The 38 Essential Restaurants in Phoenix

"Chef and owner Dom Ruggiero turns out the kind of sophisticated, satisfying American comfort food that keeps customers coming back on the regular. Menu highlights include crab hush puppies, mafaldine with pork ragu, duck-fried rice, and a deliriously good riff on Chicago’s Italian beef sandwich, made with braised oxtail." - Nikki Buchanan, Chris Malloy

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time! From start to finish, everything at Hush Public House Kitchen was phenomenal. The atmosphere was welcoming and elevated without feeling pretentious, and the service was warm and attentive. What truly made the night special was that Chef Zack himself came out to check on our table — such a personal and thoughtful touch. You can tell he genuinely cares about his craft and his guests. He asked how we were enjoying everything, and let me just say… his food speaks for itself. I ordered the steak, and it was cooked to absolute perfection — flavorful, tender, and exactly how I like it. Every appetizer we tried was to die for — beautifully presented and packed with flavor. You could honestly make a meal out of just the starters and leave happy. And don’t even get me started on the Old Fashioned — balanced, smooth, and expertly made. This place is a gem. Chef Zack and his team are creating something really special. If you haven’t been yet, do yourself a favor and go — you’ll be planning your return before dessert hits the table.

I've been following Hush Public House on Instagram for a while and decided to try it for my sister's birthday. Tucked away in a busy strip mall in North Scottsdale, Hush Public House did not disappoint! The cocktails were made to perfection and the food was fabulous! The pork tomahawk schnitzel with the apple butter was divine. You must try the whipped eggplant appetizer. The service is accommodating and the atmosphere in the bar area is lively, yet cozy. I will definitely be back!

Great little spot my wife found from TikTok. Wasn't expecting it to be pricey given how the outside looked but it didn't disappoint. My wife got the steak frites & I got the salmon. Both 5/5. We also got the cauliflower as an appetizer & it was some of the best (if not the best) cauliflower we've had. 100% recommend. 2 entrees, 1 app, 2 beers, & 1 martini cost us around $160.

Google
So, found Hush through Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. The drinks we tried were the Tomcat, the Scottsdale Cowboy, and the Nitro martini which were all delicious. The appetizer we tried was the whipped eggplant with lamb neck and a pita and it had a mild flavor that was reminiscent of baba ganoush. For our entrees, we had the Italian beef, the Duck fried rice, and the Lamb Agnolotti. The Italian beef was unbelievably delicious as were the other entrees. We tried the chocolate Bodino and it was creamy with a mild chocolate flavor that was both subtle and decadent. We will definitely be returning to Hush even though we live an hour away!!!

The food was absolutely incredible. I live in San Francisco and am very spoiled with high end dining and was very impressed with the chef, his creativity, the flavor profiles, the quality and the wine list. For as well thought out as the menu items are, the ambiance is a little low end. It's very causal the staff acted a bit like they had never worked in high end dining before. We boxed our own food at the end and our bill was almost $400 for three of us. We each had a cocktail followed by a bottle of Super Tuscan. If you're going for high-end, I would suggest keeping that consistent. Having the wait staff dress nicer, take the facial piercings out, don't have me box my own food while I'm wearing a dress and heals, create some better lighting, maybe fresh flowers etc. I will be back for sure as the chef and culinary creativity was wonderful. I also think a non-pop playlist, maybe spanish guitar, french, orchestra, classical, etc. The ambiance and music did not go with my wine and happy palette....

Google
The food and cocktails here are top-tier, no question. Unfortunately, the location and overall vibe don't quite align with the quality of the culinary experience or the price point. We walked in expecting an upscale Scottsdale experience, but it felt more like a very good, but standard, restaurant. While the food was delicious and the drinks were outstanding, the ambiance fell short of the mark. It's a strange dichotomy between the excellent food and the underwhelming setting.

