"Ida Claire is a Southern restaurant where everything from pimento cheese to fried chicken graces the menu. The Jacksonville location, one of three in the country, partners with local farmers and purveyors to bring vegetables and seafood to the restaurant. This is most evident in the Mayport Seafood Dip, which combines Mayport shrimp and crawfish with cheese, garlic, and shallots into a creamy dip that’s ideal for sharing. What makes this spot perfect for a group night out, besides the Southern-style plates, is the silver airstream parked just outside the main entrance to the restaurant that groups of 15 people or less can rent for parties or a friend's night out." - Megan duBois

"Ida Claire offers plenty of Southern hospitality, biscuits, and cocktails to go around. The eclectic restaurant is known for its sharable sticky toffee buns and crawfish and corn beignets. When it’s time for entrees the Nashville hot chicken is always a win and it's served with a creamy pimento cheese that gets slightly melted under the chicken. For a change in the traditional brunch drink consider ordering a man mosa, which combines bourbon, honey, lemon, orange, and wheat beer into a light and refreshing drink that will please almost everyone at the table." - Megan duBois

This is a cute little diner at the town center. Their service is great, fast service and wait time is outstanding. I ordered the shrimp and grits and they are amazing! I was impressed. I got a side of eggs and chicken sausage. The chicken sausage had that rancid scent, took 2 bites and knew it was bad. I had them take it back- no big deal. My friend got the chicken and waffles and wasn’t too bad except the chicken was dry. Our server was attentive and checked on us a couple of times to see if we were ok. My experience was okay- not that I look forward to visiting again. Food is a bit pricey.

Food was awesome and tasted like it was made from scratch. My bloody Mary was served with a small appetizer, and tasted delicious. My husband tried one of theirs pitcher drinks and said that there was too much sweet mix in it vs alcohol content. Service was excellent, atmosphere was great and whole place felt welcoming.

The food is amazing here. We started off with the biscuits, which came with a smoky bacon gravy, honey butter and pineapple/strawberry jam. Well worth it. Then we had the smoked pork chop which came with a medley of sweet potatoes, kale and peppers. The other entree was Nashville hot chicken tenders on pimento cheese toast served with pickles. We also tried the lobster mac and cheese. Everything was perfect. Service by Tyler H was incredible. He is extremely knowledgeable with every aspect of the menu and how items are cooked. He gave excellent recommendations. The atmosphere is wonderful. We will definitely be back soon.

Google
Delicious food and great atmosphere. We tried the fried green tomatoes and they were probably the best I’ve had. We also tried the hot honey chicken sliders which were equally delicious. My husband got the shrimp and grits, they were hot fresh and tasty. I ordered the chicken blt with had a sweet yummy jelly on it! We were very pleased with everything. I hope I can go back to try the dessert, but I was just too full

Google
We enjoyed the breakfast at Ida Claire. Cute vibe with all of the plates on the wall in the dining area and nice sized bar. I'm usually not a fan of biscuits as the base of my eggs benedict, but it was delicious with the fried green tomatoes. My husband really liked the biscuits and gravy... especially the bacon gravy and the grits were tasty too! We'll definitely come back to try other menu items.

Google
Service was amazing. Savannah was friendly and continued to check in to make sure our meal was wonderful. Food came out all together and portions are quite large! Delicious. Chicken was cooked perfectly. The Mac and cheese was awesome, and the fried green tomatoes are a must! Everything was very good. From the sweet tea to the entrees to the dessert, 5 stars. Ambiance and decor is great. Wonderful location and surroundings. Love the theme and style.

Google
Great service from super friendly wait staff. They offer movie night on Thursdays. We ordered the honey chicken slider appetizer,so good. I ordered the shrimp& asiago grits, was the best shrimp&grits I have ever had. My husband got their ribs,I tasted a piece of one and they are so flavorful. Cant forget the awesome bisquits with choice of 3 toppings.(Butter, marmalade, bacon cream sauce) Definitely recommend this place.

Google
The restaurant was very clean and the hostess was very friendly. Our server was very helpful in helping us to make selections on what to order. I had the ribs and my wife had the Nashville Hot chicken tenders. Both dishes tasted delicious. My wife really loved the pimento cheese on the toast. My wood grill ribs were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. They were cooked to perfection and so tender they were falling off the bone. Also I love bar-b-q sauce. And I definitely don't want to leave out the cornbread muffin with butter. Oh my god it was melt in your mouth delicious. Like Mama use to cook. I also ordered a piece of Bourbon pecan pie, now it was a huge piece and it has the bourbon flavor but I belive I like the southern pecan better but it was good and definitely worth the money. So I left with a smile ☺ on my face. Great Food, Great Service!!! 👏🏾

Yelp
Visiting from Honolulu, I Do Declare that this is the best Breakfast/ Brunch hands down in this area. Everything we ordered we loved! Jist one minor detail...the waffles could be a bit crispier, but other than that, we had not complaints! Loved the scratch bisquits! Yes! This is the place for breakfast or brumch. Service: Outstanding! we had a friendly awesome she server. Ambience is like a cozy home feel.

