Went here for the first time Friday night with another couple. Got there about 6:15PM and asked the woman working behind the bar how things worked..she said just take a seat anywhere, you order at the bar and they'll bring the food out. We took a seat at a large booth and then ordered back at the bar. Menu is mainly pizzas, salads, and several appetizers (hummus with crostini, pretzel with mustard, spicy whole grain mustard and their homemade beer cheese dip, some tortilla chips with dips, meat and cheese trays...good selections). My wife and I ordered the pretzel and the hangar salad along with the 11 inch pepperoni pizza. Our friends ordered the hummus, 11 inch margarita pizza and the pretzel. My wife ordered a chardonnay and I tried a flight of four beers....Kubaba (Pomegranite), Hazy IPA, another IPA, and a pale ale.
The pretzel was very good except they serve you the dipping sauces in very small metal cups. Our friends asked for another cup of the beer cheese (which is the best). We would've liked to have had another cup of the beer cheese but didn't ask. They really should serve a little more of the beer cheese, but I guess rather than wasting it they can give it to you if you ask. Our friends thought the spicy dijon was way too spicy. My wife and I liked it. The regular mustard was just a plain yellow mustard.
The hummus was very good, sort of had a refreshing lemon taste. The crustini was toasted a bit too crisp, but was good. We like our crostini crispy, but not as dark as their crostini was. Our friend was worried about it chipping a tooth!
Our pizza was great. The waitress at the bar recommended the pizza, along with another couple ordering at the bar. Great crust, crisp, and the pepperoni was excellent tasting. I'd order it again.
I definitely did not like the hazy IPA. The kebab was refreshing. I was hesitant to order a pomegranate beer, but on a hot summer day I did find it refreshing. I guess my favorite was the pale ale, but I'm to a beer specialist anymore since moving away from Wisconsin!
The Hangar salad was good, fresh, with ricotta cheese and a oil/vinegar type dressing. Menu said parmesan crusted croutons but they just looked like regular store bought croutons to me...nothing special.
Atmosphere is good, quite unique since you're in a microbrewery. Seating outside and also seating on the roof with live music scheduled for Saturday. I'd go back for the pizza.