Google
came here on a reservation and absolutely loved the food. everything was beyond delicious and you were actually able to see the chefs preparing it in the open kitchen style restaurant. the ravioli was amazing, and the steak frites was super juice and cooked to perfection. highly recommend this spot for a night out or just a lovely meal. very friendly service as well.

Saw this place on DDD and have wanted to try it ever since. So for my birthday, I chose this place 😊 I think it was pushing the higher end of the $$ rating that it has. Spent $200 for 4 people with only 2 drinks. Of course I had to try the Italian Beef. It was good, but a little too salty. My daughter ordered the Pan roasted branzino, which was very good. All-in-all, it was a good meal, just a bit pricey.

Yelp
I googled best restaurants around me and Hush popped up! I quickly made a reservation and upon arrival I was greeted by a friendly hostess. The atmosphere was dim, yet welcoming. My server gave great recommendations for me who does not eat pork and my guest who is pescatarian. I started with a spicy infused margarita, cauliflower and ended with the fried rice. The food was excellent! I cannot wait to come back and visit while I am Arizona next March!

Yelp
We've been through low Been through sunshine, been through snow All the colours of the weather We've been through high Every corner of the sky And still we're holding on together You got all my love... We wanted to love the... Hush Public House (Hush)... This Hush Restaurant is cold and uncomfortable w. poor lighting.. We ordered to share, an Appetiser of "Grilled Oysters", quite tasty... A "Frisée Salad" w. pear and candied walnuts..very enjoyable And "Confit Duck Fried Rice w. loads of Quack and Grilled Onions..good flavour, not heated properly.. A Server abruptly served all three dishes at us at once.. As if our table needed to be turned soon after. We sent back the Duck Dish to be served after our Appi and Salad were finished...Only to come back to us luke warm... This was a disappointing Anniversary Celebration for these Baby Boomers.. La-la la-la la-lay Whether it rains or pours, I'm all yours La-la la-la la-lay That's all, all I can say... Best, Avram Coldplay Jr.

Yelp
A friend of mine suggested we go here so we couldn't say no. The place doesn't look like much from the outside and it's in a strip mall as well. We made reservations just in case they were busy on the weekend. We arrived on time and waited just a few minutes before they sat us down. The place looked really nice inside, nice ambience. You can sit at the bar if you want to see the cooks cooking. We ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara or Paso Robles (sorry forgot which area). The wine was cold so they must keep their wine in fridges that are pretty cold temperature wise. The taste wasn't there being that it was too cold, so we let it rest for awhile to come close to room temperature. Once we did that, the wine was perfect, great flavor and tannins. We ordered some appetizers Cauliflower and the Hush puppies. The cauliflower was made nice and crispy with some garlic cheesy flavor. Top five I've ever had. The hush puppies were cooked good and was pretty good. It couldn't have used some more crab inside to help get that crab flavor. The dipping sauce was just okay. For our entrees, we ordered the Italian beef and the duck fried rice. The Italian beef was more like an open beef sandwhich with veggies, and a beef broth. The beef was tender and cooked perfect along with the veggies, the broth was a little salty, but overall, a great dish. The duck fried rice was cooked great, great flavor, rice was crispy, the duck was tender and didn't have the gamey flavor, and the dish was a good portion size. If you are looking for a good place to eat and drink, I suggest trying this place out.

Yelp
Great food. Great service. Nice atmosphere. We had the Crab Hushpuppies, Duck Fried Rice and Pasta with Braised Beef. We enjoyed them all but liked the duck fried rice the most.

