A hidden gem in Boyle Heights. Don’t let the humble appearance of the place fool you, because I actually l found the front yard house set-up quite charming. You’re not going to get your mind blown by the sights or senses, but if you need to satisfy that basic craving for a good pizza with no frills, this is your place. You can get the “home-made” experience for take out so If you’re in the area I recommend stopping by for this one of a kind experience. Street parking only, but I never had any problems finding parking.

One of my favorite pizza in L.a! ⭐Found it during COVID when a lot of places were shut down or closed he was open late and making delicious pizza and wings with amazing quality ingredients! And very reasonable prices! It's a family favorite..I would recommend ordering ahead if you're in a hurry because parking is limited to minimal but def worth it!..the wings are a must!! Love this spot!❤️

Always go to Hugo's ever since I moved 2 blocks away! Haven't ordered Domino's or Pizza Hut ever since I've tried their Pizza and Wings❤️❤️ Super Fresh Ingredients and Amazing People. Definitely Recommend!!

First time coming to Hugo's pizza I bought a pepperoni and pineapple pizza, wings and 2 litter soda. Super Reasonable prizes and good pizza fresh ingredients you can actually taste the wood fire makes all the difference. Definitely coming back

Wow, wow, wow! This has got to be literally the best pizza and hot wings in all of Boyle Heights. Also you can't beat the price. I Definitely will making this location my pizza place. Also, the owners are super awesome.

Fresh ingredients. Dough was great and chewy. Sauce simple and nice. We got the meat lovers. Will be coming here frequently

Ok this review is so worth writing. I'm a patient at a hospital near Hugo's wood fired pizza and decided to purchase some pizzas for the nurses and chose Hugo's. What an amazing choice. He and his business went wayyy behind the call of duty to open his business on off hours just to make the pizzas for the hospital care team. Not only are the nurses and doctors so happy but omg the pizza was amazing and deserves higher than 5 stars. And the service impeccable. I thank Hugo from the bottom of my heart for making these nurses so happy. I and them will be back. Please If you read this review, support the local business. Hugo's is legit! Thank you again. Ohhhh and the mango jabenero wings were off the hook. Should have bought more.

Sadly we do not recommend this place. We were highly recommended to this home "local" business, but not satisfied at all. I'm Italian so, it's going to be tough to beat our at home pizza, but we give everyone a chance. So let's start off with the crust. It tasted like thin paper that was totally burnt. The margherita pizza had bell pepper on it. I'm sorry that is not a margherita pizza at all! And zero basil. Price was not bad, but for an at home business it seemed over priced. When we went, he was not at all together and we had to wait for someone to come help us finally. The service was ok, no where to sit and eat and it's Soto street which is a Main Street and I wouldn't sit on that street anyhow. Too many fast cars flying by. All in all, we have it a shot, but won't be back. There are several local pizza spots not too far away that are way better. Sorry to give a not so good review, but it was not good at all.

I had a large mushroom pepperoni pizza. The pizza itself is good, the dough was definitely the star. It was light and the crust had air bubbles and a bit charred which I loved. But the ingredients is where it kinda fell flat for me and I guess I was expecting more of the wood flavor in the pizza itself. But for $14 for a 14" pizza it's a good value. Service was fast as my pizza was made within 10 minutes. The pizzeria is actually at a residence so it's a little difficult to see. Hugo was friendly and generous.

As a Boyle Heights native, I was happy to support a local pizza spot. Called 30 min before they closed and they happily took our order in and delivered it to us. Pizza was tasty and ingredients were fresh. Excited to order more in the future. Delivery was speedy!

Quick delivery and solid ingredients at a reasonable price. Definitely will try this place again.

Hugo's is an awesome addition to the Boyle hts. culture of street food. Delicious thin crust pizza made to order by Hugo himself, from his front yard. The crust is great, sauce perfect, tasty cheese n fresh toppings, what more do u need? Also offers chicken wings! Want a great pizza? Stop by Hugo's.

I love supporting small businesses and this was one of them. Best pizza spot in LA, more specifically in Boyle Heights. My boyfriend and I always drive pass this place when we come by visiting his parents. And we always say, we got to try this spot out. On a Friday night, we were craving pizza. The ordering process was easy as they take phone order and the cost for a personalized small pizza, medium pizza and 6 piece Buffalo wings was $35. Pizza takes about an estimate 15 minutes to make. I love my pizza crust doughy and it was good. Supreme pizza was delicious and made with fresh ingredients. This place is definitely a place you order to go as it's not an actual store front, just FYI. Hugo and staff were super nice and friendly. Definitely will be back for more.