Yelp
Stopped by here on a Monday afternoon, what a cool looking place! The theme is library? IDK. The menus are bound by book covers and there are books and antiquities everywhere. They had some good music going. Ill take a few pictures next time, it's a very cool restaurant, lot of attention to detail. So, this restaurant is a scratch kitchen. Everything is made fresh when you order it. The bar makes excellent drinks as well. Again, the attention to detail is awesome. My wife and I ordered a few things. Fried Green Tomatoes: 10/10 the sauce they give you with it was off the charts! Nashville Hot Chicken: 10/10 They know what they are doing with the chicken Redfish: 8/10 It was delicious Red beans and Rice: 5/10 Too acidic, I think it had a vinegar base... idk wasn't my favorite Overall, excited to return. I wanna check out the weekend brunch.

Renee D.

Yelp
My husband and I came for happy hour. They have a selection of drinks and appetizers on the happy hour menu. This restaurant is made to order aka scratch. Our waitress Morgan was very knowledgeable of the menu and gave amazing customer service. Hot Chicken - 10/10 Super tender. Came with Pickles and Pickled Red Onion and Pimento Cheese. Fried Green Tomatoes - 10/10 Lightly breaded which I loved. Came with Pistou Aioli Ribs - 8/10 They were good but I like my ribs to fall off the bone. The cornbread that came with it was everything 1000/10 Red Beans & Rice - 4/10 The vinegar was really strong and I felt overpowered the side. Redfish - 8/10 The white wine cream sauce was really good Frose - 6/10 Alittle too sweet for my liking.

Yelp
Came here with my long time friends because it was highly recommended by a local --- it did not disapppoint. Food was flavorful and servings were enough. It has a cute vibe to it, it even has a trailer outside where you can sit while dining. Service was phenomenal. Attended to right away, asked for all time faves and everything was superb!

Terri M.

Yelp
Found this spot open when I was starving and it did not disappoint! The staff sat us right away and the music was some nice r&b. This is a southern comfort food place and I seriously think the flavors in this place was amazing! The ding dong cake is delish!! The steak noodles salad was a cold salad and a nice tinge of spicy to set your tastebuds to party! I really did enjoy myself here! It would be my regular spot if I lived in Jacksonville!

Yelp
Ida Claire is one of my favorite go to brunch. Located at town center and plenty of parking spots. Been here 4 times and every time I go here we always have the best time! From the host to the servers they are all amazing and super friendly. Food is really good! Lots of options to everyone! My favorite here is the shrimp and grits, very tasty and the grits are just cooked perfect all the time! My other favorite thing to order here is the French toast and their biscuits! The biscuits is made fresh everyday and the biscuits just melts in your mouth. Ida Claire is such a unique place and it's sad that March of 2024 there will be no longer Ida Claire. But I'm glad that I got the chance to share this wonderful place with my family and friends.

Yelp
"Whooo man, that was salty" was the comment from everyone at the table. We came in on a Thursday night right as they were starting a movie which was pretty cool. Although it was on a little pull out screen with a bad speaker but hey we appreciated the effort. The service was excellent and the waitress obviously knew the menu very well. The food was, good. Not great. I think we would come back to sit at the bar and have an appetizer. For dinner? Probably not. The food is honestly a 3* but the service bumped it to a 4*. Not terrible, not great. Not a destination.

