is never a huge wait. I highly recommend the bisque and getting the cornbread to dip!

Leena K.

Yelp
came here around 7 pm and I was able to get seated right away! Had the voodoo shrimp appetizer and it was small but good! I got the shrimp poboy and it was FRESH!!!! the fried shrimp was great texture. would have to come again to try more food!

Yolanda L.

Yelp
Food is good. Very intimate and small. Service pleasant i haven't had any problems with this restaurant nice cozy spot low key.

Kayla A.

Yelp
Every time I come in, it's always a very welcoming atmosphere. The gumbo is so yummy and their sweet potato fries with some sort of mayo-honey(?) sauce to pair is really good, too. The only unpleasant experience I had was one time I came in and immediately was met with a strong musty smell that was pungent throughout the entire restaurant. One time thing I'd hope so no biggie!

Carey C.

Yelp
The Lobster special displayed on the front window is what got me in the joint. Was having a bad week at work, and want to indulge at lunch. My coworkers and I got a table, and I requested the Lobster special. The server informed me it was only a dinner special, but she would ask the kitchen if they would consider making me one. Well, they did! I started off with the crawfish bisque, which was creamy, hot and satisfying. I added more salt, and some pepper, and it was gone in minutes. We also got the sampler appetizer with the smoked salmon and whitefish pate. Both were very good - but I enjoyed the capers the most. Wanted more flavor out of the whitefish pate though. My lobster was fabulous! Ended the meal with the bourbon bread pudding. It was warm and delicious, but no bourbon flavor. My coworkers got the Crawfish Etouffee and the perch po boy. Both were happy w/ their meals as well. Their signature drinks intrigued us all, and we're going back for happy hour in a few weeks.

Jessica N.

Yelp
Came to Howie's Bayou for a friend's birthday/Mardi Gras celebration. We were doing a Carnival/Mardi Gras night and wanted to start our night with a taste of New Orleans before heading to a jazz bar. It was a Friday night and they were super busy and packed. It's a smaller space, long and rectangular in shape with four seater tables on one side and seating at the bar on the other. We didn't have a reservation and I'm not sure if they take them but the hostess was very nice and helpful with getting seats together for us at the bar. We ended up splitting our group up and sitting four at one end of the bar and four at the other end. For drinks, they have specialty cocktails/martinis listed on a chalkboard in the middle of the bar. They had Girl Scout cookie themed martinis like a Samoa martini with Godiva, coconut rum and amaretto and a Thin Mint martini with Godiva, peppermint schnapps and cream. I had the Banana Foster martini which was very yummy and tasted like banana cream pie with a cookie crumb rimmed glass. They had lots of bourbons and whiskey and my friend got an old fashioned which she really liked. They also had a peanut butter bourbon old fashioned on special. I also had a hurricane because I had to have a true New Orleans Mardi Gras fave and it was very good but stroooong! Lol the hurricane was pretty boozy. For dinner I've been craving jambalaya so I had to get my jambalaya fix! The jambalaya was made with chicken and andouille sausage and served with cornbread and it was very good. One of my friends got the crawfish etouffee which was crawfish meat in a seafood stew with rice and it looked really good. Another friend got the crawfish boil on special which was served in a bucket and they give you a bowl to chuck the shells of the crawfish. The server/bartender showed my friend how to de-shell the crawfish and eat them. Another friend got the shrimp and chorizo sausage pasta in a cream sauce and he really liked it. The crawfish cakes and voodoo shrimp were also hits amongst our group. Definitely make sure to save room for dessert because their desserts are pretty amazing. One of my friends got the peach cobbler and I tried some of it and it was super delicious! The next time I stop in, I definitely have to get the warm gooey peach cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, yum! So good! Another friend got the chocolate brownie sundae and the birthday boy got the bread pudding with bourbon sauce and a scoop of ice cream. They said they only give a free dessert on the actual day of your birthday with photo ID and my friend's birthday is on this upcoming Tuesday but when I asked if they could put a candle on his dessert so we could sing Happy Birthday since we were out celebrating, they ended up giving his dessert for free anyways which was nice. Atmosphere was fun and festive! Service was very good! The server/bartender explained all the menu specials to us, orders and food were taken and brought out quickly and water glasses were always full. We had a great time here and really enjoyed our food and drinks! Can't wait to return for dinner again sometime!

Holly G.

Yelp
I love Howe's Bayou. I always get the mustard-fried catfish with the wonderful remoulade sauce, dirty rice, and greens. The jambalaya, shrimp po Boy, and gumbo are also excellent. They can get your food fast if you're in a hurry, and it's kid-friendly.

Elisa R.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday night during the Ferndale Oktofest, and wasn't amazingly surprised by the food, but I will say that this place has a very nice atmosphere for drinks! They have a very nice bar, great cocktail menu, and I can see myself coming back with friends for drinks. I didn't see if they had a happy hour. I ordered the Calamari: and was a fan! Sadly, I didn't think the shrimp pasta was anything out of this world. If anything, it wasn't saucy, and lacked flavor... Maybe I should of ordered something else on the menu, and would be open to suggestions! :) If you like cajun food, I would recommend this place, but perhaps ask the server for their recommendation. The staff was very friendly, and made us feel welcomed! :)

Pam V.