Yelp
I have had to really take a moment before writing my review. If I could give the staff 5 stars I would! The restaurant style and layout nice but on a busy Friday night it was very loud. It was nice to see so many out and enjoying themselves. We went online looking for a great place to eat we were staying at the Hyatt, we uber there and we read the menu we were enticed. The Oxtail was what I wanted to try! The fries looked amazing. The downfall was they did not have a separate fryer to fry the fries and my friend has a shellfish allergy. So that was a no go.. the duck fried rice was a no go the two things she really wanted to try. We both ended up with the oxtail. When I say it was salty OMG it's really an open face sandwich on brioche bread. That bread was amazing it was thick cut so it held up under all the beef gravy. For the price I was hoping for more meat I got a few strands of beef. I ordered the grilled oysters. They were good not over cooked. The knob of crusty bread they gave they should have kept.. it was soo hard it was more of Cristini. I did ask for another piece to enjoy the charged 2.50 lol it was soo hard not worth it. The server kept saying their food was big and people shared.. no one I saw sharing. It was not that big. They only had two desserts and neither were very appealing. We left really let down. I will say the staff were so nice and really made took my friends seafood allergy seriously. I wish they had a little fry daddy to do fries for those with allergies.

Yelp
I was in Phoenix for a conference and I asked a local friend, "if you were only going to be in Phoenix for only one night in your life, where would you have dinner?", and her response was one word, "Hush". At first I thought she was telling me to shut up, but I went to Hush's website and booked reservations, which was much easier than some other platforms I've seen on other restaurant websites. So good website/reservation experience. When the Uber dropped us off, I was a little taken aback, because it is in an upscale strip mall, and much smaller than I assumed. Now I know why reservations are required, and why larger groups would've been difficult to accommodate. It is not a big place. The experience from the start was excellent and cozy. The table wasn't ready, so we sat at the bar on the nicest barstools I can remember. Very comfortable. Everyone from hostess to waitresses to bartender to manager was very friendly and professional. Starting cocktails - dirty martini, gimlet - were very well executed. Once seated at our table, we started with the steak fries and the grilled oysters, both excellent. For dinner, we decided we wanted to try the two most popular entrees - Italian Beef and the Duck Fried Rice - so we got a double order of each and extra plates, so everyone got a half order of each. I'm a little embarrassed at how quickly we inhaled them, it was a tad indecent, but they were both so good we couldn't help ourselves. The Italian Beef plate is an homage to the Chicago sandwich, and it is probably the best thing I've eaten this year. The presentation reminds me of something I might get at a Southern diner, very comfort food feel, every component was well executed and the finished combination was perfect. The oxtail gravy was so good, I wish they sold it in jars. I've spent a lot of time (years) in Asia and eaten lots of fried rice in my life, and the Duck Fried Rice did not disappoint. I especially loved how crispy the rice on the bottom was, and the duck confit was well seasoned and very tender. The service was excellent, the staff were attentive and funny. I won't repeat some of the jokes, because I'm sure they get recycled for every new guest, but they were good enough that I'm stealing them! This was a wonderful choice to spend our only free evening in Phoenix and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Hush Public House is a really special place.

Yelp
I was so excited to finally try Hush Public House. I went here for restaurant week. They were not busy as they had just opened, but shortly after there was a nice crowd. Our server was Karina, she was awesome. She provided great service, she answered questions and gave recommendations. I ordered from the restaurant week menu which was their Crudo (app), duck fried rice (entree) and the chocolate bodino (dessert). One thing I can say I appreciate about this establishment is their portion size. Everything I ordered was a nice portion. The Crudo was good, you definitely need to add salt just to enhance the flavors of everything. The duck fried rice was really good, especially with the chili oil and the chocolate bodino was good as well. For the next visit, I'm looking forward to trying their Italian beef entree.

Yelp
Have eaten there multiple times and the food was good. Called and was told there was open seating at bar and they did not take reservations at bar. When we got there they said that they were now saving the seats at the bar for a party that was not there yet and we would have to wait. it seems they should be consistent with their rules otherwise it sends a message that one guest is less important than other guests.

Yelp
A foodie's paradise service is friendly deco is very OK but you come here for the food. I almost felt like I was in West Hollywood. Kudos to this place which they come to the west side.