Best pizza in Boyle Heights!!! They accept Venmo, just ask! I love that it's a mom and pop shop in front of their home.

Excellent tasty wood fired pizza! Hidden gem! Came here prior to a call (EMT from Los Angeles area). Good ambience, no seating but very quick friendly service.

You would think that this pizza place would stand out, but you would be wrong:) it is at the owner's home right in front and it is the best wood fired pizza my family and I have had. We have ordered twice from Hugo's and it never misses. The flavor of the pizza is great, options are limited but do not make you feel underwhelmed. I've seen people mention that the "pizza is burnt" but it's just from the wood fire which gives the pizza a completely different taste than pizza from a large pizza franchise.

The pizza is very good I called to place and order once I got there he tried charging me 2 orders of wings while I only told him one order and he was telling I told him 2 this never happens but this time idk what happen

My partner and I love the pizza here! They don't have too many options to order, but it is customizable with different toppings. The bread is chewy and doughy; it's cooked well and it's delicious! Will definitely be back to order more for sure. Parking is a challenge as Hugo's is located in a residential area. You won't find street parking easily here, I highly recommend you order ahead of time to pick up.

The food that Hugo prepares is amazing. Can't beat that flavor. The napoleon style pizza is unique. The wings are always made to order. This guy is always busy which is a bummer but his service is great! With wood fired pizza your pizza is always going to be different, not like your typical over baked pizza, but I think that's what makes the flavor so unique. Can't find this flavor anywhere else. I've ordered pizza here a few times and it has been delicious every time. It's obvious Hugo takes pride in his craft and he's a true professional. I'd recommend you give them a try next time you're craving a wood fire pizza

Hugo's is bringing a slice of Italian to East L.A on the residential corner of Soto Street and City View Avenue. Pizzas start at just $5 for an 8" pie and top off at $10 for a 14" pie. Hugo's is open daily from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. I was surprised about just how good the pizza was here at Hugo's along with the flavors of the ingredients used. Really great pizza at a great value!

Drove by this place a bunch and eventually had to stop at this novelty outdoor pizza oven. Good ingredients. Hugo's pizza has a sweet dough but is thicker than your average slice. Because of the thickness, the crust isn't cooked as much as one might like. Not bad! but not worth the drive if you don't live in the area.

This place is a true hidden gem. Cute little spot. Parking was a bit tough but I would definitely recommend finding parking and walking the block to try it out. The service is great. I'm assuming Hugo is the cook, he was super nice and helpful. My son & I have previously tried Wood Fired pizza once and it was the best thing ever. So when I found this spot today via yelp search and saw it was close to home we had to check it out. They had a Mother's Day Special which was not advertised but so sweet he let us know. We're basic when it comes to pizza. I love pepperoni, my son loves cheese so ordered 2 large pizzas and the mango habanero wings. EVERYTHING WAS BOMB. So flavorful and delicious. I never eat my crust but the crust was so soft and perfectly cooked. My son did mention he wished his cheese pizza had more sauce but he still devoured half of the large lol The pepperoni one definitely had enough. The wings were my favorite. I love mango habanero and these were definitely the best tasting mango habanero wings I've ever had!!! Id buy the sauce if they ever decide to bottle and sell it. Will definitely be coming back. This place is bomb. Last night a friend of mine took us out here to eat, and it was incredible. We ordered pizza for table of 3 and it was delicious. Real wood fire inside and it smell so good before you even walk inside the place. Pizza was great. We had some chicken wings too as side orders. Nice people that work here. Family place in a tiny area spot. Parking was kind of a big challenge. All in all, I am willing to visit again.

That dough, though! A blend of crunchiness with a subtle char from the wood fire, and then a warm, soft chew with every bite. I'm savoring my last nibble of the cornicione on this pepperoni and cheese pie. I had to stop mid-chew to try and express this to y'all! So good.

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS PIZZA! The cheese is perfectly melted, the toppings are always fresh, and the customer service is unmatched. Hugo's skills in pizza making compare to something you'd order at an Italian delicacy. The authentic stone oven cooks the pizza PERFECTLY. This local Boyle Heights pizza place is a MUST VISIT.