Yelp

Yelp
OK, I think we are permanently done with this place. It's just so inconsistent and borderline bad. Hubby and I had a late afternoon of shopping at two stores only and then wanted to get a quick dinner. Because I hate chains and the places at the Town Center offer limited choices, we gave this one another try. Awful! We walked into a restaurant that had less than 6 tables of people and thought OK, this should be quick and not a struggle like times past. WRONG! One lady brought over water and said the server would be right over. About 7-8 minutes later he did come over and was very nice. I inquired about a drink and he went to get answers on that. Came back quickly and we ordered drinks and an appetizer. Probably another 10 minutes passed before I got a glass of wine, which was warm and not cold as white wine should be and hubby got his soda. Upon serving us, he spilled another drink he was carrying and it did splash my shoes but I didn't complain. Thirty minutes after sitting down, we still had no appetizer and we saw other tables frustrated and complaining. We should have just paid for our drinks and left as it was obvious none of our food had been cooked and this experience was going to be bad. The server comes over and says he's going to comp the appetizer as the entrees are ready and the appetizer is not. Our food was barely warm and my husband got his side salad after he had finished his entree. TERRIBLE experience!! Fried green tomatoes- we don't know as we didn't eat them- he did package them to go Vegetable ravioli- probably good if it was hot, but was lukewarm and not enjoyable Fried chicken sandwich- Was decent but again luke warm and side salad served 10 minutes AFTER he finished the sandwich Small pour of wine for my $15 glass and it was warm not cold. I would choose another place if in the area but be warned there are lots of chains at this shopping area.

Yelp
Came here for Sunday for Brunch and I really can't believe after 9 years this was my first time here. The decor was really amazing but the food was absolutely delicious. The staff was warm and welcoming. I'll be back.

Bethany R.

Yelp
When you first walking the restaurant has a very lively feel too it. The decor is interesting to look ar and creates a very homey feel. We were seated quickly and our water took the time to explain the menu to us even though it was very busy. We placed our drink order and We got the espresso Martini and the Spicy margarita. I prefer my drinks to be on the sweeter side but they were both still good. We got the cinnamon roll to share and I was expecting it to look different than what came out but it was still good. I wish it had more of the icing and toffee sauce drizzled on it. For our mains we got the Brunch Burger and the Hot Honey Sliders. The burger was seasoned well and the toppings were fresh. The Sliders were also good although they were a little cold when the got to the table. Overall a great experience and I would definitely come back.

Linda A.

Yelp
The ambiance is here spectacular! Everywhere you look there is something cute to see. Outside dining is available, but still a little warm out for me,,, but soon! Adorable bar, with hooks for for your purse, attention to details appreciated ;) Drinks YUUUMMY - my personal favorite is was the notorious FIG, but all that we ordered tasted good, and I loved the glassware! Food was over the top! Our bartender's name Alyssa was attentive and very friendly! Definitely coming back!

Yelp
Now this is what I call Southern Charm. The restaurants set up, servers, plate settings, atmosphere, food, all of it is giving Southern Hospitality. This was my first time, but will not be my last! I was on a work trip and someone suggested it for lunch. Just know I love in Orlando and will be driving up for brunch with some friends. We were seated right away with our reservation, the food came out fast, accurate, and fresh. The fried green tomatoes were literally the best I have had in my WHOLE life! The seasoning, the sauce, it was the perfect crispiness on the outside. I even took my left overs home, popped them in the air flyer and say running my feet together eating them on my couch. They are that good! I knew it was a winner when my server brought my drink and they had the "good ice" you know the hospital ice . LOL I loved every minute of my experience and can't wait to come back. I don't remember my servers name but he was just perfect! He had an amazing hat, beautiful curls, and a charm to light up the room. This is by far one of the best food and restaurant experiences I have had in a very long time!

Yelp
AMBIANCE / SERVICE: I love the vibe of this place. It's like a modern take on a country diner. My husband and I went to Ida Claire on a Sunday around noon and were sat at a table pretty quickly. Waitress was very friendly. We ordered two juices, which took quite a bit of time to arrive back at our table after we ordered (at least 10 minutes), but luckily we had water at our table. Staff uses the TOAST system (portable payment machine) so check out was pretty seamless and quick. FOOD: We ordered two juices, orange and pineapple, which were very tasty. We ordered Ida's Biscuits and they were delicious - you will not regret it. I ordered the Low Country Breakfast and substituted the sunny side up eggs with scrambled eggs. I ate every bite of my meal; everything was very good.

Kathryn G.

Yelp
Top tier brunch spot in Jax! Came again with a big group and were treated to a great waiter (what is it with all these great waiters and waitresses in Jax?! I love it!). The vibe is so unique and everything is homemade. Onto the food, the Ham and Green Tomato Benedict ($14.50) was really yummy, but came out a bit cold. The Lobster Mac and Cheese ($15) again was so good! Still only a bit warm when it came out though. The Chicken and Waffles ($19.50) are also another go-to and always good. The Low Country Breakfast ($14) was a great value for the money and yummy! The Seasonal French Toast ($14) had strawberries, blueberries, and homemade whipped cream, and was devoured in literal minutes. The Monte Cristo ($15.50) was a good balance of sweet and salty. And lastly, the Chicken Fried Ribeye ($22) looked great and tasted the same! Definitely a go-to spot in brunch for a tasty meal and great service!

