Where To Have A Birthday Outside - New York - The Infatuation

"The snow might be melting in NYC, but some of us miss the feeling of being six feet away from a pile of accumulated ice crystals. Thankfully at Hutte, an outdoor restaurant made to feel like an Austrian ski lodge, you can pretend your birthday is a snow day. With carpets, hanging wreaths, and vintage ski photos on wood-paneled walls, Hutte’s patio feels like eating in a winter cottage. And one of the only places in the city where you can get a traditional Austrian breakfast spread and fondue with Swiss bratwurst for dinner or brunch." - Hannah Albertine, Nikko Duren

33 Brunch Spots With Outdoor Heat Lamps - New York - The Infatuation

"With carpets, hanging wreaths, and vintage ski photos on wood-paneled walls, Hutte goes a lot further in embracing the alpine theme than a fake pine tree and faker pair of antlers. That includes what they serve at brunch, like a traditional Austrian breakfast spread, fondue with Swiss bratwurst for dipping, and multiple types of mulled wine." - Matt Tervooren

Best Austrian food & drinks in the city: cheese fondue is superb! The setting makes you feel like you’re truly in an Alpine resort enjoying apres ski in a hut, very authentic and cozy! The service is really nice and friendly: the waiter was thoughtful and brought us some vegan protein options with our veggie fondue and even a complimentary piece of cake with a candle for my husband’s birthday. Highly recommend it!

Google
Such a great spot for a cozy dinner! It’s technically an outdoor spot but it’s covered and has great heaters for the winter. Authentic Austrian food that will make your mouth water! We ordered the bacon wrapped pork loin with mushroom fettuccine, a beef goulash soup appetizer and my husband ordered the veal schnitzel. We finished dinner off with the Red Glühwein warm drink. Delicious! We will definitely return the next time we are in the city.

Google
This is a fun spot for an Oktoberfest get together with 5-6 friends (size of the tables). Very festive vibe (one of our friends is a great singer which made the accordionist and our fellow diners very happy). I recommend the charcuterie platter and the sausage platter. The food is solid if you have a hankering for German specialties. On the downside, it gets very loud and it’s pricey if you’re not a beer drinker (tiny glass of wine is $14).

Google
What an incredible hidden Austrian spot! It's gorgeous inside with really lovely decor and a cherry blossom tree (which I assume is part of the "Blume" theme). The service is really the star of the show here. He was very knowledgeable, spoke some German, helped us order drinks, and took care of the whole back room by himself while still keeping on top of everything. What a fantastic experience! The food was really good, though a bit pricey. Sometimes I wish I lived on the upper east side just so I could come here more often.

Google
Decent but wouldn't go back. They way over packed our table and we had to send a few plates and cups back because they were poorly washed and still had stuff on them. The the food was fairly good but not something that I would miss if I never went back. Worth a try but nothing special for the price. And they told us they were out of every single beer that was on the menu and they didn't have glasses if wine only full bottles.

Elizabeth

Google
Absolutely adorable set up with space heaters in curated back garden. The wait can be very long and they do not take reservations, so plan accordingly. The wait list is digital and convenient for going somewhere nearby. The food was good and very rich. Service was on top of everything if a little brisk. Great overall experience.

Google
Nice atmosphere. The spatzle and cod goulash needed a lot of salt, which was added. The cheese dumpling and schnitzel were good. I would return.

Google
Two thoughts: awesome experience, amazing staff! They were so kind and the food is a must try, we had a goulash appetizer soup, with the Wiener schnitzel and the bacon wrapped pork rib with mushroom fettuccini ❤️ Absolutely will go again

Yelp
Mmmm..... hot Gluhwein on a cold winter day for the win! Just had a terrific dinner at the new Schaller's Hutte! Super cozy spot they made into an Alpine ski lodge for the winter season ( it's usually Blume during the warmer season months ). The decor is terrific and comfy. If there was an actual working fireplace here I would never leave! Working cuckoo clock too. It's on the downstairs patio area. Socially distanced tables, staff with masks on and sanitizing, open fresh air but with so many heating units we were nice and warm with just a t-shirt on. It's a small spot with not a lot of seating but I felt they did a good job with separation. The patio is in between buildings on a lower level so there is fresh air circulating even with a tented roof overhead. We felt pretty safe but for those who are more squeamish about dining out during Covid it might be best if they stay home, or eat at outside street tables in 28° weather. It's your choice. We started with our drinks along with an appetizer of spatzle in cream sauce (YUM), then dove into their butcher burger made with Beyond Meat (really tasty for fake meat) side of roasted Brussels sprouts (also yum), and finished with a dessert of baked apple rings (simple but satisfying). We found the service to be friendly and attentive. They suggest reservations here and there is a 90 minute limit, and the host got us a table as a walk in with no hassles around 5pm when we came by. Was getting more crowded when we left. Oh, and nice clean bathroom. It's kind of pricey overall, but you're also paying for the atmosphere which we enjoyed. I don't mind paying a bit more to support a small local biz. Will definitely go back. Love these kind of places. The fondue that others were having looked wonderful. Must try it next time.

