I'd recommend trying this place if you haven't been. The menu has lots of items, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is very relaxed. We got egg rolls (which for some reason I forgot to take a picture of) and they were very good. Our meals were really good too. It was my mom and I who ate at the restaurant. We were in Rochester for appointments at the Mayo Clinic. We live in Mankato so a few times a year we'll venture over to Rochester. This is a place that is high on our list for eating at while there. One of the main waitresses is an older Asian lady and she's super sweet and fun if she's your server. Definitely try this place! Thank you for taking the time to read my review.

If you're looking for better Chinese restaurant, try this one. If you've been to LeeAnn Chin and had a bowl full of overcooked spaghetti in sugary syrup pretending to be an Asian dish, or one of many dilapidated Chinese restaurants serving frozen supermarket "Chinese" food... Come here and enjoy GOOD Chinese food, and generous portions, at great prices. I brought my family (who are used to very authentic Chinese food in Mauritius where they are from) Everything was cooked fresh, well seasoned, and tasted far more authentic than any chain. The Thai tea was excellent, and they serve crispy noodles with sauces while you order. The staff was attentive, helpful, and very friendly. Overall, it was a great experience. We will be back, and I'd strongly recommend it to anyone looking for something a little more authentic and high quality.

The food is great. The atmosphere is good except for the owners arguing with each others in the open and so loud that all the customers can hear them. I lost my appetite after hearing all the argument. My wife and I probably will not go eat in again but will order out from there. I think as a business owner, any disagreement should discuss behind close door not in the open that you disturb your customers while they are dinning.

The sesame chicken was INCREDIBLE. It's nothing like the gooey dense stuff you get at other Asian restaurants. This stuff is crispy and fresh! And the eggrolls were nearly burrito size!! I love this place. Service was great and you can tell the waitress loves working there. She was very attentive and lovely. I haven't been here since I was little, but it's better than I remember.

I stopped in for lunch while going to some appointments at Mayo Clinic. I had the mixed vegetables with chicken lunch special and it was delicious. All of the items; the won ton soup, crab Rangoon, chicken wings and the main dish were served hot and fresh. An excellent value and totally recommend. I’ll be back the next time I’m in town.

We love Hunan Garden, and it's our go-to Chinese restaurant in Rochester. We love that they use more veggies in a lot of their dishes than many other places (for example, the sweet and sour chicken comes with bell peppers, pineapple, and carrot, and they have a few vegetarian options like broccoli with garlic sauce). The people there are always friendly, and the food is always consistently delicious and well-made. It's a really great place to get good, reliable take-out on those days when you're just too tired to cook.

Edit: the restaurant reached out and offered to help correct the issue. Very respectable and nice response to get. Ordered the cashew chicken and it ended up being around 60% onions. We also got no rice with our order which seemed weird. I would love to give a higher rating cuz the food tastes good, but the contents of the dishes was very lacking.

Went there for dinner, group of 4. We asked a couple coming out of the restaurant how it was and they said it was "the best" so we went in. The atmosphere was bland. There was only one or two other tables of people in the restaurant. The menu has many items on it. They had a "family dinner" option that includes soup, egg role, etc...but was a bit confusing. Said you had to have at least 2 people to get it, but you got your own main dish (from a limited selection). So it seems like you have to share, but you really don't. The waitress was certainly nice enough, but her English was not great, so we had a bit of a challenge asking questions, etc. All four of us thought the food was mid. I realize there may not be a lot of Chinese options in Rochester...but this was nothing to write home about. I will say, as others here have as well, the egg roll was very good.
