We had about an hour before boarding a 13-hour flight. Drinks were what was called for, so we're lucky that Hub 51 was right by our gate.
We grabbed one of the only empty booths and set in to relax a bit before boarding.
Hub 51 offers several beers -- mostly national brands, but you'll likely find something that will work -- along with wine and cocktails. The beer especially was what you would expect for being in an airport, meaning prices that were slightly more expensive than normal.
And then for food, we were going to get the guac, but it carried a hefty price tag of roughly $14. "Guac should never cost that much," we thought.
So we got the hummus plate instead. This included a delicious dollop of hummus, some spices to dip in, giant olives and pita and veggies.
It was OK. It hit the spot of giving us something to munch on while we waited.
When we were about to leave, a neighboring booth ordered the guac, and I must say -- that looked like one helluva guacamole. It was piled high with chips, and the avocado was generous. In fact, my friend did say, "Wow, we should have ordered that."
Consider that noted for my next visit to the international gate.
The service was fast -- also important for an airport.
All in all, we got what we desired, arriving at our gate happy.