Yelp
I love this place and the people who took care of us. We had a party of ten and everything was very good. What stood out to me the most was how out of the way the employees went for us. I ordered something to go also and paid for it and forgot about it and left in a hurry because I had the tickets for an event we were attending on the next block. I didn't get his name but a nice man actually came to the event to find the person who forgot their takeout order. The server remembered me saying we were going there next. He went back and got my takeout and brought it back to me. You just don't find as many people that nice who cares as much these days.

Jessica Y.

Yelp
The bartender is really nice and fits the vibe perfectly . Just getting back from New Orleans, I was not ready to say goodbye to the best food I ever tried ! So I stopped into Howe's and was very satisfied. The gumbo was rich and flavorful. I'm not a fish fan but the catfish étouffée was soooo good, not fishy at all and the layers were amazing. The pickle martini was honestly , something I didn't know was a need but now is.

Sara S.

Yelp
I really recommend this place! Voodoo shrimp is excellent! Really wish the would put the crawfish etouffee back on the menu

Jim S.

Yelp
The food is always delicious and the wait staff is fantastic. I highly recommend this place. The mustard fried catfish is freaking delicious as is their gumbo and corn bread.

Victoria M.

Yelp
This inside of this restaurant stinks. So we were forced to sit outside. We wanted to give this place a try due to the high ratings. I for one, never have had gumbo. So we sit down and the first thing that comes out of the waitresses mouth is, I'll try to be attentive, but there's only two of us, can I get your full order now?" Uhm? Yeah that really puts "faith " in the whole place. We get our food, it wasn't the worst but it wasn't anything worth coming back for. Cornbread tasted like a rubbery shoe. Jiffy cornbread mix in a 15 cent box is better. If I had any advice to give this place it would be, get rid of the 100 year old interior and smell of this place. Update your restaurant and hire more servers.

Gia D.

Yelp
Sit by the service station at the bar and you'll get to hear the waitstaff and kitchen staff talk trash about yourself and other customers Complete turnoff. Bartender was friendly and attentive.

Tiffany M.

Yelp
Where do I begin...! This is one of my top 20 must try places in metro Detroit. I have been going here at least for over 10 years and the food... let me tell you about the food... Atchafalaya Chicken..., Vodoo Shrimp, Crole food at an affordable price. Excellent staff also Jambalaya... yes! New Orleans Detroit style... and the smells and taste in here will have you thinking your in a restaurant right off Bourbon Street. Your going to wanna start with one of their famous cocktails. The Bartenders always consistent and serves nice cold stiff ones. Then your going to indulge your taste buds on some of the amazing appetizers. Then grab the corn bread and enjoy some red beans and rice, a po boy, or some fried catfish!!! Nothing on the menu is bad so you can't go wrong. Kyle is my favorite waiter. Always smiling

Jess B.

Yelp
I'm giving them a 5! Didn't have the food, but still giving them a 5 based on the staff, cleanliness, service, decor, and clean restrooms. We stopped here for the 2nd Annual Ferndale Fall Crawl. The place is small so we worried about our presence. Not a problem! The owners were super nice and accommodating. The servers were so great and patient with us. They were pleasant and worked well with a bunch of intoxicated people dressed like Lumberjacks! Drinks there are good and not pricey. There was a spiked hot chocolate drink that was so good!! Oh, I did have food, but not a meal. Had some of a friends appetizer that I believe was spinach artichoke dip. It was really good! This place was really homey. I actually can't wait to go back because it is so inviting. And because I really want to taste the food! I will update then!

Monique H.

Yelp
Everything from the fried oyster, to the lobster w/shrimp bisque was delicious. I will be back soon. Our server was friendly, attentive and informative when asked questions about the menu. No complaints from this greedy girl...

Ayzia K.

Yelp
Looks nice on the inside and the atmosphere was good. I had mac & cheese as well as jambalaya. the mac and cheese was bland. Not to my liking. The Jambalaya on the other hand was good and spicy just how I like it. I should've tried the drinks too. I'll try them next time. Pretty fast service. Went for takeout, was in and out in under 10 minutes. Go try it if you like creole food.

Yelp
Yaaaaas!! Yaaaaaaaassss!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSS!!! We were in Burndale for the night cause cousins wanted to get together for my sissy-in-law's last night before she Flys back to Hotlanta. First we went to "Blah-lentines" ambiance was great, but it was packed with tiara wearing, I just turned 21 crowd that makes me nautious. Yea, no thanks! NEXT!!! "M-screw" from what I thought would be the savior,, didn't deliver at all. This one was packed with jocks high-fiving over golf video games and singing along to loud rock music. Hollering and screaming at my friends isn't my idea of a good conversation. NEXT!!! Enter Howe's Bayou,, unassuming,, un-snooty,, and just plain awesome, shoot the breeze over a few drinks good time. Where we sat at the bar, greeted hella warmly and given a great service short of a foot massage. My craft beer was served cold in a proper pint glass. Our mussels Creole Style arrived hot and fresh. Which was extremely mouth punching good by the way. There's something in that sauce that just makes it go the extra hundred miles of yumminess. Use the bread to mop up all that goodness. Trust me on this. I know what I'm doing. I LOVE YOU HOWE'S BAYOU! I've finally found my favorite bar in all of Burndale. Weeeeeeee!!

Yelp
I can't say I love the food from New Orleans. I eat some seafood, but I can't get myself to love andouille sausage in the gumbo. I do like crawfish, but only in a sushi roll. I should try the bisque, as I tend to favor all things bisque. I think it's still a cool spot in Ferndale.