Yelp
We've been meaning to stop in for over a year and I'm so glad we finally did. Great environment inside and out. Our server (Frasier) was great. Very attentive, nice and personable. Everything was worth the price from our drinks to our appetizer to our main courses. On a side note, we're big into music and we had no idea this place has a Vinyl Hour on every week day. We will definitely be back for that sooner than later.

Erica C.

Yelp
Stopped in for a Bloody Mary and some biscuits to go. Sat at the bar. Have a 4 for now pending food and will review again after. Ambiance: Cool vibe, inside and out. Bar area nice with chairs and double seats. Drinks: Great. Bloody Mary for me with goat cheese stuffed olive and a boozy iced martini for my friend. Presentation and taste were on point. Biscuits: 5 in a serving, fluffy. Coke with butter, jam, and gravy. Packaged well to go. Brunch menu: Looks wonderful- we just left a workout and weren't looking for anything heavy. Will be back to try some options, from avocado toast to brunch burgers, to waffles, to shrimp salad.

Yelp
Loved the interior and the service was very good. Food was good but for the price point and hype I just expected amazing, and that is not what I received. We had the smoked chicken salad, a Nashville hot tenders, a spiced grilled chicken, brussels sprouts, a Nashville Cauliflower, peel and eat shrimp, potato wedges, and a chicken and kale salad. If you look at the menu you'll see a nice selection of comfort foods but we try to lean toward the healthier side, so perhaps that is our mistake here. Each dish was good, just not great. The flavors were off and the wow factor was missing. I would consider going back to sample some of the less "healthy" options like the Monte Cristo sandwich which is one of my personal favorites, but based on the selections we made on this visit, they earned a solid 4 stars.

Chelsea R.

Yelp
Brought my dad in from out of town. He's into Cracker Barrel type food so we thought this would be perfect. Drinks online looked super cute so I ordered a Peachy Kean. It was great! Very fun drink, delicious and aesthetically pleasuring. Apps were good! We got the sliders and the Southern Tasting. After that the poor service took over. Plates were piling and nothing was being done about it. We had 3 different servers bring us food and drink and not one offered to take anything out of the way. Prebussing is HUGE for me, and a prior server for 10 years, come on man. It's gross. I had plans for 3 more drinks but didn't continue after 1, literally due to there being no room on the table. All of our entrees were sub-par. My husband got the Red fish dish, it was overpoweringly fishy, and I'm someone who can handle her fish flavor. I got the ribs and honestly I like Costcos better. I wouldn't come back, or recommend this place to anyone unfortunately. Which stinks cause the drinks look so fun.

Tekia H.

Yelp
Ida Claire is a cute spot for brunch in the town center. I normally avoid this area, but I went with a few people after a hike. The food was tasty and menu was nice for brunch. We opted for outside seating. It isn't a great view, but it still was nice sitting outside. The service was fast and able to accommodate my large group with ease. The French toast was nice and the grits were unique but still tasty. I wasn't a huge fan of the turkey sausage, but all in all a very pleasant experience.

Will S.

Yelp
Ida Claire was a surprise find on my last trip to Jacksonville. Based in Dallas, Tx, IC brings with it the organization, size and drinks menu of a well loved Dallas restaurant. And while the resto was empty during my visit, I noticed a swarm of employees getting ready for the rush hour in 2 hours. Got lucky and was served by the bartender -- who dutifully made his best drink for me. I really enjoyed my chicken and waffles that came with 2 eggs. I was way full after that and there was no way in hell I was gonna pass up a genius bourbon peeecan pie ---so I got that to go (wish I took an entire pie). I can eat an entire peeecan pie, if it's really good like this one. Loved the service, love the Southern vibe and ambience to Ida Claire's. Will be back for sure. 4 stars for now until I try the rest of the menu. End of Yelp.

Katherine C.

Yelp
Went for Happy Hour yesterday right before 6PM and was able to order a Frozen Hurricane and got the Crawfish Beignets with the mustard sauce for appetizer. It was very delicious! For the main meal, got the Chicken Waffles-a very popular choice according to Abby, our awesome server everything on it was-egg was perfect, chicken breast was crispy and waffles was yummy, sauce was on-point and nope-there was no room for dessert! Will definitely be back to try other mysterious meals on the menu as this visit definitely was delightful at Ida Claire Town Center.

Brandon D.