Yelp
This restaurant makes my top 5 list of favorite restaurants in the upper east side! Situated in UES's Germantown, this Austrian restaurant has a hole in the wall vibe but walk down the stairs and you'll be entered into a beautiful garden eating area. It's perfect for date night or a hang with friends - it is a bit small so I won't recommend more than 4-5 people per table. I may be late in the game but I discovered Hugo wine which is deliciously sweet and refreshing! We ordered a charcuterie to start with 2 meats and 2 cheeses with helpful recommendation from our waitress. It was served with warm toasts and everything complimented beautifully. We shared the chicken sausage pesto pasta and a side of charred broccoli. We finished with the best tiramisu dessert I've had - it was so moist and flavorful. You bet I'll be back and you should come try!

Yelp
Such an amazing hidden gem (and when I say hidden, I mean I wasn't even sure if it was open when I first walked up). You have to go through the door which is left of a small Blume sign. Once you find your way in to their hidden garden, it's well worth the hunt! Very unique and flavorful wine from all over (Germany, Austria etc.), and although we only came for the wine, we ended up also getting a charcuterie board with lots of fine meats and cheese, as well as their side of the cheesy potatoes with ham YUM! What really made our experience was the amazing waitress we had. I sadly didn't get her name but she was working a Wednesday night at opening. She was so sweet and patient with us as we asked a ton of questions about the menu. We ended the night with the chocolate fondue and a piece of cake. Everything was excellent. Will definitely be making this place a regular stop!

Yelp
A secret restaurant located in the back of Schaller Stube. There is a very small dining area that is in a backyard with a canopy above. I went for brunch, but It would be a very cute date place at night. The brunch menu is limited but the server told us there were a number of dinner items available including the veal schnitzel. I had that and it was right on target. Crisp veal, potatoes was mustardy and just the right amount of mashedness, and cucumbers that were not too pickled. Lingonberry sauce was a nice touch. It was a little pricey , $30 plus tax and tip.

Yelp
We caught the tail end of Hutte (it's closed next week for its seasonal transformation into Blume). Some high points for my family were the hangar steak salad and beet salad. The wine list is also excellent. Some pain points were the inflated prices overall (it's not fine dining, but priced as if it was), lack of vegetarian entrees (just a faux meat burger...), and general crowdedness. It claims to be outdoor dining, but it's basically fully enclosed so for pandemic purposes consider the patio indoors. The tables are also fairly close together. I definitely would not feel comfortable dining here if I wasn't fully vaccinated.

Yelp
Such a cozy restaurant! The restaurant was able to accomdoate ~10ish people per our reservation. A heads up - this place feels like a speakeasy in the sense that it has a secret entrance and feels impossible to find. The actual restaurant is kept in a German meat butcher shop, behind what looks like a giant metal walk-in refrigerator door. As you walk downstairs towards their back alley, there it is! The decor gave off ski/snowboard lodge vibes, which brought a lot of nostalgia! The decor also included: faux mounted animal heads, deer skull, and pine cones. I was really pleased with all their effort in the decor because we opted for outdoor dining! Now as for the food.... our table shared the cheese fondue dish which included an assortment of stuff to dip in the cheese. My favorite was the sourdough bread. It just complements the cheese so well! For my main course, I ordered the seared duck breast. I don't normally enjoy duck because it tastes very "dark." But their fish meal wasnt available for the day, so I decided to try the duck.... and I have no regrets. The duck really was amazing. It was soft, tender, and almost melts in your mouth. This dish has changed my opinion on duck and I would return for this dish alone. I can't stop thinking about the duck from here!

