Yelp
Interesting place. Let me try to give an honest breakdown....
THE LOCATION:
Cedar Springs... roughly two blocks (or so) from Streets Fine Chicken. The street is pretty busy with clubs, bars and other shops, but you can find adequate parking if you're patient and crafty enough. There's even parking (slightly) in front the restaurant... but again, you gotta stay on top of it and simply be lucky. All that to say that it's not terribly hard to find, and it's not "a hustle district" (like Deep Ellum) when it comes to paid parking or valet vultures.
THE PLACE:
Has a retro diner vibe. You can eat outside or inside. If it's night time (and the weather is nice) I recommend outside. The bathrooms (at least for the men) are not private. There's a urinalysis right next to the toilet. It's kind of pointless because when someone goes in, they lock the door and have a choice between a urinalysis or toilet. And to be honest, it might be awkward to urinate in there if someone is doing a "number two" and you two catch eyes. It's just a "crappy" time for small-talk. (NOTE: That's not implying anything other than the fact that bathroom moments are personal/ private and a separator should be there to divide the urinalysis from the toilet)
ANYWAYS.... Moving on...
THE PEOPLE:
Extremely friendly
THE FOOD:
You place your order at the register, pay and they give you a number for your order. The food came out rather quickly. Burgers cooked medium-well. I suggest the onion rings if you go.
My only gripe is the bun. It was just thick, dense and dry. I'm not a fan. If I go back, I'd like to see if there are bun options. I'd be curious to see if there's a Hawaiian bun or something. My wife had sweet potato fries. I'm not a fan of sweet potato fries in general... and these didn't change my mind.
I'm very curious about the cakes. I didn't try them but I'll save that for another visit.
OVERALL:
I enjoyed it. I also had better burgers... Read my review on Kenny's Hamburgers in Plano. I still recommend this place but do your research on the menu. Really get into any choices on sides, bun or additions. Don't just go in and blindly order.