Yelp
First time dining here. Food and service was on point! Ambiance was nice. I sat at the bar and watched the chef's cook. Appetizer- Grilled Oysters. Did was prepared perfectly and tasted amazing. Entree - Crispy Skin Branzino. Dish was prepared and served by the line chef. Was prepared perfectly. The Kale, white beans, pancetta and onion soubise complemented the crispy delicious Branzino.

Yelp
First time having dinner at Hush Public house. Nice spacious place with great service. The Spicy green beans were a little heavy but they were tasty. The Sonoran Pasta Co Rigatoni was good but a bit dry; not enough Parmesan sauce. The Italian beef had a unique and delicious sauce but a little too expensive for beef on bread with cheese. And for dessert we had the Date cake which was exceptional. Cocktails were awesome! They did mention family style dishes but I disagree.

Yelp
I looked up top restaurants in Phoenix area and Hush was highly recommended! The place is pretty discreet in a shopping center- you wouldn't suspect there is a bustling restaurant inside! We were a party of 6 and we all enjoyed our dishes. Standout for me was the french fries! Yep! They mash the potatoes up and then make them into fries, it is so pillowy and delicious inside because of that!! Still dreaming of them. The crab hush puppies were delish and crispy- a must share with a group. Also, that date cake is to die for. I am not huge into desserts but this was a winner across everyone at the dining table. Don't skimp on getting dessert! Overall, a great place to come if you are in the area and want a more upscale place to dine.

Trinh T.

Yelp
Great service and ambiance, but very overpriced for average salty food. I got the focaccia ($9 for about 3 bites), the lobster mushrooms ($16). Though some bites were perfectly cooked, some can use a few more minutes on the grill. The ricotta was very good, and I wish I had saved some of my focaccia bread to mop up more of the cheese. The salsa Verde in this dish was insignificant, doesn't add or take away from the dish. The main course, Italian beef, braised oxtail... ($40) very long name for an open face sandwich. The broth was VERY SALTY. I thought since the word Italian beef is first in the name, I would actually get some slices of beef, nope, just a couple of sprinkles of shredded meat from the oxtail on top of a thick slice of brioche. With a glass of wine, I spent about $100 for my dinner. I'd spend $100 on a great meal, but this on is far from it.

Yelp
I have loved this place way before Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives (Hush is none of these) featured them on the show. A good friend told me about Hush a few years ago and as a guy who grew up in Skokie, I was all in when I saw their de-constructed Italian Beef. I have to admit, I ordered this at my first several visits and did not explore the other menu items. The giardiniera is the bomb! A couple times my wife and I did not make reservations (they have since expanded since my first visits) and we sat at the bar. If you are a foodie and like to cook, sit at the bar and watch these guys work their magic. It is a show of efficiency and love of presentation. It's also a great way to see what looks good and order from there. Of course, everything looks great. The pasta? Next time I am ordering that! The Steak Frites is great and can be shared as it is a big cut of meat and the frites are awesome. Duck Fried Rice?? DO NOT pass this up and it is also shareable for the table. It is so good, I came in once and just ordered the rice and their BBQ Bourbon and I left a happy man... The service is great and friendly. Chris, one of the chefs, answered all my "What's that?" questions and suggested I order off menu- a combo of the Italian Beef over their frites. WOW! I am forever indebted...

