"A self-proclaimed experimental ice cream shop, Ice & Vice makes its flavors with ingredients like chili lime plantain chips and lemon charcoal. Thankfully, this LES spot knows how to make complicated things actually taste good. Our recommendation? Go with your gut. Like most major TV networks today, this ice cream shop knows how to cater to several different niche audiences at the same time. But just in case you’re curious, the last thing we tried here was the “Opium Den,” which is full of toasted poppy seeds and lemon bread croutons." - Nikko Duren

Oh man I wish I hadn’t discovered how yum this ice cream is. I came in after a really long day of apartment hunting and thought to myself “do I wanna spend my calories on alcohol or ice cream?” Next thing I know I’m walking out the door with a delicious cup of ice cream. No regrets. If you like fancy ice cream and unique flavors, this place is for you. I can’t even remember what all was in the flavor I got I just know it was simply delicious. I’ll be back here! It was something chocolatey. :)

We saw this on Somebody Feed Phil and knew we needed to try it. Every flavor they have is incredibly unique which is right up my alley. They let you try unlimited samples and every one I tried was delicious (I probably tried 8). We ended up getting Opium Den, Milk and Honey, and American Beauty. We loved them all. I couldn't pick a favorite. The poppy/sesame seeds in Opium Den were great. The goat cheese in milk and honey was my favorite. I loved the rose jam in the American Beauty. They also have unique cones. I forget exactly what ours was, but I think it was some kind of blue corn. If you like ice cream, you need to check this place out.

Victoria - you made our night! Thanks for treating us like old friends. The sorbet on the menu is vegan friendly and tasted just like cotton candy.. perfect tease for springtime. The shop is in a part of the neighborhood that doesn’t get much foot traffic, but is worth the trip. Next to the shop is a gorgeous historic apartment building called the Mayflower, and a lot of the architectural details can also be seen at Ice & Vice (check out the ceiling).

This location took a bit of navigating to find but was more than worth it. Came across it while watching a Netflix original series, Somebody Feed Phil. This shop has some of the most unique flavors I have ever seen or tasted. The willingness to let customers sample new and creative flavors really enhances the experiences. Each flavor takes you on a culinary journey as you try to figure out just how all the ingredients (which are listed) combine for a delicious creation. My personal favorites were “9 AM” and “Milk and Honey”. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to some high quality ice cream.

These flavors are fantastic! If you have a sugar craving (or addiction 😋) this place should be a no brainer. Surprised it wasn't crowded at all. Sad that they no longer serve the peanut butter pie slice at no fault of their own, but still worth going to!

Very interesting ice cream selections. The flavors are extremely subtle. The texture are super creamy and thick. I got the tea dance and opium dem. I really enjoyed the tea dance, it has a strong tea flavor. The opium den is intriguing - the poppy seeds definitely added to the texture. It does not have one overwhelming taste but elements rather blend in quite sophisticatedly. I like that their ice cream are not artificially sweet. Definitely very fine and special ice cream. It is the most unique shop in manhattan i’ve been.

I've never been to any craft ice cream shop that were better than Ice & Vice. Their flavors will blow your mind. If it's your first time, just tell the servers your favorite flavors and they'll have you a magic.

Ice & Vice is a nice ice cream place in LES but it's $$$. This ice cream in the picture cost me $8.25 : 2 scoops are $6.50 but what they didn't tell me is that they charge extra for a "special cone." The flavors are unique though, but $8 for an ice cream cone 🙅
