Hush Public House

Saw this place on DDD and have wanted to try it ever since. So for my birthday, I chose this place 😊 I think it was pushing the higher end of the $$ rating that it has. Spent $200 for 4 people with only 2 drinks. Of course I had to try the Italian Beef. It was good, but a little too salty. My daughter ordered the Pan roasted branzino, which was very good. All-in-all, it was a good meal, just a bit pricey.

1st visit. Sat at the bar looking into the cook area. While that is always an entertaining view, the food was the star. Each plate we had was a winner. Crab Hushpuppies; Gilled Oysters; Duck Fried Rice; Italian Beef, Date Cake. I would get any of those again. But so much more to try. We went on Wine Wednesday so saved 50% on a nice bottle of Pinot. Service was wonderful. Questions answered and advice given. I am coming back and so should you.

The food is exceptional but the ambiance is markedly lacking. This place consists of two rooms. One that feels like a dinner with a row of crowded tables across from the bar and cooking station. It’s noisy and the air filled with cooking fumes. The other room feels like a cafeteria with a few scattered tables in a bland room. The food on the other hand is exquisite. An incredibly creative menu and each dish we ordered was perfectly done. While the food was great, going to a restaurant for me is an experience. This was not one that I would want to repeat. The service was good but the host could use some tips on how to welcome first timers who made a reservation two weeks in advance. A table by the bathroom is not worthy of a reservation.

Been dying to get over to try Hush on several friend’s recommendation, and was not disappointed. Had the Scallops and then Ox Tail, with the date cake dessert. Also a selection of drinks and the grilled oyster app. All well done and the dinning and drink experience you expect in high end culinary destinations. Staff were attentive and friendly, and nice to see full confidence in ALL the menu items.

What an excellent experience. The food is exceptional and on par with what we found in Europe. The kitchen is creative and the bar was superb. The staff was knowledgeable and no more than a second after we finished a plate anyone who was passing by was tending to the table even if it wasn’t our assigned waiter/waitress. A very too notch experience. Lots of people coming in shorts tshirts and hats. Some in decent clothes, but the atmosphere is relaxed with a taste of luxury. Felt very good. We got two cocktails which were amazing, crab hush puppies, duck fried rice, bbq octopus and oysters. The octopus and the oysters left a great impression. The hush puppies were delicious and the duck fried rice filled us up with great flavor. We finished with the date cake — do not skip dessert! We will be going back.

this place has been on my list to try & after seeing on DDD we had to come in ASAP. everything was 10/10. we shared an appetizer, 2 entrees & dessert and were stuffed!! my cocktail was delicious (the grand entrance). I don’t think you can go wrong here. The whipped eggplant and lamb, duck fried rice, ny strip & chocoate bundino were all amazing. we will definitely be coming back!

If you’re looking for a top quality, thoughtful food experience in a local package it’s HUSH! Our first time today and I must say the complexity of the food, and consistency was as good as anywhere in the city! Well done Chef! The cocktails are creative and not overly priced (welcome to Scottsdale” I had the braised rabbit and the oxtail with a frites as the starter. All exceptional!! Clearly the talent in the kitchen is professionally trained! First the French fries were the most consistent cooked throughout - crispy fries I have had in AZ - thank you for making them to order! The Rabbit was a suprise folded in a hand made pasta with a great sauce! The Oxtail is a main stay - if you go have it - awesome! Samantha was our server and she made the meal with great suggestions and experience. Now our new local stomp.. Thank you for the great work! James

I had heard Hush was a must-try spot among the best restaurants in the Phoenix area, and the hype was well justified. Hush offers an eclectic menu of artistically presented dishes that explore unique flavor combinations with exciting results. The portions are perfect for sharing a variety of selections with your date, and speaking of dates, the date cake is fantastic! The atmosphere is pleasant and unpretentious, and the service is professional and efficient without being overbearing. The food takes center stage at Hush, and it puts on a show worth the price of admission. My wife and I look forward to returning soon for an encore.
