Yelp
I decided a few months ago that I needed a little getaway. A staycation as the people call it. Busy with all things that come along with everyday life (including the madness that was 2020) and figured what better time that having a little overnight at a hotel to celebrate Mother's Day and just have a quiet night away from home while my husband held down the homefront.
I checked at least 10 hotels in the midtown Atlanta area and Vinings area and while the hotels all had COVID protocols laid out on their website, I was less than pleased with all the fees that came along with looking at a room. I decided to come to Yelp and do a bit more searching and stumbled upon this location. I read a lot of the reviews, looked at the pics, and once I went to the actual Hyatt website to look at rates, I decided this would be the best place for an overnight stay. Booking was super easy and I downloaded the app where I was able to check-in prior to my stay, receive my room information, and make any special requests.
I was surprised that while there is soooo much hustle and bustle in the Perimeter Mall area that this hotel was quietly tucked away from the other side of all that. I absolutely loved that it was tucked away and because I'm familiar with the area it did not bother me that I would need to leave the property to get food or any other necessities. So if you're looking to be in the midst of the action, you might not want to stay here but if you're just wanting a quiet area, this might be the right place.
Upon arriving at the hotel, I did self-park ($14 per night) and I must say be careful as the lot isn't the biggest and people just swerve out of spots and around corners without paying attention. From the parking lot to the lobby there was a ton of signage regarding masks being required and there were multiple hand sanitizers all around. Once I made it to the lobby, I could already tell that I would enjoy my time there. The decor was very modern and nice and there weren't a ton of people around which made me feel safe considering I've been in the house for a long time since COVID began. The young man who helped me at the front desk was so friendly and saw that I checked in on the app and I had my room key in less than 5 minutes.
Once I got to the room, and was able to get my mask off, I was not only whisked into relaxation because of the lavender scent but also from the warm and inviting decor of the room. The room, bathroom, and closet were all a great size and I even had a huge window where I was able to see a wedding taking place at the Villa Christina. I did bring my own Clorox wipes to wipe things down but from what I could tell, things were clean and the remote was placed in a bag (I guess to let me know it was sanitized). The bed was a little to firm for my
liking but I still had a good nights rest. Anyway, I enjoyed my stay and loved that it was overall quiet. Like I didn't just hear people all hours of the night outside my room and oh yeah, I loved that there were outlets on the side of the nightstands made it super convenient to charge my phone and there were lights at the bottom of the bed that turned on in the dark to guide your way.
Checking out was super easy and the young lady that helped me again saw that I had checked out on the app and I returned my key and was able to be on my way in again, less than 5 minutes.
Super long review I know but this is definitely a place I'd come back to again if I needed a quick getaway!