Yelp
We joined a few friends here for dinner not knowing what to expect and was very pleasantly surprised!! The atmosphere is dark, casual with tables and seating at the bar where you can watch the chefs work. It's a neighbourhood gem that the locals are probably trying to keep a secret (as they're not a huge venue). The service was lovely, our service was very helpful in guiding us through some of their favourites. The food was phenomenal- I mean, in my mind I thought- how good can green beans really be?? I was wrong- I mean, I love green beans and will always get them but the way they are prepared here!!! Just bursting with flavours! The cauliflower was the same, the fries!!- im still talking about their fries!! Our table continued with a few mains that Frey loved but I was too stuffed on fries and cauliflower! I did have room for the date cake which was DELICIOUS !! Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Had a delicious dinner at this unassuming spot. Despite all the acclaim (seemed to be consistently recommended when looking for Scottsdale restaurants), we managed to walk in on a Friday night, and there were plenty of open bar seats. We got: Fried cauliflower - So good, love the crunchy texture paired with the curry and the almonds / mint / raisins just round it out perfectly Crab hush puppies - Excellent, crispy exterior with good flavor. Gnocchi - I didn't love the cheese filling but my boyfriend was a fan. The sweet potato purée was nice though. Duck fried rice - Super flavorful rice, rice was quite crispy and the chili sauce adds a bit of spice. Personally I prefer a softer (and less oily) rice, but my boyfriend was a fan. Malfadine with lamb ragu - I liked the pasta texture but the sauce was too spicy for me Date cake - Soft moist date cake with sweet bourbon toffee glaze. The glaze unsurprisingly was too sweet for me, but my boyfriend liked it.

R M.

Yelp
Sit at the bar if you can! It was so cool watching these amazing chefs work in sync and plate these delicious dishes. We had the roasted squash and duck fried rice along with the eggplant dish. Each perfectly plated and delicious!! I was here visiting for a conference and would gladly come back to visit. Sooo good!

Bart J.

Yelp
We really like this place. Well run and great food. Super friendly staff. We sat at the bar and watched the expertise unfold with the chefs. And I thought I was a good cook. Wow!!!

Yelp
Excellent food and service. One of the better places I've tried since living in AZ - chicken liver mousse. Soooo good especially paired with the cherries. I say you should give me 6 pieces of toast next time instead of 4 btw I got charged $5 for another order of toast - beef tartare, I thought this was okay. A tad salty for me probably due to the capers but my friend loved it. - duck fried rice was amazing. Highly recommended. Has a nice spicy kick to it. Normally I hate duck but not this time.
google avatar

J B.

Yelp
Underwhelming. Nice lively atmosphere but the food was not worth the cost. The ahi was extremely salty (returned it). The crab hush puppies were nice and crispy but little to no crab taste. The duck fried rice was flavorful.

Liz G.

Yelp
We ordered the steak Frites and Italian Beef! Everything was very very salty and all reviews we have read since visiting say the same thing! Service was great! Apps were good too but oh boy very disappointing to have the food be so salty! Concern that everyone has the same comments you would think some type Of adjustment would be made! Good luck!

Mr B.

Yelp
I saw hush Public house onCheck please AZ Went there on Friday night, the opening of restaurant week. I ordered the Crab hush puppies and instantly I could tell they we're overcooked. I asked the bartender who is serving me if this is how they normally looked and she said yes and then added, the oil might bad! I sent it back. Replaced it with chicken liver mousse. I was shocked when they delivered me another plate with burnt food! I looked around for Ashton as I thought it was being punk, but he wasn't there and neither was the chef/owner. Obviously they haven't mastered the basics of culinary arts. I left without ordering an entrée Don't look at the five star ratings on yelp look at the lowest ratings and that's where the truth can be found

Yelp
All these years later and HUSH is still one of our favorite places! The flavor combinations, the customer service, the ambiance, it was just as amazing as the last time. I can't recommend HUSH enough. You need to try it!

Yelp
I love this place! Amazing food and great service. I've been here twice and the experience gets better each time. I had some duck fried rice, fries, grilled oysters, the Halibot, and some hush puppies. AMAZING

Yelp
I just learned that this place has been around for three years and I've passed it so many times and not even noticed it, hence it's name. Very hard to miss. But what a gem! Great atmosphere with a sophisticated feel. Small but mighty. Great bar/ drinks. We ordered pretty much all the small plates and ate Tapas style. Everything was delicious and great. I will definitely come back and recommend you try this place.

