This place never disappoints! Their Naruto Roll is hands down the best fried roll I’ve ever had—perfectly crispy, packed with flavor, and something I can’t stop coming back for. I also tried one of their bento boxes, and it was simply delicious. Everything was fresh, well-portioned, and full of flavor, making it a great choice if you want to try a little bit of everything. And of course, their shrimp tempura was just as amazing—light, crispy, and cooked just right. Great food, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere—definitely a spot worth visiting!

I’ve been wanting to try Hungry Belly for a while, and I finally got the chance! My partner and I ordered the Korean Short Rib Bento Box, which came with salad, California rolls, rice, and potstickers. I also ordered a miso soup on the side since it wasn’t included (I’m so used to bento boxes including soup). The flavors were good, and the food was satisfying overall. The restaurant itself is cute, small, and inviting, and the staff was nice. However, the service could use some improvement. Our server kept forgetting things, and I didn’t feel comfortable asking again. Also, for $25, the bento box felt a little pricey, especially without soup included. $70 including tip for 2 bento boxes, a soda, and miso soup is pricey more than what I’m used to. I came during lunch, but they didn’t have a lunch menu, so everything was full price. Despite the service and pricing, I’m interested in returning to try their sushi. Hopefully, my next visit will be a smoother experience!

Google
This local chinese food restaurant was very tasty. We enjoyed hungry belly fries with kimchi. Thanh was an awesome waiter and knew about all the recipes and what would go best with what. We will definitely be back! We also had one of the Korean bolgogi bento boxes. 100% yumm.

Google
Definitely a MUST TRY spot - small parking lot - big tasty food portions - good service - atmosphere is fine, pretty close together tables, etc. A TON of TO GO and PICKUP orders - so it’s very popular. The food was a tad on the salty side for me - but it’s also part of some of the choices I made - like the Spam and adding sauces to items. But portions are large and they have a SUPER awesome Happy Hour Menu…tried the cold sake (the hot sake would have been better) but it was just okay. The spam was super salty for my taste so I could only eat one piece. The Pork Katsu Bento Box was great - a little variety of different items to try and it was super tasty!

Came with a friend for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the food! The parking can be a little tricky but we were able to secure a spot. The restaurant wasn’t that big on the inside and we were seated at a two top booth style. The customer service was consistent throughout the evening. We started the evening with various appetizers of edamame, chicken egg rolls, krab rangoon, and beef gyoza. We enjoyed these items and they were a good start to our meal. I did take advantage of the happy hour and ordered two glasses of wine as well as their flavored sake (hot, mango) to enjoy later. I ordered the sushi sampler (tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and snapper) and the fish was tasty and fresh. Additionally, I ordered the sesame chicken bento box which comes with rice, salad, half of California roll, and beef gyoza. I did enjoy this box as you’re presented with various items but the sesame chicken could’ve came out a hotter (temperature). My friend ordered a speciality sushi roll and she did say she enjoyed it. Overall, we had a good time and I do expect to return for other items and drinks!

Google
Pretty good service, greated upon arrival and sat down. Water is automatically brought out. Spicy edamame was good. Got the geisha roll and hama hama roll. Both were tasty and a good size. For the dish bulgogi dolsot bibimbap was amazing. Comes with a side of banchan. Overall I recommend this chill casual spot. They have bar and soju.

Some of the best Korean food in Dallas! Miso Soup - 10/10 Shishito Peppers - 10/10 Kimchi Fried Rice - 10/10 Spicy Korean Chicken Bento - 10/10

Google
Ordered through door dash, but everything I ordered came correctly + napkins and silverware so service is great; just can’t speak to the inside space/vibes. Got a few different rolls and all were reasonably priced. Started with edamame, standard, good crunch, lightly salted. Also had the shrimp gyoza, solid flavor and a nice dipping sauce on the side. Got a spicy tuna roll, eel roll, dragon roll and rainbow roll. Star of the show was the eel and dragon roll, others were fairly mid with less flavor.

Yelp
Always amazing food and service. The sushi coming out on the boat was so cute. Went for my friend's birthday so got the medium boat as a special treat. Everything was delicious. Along with the sushi and sashimi the two rolls were the dragon fly roll and the tuna tower. Was the perfect amount of food for two people.