Yelp
Been here numerous times and never thought to post a review, so here goes: Bloody Mary - 5/5 Fried Green Tomatoes - 5/5 Short Rib hash w/ sunny side eggs - taste 5/5 but they fell short on the amount of short rib meat so 3/5 overall. Although the potatoes were super awesome, the ribs and eggs were essentially just a topping. Service - 3/5 this recent visit. Probably because they were hosting a holiday party, if they hadn't forgotten my wife's hot sauce she asked for and checked up on us mid-meal, wouldn't have no issues. Price - 4/5. A little pricey in my opinion, but if price is not an issue for you, then no worries. Previous visits I had the gumbo (too salty for me), shrimp & grits (just okay), & chicken & waffles (I can't remember if I liked it).

Krystal G.

Yelp
To start, ask for Alicia. She's fantastic. Not only was she funny, but she was patient and explained everything on the menu (with recommendations). She even brought out a sample of grits (I'm from California and have never had grits before) I was a little nervous about what I should order that would satisfy my appetite. My palette was in FOODIE HEAVEN, and I ordered way more than two could eat. Ok, we started with the biscuits (bacon gravy, jam, and honey butter) 10/10, and the crab cake 10/10. Then we ordered the shrimp and grits, ribs, and lobster mac---cheese. The shrimp and grits are now one of my favs 10/10.The grits are thicker, which I enjoyed, and the sauce . The ribs fell off the bone, and seasoning was on point 10/10. BBQ sauce was tangy with a light hint of heat, which I enjoyed. The ribs also come with cornbread that I couldn't stop picking at. Lobster Mac-n-cheese was not too cheesy (which I like), and they were not stingy with the lobster. 10/10 If you haven't been here or maybe didn't have a good experience before I would definitely go back. ASK FOR Alicia like Alicia Keys

Joel Z.

Yelp
Unreal. Fried chicken with the Nashville sauce is possibly the best fried chicken I have ever eaten in my life anywhere. You'll never find a better sweet heat sauce on this earth. Damn. The crawfish balls were really good too. 100% chance I come back for brunch a lot. Got to ask for the nashville sauce on the bone in chicken if you don't want the tenders.

Bobbie T.

Yelp
What a fun place this is. We stopped off for breakfast on our way out of Jax. The decor is very whimsical. There is a lot to look at including the wallpaper in the bathroom with small mirrors (see pics). The service was a bit slow but it was Sunday morning brunch so we were patient. I got the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were tasty. Not dry. We did order an extra side of gravy, however. That was a little skimpy. I really enjoyed the ham on the side. The eggs and potatoes were par for the course. The "bread pudding" was decadent. It was more like a French toast than bread pudding. I'd definitely have it again. They had some fun speciality drinks. I liked the man mimosa. We'd definitely go back and check out their other menu. Cheers!

Melissa L.

Yelp
Oh, man. If you're on a diet, trying to count calories, or are concerned about letting your eyes take control of your appetite...steer clear of this place. You will want to eat through the menu. I could have started at the top and just ordered from top to bottom. Kudos to the menu writers and chefs who faithfully create complex flavors and surprising combinations of ingredients that don't seem like they'd "match." Take the duck nachos. Garnished with goat cheese. And some mysterious vinegar sauce with a bite. What the heck. Why is it so good? We've gone back for brunch, too. Fried green tomato eggs Benedict? Yes, please. Portions are generous, decor is kooky, and employees are an interesting bunch. Always great service. Make a reservation and don't look back. Nom nom, folks.

Sam T.

Yelp
This really is one of my favorite plates in the city for a bite to eat, and it's one of my favorite places to bring visiting friends. The food is consistently good, and they always have some delicious vegetarian options; the Nashville cauliflower dish is a favorite of mine, and their biscuits are great. I finally gave their seasonal cobbler a try recently and absolutely loved it. The staff is always friendly, too, even going above and beyond when my dog and I were out and stopped in for dinner on the patio. The atmosphere indoors is fun and comfortable, and I like that I've always been able to carry a conversation with tablemates without having to feel like I'm yelling. Overall, Ida Claire is a great Southern experience.

Kenneth S.

Yelp
If you want to try good-granny's southern food, this is your place. Great menu with creative plates that will pleased every family member. Couple that with excellent and quick service. Our server, Stephanie, was attentive, friendly and diligent. Family ambiance, enough parking and accessible prices. Try this place; you'll not be disappointed.

Cristina R.

Yelp
If you're in the Jacksonville area and want a good southern brunch, please visit this place. Ordered the Nashville Tenders and they were so delicious. I also ordered the fried green tomatoes and hot honey sliders. Didn't get a picture before eating since I was so hungry but just know it was good.

