"Established in 1993 on downtown Montreal’s main nightlife vein of Crescent Street, this Irish pub makes a point of offering live music every night on its basement level. They’ve a sizeable menu of common pub fare to eat up alongside 19 beers on tap, as well as more than 50 single malts scotches and 16 whiskys." - JP Karwacki

"In downtown Montreal, Hurley’s is gearing up for St. Patrick’s Day and staff are feeling optimistic; I was told by general manager Rod Applebee that the holiday has always heralded good things and serves as a kick-off to summer. They plan to open around 10 a.m. on Thursday with live music in the afternoon that will play to the end of the night, and with an expected 15°C they’ll open up the front terrasse. The party runs through to Sunday for the city parade: Hurley’s will open at 8 a.m. for breakfast with Irish coffee before the parade and then have more live music from noon. Applebee noted that recently dropped capacity restrictions have brought plenty of locals back even if the usual American tourists are absent, and he’s feeling positive going into his twenty-seventh St. Patrick’s Day — 'double the happiness.'" - Holly Tousignant

"While Hurley’s — with its live music, sports games, and frequent university crowds — may not seem like the right spot for a quiet conversation upon first glance, the multi-floor venue touts handfuls of hidden nooks and crannies (as well as multiple small terraces) for twosomes or small groups to steal a quiet moment while sipping on a pint of Guinness in peace."

"Skim the menu of this unassuming pub on Crescent and you’ll find the Murph burger; a decadent pub classic packed with jalapenos, crispy onion rings, havarti cheese and chipotle sauce. While it’s not a vegetarian burger as is, just ask for the “vegetarian burger platter” dressed like a Murph burger — and don’t forget to wash it down with a pint of Guinness."

"Hurley’s turns 25 this year, and to celebrate, the pub is stretching the weekend to the maximum, with celebrations running Friday right through to Sunday — there’s breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday, and metaphorical bucketloads of Celtic music all weekend." - Tim Forster
