The 13 Best Cancún Restaurants - Eater

"Huelic is on a mission to raise the bar on tortillas in Cancún, making theirs with heirloom corn, not with corn flour as is common at other spots. The word “huelic” is borrowed from the ancient language of Nahuatl and means “tasty” or “flavorful” — an apt way to characterize anything corn-based here, including tlacoyos, sopes, and tamales (filled with mole, peppers and cheese, or even sweet pineapple). Watch the tortilla machine and expert staff in action as you enjoy your meal and the true experience of a neighborhood tortilleria. [$]" - Wendy Pérez

The perfect place if you are looking for a homemade, traditional and healthy tortillas. It's both a nice restaurant and a tortillas shop. They use locally-grown old varieties of corn, cooked traditionnaly to keep all the nutrients and flavors. Different corn-based delicious specialties are served. Everything is homemade, and the setting of the restaurant is nice. The owner will be glad to share his knowledge, and takes time to explain the menu. A great spot for those who want to enjoy traditional and healthy Mexican food!

One of the best meals I’ve had in two years being in Mexico. The chilaquilles and sopes were amazing. Other reviews were accurate—the tortilla is a totally new experience. The chorizo was my favorite I’ve had in any country. Nicest people running it too. Damn! Go here if you’re in Cancun

Happened by this place with my mom yesterday and already excited to go back!! We tried the trilogy of sopes with chicken and the chorizo quesadillas, as well as both the coffee options. Everything was FANTASTIC, and the employee who helped us was so patient with our questions, even about the retail items, and we plan to come by every day for another "cafe olla!" The chocolate bars they sell are delicious, too!

Absolutely gorgeous place 😍 we had food in different places in Mexico and this one stands out. The best authentique Mexican food with affordable prices. Staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommended 👌

Marvelous assortment of tortillas and other savory tortilla-based dishes. And the coffee was amazing (but no milk available).

Try the "colleccion de quesadillas". It's insainly amazing. Our first breakfast in Mexico couldn't be any better.

Easily the best food I've had in my week long trip to Cancun. Everything was fresh, ingredients were amazing and the spices were done perfectly. You have to try the green sauce if you go it's like nothing I've ever had before. As an added bonus for vegans or vegetarians like me, they had great vegan options for each of the mains. I cannot recommend this place more!