Danny C.

Yelp
What a gem. The Yelp reviews and menu drew me in, but this place is remarkably unique. There are many options in this area of JAX, but you'll not find a place quite like this near all the major franchises and food fares. This place's art, decorum, and overall feel immediately set it apart. It felt like part antique art show and part southern-style dining rooms with open air and all the yummy smells. Many Yelp comments were made about the decor and detail, and you notice all of this immediately. The food: I had the crawfish corn beignets. If I were to check a bag for my return flight tomorrow, I would have bought a jug of that mustard remoulade! It had some LEGIT big ol' pieces of crawfish! I had the blackened redfish. It was unreal. My boss had the shrimp and grits with a cup of seafood gumbo beforehand. Alicia talked us into trying the bourbon pecan pie, which was next level. And I know my pecan pies! The plates were cleaned. Everything was just ridiculously delicious. The service: We had the perfect server. Alicia was honest and real and is exactly the person a restaurant owner or investor wants to have as the face of their place. She was the perfect guide to our dining experience. Needless to say, this place was wonderful. Only bother with the chains and other restaurants nearby if you want mediocrity and food without the experience and ambiance that excites you!

Morgan F.

Yelp
The service and food were top notch. Our waitress was very attentive and probably the best service I've received at a restaurant. I liked the indoor decor as it felt very welcoming. They also had nice outdoor tables. I ordered the fried green tomatoes and shrimp and grits. The sauce that came with the tomatoes was very good and they were served crispy. The shrimp and grits was amazing. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and I liked the sauce that came on top.

James D.

Yelp
Ida Claire is your average run-of-the-mill Town Center restaurant. Overpriced cuisine where every dish is covered in sugar. Service is acceptable. The ambiance is okay. The bar service was sub-average. Nothing exceptional to write home about, but a solid option for those wanting brunch or a break from the standard Applebees. Lots of potential to be pretty good considering its size and space and massive bar... but hey, I'm sure run-of-the-mill TC is the vibe they're aiming for.

Daniel T.

Yelp
Wow! This was a delightful treat. The waitress was awesome! Very knowledgeable about food on menu. The Chicken and waffles is WOW! Chicken tenders big. Juicy n crispy, covered in gravy! The waffles are fluffy. Scrambled eggs are an egg-cellent addition to this southern classic. Whether you are in the area holiday shopping or just hungry for great food. This place is worth the time, your taste buds will give you a parade.

Chrystal R.

Yelp
I haven't been back here since they opened, and I'm so glad my family and I decided to try out their dinner here tonight. Everything was delicious, but the service is what made our experience so amazing. We all know there is a shortage everywhere but tonight we completely forgot about that. Zach or Zack (sp) didn't catch how he spelled it lol went above and beyond - he was attentive and had such great suggestions. We all felt like we knew him personally because of how he treated us. We had the opportunity to sit in their airstream and celebrated two kiddos bdays - we enjoyed being able to celebrate them there and how our server treated us. We hope to get him again next time we go back!

Safura O.

Yelp
Need a mid week pick-me-up? Head over to @idaclairejax for supper and be sure to order the Pecan Pie it is just the thing to get you through the week. We were excited for an exclusive invite to @idaclairejax for the Women's History Month fun cocktail menu for March and indulge in featured cocktails crafted by their talented female bartenders! Ida Claire is a beautiful southern restaurant in Towncenter with African and Cajun influences. It really is cute and cozy inside their airstream trailer, great for girlfriends brunch and lots of fun photo ops. The restaurant is also very beautiful, we dined inside and received impeccable service by Stephanie. The menu has wonderfully mixed spring and southern flavors that will make anyone want to come try it. Ida Claire never disappoints with their brunch and supper menu. We tried their classics menu items today: {Featured Food} Strawberry Fields Mocktails Roasted Garlic Hummus - butterbean hummus, roasted garlic, baby carrots, cucumbers, bell peppers, tomatoes, fried pita. Biscuits with homemade strawberries jam was so sweet and yummy. Ancient Grains Salad with fennel, celery root, kale, toasted pecans, apricots, roasted squash, vinaigrette. Wood Grilled Salmon- field pea & edamame succotash, roasted corn, sweet pepper vinaigrette Bourbon Pecan Pie They are great for lunch, dinner, brunch, breakfast and desserts

