A grassroots urban farm selling chemical‑free produce on site twice weekly, with CSA options and volunteer programs. Lauded by community health advocates, it’s a powerful example of agriculture as local empowerment near Rancho’s southern edge.

After our clean up at the Hickory Creek Park in Chino Hills, we went to Huerta del Valle Garden to continue honoring the Earth. The garden is rich with green areas. Here you can rent an area and grow up your fruits, seeds and flowers. We saw some chickens here too. Today they are having an event to celebrate our Mother Earth. There are vendors selling vegetables, food and artisan productos. Supporting them, you are supporting the garden. The entrance is free.

You are hosted by super friendly people. You learn about how organic food is grown and you can get some for home. For example if you eat the strawberries , you would never ever get them in chain stores. The ones in chain stores are sour but these ones have the real taste. You can go to some events held in this place during the year.

Wonderful organic farm in the middle of an Ontario neighborhood. The workers/farmers are very knowledgeable and converse with. A variety of fruits and vegetables depending on the season.

Yelp
I was searching for a farmer's market and this community garden/farm came up. I did a little research and decided to give our food budget dollars to this community garden. I bought a sample box for $45 presale online. Our pick up date was Saturday morning. Pick up was painless and quick. The community garden was very nice to stroll through and look at. We were lucky enough to meet Maria, she runs the place. My box has Leeks, Strawberries , Dino Kale, Cilantro, Carrots , Cauliflower, Cabbage, Beets, Zucchini, & Red Butter Lettuce, and as an extra bonus...a couple of cucumbers from their first harvest of the season ! So far so good. All the veggies are ripe and ready to eat or use in a recipe. They have a subscription service that knocks a few dollars of the box price. But with little league football season starting, we don't do a lot of home cooking. Ill buy a box when I need it. Please give this place a try and check them out online first to order a box! Thank you Maria!

Yelp
Really awesome place to visit and buy fruits and veggies from. Everything here is organic and for $30.00 (once a year) you can have your own space and grow whatever you want here. Items like potting soil, mulch, and water are free of charge once you pay your dues (30.00). Great place to plant and enjoy the outdoors. I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
This place is a gem! The fruits and veggies are grown right here and the prices are good. But most importantly, the people are so Amazing! Maria has built a culture of love and resolve and what she and her team are doing for the community is inspiring! Javier helped with the produce box pick up and he also is very kind. I love getting healthy fruits and vegetables from here while supporting the local farmers and community. Great place to bring kids and also to bring groups to volunteer!

Yelp
Great place! I went with a friend and met Maria the person who started this non-profit organization. Such an amazing person! She told us her story of how she started back in 2010 with just two raised garden beds, and has now multiple locations across Southern California, with the goal of creating local communities of self-sustaining citizens who grow their own food. She does this by reaching and teaching people, particularly low-income families, how to garden and grow their own organic food. This is definitely something I can throw my support behind and participate in! The community garden is sectioned off into four quadrants, of which many plots of 10 x 20 beds are available. When I checked them out, most looked occupied to me, and a decent number of them were not tended to and full of weeds. So here are the rules: - Membership costs $30/year via personal or cashier's check made payable to "Huerta del Valle" - You must sign a short contract agreeing a number of very reasonable and simple things - You must be a resident of Ontario for this particular location; there are six total locations across Southern California. Check out huertadelvalle.org for more information. Show your proof of residency (your photo ID works) - Each family is allowed one 10 x 20 bed; you can't have more than one bed, unless you pay an additional $30/year at other locations (i.e. Jurupa Valley location, etc) - If you don't maintain your assigned garden bed for longer than three weeks, then you forfeit your membership with no notice or warning and the bed is then assigned to another family - There's an internal farmer's market where Maria and her employed gardeners sell the fruits and vegetables that they harvest from their "intense gardening" sectioned area of the garden. The price is $3/pound for most of the produce. Mondays and Wednesdays are half price since they're slower days. - You agree not to sell the product that you grow, as it's meant for your family. However you can trade produce with other families! - You are to volunteer at the community garden a total of 4 hours per month either assisting Andres the head gardener with gardening (weeding, harvesting early in the morning, etc.) or assisting Autumn the volunteer coordinator with running the market (setting out produce for market opening, moving things around, washing used produce bins, cleaning up after market is closed, etc.) I'm looking forward to spending a decent amount of time here with my family and seeing what kinds of gardening know-how I can glean from my time here. Thanks Maria for your beautiful brainchild!
