"In downtown Montreal, Hurley’s is gearing up for St. Patrick’s Day and staff are feeling optimistic; I was told by general manager Rod Applebee that the holiday has always heralded good things and serves as a kick-off to summer. They plan to open around 10 a.m. on Thursday with live music in the afternoon that will play to the end of the night, and with an expected 15°C they’ll open up the front terrasse. The party runs through to Sunday for the city parade: Hurley’s will open at 8 a.m. for breakfast with Irish coffee before the parade and then have more live music from noon. Applebee noted that recently dropped capacity restrictions have brought plenty of locals back even if the usual American tourists are absent, and he’s feeling positive going into his twenty-seventh St. Patrick’s Day — 'double the happiness.'" - Holly Tousignant