Yelp
I have been to Hush twice now. Once for a weeknight date night, and again to celebrate my birthday. Both times my fiancé and I sat at the bar right where the chefs cook the food, which is the best seat in the house! The service is top notch - quick and attentive while still allowing us time to just enjoy and chat without too many interruptions. They always have new additions to the menu, which I love! But you gotta try the crispy cauliflower if they still have it. Of course, the Italian beef is a classic go-to for a reason, you need to have it at least once! And their date cake...I could write poetry about it. It's so simple yet sooo delicious. Cocktails are great too! I'm eager to try the cocktail bar next door. I look forward to many more special meals at Hush!
google avatar

Mike F.

Yelp
This is an awesome local joint with really upscale food. We started with the crab hush puppies, then the duck confit fried rice and the Italian beef made with oxtail and Chicago style giardiniera. All three were awesome. Great spot. Our server Jessica was super nice and the service was spot on.
google avatar

Steve E.

Yelp
The other dish is the lamb, both excellent and rich. Mike behind the bar is a drink meister.
google avatar

J A.

Yelp
I think 4.5 is right. The italian beef w oxtail definitely has sandwich vibes but also sort of french onion soup vibes. Was my favorite thing. Really liked the crispy cauliflower along with the lamb neck that came in the eggplant. Thought the louie salad was fine and the duck fried rice had a ton of flavor. Date cake very good way to end the meal. Very good service. Pacing was a bit fast.

Yelp
I tried this place again after a couple of years. Prior to this we could come and gotten a couple of dishes as well as the chicken liver mousse with drunken cherries. My husband thought that was too sweet so we didn't get that this time. I had gotten the shrimp and grits before but didn't know why I didn't like it. This time I got the shrimp and grits again. I found it had too much sauce and not enough grits. The taste overall was quite good in the shrimp are good although may be a touch over cooked. My husband got the halibut with the crab risotto. The crab risotto had too much lemon in it and it was hard for him to even finish because he didn't enjoy the taste. The fish was dry and did not have a size to try to spruce this up. We got the country pate we were which was good although a little too "spicy". Not spicy hot but too much cinnamon/allspice. The kids got the beef tortelloni and we ordered a second of this both because it's a small size and because it was quite delicious. My daughter got the Amatriciana which was also quite good. Service was excellent. Food came promptly Location is also a bit underwhelming as it is in a strip mall. I thought the Decour was OK but I really am used to more upscale. I'd really like to give it 3 1/2 stars but I feel like three stars is too little and four stars is really too much

Yelp
Wow. This place was such a surprise. I had vaguely heard of the restaurant, and one of my girlfriend's mentioned we should try it for a friend's bday. The cocktails were amazing. Good variety and tasted great too! The food ! We tried alot! First of all, it was all so good! My favorites though were: fried cauliflower (we all agreed was to die for), butternut squash risotto, and the crab hush puppies! In terms of dessert- I love a good date cake , and their date cake is good (served with gelato) The restaurant was a little loud... so keep that in mind if you go (which I 100 percent recommend you do! ) I usually take so many great food photos, but we were having such a good time - I kept forgetting!

Yelp
Most likely the best meal I've ever had! Incredible service and casual yet impressive space. Make reservations! Sit at the bar by the chefs - they are amazing the way they work together- like a symphony! Tuesday nights they have a three course special- highly recommend! Hubs got the Italian beef, braised oxtail, smoked provolone, chicago style giardiniera, noble brioche. Oh my - watching it be prepared was so enjoyable and then seeing it put in front of you was a delight! I got the Duck Fried Rice - I'd read so many reviews saying it was the best - yes!!! The date cake was smooth and so dang tasty! 100% would recommend and return. Everyone there worked together as a team - you could see it - from the hostess to the dishwasher- they all contributed to an amazing experience!

Yelp
The food was amazingly prepared! Best dish ever is the Italian beef dish with ox tail. Crispy cauliflower and baby back ribs were excellent too! Chef Alex and his team are so talented and will give you food better than you would ever imagine!!