Yelp
We were in Dallas over Christmas break and I'm always looking for some good Asian eats. The first night, I was looking for some noodle soup on Christmas night for my toddler who was sick. I found some udon noodle soup and decided to order via UberEats, along with the Pork Tonkotsu Ramen and some pieces of sushi. What came was surprisingly delicious!! The udon noodle soup had a nice umami broth. The normal one, with no meat addition came with tempura crumbs and seaweed. Toddler devoured it; which was nice cause he hadn't had much of an appetite for anything. Ramen was a very decent portion and the sushi was fresh and delicious! We liked it so much we came by 2 days later for lunch before making the drive back home. There is a front lot that looks pretty packed but also a side lot with plenty of spaces! The restaurant was small and cozy. Service was tentative, yet not overbearing! -Agadashi Tofu: not what I was expecting at all! It was large triangles of fried tofu with a thicker sweet sauce, not like the tradition broth you pour over the tofu with the bonito flakes. Tofu was crispy and flavor was nice. I surprisingly enjoyed this dish. -Belly Fries: large sizzling platter came out with cheese melted over fries and bulgogi. We got the spicy mayo on the side so our toddler can eat them. Was good but on the dry side cause maybe of the mayo. -Soonduboo: I always love a good spicy seafood Korean tofu soup. This one came with the Korean sides and rice. It wasn't boiling hot like other places but came loaded with tofu, calamari rings, shrimp, and small scallops. Good flavors, though not as strong as I would like, and because it was loaded with things, it wasn't as brothy, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. -Sushi: we had an assortment of king and Scottish salmon, escolar, Otoro, tobiko, and unagi. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. Fiance said the sushi was the star of the show this meal. I thought the unagi was a bit overcooked. Everything else was good, salmon and tobiko stood out the most. Good serviced great ambiance and a good meal for the large variety of dishes they offer!

Yelp
The food was delicious! A group of my friends and I went and enjoyed everything we had. Service was great, especially since one of the employees was a sorority sister. The inside was a bit small but there is outdoor seating available. Parking lot is small as well so be prepared to navigate. If you drive a very large vehicle, it may be difficult. I will definitely be back when I'm in Dallas again!

Josh P.

Yelp
Amazing every time I come came for my BDay and had the medium boat so worth it and it's perfect for two.

Brooke A.

Yelp
I was surprised that I wasn't a huge fan since the ratings are so high. I got a chicken teriyaki bento box to go and I wasn't a huge fan of the salad, my gyoza were cold (I picked up right on time), my chicken was somewhat dry and the teriyaki came on the side. The California roll was good though!

James G.

Yelp
Not my first time here - but this time we tried NEW things. The restaurant has a tiny parking lot (it's tight!) and small inside seating area - but they seem to be popular for TO GO and PICKUP orders. Started with some Happy Hour items... $4 cold sake And then the Spam Masubi, which I think was super salty...but tasty. I can only eat one piece though. Had the Pork Bento Box and EVERYTHING inside this dish is great. You get a LOT of food for your money here. We didn't do dessert, but had good conversation and food. The service was good. Plenty of refills on our drinks, too.

Bill W.

Yelp
Good sushi. This place used to be a poke restaurant. There are lots of Korean dishes which are great esp since you don't haha to drive all the way out to carrolton or Royal to get quality Korean.

Yelp
Really good Korean and Japanese food. I was impressed by their assortment of kimbap - and ordered the spicy tuna mayo one. Also got a spicy tonkatsu ramen, fried shumai appetizer and also their shishito peppers. Nice beverage selection and got a Ramune plus a Perrier. Service was very attentive and prompt, and the ambience is very cozy / intimate Gastropub-like. Recommended!

Sophia L.

Yelp
The inside was small but nicely decorated with good ambiance for a date night. I ordered the kimchi fries, vegetable tempura roll and pad Thai. They were all delicious and brought to me fairly quickly. I love that they had vegetarian options. Great place!! Great service!!

Melanie T.

Yelp
We love hungry belly. The sushi bento boxes are our go to. $20 for 2 rolls plus a salad and salmon sashimi! I wish there was a location a little closer to lake highlands so I could go even more often. The service is always quick and kind as well.

Yelp
Walked in with 3 people about 9:00 pm on a Monday night and was seated right away. It's a small restaurant but small things can come in big packages. Had the spicy edamame, beef gyoza and crab Rangoon to start. Finished with the beef bulgogi bento box (say that three times fast). Everything was sooo delicious! The gyoza was perfectly crispy. The crab Rangoon was delectable and the sauce it comes with is *chef's kiss.* Would recommend to anyone!

Aditi R.

