"Don’t worry, the oysters aren’t burnt - despite the establishment’s name! Updated recipes, quality ingredients, locally sourced whenever possible (organic veggies, fish from small boats), concise, seasonal menu. This friendly bolthole is run by an enthusiastic couple: local lad Paul Lacheray, in the kitchen and his partner, Chloé Woestelandt, who runs the dining room with considerable brio…" - Michelin Inspector

What a delicious food they serve. The pork loin was cooked to perfection with a good sauce to complement the meat. The wine selections are amazing. The chocolate ganache was basically ‘death by chocolate.’ the service was slow since they were busy but it was worth waiting.

Absolutely beautiful food and champagne, in a gorgeous intimate setting. I was welcomed in by the chefs who cook just off the main door. Beautifully fresh and juicy oysters, a great little amuse bouche with fascinating and smart flavours, mussels in the loveliest brothy sauce, the best duck breast I’ve had in France, and amazing warm and welcoming service throughout.

Superb food and service. I now wish I wasn’t travelling through but staying a while. I’d definitely be back. Really delicious food, possibly the best of our France trip so far, and the types of wines we love, both by the glass and by the bottle. Thank you team!

Highly recommended. A popular restaurant with a delightful menu and great ambience. Getting attention of the two servers when they hide behind the bar and don't seem keep a watchful eye open can require some patience!

This place is absolutely fantastic. A more than welcome suprise when you visit Honfleur. Lovely atmosphere and incredibly friendly Chefs & Staff. The wine selection is great, the food is absolutely fantastic and affordable for the quality being served. (Tip: unexpectedly, the best seat on the place is actually the table by the entrance, fantastic experience).

I recently visited Huitre Brûlée which I was excited about since it’s in the Michelin Guide. Booking a table online was easy, setting high hopes for the evening. The dinner started great. The seviche and gazpacho were amazing, full of flavor and beautifully made as well as one main course. But my partner’s main course - mackerel- was a letdown. It was so sour that we couldn’t taste anything else. The service had its ups and downs. They poured our champagne the first time, but after that, I had to pour it myself. The owner also mishandled my seviche plate, taking the dirty cutlery from the plate herself and dropping it right in front of me. It felt like humiliation. It stayed there until I asked the waitress to remove it (our waitress was ok, she at least made effort to connect with us). I even had to use the napkin for our champagne to clean the table. This level of service felt more like a cheap street food experience than a Michelin-listed restaurant. Overall, the appetizers were fantastic, but the service left much to be desired. For a place in the Michelin Guide, I expected better consistency in both food and service.

Yelp
One of our most pleasant dining experiences in Honfleur. The restaurant was in a beautiful restored residence near the center of town. It had tremendous atmosphere, excellent food and an attentive staff

Yelp
We found a little restaurant that has only been open 3 months, Huitre Brûlée, 8 rue Brûlée, 09 82 57 90 18. Grade - "A"! It has only a dozen or so tables, a 4 top in the outside courtyard, an 8 top round inside and the others 3-4 but anything can expand a little. It is quite comfortable and simply but prettily decorated. The menu (carte) is small too but interesting, as is the wine list (hand picked with only 3 in each of a half dozen categories), but there is a new, well priced "menu" (complete meal) each day. The chef's name is Paul Lacheray, foodies should remember in case he ever moves away from what he's created. We ordered 2 "menus". The entrée was green asparagus and carrots, roasted with a light sauce of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, cumin and chives with shavings of a cheese that most resembled an orange cheddar. Absolutely delightful and different. The " plat" was a seared duck breast, a steak if you will, perfectly cooked "rosé" and tender, with fava beans and roast potatoes in a light sauce of olive oil, capers, mustard seed, chives and secret stuff. Fabulous. Desert was a thick chocolate mousse, with chocolate shavings and "crunchies". Terrific. His cuisine is one of light sauces both in consistency and flavor, and worked perfectly with his dishes. Go here! We actually went back that night for a couple of appetizer to test their regular menu. After ordering we were given an amuse bouche of little slice of squid lightly roasted with a little soy. I had, no surprise, 6 oysters titled "4 + 2 surprises". I eat oysters with nothing added, no lemon, no mignonettes, no nothing, but I wanted to see what he did. Well one came with a little of a very light mignonette and the other with a little faux caviar. Two very interesting and light changes, but when you have very fresh oysters, they are hard to improve on. Nice try though. Just had an appetizer of lightly sautéed in olive oil with some steamed broccoli and potatoes. I have never eaten such tender squid, simply a delicious dish. So I asked if I could get a half dozen of the amuse Bosch squid to finish the meal, and they were nice enough to do that for me. Added data for my go-here-al-all-costs recommendation, although their prices are very modest, even cheap for that quality.