Yelp
I learned about hush public house through the wild joys Instagram. We ate here for valentines dinner, and our server was kind, and knowledgeable. We started with the crab hush puppies, green beans, and fries with aioli. All three were delicious especially the green beans, although the one critique I would give would be to include more crab in the hush puppies. Moving on to the entrees, I ordered the pork ragu mafaldine, and my husband ordered the creamy pea pasta. My husband ate every bite of his pasta. Mine was surprisingly light for being such a heavy protein, and loaded with shredded parm. We will be coming back to try more items!

Yelp
I was visiting Scottsdale on business and stumbled upon Hush. Their storefront is unassuming, located in a strip mall, and from the outside doesn't look like much. But looks can be deceiving, and once you step inside you see that Hush is the most vibrant, bustling restaurant, with a super cool vibe that's only surpassed by how ridiculously friendly their staff is. The place was packed the night we visited, but we had a reservation and they seated us right away. Our server recommended we try several dishes and eat family style so we could taste a few things, and we followed her advice, ordering the shrimp, the tuna tartare, the rigatoni, and (of course) the crab hush puppies. The food was fan-freaking-tastic...packed with flavor, served at the right temp, and just delicious. They brought us an "extra" cauliflower appetizer, and it was amazing. My whole party om-nommed every single bite we took. I live in Nashville. Please open one there.

Melinda R.

Yelp
4 Stars is a little generous. We had to visit to see what all the Hoopla was about. Beef dish and both desserts, date cake and choc. mousse, were very good. The problem was the renowned Duck Fried Rice dish and the Rigatoni Pasta. The Duck dish was over cooked, rice was actually crunchy, which made it dry, and the egg was also overcooked, and not runny, making it even more dry. Since this is their signature dish, it should always be Perfectly prepared. The Rigatoni, also, was over cooked. It was flat and mushy, and not the hollow tubes it is designed to be, holding the Gravy inside the tube, as well as outside, indicating it was probably pre cooked, as a time saver. Definatly not Al Dente. So all in all, it is definatly not "ALL THAT"

Yelp
We checked this place out for a date night on Saturday and was pleasantly surprised with the experience. By far the best thing on the menu are their house fries with aïoli sauce, which were light, crispy, perfectly seasoned. I am sad that the pasta menu continues to rotate so we weren't able to try the ragu pasta we had previously seen on their Instagram page. I do appreciate how quick and attentive the service was, all the suggestions from the bartender, the overall ambience of the restaurant. They also have a craft cocktail and wine selection. Perfect for first dates or a weekend out if you're looking for something more classy and upscale.

Yelp
I felt this hole in the wall gem had good food and a unique concept, but the decor seemed random and not on par with the elevated menu style or the prices. Will probably try it again.

Yelp
This place is amazing!! 4.5 stars! We had the whipped eggplant with lamb neck and pita! Outstanding! The duck fried rice is a staple there and the crispy skin brazino which was outstanding except the pancetta made the dish a bit too salty. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
Highly recommended place located in a busy shopping center on north Scottsdale. The server noted and recommended family style sharing. Although some of the portions reminded me of tapas. The highlights were the arugula salad with squash and feta cheese, duck fried rice, ricotta gnocchi with sweet potato puree and shavings of parmigiana cheese, crab hush puppies, and the chocolate bodino. We also tried the steak frites and fries with aioli. Although the medium temperature on the steak was perfect, it was way too salty. The same goes for the fries. It was a good place to try.

Yelp
Stopped in for a cocktail tonight and was not disappointed! It's unusual to find a low key not busy spot in Scottsdale to get a drink in a Saturday night but we lucked out with hush! My husband and I sat at the bar, the bartender was super nice and attentive to everyone. It was very dark in here but had a cool ambiance that my husband and I both liked! I got the grand entrance which has vodka, brandy, apple, cinnamon, and pear, not sure what else. It was a little expensive but I think worth it. A few things on the menu looked super delicious too we will have to come back for food! Glad we checked it out!