Yelp
The food at Hungry Belly was DELICIOUS! The price to portion ratio was fantastic, with super flavorful food. I recommend the Bulgogi Bento Box!!! The service was pretty standard, the staff were kind and the food came out pretty quickly. No complaints there! The inside of the restaurant is pretty small but they have a nice heated, covered patio (I recommend the patio more than the inside seating). Only issue is that parking is pretty limited so keep that in mind! I will definitely be coming back here!

Johnny C.

Yelp
Parking is horrible, but luckily it wasn't that packed on a Saturday night. Got sat down quickly and overall the atmosphere is more Korean than japanese. Food: Bulgogi Kimbap 7/10 Spam Musubi 6.5/10 surprisingly very flavorful Loaded Kimchi Fries 7.5/10 Super cheesy and the kimchi worked really well, just the fires were not good Yellowtail Sashimi 3/10 flavor was horrible and texture was chewy and slimy Spicy Pork Bulgogi 4/10 meat was chewy and vegetables didn't work well together, only thing decent was the flavor Overall if you go stick to the Korean food and not the sushi as it is Korean bar style food.

Audra F.

Yelp
Everything we ordered was delicious! Great service, quality food and decent prices. We will be back.

Priscilla C.

Yelp
Great service and the food was amazing! Honestly my favorite was the kimbap it was delicious! Highly recommend trying this place!

Joseph F.

Yelp
Ambiance was really cool. It was very small but it worked. It seemed like the type of place to always be crowded and at times it was hard to hear my guest, but not too much of an issue. Service was interesting. Much of the time, we had different staff come up to take our order, which made it seem like there was no real organization to the place. Food was fine. It was tough to get help with my gluten allergy and despite being helped by most of the service staff, only one member was able to actually navigate the menu with me. BUT she was amazing and ended up being our "main server," coming back to make sure we were okay and that the food was gluten free and just chatting with us. I don't recall her name, but she was definitely the highlight!

Natalie T.

Yelp
I was looking for some good sushi since moving to Dallas and I think I found my place! Hungry Belly is in Knox Park area and their building even looks like an old gas station! (I could be wrong) They have a small parking lot which is rare for the area but super helpful! It's a very quaint restaurant but I appreciate that! I went on a Sunday evening and got sat immediately. Our server was so nice and attentive, I wish I got her name because she was awesome. My guest and I both ordered the Sushi Bento box, I think this is the best option if you're looking for some basic rolls! We also got some soju that was delicious! Great service, great food and an overall great experience!! I plan on coming back to try speciality rolls!

Amanda L.

Yelp
Okay, so I want to preface that maybe we ordered wrong. I got the ahi tuna tower which was a little small looking when I first saw it, but it actually was a decent amount for a meal and tasted pretty yummy! My boyfriend got the katsu bowl and hated it a lot. Katsu meat was odd and the veggies was over salted in my opinion. However, service was fantastic; one of my best experiences. Our server (didn't grab his name but he was new, just started about two weeks ago) was really chill and easy going. Super great. I would consider coming back here just for the service and would just order differently.

Christine W.

Yelp
Service was fast and friendly. It's a smaller restaurant, but that doesn't take away from a lovely experience there! The food was fresh and delicious. We tried the belly fries, bento box with Korean ribs, and salmon sushi/sashimi bento box!

Kayla N.

Yelp
While in Dallas for a recent work event, we decided to order from Hungry Belly for lunch. We all ordered our own dishes, so I settled on the Tuna Avocado Roll and the Chicken Eggrolls. The sushi roll was ok, but didn't taste overly fresh and needed a lot of soy sauce to make it taste just right. The eggrolls however were delicious and left me wanting more! Our entire team seemed to enjoy their food overall! I would try hungry belly again but would visit in person rather than grabbing the food to-go.

Rachel K.

Yelp
Landed in Dallas late and many places were closed. We were lucky enough to stumble upon Hungry Belly. It's a cute and trendy space. The parking is pretty decent for Dallas. The bento boxes are a steal! We both got the sushi roll bento. I would highly recommend the Lotus Roll. It is so unique and truly amazing. For coming in close to the end of the night, we appreciated the kindness of the staff. They even gave us some recommendations for while we were in town.

Jaime Z.

Yelp
Hungry belly has amazing food. The service is great and they will have sushi out to you in less than 10 minutes. The location of this restaurant seems weird from the outside but once you get inside, it has a nice atmosphere.

Ana N.

Yelp
I am so impressed with this place. Every time I am in town I make it point to come here. The happy hour drink menu is awesome!

