Grant and Renée have really smashed it.. no million dollar facility with views atop a hill and inflated prices, just pure and unadulterated wines that are DELICIOUS.
We lucked out on the club-only Marianas Chardonnay since the standard offering was sold out, and it was the best Chardonnay I’ve ever had (always disliked California style).
Then 4 other Pinots with different expressions of each vineyard, some that are blocks other producers get fruit from so it was fun to compare to what else we had tasted on the same plot. All were excellent, the Eola-Amity was our favorite of the morning but a tight race with the own-rooted.
Grant does all the label art and gave us some background on his inspiration for these which was so cool. Much more relational than some others where you just get a few tasting notes from the hospitality staff and then they have to go lookup or ask a manager answers to questions. Grant has worked at some top producers in California and here in Oregon and it really shows.
