"Hutong is the Shard’s ultra-swish Chinese restaurant, and if we were going to throw down on a pricey dinner with a view, this would be on our list. There’s no sesame chicken on the menu, but instead you’ll get polished version of Northern Chinese dishes like crispy shredded beef and chilli, Hunan-style lobster, and one of the best Peking ducks anywhere in town. Dim sum is also a highlight, and for extra-special occasions, they also have excellent private dining rooms so other diners can be spared your mate Chiara’s f-bomb-laden speech. photo credit: Hutong photo credit: Hutong photo credit: Hutong photo credit: Hutong" - David Paw
"Graduation is a profound milestone. It’s also one of the few occasions where a bunch of relatives, say, divorced parents, are forced to be in the same room together. That’s why you need distractions and Hutong has the kind of views that will stop any “who was the rightful owner of that Blade Runner DVD” conversations in their tracks. This is an ultra-swish Chinese restaurant inside the Shard where an order of the peking duck is essential. The dim sum is also a highlight and if you’re being bankrolled by your parent’s inevitable guilt, know that they also have some pretty spectacular private dining rooms." - rianne shlebak, jake missing, heidi lauth beasley, sinead cranna
"Maximum Capacity: Shanghai 18 (across two tables) / Beijing 26 (across two tables) Minimum Spend: Shanghai from £1000 / Beijing from £1500 Hutong is an ultra-swish Chinese restaurant on the 33rd level of the Shard, with two incredibly extra private dining rooms. Both the Shanghai and Beijing private dining rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows with views of St Paul’s Cathedral, as well as hand-carved wooden doors and a whole lot of red lanterns. Come here when you’re really looking to impress. Or just when you’ve got a spare few grand knocking about your bank account and a penchant for tableside hand-carving of peking duck." - heidi lauth beasley, sinead cranna
"If £10 off is exactly the kind of motivation you needed to visit this excellent Chinese restaurant on the 33rd floor of the Shard, then you’ve got it. Throughout the whole of September you can get £10 off per person from Mondays to Wednesdays - provided the bill comes to at least £30 each." - oliver feldman, rianne shlebak
"Hunan is one of the ultimate IYKYK restaurants in London. A Chinese fine dining spot located on a pretty street in Pimlico with a ‘trust me’ tasting menu that changes every day. Although you don’t have a choice in what you eat, you should definitely trust the chefs. The food comes out in small, immaculate courses, and the prawn toast and crispy duck are both excellent, as is the seafood. It’s a lovely spot for a serene white tablecloth-type lunch or dinner that saves all the surprises for its food." - Heidi Lauth Beasley, Jake Oliver, Rianne Shlebak, Daisy Meager