Anastasiya T.

Yelp
It's a good choice for dinner, nothing special but good. Service is prompt, food is delicious. I wouldn't pick this place for special occasions but it's a good place for casual dinner

Kekentia G.

Yelp
Hungry Belly Japanese Dallas Cute warehouse style Love the rope ceiling! Sushi bar but it's not one you can sit at (at the moment). But they were under some construction when we visited so maybe that will change? The atmosphere looks to aim at casual upscale; the ceiling sports really a cool assemblage of ropes come together into a pleasing artsy design. The tables and half booths are cozy and intimate. They even have outside dining with the larger "Christmas bulb" lighting black lighting the overhead. I bet this looks very cool at night! The FOOD is where it's at tho! The daughter and I tried some of our regular faves, chicken teriyaki and Kalbi ribs, to see how THEY make it! We were not disappointed! The kalbi was marinated and grilled to perfection w the yummy grill char that we love so much. The Teriyaki Chicken was tender and juicy. We got banchan (sides) with our kalbi, which are our fave part of Korean food. Ours consisted of a marinated tofu, spicy greens, cabbage kimchi and a bologna and green pepper which I've never had before but was pleasantly surprised by the flavor combo! We also had veggie tempura, and I had tuna sashimi; which I always partake of when I visit a good Japanese restaurant. It was SOOOOOO good!!! The tuna tasted fresh and clean; not a hint of fishiness and still firm flesh, lovely texture and top notch flavor! Check these guys out next time you are in the Dallas area!

Grace U.

Yelp
Great place to get some good Asian food late night on a week day. We got the bulgogi and short rib bowls. They come with a healthy amount of meat, rice and veggies so those are great options if you're really hungry. Also, the salmon avocado roll was really good. Service was friendly and the vibe was casual. Definitely check it out.

Jacob H.

Yelp
Always good everything you try. Ivr had two different ramens, all really good Bento box is a ton of food for the price, which is definitely worth the money The waiting area is a bit odd, so I suggest calling ahead ? Or I guess making a reservation I haven't called, so I'm not sure about the process, but I know they have a reservation system in place

Ameya D.

Yelp
My review is simply for a take out so I wouldn't comment on the service or ambiance. The reason for such a low rating is simply the fact I didn't realize until later that "Hungry Belly" is what you feel like *after* dining there! The portions are so small. The food is decent but still, the $30+ appetizer and entree i ordered barely registered and just felt like starters. While there are other things on the menu that do look interesting, I'll pass on this spot in favor of several other places that offer a more fulfilling experience.

Robert S.

Yelp
I got the sushi bento box and my party also got the bulgogi fries and the 2 different types of noodle bowl. Everyone enjoyed their food - except the japchae - that no one really cared for. We ended up taking it home and just threw it away. Service was really good and very attentive. It was really crowded the whole time we were there. Parking is decent - they have their own private lot.

Tiffany N.

Yelp
This is a cute little spot to meet up with friends or go on a date! We came here with our party of 6 & were seated right away. We got the bulgogi fries, japchae, & I got a bento sushi box while the rest of my family got various things. I got the shrimp tempura roll & the salmon roll. Everything was delicious & tasted really fresh! service was really good, everyone was so nice and patient with us.

Payton F.

Yelp
This was my first time trying pork katsu and wow! This was delicious. I ordered the bento box and thoroughly enjoyed the pork katsu, the house salad, and the rice. You can totally skip out on the dumplings and cali roll in my opinion. I also didn't care for the sauce they provided, I just used soy sauce. Was a nice size serving, I ate mine in two sittings. Must try!

Cel S.

Yelp
The food was pretty good, but I do wish they used some different katsu sauce as it wasn't the best. The rest of the menu seems kind of overpriced (the korean part of their menu is pretty expensive for what you're getting), but the bento is a pretty good deal. They give a LOT of katsu. The service was pretty slow even though there weren't many people dining in. I don't know if this is considered one of the better Asian places in Dallas without having to go all the way to Carrollton, but it's just alright. If you want to get your cravings satisfied without driving all the way, this is a good place to check out.

Dustin U.

Yelp
This isn't the best, but it's a solid go to spot. Convenient, fairly quick service, reasonably priced, and a relaxed environment. I love how hot the Miso Soup is. I feel like the quality of the sashimi is good, but not the best. Same for the variety of sashimi options. The Korean short rib bento is very good as are the Moscow Mules.

Justin N.