Yelp
super cute date spot! I loved the ambiance and the vibe, but the only reason I gave 3 stars is because of the extremely expensive prices and average service. One cheese plate and one glass of wine came up to $50, which was pretty steep, and the servers were rather snobbish. It may be worth a one time visit, specially since their outdoor seating is one of the best in the city (cute and warm)! -Navya J @nyconthetable

Yelp
A New Yorker found a cool, rather secretive place on 2nd Avenue on the UES that rather blew me away. It hit all my marks. So, 5 Stars. The Food was Fantastic. Atmosphere. Another 5.. All the stuff that evokes Austria. I found it here. Very personal service, and just right. Check it out. Reservation recommended.

Yelp
What a cute hidden little treat! I felt like entering a secret garden, it's a small area but perfect for a romantic date night! Highlights were the burrata appetizer, it was very different as there were nuts in it I think cashews but it had a peanut butter consistency, never had that with burrata before but it was delicious! Veal schnitzel too I had to try cause it's a German place but that was interesting with the sweet jam on the side. I really enjoy trying different cuisines!

Yelp
This place has been closed over a year I wish they would update the entry so it doesn't keep popping up

Yelp
I came here to dine with friends at Hütte (Blume was converted into a little Alpine restaurant). You go through a little counter shop to a black door on the right and go down some steep stairs and you'll be at their patio which is designed like a ski lodge. There isn't a place to make reservations. You walk up and put your name down. I believe our wait was about 20 minutes. We all ordered burgers - butcher burgers and beyond burger for my vegetarian friend. They don't ask you how you want it because there's only one way to have it and that's medium rare. And let me tell you, this is one of the best burgers I've had. I still dream about it sometimes. Washed it back with a couple glasses of pinot noir and I was set for the evening. While the atmosphere is very lovely, I did feel like the tables were a little close together, given the situation we're in. Nevertheless, I loved coming here and hope this will stick around post-COVID!

Yelp
What a patio! It's a beautiful outdoor space of pink/gold tables/chairs surrounded by leafy green plants. Everyone around us seemed to be ordering bottles of rose but we decided to be basic and only order the frozen drinks. Both the frose and the frozen Prosecco were amazing. The frose was sweet and summery. The frozen Prosecco was light, less sweet, and with a noticeable note of elderflower. The charcuterie meat and cheese boards were beautiful, but we decided to double down on meat and order the open faced Speck sandwich. It's beautifully arranged with the salty speck arranged over slices of Gruyere and a flattened, toasted baguette. The combination is delicious and each bite has great proportions of each item. We can't wait to come back! It seems like the patio fills up quickly during evening hours, so make sure to come early.

Yelp
Service, Ambiance and Food were all excellent. Can't wait to go back and see it as Blume for Spring. Good portions of food for the price. Our server Mohammed was personable and attentive. Highly recommend for a dinner with friends or a date. It's a unique gem on the UES.

Yelp
Went to Hütte after seeing a TikTok (of course) and it was even cuter in person!!!! I want to emphasize you are coming for the atmosphere not the food! I would come here again for the ambiance but the food is really nothing special (I'd rate the food alone 3/5). We ordered the fondue which seemed very popular, the Brussels sprouts, mulled wine, creamy mushroom soup, Cream brûlée, and baked apple rings. Overall it was very filling and MORE than enough food! Food was average, the wine and red mulled was was yummy and not overly spiced, and the desserts were not that good. Do yourself a favor and don't order the Brussels sprouts LOL it was very disappointing. The fondue was alright! The cheese was not as flavorful as I would've like but still good. It came with a great spread of different sausages and veggies though, we didn't even finish it all! The veggies were yummy and I'm not an expert of sausages but they were good to me... very sausage-y! The mushroom soup was actually quite yummy - probably my favorite thing out of everything ordered. Both desserts were... alright. The creme brûlée left much to be desired and the baked apple rings were just average. We didn't have a wait at all when we went but there are only like 9 tables I think so I could see a wait happening. If you go - set your expectations for the immaculate vibes not the food!

Yelp
I love this place !! Its a secret gem that is becoming not to secret anymore. It's located in the backyard of a Stube Sausage Bar that I have been a loyal customer for quite sometime now. My husband and I enjoyed the charcuterie and cheese board as well as Brussels spouts , and the double smoked bacon . We were very pleased with everything . We enjoyed a bottle of wine for $40 , for New York City this was a steal !! The staff is friendly and the food is delightful .

Yelp
Honestly, this is one of my favorite upper east side spots. It's extremely intimate and cute. The walls are adorned with flowers and choice paintings and photographs. The service is always excellent and so is the food. It's pricey but not outside the realm of typical for the neighborhood.