Yelp
Hush is probably my favorite restaurant in the valley. Their menu rotates every so often but a couple of the mainstays are not to be missed - the chicken liver mousse is rich and delightful, and the duck fried rice is packed full of flavor. I do miss their mussels but hopefully they'll find their way back on the menu someday. I saw they had added scallops recently thad I'm sure are excellent. The wine list is nice and priced well for the area. They also have a strong cocktail list; I usually go for the mezcal tiki style cocktail. Service is always very friendly and personal.

Yelp
Wonderful place with an upscale taproom vibe and a great menu! We had the Whipped Eggplant, the Chicken Liver Mousse, the Pork Chop, the Oxtail Italian Beef, and the Date Cake. The servers were friendly and happy to advise regarding their favorite items. The whipped eggplant was like a creamy baba ghanouj. It came with braised lamb neck, which is almost like the oxtail equivalent of lamb. It was a fantastic and robust flavor combination. The chicken liver mousse did not disappoint with the savory creamy mousse accented by the sweetness of the drunken cherries. A wonderful sweet and savory combination. The pork chop was grilled to juicy perfection and like the chicken liver mousse, was paired with cherries via the cherry bourbon glaze, making it a great sweet and savory dish. The oxtail Italian beef was the highlight of the meal as a perfectly executed Italian beef treat with luscious and fatty oxtail meat. The brioche was like a Texas toast and soaked up all of the juices and flavors from from the oxtail Italian beef. We topped of the meal with the Date Cake, which was moist and sweet with enough crust to give it a wonderful texture. I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Yelp
You just need to come here. That is really all you need to know. Well also ask for the off menu Old Fashioned that is smoked with Little Miss BBQ wood. It will make you smile all night Also, eat the brussels and just get one of everything and split it with everyone at the table. I need to get back soon and try the strawberry ricotta toast!

Yelp
Ummm, this place is INCREDIBLE! Wish I would have come here sooner. We sat at the bar which is a great vibe since the kitchen is right there. Mikey our bartender was wonderful, super attentive and kind. The food was sooooo delish. You HAVE to get the duck fried rice! Tuna tartare was super fresh and the sauce was so yummy. Can't wait to come back and try some other menu items!!

Yelp
Such a quaint, unassuming little place. Sparsely decorated, making it clear the focus is on their incredible food. Everything I tried was delicious. For starters the brussel sprouts and curry cauliflower were flavorful and light, the perfect way to start off a meal. For the main I ordered the duck confit fried rice and it was amazing. It was a bit of spicy which I loved and the duck was so tender and silky. Probably some of the best duck confit I've ever had. Overall it was a great dining experience and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an elevated dining experience in North Scottsdale.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday night and we were pretty lucky to be able to grab a table right away without a reservation as they were busy. This place has been on my list of places to try for quite a while but just never went. It's actually one of our friends' favorite places in the neighborhood. We live close enough that we biked over there. So glad we finally made the effort to come. Gave me vibes of a restaurant in San Francisco or Barcelona. Plates we ordered to share: grilled oysters, hamari crudo, Italian beef, fried cauliflower, and the mussels. My personal favorite were the mussels - they were cooked perfectly and the crusty grilled bread was the perfect pairing to soak up all the goodness of the sauce. The crudo had some sort of chili peanut crunch and I thought it made it unique and gave it a nice kick but it might be too much for some people so they may have to scrape a little off. My husband loved the Italian beef dish and we all thought the grilled oysters were a delish. Looking forward to coming back to enjoy this place more often.

Yelp
Hush, Public House was recommended to us by two different friends. Now having dined here, I can see why! If you look at the menu online, it is definitely different and might make you reconsider but don't worry, you won't be disappointed. I am telling you, everything is delicious (food and drinks)! We were very satisfied with our dinner and with their great service. It's rather small inside, but definitely has a very fun vibe! We will be back again!