Yelp
Ordered this place on Uber Eats since I always drive by it and wanted to check it out for lunch. Since it was delivery was not expecting same quality as if it was fresh, but the food was really good. Good platter of food for lunch. However, the salad the dressing was a bit too sour/bitter for my liking. The rice to meat ratio is completely off. It was $27 before tax and tip and fees for delivery which is really expensive for what it is.

Christian C.

Yelp
So nice not having to drive all the way to Carrolton/Plano for some quality Korean/Japanese food. The food came out fast and hit the spot. Our server was extremely attentive and you can tell she enjoys her job. She cares about her customers and made our stay very pleasant.

Aaron W.

Yelp
The food is excellent, especially the Hungry Fries with the Asahi on draft. The service is great and the atmosphere is relaxing.

John B.

Yelp
Food is always good but service is kind of hit and miss. It's a small place, but has a nice atmosphere. You usually have to waive down a server as they are walking by. They don't usually stop at your table unless you make eye contact. If the weather is nice, they do have a large covered patio. Parking it tight so usually plan to park on one of the side streets. One of these times I want to try the ramen or Udon noodle soup.

Rebecca G.

Yelp
My favorite roll here is the panic roll with them fresh jalapeños. Also can't go wrong with any of the fries (hungry, kimchi, or belly). The Gyoza is always a hit. I like sitting outside when the weather is right because the inside can be a little crammed. All the servers are genuinely nice and work hard for their tips.

Lindsey C.

Yelp
Ordered the Korean Short Ribs Bento and my friend got the Sushi & Sashimi Bento. The short ribs were tender and super flavorful. I'd definitely order this when I go again - it's that good and I highly recommend trying it! Also, the California roll is incredibly delicious. The sushi & sashimi bento comes with four pieces of the chef's choice of sushi, salmon sashimi, seaweed salad and a California roll. My friend really enjoyed this meal. The portion sizes were great and I love how both of them were presented. Customer service was good and I'm super excited to go back and try other items on the menu!

Danielle G.

Yelp
Small place with limited parking but the fish is so good. I got yellow tail heaven. The yellowtail had a butter like flavor and the slice wasn't too thin or think just the right amount. Also it was on top of ponzu sauce and it was very minimal but you could taste the flavor. I also got king salmon. It wasn't the best I've had but it was still good. The squid was very good and the slice was cut perfectly. I would recommend to come try this place out!

Alyssa J.

Yelp
The food was AMAZING LIKE WOW!!!!! I had been wanting to try this place for a year now but just never got around and wow that was a huge mistake because this place is freaking great! The service was quick and even with drinks I was in and out in 30 min. 12/10 MUST TRY THIS PLACE

Timothy Y.

Yelp
Sumptuous and reasonably priced Asian-fusion cuisine. Last minute decision. No reservation but manager accommodated us and made room. Attentive and caring staff especially John - impeccable service and host. Great and tasty bento box. We enjoyed the ambiance and service. Great place to explore when visiting in Downtown Dallas. Highly recommended. Will done again.

Marilyn L.

Yelp
Hungry belly is one of my go-to spots for eating out in Dallas! I always get the hungry fries (cheese fries topped w/ bulgogi) or crab rangoons as my appetizer and these never disappoint. The sushi is amazing especially for the price, and the quality beats the more expensive sushi restaurants I've tried around the DFW area. The bento boxes are also a great deal, as they come with lots of side dishes and can usually be eaten for two meals (my favorite is the pork katsu). Aside from the delicious food, the service is also excellent. The waiters are very attentive, and the food is served quickly even when the restaurant is really busy. I highly recommend coming here!

Priscilla C.

Yelp
Came here on a weekend and it was PACKED. They have a lot of options. Not sure how "authentic" it is because they serve sushi, orange chicken, and pho (have never seen this at a sushi spot). I thought that was kind of weird but I would come back. They also had a lychee flavored sake which was fun to have.

David H.

Yelp
Been here 2x and it's so so good! Had the hungry fries & bento box definitely enjoyed! Will be back :)

Karen R.

Yelp
I have now had Hungry Belly at least 5 times over the last two months and consistently the food it top notch. My office orders from here about 3 times a month because its that good and everyone loves it. Repeat orders of Spicy Salmon Roll, Tuna & Salmon Tower, Wow Roll, Green Ninja Roll and variety on Bento boxes. I have not been to the restaurant yet so I can't give my input on the service and ambiance yet, but if it's anything like the food you can bet it will be a go to for many!
