VEGANS BEWARE!
As repeat customers, we were incredibly disappointed with our last visit. First, we ordered drinks. My partner asked for a sweet and sour rum-based drink. The bartender’s response was ridiculous — she literally said, “sweet and sour makes no sense to my brain,” and just stared at us blankly. It wasn’t until I explained how to make the drink that she reluctantly complied. Honestly, any bartender should be able to handle such a simple request.
Next came the food order:
Vegan tenders with no slaw and no ranch.
Vegan cheeseburger with vegan mayo and vegan bacon.
What we received was:
Real chicken tenders, complete with slaw and ranch.
Vegan cheeseburger with mayo, but no vegan bacon.
When I asked the bartender about the vegan bacon, she couldn’t even tell me if I was charged for it, because she claimed she needed the exact order amount — which I couldn’t provide because she didn’t give us a receipt.
Here’s where things got really bad: my partner, thinking they were eating the vegan tenders, had already taken a few bites before realizing they had been given real chicken. We tried to bring this up to the bartender, and her response was rude, and completely dismissive: “I didn’t cook it.” This was devastating for my partner, who has been vegan for years, and unfortunately, it made them feel sick all night. I get that some people may not understand the seriousness of this, but if you’re running a place with multiple vegan options, there should be serious care taken when preparing vegan orders. Accidentally serving real chicken is beyond unacceptable.
To make matters worse, there was no real apology or offer to fix the situation. She did offer a $13 credit for the chicken tenders (somehow she was now magically able to find the order without the exact order amount), but there was no offer to remake the tenders, or to make something else to make up for the mistake, nor was the vegan bacon refunded. The worst part? She couldn’t even be bothered to show any empathy. We left feeling completely brushed off.
Honestly, for a place that boasts a variety of vegan options, this was a huge disappointment. I worked in the service industry for over a decade, and I can confidently say this was one of the most poorly handled situations I’ve ever seen in a restaurant.
I emailed the email address listed on Google and sent a message on IG the next day, only to be completely ignored, so I’m writing this review now. It takes a LOT for me to leave a bad review, but this was a horrible experience. We will never be back.
