I've been here 3 times now! They are located inside the Hilton and validate parking for up to 3 hours. The first time (back in August) was okay, but the next couple of times, the service and food was way better!
On my first visit, I got the Hudson punch and hubby got the margarita sandia. The drinks were pretty and refreshing! For apps, we shared the mussels Marzano, big eye tuna poke, and the spinach artichoke dip. Everything was pretty good, but the poke wasn't very fresh to me.
For our main entrees, I got the Kurobuta pork bao buns and hubby opted for the flat-iron and bone marrow. The presentation for the bao buns was a deconstructed one, so you build it yourself. It was a fusion of banh mi, so there were pickled daikon and carrots, mayo, and jalapenos, etc. It was fun to build and very enjoyable. Hubby liked his steak, so no complaints there. For dessert, we went with the Mexican panna cotta! It was delightful.
The second time (in December) we went was for brunch! We started with the Berry Breeze and Morning Dove, which are both free spirits. Both drinks were so yummy. We shared the Convoy wings, pozole, old school Reuben, and a carnitas torta. Everything came out pretty fast! The pozole was enough for just one person, so we ordered another one for me. Everything we got was delicious!
For our main entrees, I got the roasted branzino and he opted for the Banker's Hill flat-iron. Entrees took about 40 minutes, so good thing we weren't in a rush. Hubby asked for medium-rare steak, but it was well done. They refired his dish, so it was cooked perfectly afterwards. My branzino was light and citrusy.
I saved room for dessert and got the Nutella divine. This dessert was rich and chocolatey. Hubby got a cup of espresso as well. This was such a great brunch!
My third time here was recently after work. My friend got a cocktail and I opted for the Morning Dove this time. It was so refreshing! It's probably my favorite drink here, but all of their mocktails are good.
We started with the organic blue masa bread and it came out in a skillet with lavender honey butter and sea salt. This combination was really good. We decided to try their Hokkaido dayboat scallops, which is available for a limited time. This dish was cooked perfectly!
The Point Loma octopus was okay to me. We needed some carbs and ordered the bucatini bolognese. This dish is usually the same everywhere, but I was surprised that I really liked this one! They added crushed San Marzano tomatoes on top, so it had a nice crunchy texture. The beef cheeks were so flavorful and tender. Service was great as well- we were checked up on often. I'm looking forward to my next visit!