Yelp
First visit to Ida Claire. You are greeted by an eclectic decor when you enter. The hostess was very polite and seated us upon arrival. Our server, Morgan, was AMAZING!!! Let me say, she is one of the reasons this has a 4-star review. Polite, helpful, seemed to be there when we needed her, but not hovering. She let us sit and talk and refilled our drinks without hesitation. She answered all of our multitude of questions with a smile and gave recommendations when asked and the reasons for the recommendations. We started with the biscuits. Oh what tasty biscuits they were too. Served with honey butter, strawberry jam, and bacon gravy. I could have bathed everything in that bacon gravy and been quite content. It was wonderful. Lots of pepper, so if you're not a pepper fan I wouldn't recommend it, but I like my gravy peppery so it was perfect. The biscuits were light and fluffy and served nice and hot. I opted for the Monte Cristo after finding out it is not deep fried. I wish I had gone with my original idea of chicken and waffles or the burger. It was not my favorite. It had WAY too much bread. You really couldn't taste much else. I tried cutting down the middle to see if that helped - it did not. Not that it wasn't good, but you mostly just taste the bread. When I got a taste of the ham it was nicely grilled and had good flavor. The housemade chips were spicy and crispy and very good. They offered to make me something different, but I had eaten enough biscuits to be full and declined. I would like to return to try another menu item, and will definitely see if Morgan is working then as she made the visit tops!

Yelp
Our third time here, and this brunch place still charms us with its excellent service, fantastic food, french pressed coffee, and sinfully good treats like their famous Cinnamon toast. A must visit gem in Jacksonville! This is by far best brunch in Jax.

Yelp
I have been here a couple times, and as a vegetarian I am always happy with their menu. I came for dinner before and got a delicious veggie burger, and today I came for brunch and got the Nashville hot cauliflower. The cauliflower was crispy and came with a biscuit at the bottom that I was not expecting, but was a pleasant surprise. I did think it could be spicier and wasn't as hot as a traditional Nashville hot. I also got potatoes and they were the perfect squishy and crispy and such a good flavor. It was the perfect amount of food that left me feeling full. The service was great. We were a larger party and had Alicia and she was very patient, even though I'm sure splitting checks up the way we did, isn't always a servers favorite thing. We were celebrating a birthday and brought a small cake from Publix and she took it to the back for us to put in the fridge and brought it out at the end with plates and silverware. She never rushed us out and was always kind and I felt she went above and beyond what she had to do as a server.

Yelp
I can't believe it took us this long to make it to Ida Claire but it finally happened. We can in for an early lunch during the week and had no problem getting a table. We were quickly brought to our table and given menu. Wow there is some much that sounds good on this menu so I did have a hard time making a decision. Make to ask your waiter/waitress what they recommend and you will not be lead astray. Having never been to Ida Claire we knew was had to start off with an appetizer. I will say there are so many delicious sounding options but we made the executive decision and went with the Crawfish Corn Beignets which are served with a Mustard Remoulade. Went went with the Crawfish Corn Beignets since it's something you don't see on every menu and come on would doesn't live a decked out hushpuppy. The Beignets were amazing. Crispy on the the outside and fluffy on the inside. The Mustard Remoulade also paired great and you gotta love that their of full crawfish tails in these Beignets and not tiny chopped up pieces that you need and magnifying glass to find like other places. We also had to try the Sausage & Pimento Mac N' Cheese. I was so rich and creamy and a side of it is perfect to split with 2 people. A for sure must with getting tasty southern food. Like I mentioned earlier I was having a hard time trying to figure out what entrée to order since so many sounded amazing so I had to ask the waitress what's best and she said the Shrimp & Grits which are served with Grilled Gulf Shrimp, Bacon, Gristmill Asiago Grits, and Low Country Piquant Cream. Everything about this dish was great. Perfectly cooked shrimp. Flavorful cream sauce, and hardy grits. It if for sure worth trying. Ashley got the Monte Cristo which comes with Country Ham, Aged White Cheddar, Peppered Bacon, Powdered Sugar, and House Jam. I also comes with a side of their house made chip. The Monte Cristo is a meaty, cheesy, sweet mess which can only mean it is amazing. I will say you will be exhausted and will for sure need a nap if you are able to finish it. The house made chips are also very good and light. Good thing I can't buy them by the bag. We will be sure to come back since their is still so much I have to try that just sounds amazing. Till next time Ida Claire.