Yelp
I've wanted to come to Hütte for a while now, having seen it on social media and through word of mouth. I decided pretty last minute one night that I wanted to try to get a table, and Gulsum, who was so friendly both on the phone and in person, was able to squeeze me and my roommate in. We were not disappointed. The atmosphere is so cozy and we felt like we were actually in a tent in the Alps. Our waiter, Mo was very attentive and friendly. We had the käsespätzle by Gulsum's recommendation and the Venison Goulash. Superb. I can't wait to come back soon to try more of the menu, especially the fondue--it all looks delicious.

Yelp
This is a review of Hutte I wanted to love this place. It is absolutely gorgeous and has a cool speakeasy entrance. It also has great mulled wine. But that's where it ends. Everything about this place is great except the service. I know we're in covid times, but this is the worst service I've ever experienced. I've been a server and I wouldn't dare say the things these servers had said to me. I have been here twice. On 11/13 and 11/27. On 11/13 I came here with two friends. Our servers were overly attentive, including one who said he hated NYC and was ready to live to Miami. Fine, I totally get it. But then we planned to pay the check on card, and tip in cash. As one of our party selected 'no tip' on the screen, the server explicitly said to us, "tip isn't included." Ok fine. We still paid tip in cash and we decided to give this place another try. On 11/27, I decided to bring two of my friends here for my bday. We have a server who asks midway, "are you going to order or not?" We had ordered a cheese plate and over 5 drinks between all of us ($120) but apparently that wasn't enough. So I said no. And he says, "well, if you aren't going to order anything else we have other parties who will be here soon and you will have to leave" so I said fine, and we left. I was super embarrassed to have brought my friends here for my birthday. Again, I really wish I could love this place, but it seems to be all frills and 0 thrills. Mulled wine is great, but not worth the service.

Danielle A.

Yelp
Beautiful little speak easy with an amazing and super friendly staff! Food and drinks were were so good. Our waiter was so attentive and nice. I will definitely be coming back here!
google avatar

Dino A.

Yelp
This is my favorite outdoor seating on the UES. It has similar vibes to Serra by Birreria but much cozier and reasonably price. I came here for dinner, ordered the cheese plate for an appetizer and the salmon entree. The cheese board was great to share with friends and came with warm bread. The salmon was cooked to perfection and brussel sprouts were so crispy. I wanted to come back for lunch and found a reservation on Open Table. I ordered the Belgian waffle, which was warm and served with fresh fruit. The best thing is that all tables have heaters and the restaurant feels so comfortable. Definitely come here again and again!
google avatar

Heather R.

Yelp
I can't say enough about this addition to the neighborhood! I've always loved this place, but this makes you feel so Cozy. Like in Austria. Try the fondue! I'm partial to anything cheese, but live their menu.
google avatar

Sanskriti V.

Yelp
The cutest wine garden. Ambience is just adorable and was perfect for a date with my husband. The cheese plate was also extremely fresh with a great assortment of snacks.
google avatar

Yelp
Great ambiance with good food. Hidden heated backyard tented patio with a speakeasy entrance. Recommend the Cheese board and Venison Goulash.
google avatar

Kaitlyn M.

Yelp
Hidden, cute back patio on 2nd Ave. Good food and service! Got the burrata and Reuben, pickles with the sandwich were great! Had the orange wine, Riesling, and sour -- all solid choices
google avatar

Kelly L.

Yelp
Charming, come here for the cozy atmosphere in a safe outdoor setting during the pandemic. It is heated but people were crowded towards the back where it was warmer so we sat closer to the open air where it was of course colder. Brunch menu is not large but the options are decent. What surprised me was that in the freezing weather the only warm beverage option was mulled wine - nothing for kids, pregnant people, etc. I sent a suggestion to add an option, e.g., a Viennese hot chocolate would be great with the Austrian theme. I see now that there is espresso on the menu but the waitress didn't even offer that, when I asked her about hot beverages she said "only mulled wine", and for non-alcoholic she said "only soda" (although when I pressed further I got orange juice) so not sure what is happening there.
google avatar

Gulsum K.

Yelp
Everything is great! Delicious food and friendly staff! And great wine selection. I recommend here to everyone who wants to feel like they are in Alps!
google avatar

Christina S.

Yelp
Tiny hidden gem in the city - had to stop in to try their froze (frozen rose) it was so good I had two! Their charcuterie board was a great addition to our drinks. Fun atmosphere and can't wait to come back!

Cate G.