Drove right by at first. GPS said I was there. Saw the open fire oven and cute lights so there it was. Carry out only no dine in as it's out of a little house. Yummy and very inexpensive. The toppings are a little sparse and I like them all the way to the edge and would get extra sauce next time. Really nice people.

I was nearby and stopped by to order a pizza, i did call ahead and they were quick to prepare our order. I enjoyed the pizza as it was fresh from their wood fire oven. I recommend this spot to anyone who wants to support a local business and enjoy some good food.

If you are in a pinch and don't have the time to stop and eat somewhere or heading to a dodger game this place will do. They make everything from their backyard in these super heated stone ovens but it didn't leave me totally impressed. A for effort but I don't see myself eating here again. The flavor just wasn't right and the pizza toppings weren't cooked as throughly as I would have liked since the pizza dough I imagine would burn even more then it was. Sooooo yeah, now that I am writing this I am convinced I won't be back ‍

I got a burnt pizza from this spot . The dough tasted undercooked on one side of the pizza and the other half had black crust . My friends still haven't let this one go

Very delicious pizza! First time trying it and I'm hooked! Minimal char which is normal for wood fire ovens! Gave the pizza a very distinct flavor! Can't wait to swing by again!

Hugo is the man. Wood fire Neapolitan style pizzas were fresh and delicious. Wings were crispy and juicy. This man takes pride in his product.

There's a show on the curb every night, watching the chef turn the pizzas on their real woodfire oven. Nicest staff, pizza is GREAT (you can really taste the wildfires difference). Wings are solid!! Support your local Boyle Heights pizzeria!

Honestly the best pizza I've had as of recent at a super affordable price. Recently tried their buffalo wings and they were also fantastic. Super quick service and easy takeout

I was caught off guard when I drove to the address to find it was someone's front year. However, the pizza was fire! I ordered a simple pepperoni and sausage 14" and it was delicious. I'm glad I bought and would definitely go back. I'll be visiting them again not just because the wood burning over pizza was delicious l, but I know I'm supporting a small neighborhood business. Keep up the great work!

I was pleasantly surprised how good the pizza is I figured since it's not a restaurant and it's in the hood (I'm from here) it would probably not be that good & thought ehh I'll try it it's cheap in price but wow it was delicious!!! Highly recommend it

The pizza always takes longer than what's quoted. They say it'll be ready in 15 mins. I show up in 25mins, they say my pizzas are ready but they have to be placed in the oven. That the cook is out making deliveries and when he returns he'll place them in the oven. Seeing as everything is prepped outside and see my pizza's on the prep table with flies on them as I wait for the cook to get back and pop them in the oven. Order cancelled . It's also 88 degrees. Who knows how long my pizzas have been sitting out?...

This will be the first and last time I'll be going to Hugo's wood fired pizza. I received a burnt pizza. Just check your order before you leave.

Today I got a large pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms. It was delicious. It's crispy and not greasy at all, which both me n my girl really appreciate. The buffalo wings were good to. They sold out when we were there luckily we preordered.

Hugo's is my favorite pizza place in LA! I love thin crust pizza and realized that it's not that common at pizza places here. Hugo's is fresh, fast, and friendly! The best advice I can give you is to order over the phone on your way there & tip heavy! Pizzas usually take about 15 mins to make and they are worth every minute. Hugo's has become a family favorite. They also do orders for parties! We love Hugo's!

This food stand is such a creative idea and so delicious! My favorite part of the pizza was their light and crispy dough and crust. I called ahead and my pizza was ready and kept warm until I arrived. For the quality and freshness the prices are very affordable, each additional topping after 2 is $1 extra. I am glad I tried it and will be a returning customer.

I moved just recently and I am now walking distance to this pizza place (thank god). I finally tried it yesterday and omg! It's delicious! I ordered a half-veggie and half-pepperoni pizza! It was great! The flavor was there! The service was pretty fast as well! Super friendly people! I am definitely coming back!

Saw Hugo's pizza and called in my order, 1 large meat lovers and Buffalo wings. they were very friendly and fast. Picked up my order and WOW, I haven't had good pizza like that in a long time. Definitely going to be my regular pizza spot.

The freshest pizza you can around this area! The prices are reasonable, the delivery is also reasonable, and most importantly the flavor/quality of these pizzas are SO GOOD! Ever since I tried this place Ive became a regular customer!!
