Pizzeria from the team behind Lazy Betty and Juniper Cafe, with chef-driven dishes.
"When it comes to great pizza, we're equal opportunity lovers of all the pie styles—Chicago, Detroit, New York, Neapolitan, etc. But we'll admit our bias toward the Atlanta-style pizza. What is Atlanta-style, you ask? The Lemon Pepper Wet pizza, of course. Invented by pop–up Phew’s Pies, the wood-fired pizza features a tangy lemon pepper sauce in place of the traditional marinara. It's topped with mozzarella cheese, shreds of seasoned chicken, and two wings in the center, and it tastes like dipping your crispy pie crust into the perfectly seasoned sauce at the bottom of your wing container. It's the wings and pizza solution rolled into one. Phew’s can be harder to track down than a parking spot at the Midtown Trader Joe’s, but they do make regular appearances at Outrun Brewing and Scofflaw Brewing." - juli horsford, nina reeder, jacinta howard
"A popular pizza place known for its lunch buffet, solid wine list, and dessert menu." - Henna Bakshi
"A popular pizza place known for its wood-fired pizzas, lunch buffet, and a tight selection of natural wines. Backed by Lazy Betty chefs Ron Hsu and Aaron Phillips." - Henna Bakshi
"This pizzeria works well for date nights when you want the familiar comfort of a good pie but with “big night out” touches like truffle add-ons and sweet, fresh fruit cocktails. Humble Pie is from the innovative Lazy Betty team, so there are some interesting pizzas on the rotating menu, like a tasty Cajun version with shrimp and étouffée sauce. And while we’re heartbroken that the clam pie with a buttery dipping broth isn’t a mainstay, it’s better to have loved and lost. Allegedly. " - jacinta howard, juli horsford, nina reeder
"Coming from the innovative Lazy Betty team, this posh pizzeria in the late-night Interlock scene is a big draw for big kids. While Humble Pie no longer carries the clam pie (damn them), they have a few other elevated pizza pairings that you’ll fantasize over like a tween over their last fanfiction read. We might be getting a bedroom wall poster made of the cajun-flavored pie with shrimp and étouffée sauce. And with locally milled whole wheat flour, the crusts here have a subtle earthy flavor and a satisfying crunch that stands apart from the usual pies. " - nina reeder, demarco williams, juli horsford