Yelp
This restaurant was superb from start to finish. We ordered the seared salmon with brussel sprouts and the steak entree. They were both INCREDIBLE - cooked perfectly and presented so beautifully. The dessert was the best we've ever had - the chocolate soufflé is a MUST! As a bonus, our waiter was the most sincere, funny, kind man any of us gals have interacted with since moving to the city! We need more humans like you! We will surely be back, sooner rather than later.
google avatar

Paige C.

Yelp
I love the ambiance here whether it's set up for summer or winter. The fondue was even better than I expected and it's definitely plenty of food for two people to share!
google avatar

Aubrey S.

Yelp
Hütte was the perfect date night spot! What a lovely atmosphere, and great service! The only reason why I'd give it 4 stars and not 5 is because I think they could elevate their food a bit more. The salmon tartar was really refreshing, but instead of the crackers they served with it, I think an herb crostini would have suited it better. The beef goulash had all the right flavors, and the meat was delectable and tender, but it was intense! I asked for a side of sour cream to make it a tad more balanced. It was potent, and a bit acidic. With some sour cream though? It was wonderful. No critique on the steak. That was to DIE FOR!! It tasted like they had sous vide it in a brine, and then reversed seared it. It was melt in your mouth. Simply delicious. The potato salad was good! It needed a bit somethin' somethin' though. These are just my preferences, however. The food was great overall, and I'm so incredibly excited to go back and try other things on the menu. Every time something new was brought out from the kitchen, my boyfriend and I practically drooled. The smells were tantalizing!!! Great spot. Great food. Great service. I would completely recommend.
google avatar

Kathryn G.

Yelp
We came to New York to visit family and friends and had dinner this past Saturday night at your restaurant. The service was spectacular, the food was amazing, I love the intimacy of the restaurant, the wine was incredible that was recommended by the owner and the server. I would definitely make this a stop for you when you are in the city.
google avatar

Ada L.

Yelp
decor is adorable. CharmING and fun. Super cute. service was awful. food was decent. Waiter and waitress made it clear that they didn't want to work there or service people. They ruined our experience. Don't go. bad service. We were there on a Thursday - 2/18. Manager should fix this.

Elana Z.

Yelp
This is a review of Hutte. I came here when it was Blume in the summer and had an amazing time, great food and great service. I recently came back for Hutte and had the opposite experience, the glass of wine I ordered was under a quarter of the glass, for $14 a terrible pour. They had changed the menu and had no meat and cheese platter, the options are either meat OR cheese and for $28 each. The waiter rushed us to order entrees even though the restaurant wasn't very busy. I hope they can make the proper changes as the space is amazing and the food is very good!

Gabe C.

Yelp
NO SOCIAL DISTANCING! crowded at least the food was good
google avatar

Hilary T.

Yelp
The drinks & atmosphere were nice but the staff were horrible! They were rude from beginning to end. As soon as we sat down, they told us we only had 90 minutes and then after 30, tried to kick us out for not ordering more. Really? I wouldn't go back!

Sara I.

Yelp
Do not go if you have an issue with long, steep dark stairs. This is the only way to get to the restaurant and I found it to be scary. I won't go back because of it.

Amanda D.

Yelp
Really cool atmosphere, actually freezing. We were so cold that we ate with winter coats on. The heaters really couldn't keep up with it being 19 degrees outside. We ordered the cheese fondue. It came with a huge selection of veggies, pears, and sausages, also bread. It was pretty good but the little candle was not keeping it warm enough. It starting congealing after we had it awhile and not good anymore. We were so cold that we left before dessert and rushed to pay the check. After leaving we realized that we were charged $35 for my 7 year old to share the fondue when she had brought her own sandwich. (I told them this upon arrival.) So we basically spent $180 for 3 fondues, two beers and my daughter to eat a sandwich. Not impressed.

Tracy F.

Yelp
What an incredible evening. The speakeasy entry through Schaller's Stube to this gem of a restaurant is not to be missed. The atmosphere sparkled, the service both friendly and knowledgeable and the food and wine top notch. Be sure to try the burrata, heirloom tomatoes, hanger steak and halibut , all deliciously prepared and presented. The wines were unique and paired to perfection by the manager, Benjamin, who was a delight and made our evening one to remember. Will be sure to return on our next trip to New York!

Yelp
This brand new UES spot is SO NICE!! It feels like a secret little oasis that only locals know about. The ambiance is a perfect date night spot or place to grab some wine with the girls. I've been living on the UES for 3 years and am so happy this place just opened! It's a great addition to what the UES has to offer and it's the only bar of its kind. Not to mention, my boyfriend brought his dog and the waiter was so nice and brought him water and bolognese (it is attached to a butcher shop after all!) I'll definitely be coming back :)

Doris S.