Yelp
Definitely a super cool southern name and a nice venue to boot. Really enjoyed the atmosphere. Full beautiful bar too. Service is awesome. The food all looks amazing, and the portions are huge. Be careful biting into the chicken fried ribeye - has loads of bone fragments in it. Also it was way too salty. Need to dial back on the salt. Also the Louisiana hot sauce was a nice touch, but it was saturated all over the meal and just overpowering. The lobster mac and cheese was nice and creamy. Not enough lobster, but pretty cheesy. Fried chicken is good, but also way too salty. Prices are a little above average but not unreasonable considering the portions. A nice experience but way too salty for our pallets for a return visit.

Yelp
Have a group party for work. The waitress was great with the whole group and really did not have wait for anything. Had a number of appetizers to start off. The honey chicken sliders were a bit messy but very good. One thing I ordered was the crawfish cornmeal hushpuppies. Those were really good with remoulade sauce. Main course for me was the catfish po'boy. A bit messy too. Only thing was that it was fried fish. Would have been better if grilled. Overall a pretty good experience and the interior decorations were interesting to see. Probably will be back.

Yelp
The menu here was very intriguing so we made a lunch reservation online and although we were running behind the staff was kind enough to reschedule us. We were seated immediately and provided menus. This place is so cute! It's quirky and fun and the menu options sounded amazing! Lots of southern inspired dishes. I tried the Nashville cauliflower and seafood dip. The Cauliflower was so good!! Especially with the ranch that they provided. I liked the seafood dip but there seemed to be more cheese than seafood. I loved that crawfish was mixed in though. For my entree I had the short rib and potato hash. Wow. The portion is huge! It easily could have been shared between 2-3 ladies. I had leftovers for the next day. The short rib was prepared with a gravy but otherwise delicious. Our server recommended the sangria and said it was one of the best she's had. I didn't feel the same way unfortunately. I couldn't taste anything more than red wine. I like when sangria has a unique element like a spice or similar. This was pretty bland. And there was no fruit. I did love the ambience of this place and had a great experience. I'd love to return.

Yelp
First time at this restaurant (which used to be Mimi's). Different decor than the previous owners. When you walk in it is open and more homey - welcoming ambiance. The hostess was very pleasant and seated us in a booth next to the wall of plates. (Whoever designed that wall and hung the plates gets my vote of support.) Our server, Morgan, was very knowledgeable, professionally friendly and overall wonderful! She answered our questions (and we had a lot) and kept our beverages filled - always with a cheerful smile. I ordered the the Ida's Biscuits appetizer that comes with bacon gravy, honey butter and house jam (today it was peach strawberry). DELICIOUS!! The jam (which you can buy in a pint size to go) was my favorite. And yes, I put the honey butter on first, then the jam. Next I tried the bacon gravy. I will confess I am not a bacon (nor sausage) gravy person, but this was quite tasty. There was a little too much pepper in it for me. Next, I had the Chicken & Kale Salad - grilled chicken, pickled cranberries & mustard seeds, broccolini, grilled grapes, herbed goat cheese, pumpkin seeds, and homemade honey mustard salad dressing. Everything, again, was DELICIOUS!! I even took half of it home, as I had my fair share of biscuits. Overall (and based on my first experience at this restaurant), I will be back to try other interesting and taste tempting items on the menu!!

Yelp
The caulifower wings, the biscuits, and the cornbread. The notorius F.I.G. cocktail. Those were my favorite things here, a great dinner!

Yelp
The biscuits are delicious! The food was so good we went back two days in a row. The chicken and waffles were good I mostly enjoyed the chicken tenders that came well seasoned. We also got the shrimp and grits. Lots of grits so plenty to eat. The following day we order the crab cakes which I enjoyed and ate it with some biscuits. I tried the tomato Benedict's and it was good with the side of potatoes. I cannot wait to go back again. The customer service was pleasant which made the experience that much better.

Yelp
I've heard so many good things about Ida Claire and was super pumped to finally come! My friends have been talking about it for ages - not just the Jacksonville location but also from Texas. The space is surprisingly large and the decor is so comforting - it makes you feel right at home and so relaxed. Happy hour aka vinyl hour was a prime time to try some extra goodies! I had an old fashioned, short rib sliders and a treat of some biscuits and jam + butter. Everything was delicious. The fried chicken... y'all don't even understand how much I enjoyed every bite. I only managed to eat half and that was me stuffing my face. It was absolutely SCRUMPTIOUS. Our service was phenomenal. We were right by the bar and our lovely server Claire was on top of everything we needed. I only wish I could've tried the salmon and the chicken and waffles and you know, everything else on the menu. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
The service was top notch! They took great care of me. The ambulance was nice and gave a southern flare. I was not as impressed with the food as I thought I'd be. The Crawfish Beignets were excellent but I did not like my pork chop.