Yelp
i went to Hutte with two friends today for a late lunch. The food was good but over priced. The Kaiserschmarrn dessert was especially good and authentic. Ditto the KaseSpatzle. Unfortunately, service was not great. Getting water glasses in the first place took repeated requests as did getting them refilled. Had to search for staff to order dessert as well. When I asked if one of the brats on the sausage platter could be replaced with either a vegetarian one or a beef one I was abruptly told NO even though both are for sale upstairs at the Stube. The place itself is cramped and can be very noisy. You may find yourself sharing a table with strangers at close proximity. I realize this is supposed to be part of the experience but still. Even though the Hutte is a canopied "outdoor" space with fans for ventilation, I think proof of vaccination should have been required.
google avatar

Niha K.

Yelp
This place is so cute! Came here with a group of friends on a Friday night and luckily got a table for 5 with no wait. Food is required and if you have more than 2 people than you have to order multiple dishes. Cheese plate was okay, but overpriced. Brussels sprouts were good. We all tried a few diff drinks and had a good time. Rose was typical, nothing special. Orange wine was good. One friend tried the frozen drinks and I advise you to steer clear. It was literally frozen and she could not get much out of the straw even 10 min after getting the drink cause it just had a weird frozen consistency. We told our waiter that it was too frozen and that she wasn't even able to drink it, to which he responded "oh, well, just let it sit for a while and then drink it" which was kind of annoying.
google avatar

Jasper E.

Yelp
Amazing find. Very friendly staff in a cozy back patio with great ambiance for a date. Classic Austrian wines and reasonable prices. Definitely will go back.

Coco B.

Yelp
Very cozy indoor/outdoor spot. Quality meat and bread for the fondue pot.
google avatar

Sara J.

Yelp
Such a great neighborhood spot! Get the Gluhwein while it is still cold enough to drink it, but their wine by the glass list is really unique and impressive. The service is wonderful. Really friendly, knowledgeable servers that are attentive but do not rush you! They let you try any wine to taste and clearly care about good service and a good experience. The food is fabulous--the soup is a huge portion and tasted super fresh and the sides are not to be missed. There is no place even remotely like this on the UES, and when it is Blume in the summer it is the perfect backyard patio escape. I am so glad this is right down the street from me!
google avatar

Tiffany W.

Yelp
gorgeous apres-ski type setup with abundant heat lamps. came for drinks only, but looks like most people ordered fondue, which has a very large assortment of food. first time having white gluhwein, which was delicious - like a less sweet mulled cider. drinks are all wine/beer, no liquor.

Ike S.

Yelp
Service (waiter) was great but owner/manager was blatantly RUDE. Food was bland. Would not recommend this place unless you enjoy being mistreated buy management.
google avatar

Jessica P.

Yelp
Incredible that Blume was able to open during a time when most restaurants are struggling to survive. The space is a bit hidden, right next to Schaller's Stube Sausage Bar. I met a girlfriend here for dinner and we had a wonderful evening. The staff was very welcoming, and the restaurant is also dog friendly, which made for an easy decision when looking for a local restaurant. Jeremy greeted us and, while we waited for a table, he gave us some great suggestions on the wines available. The food was fantastic and we enjoyed the beautiful weather from the outdoor space. Looking forward to seeing the new concept!

Marney G.

Yelp
The hostesses were beyond rude. The service was awful. Trying to support local businesses during this time but this place was shameful. Would never go back.

Ms. D.

Yelp
This restaurant is terrible for the following numerous reasons. Although cute ski Europoean decor, it is INSIDE not outside dining. I don't know how NYC allows this; as in most NYC restaurants the seats are right on top of each other. Second, food is mediocre at best and pricey for portion size. Third, our table was told we HAD to order by the bottle, meanwhile other tables (those with patrons up to 6) were able to order by the glass, seems inequitable and illegal. Fourth, I was at a table with my boyfriend and we saw a woman fall to the floor as her chair broke. We felt terrible for her. No one from the wait staff asked how she was or helped her up. It was unclear if she hit her head as she came close to the table next to her. Fifth, moments later the owner or manager AND who was holding a child came over yelled and cursed at her and the people she was with, calling them rude and telling the others they were 'banned' from his restaurant and threatened them if they ever tried to come again. We could not help yet to hear the whole conversation - again, small enclosed restaurant. Hard to image the owner acting that way. They did nothing wrong, In fact HE is the one who should apologize. I hope she isn't hurt.
