"This Southern-style cafe in Addison has all the comfort food one could want in a slightly hipper environment than the average. Naturally, that also includes a great plate of fried chicken. Get it straight with a seasonal salad for lunch or dinner, or go with chicken and waffles for brunch." - Courtney E. Smith, Amy McCarthy

"Ida Claire is forever a solid brunch spot, but from from June 16 to 23, it will offer brunch all day, from it’s opening to 4 p.m. Now that brunch is no longer relegated to a weekend only event, pop by and order a ham and green tomato Benedict, Southern quiche with peach and goat cheese salad, short rib and potato hash, and so many other Southern comfort food favorites." - Courtney E. "To scratch the itch for Southern food, head to this Addison-born restaurant from Frontburner. It is well-known for it’s brunch, but lunch is also a sleeper hit. During its daily happy hour, the bartenders play DJs and select records to play on vinyl for diners (and drinkers). Go for the classic fried chicken, monte cristo, or the Nashville hot chicken." - Courtney E. Smith, Amy McCarthy

"It’s a lovely day, but a cocktail laced with CBD could make it all the more enjoyable — if that’s your thing. For those who are CBD evangelists, or just CBD curious, Ida Claire announced a new menu of infused cocktails for the summer. They include the “Jungle Bird,” which has CBD-infused Plantation 3 Stars rum, Velvet Falernum, pineapple, papaya, passion fruit, coconut, lime and orange. The “High Tea Thyme” is made with Still Austin gin, Amaro Nonino, CBD green tea simple, lime, lavender bitters and thyme. And the “Leaves of Green,” which has Plantation 3 Star rum, Metaxa brandy, CBD green tea simple, matcha, soy milk, Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur and chocolate bitters. Additionally, local bartenders will craft a rotator CBD-infused cocktail. Stop in to mellow out your summer. It’s at 5001 Belt Line Road in Dallas." - Courtney E. Smith

I've been to Ida Claire a couple times, but my most recent visit was disappointing. While all the staff are very friendly, I was less than impressed with my food. I got Ida's fried chicken with a side of Mac and cheese. The fried chicken was extremely dry, not very flavorful, and the fried coating is very thin. In addition, the mac and cheese is just as lackluster. The cheese sauce was very thin with very little cheese flavor. All the sauce had puddled at the bottom. Even after stirring the noodles, it was still a very unsatisfactory experience. In my previous visits, while I wasn't blown away by the food, I also wasn't as disappointed.

This place is where Southern comfort gets a quirky, brunch-drunk makeover—and I’m all for it. The food’s a hit: biscuits that feel like a hug, chicken that’s got crunch and soul, and cocktails that somehow taste better in mismatched vintage glassware. The vibe is eclectic in the best way—think antique travel meets Alice in Wonderland. Outdoor seating is a win when the weather’s good, and service is usually on point. Just know it gets packed, so book ahead or be ready to sip and wait. Bonus: their bathroom wallpaper alone deserves five stars.

Came here to have Brunch with my sister! Food was pretty good! I had to return my first order (Shrimp and Grits)and replaced it with the Chicken and Waffles. The fried green tomatoes were delicious. Our waitress was professional and very attentive! I would come back with the hopes of a 5 star experience!

We enjoyed the ambiance and decor. We decided to sit at the bar due to the wait (a good choice). I ordered the lobster mac & cheese, and while I enjoyed the dish it lacked flavor. I was unsure if this was deliberate to ensure the lobster popped or due to the busyness. I sampled the VICE cake, intrigued by the tobacco syrup in the description on the menu. The balance of sweet and salty was superb. The cake was a tad dry but overall pretty good! I would love to try the brunch and breakfast menu!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Southern Comfort with a Side of Duck Fat This was my third time dining at Ida Claire in a month, and it’s quickly becoming a favorite. Let’s talk about the Duck Nachos — easily the richest plate I’ve ever seen. (Pictured) Duck confit, fried duck egg, duck fat gravy, goat cheese velouté, herbed goat cheese, lime crema, and spiced chips. It’s bold, decadent, and honestly kind of ridiculous — in the best way. I’ve also had the shrimp and grits, which were fantastic… except for one thing: the shrimp tails. Why are we still doing this? Nobody wants to dig tails out of a creamy bowl of grits and get messy fingers. Just take them off. Please. I mean I’ve done it myself but it’s just lazy and I get that a lot of chefs think that it helps the flavor and probably helps the shrimp from over cooking but I still just don’t get it. Have the Line Cook take the shrimp tail off when they plate.. The salmon was a complete knockout — packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. The seafood pasta was good too: creamy, full of seafood, and felt like a solid value, even if it didn’t hit the same level of indulgence as the nachos. Ida Claire delivers elevated Southern food with personality. I’ll be back — probably for more duck fat and one fewer shrimp tails

Google
Restaurant definitely has a more relaxed feel to fit into the southern aesthetic. The service was good and I really appreciate now when you pay directly at the table without the server needing to take your card. All of the drinks that we had were very good as were the biscuits. The seafood pasta was also delicious!

Yelp
Great drinks, service and ambiance! Love Ida Claire! Would recommend for a fun environment for dinner with a friend or a date night!

Yelp
Ida Claire in Addison is the perfect spot for an amazing meal and work lunch! I cannot state how thankful I am to Lisa for the unsurpassed customer service! Her ability to show flexibility and work through all inquires and requests was incredible. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Thank you so much, Lisa!

Yelp
This place is SO good! No wonder it was packed on a Monday night. Good for a night with friends, a night with coworkers, a date night... I tried a few things and seriously loved them all. -Corn/crawfish beignets: These were little fried balls of deliciousness. The dipping sauce was very tasty too. -Crab cakes: I'm usually not a fan of crab cakes, but these were so...crabby! In a good way. -Shrimp & grits: This dish was full of flavor, filling, and the ultimate comfort food. The shrimp was seasoned perfectly, the sauce on top blended nicely with the warm cheesy grits, and the little crunchy sprinkles of bacon added a wonderful texture to an otherwise "mushy" type of dish. -It sounds so basic, but if you have a group with you, order the cookie jar and vanilla milk. Everyone can get their own little vanilla bean milk, and a generously sized, super fluffy, slightly salty, very special restaurant recipe chocolate chip cookie. It's one of the best chocolate chip cookies I've had in a long time. -Arnold Palmer: They even got the ratio perfect for this...like...how?!

Yelp
Tried Happy Hour followed by dinner. Happy hour was actually pretty good, plenty of drink options and a few snacks. The mango margarita was a little thick, but the espresso martini was Make sure you get the RIGHT bar tender to make the old fashioned though. I love bourbon but that first one was ONLY bourbon. Highly recommend (not pictured) poster Mac n cheese, it has a kind of spice that was so good. Everything we had was actually pretty good, I haven't had a lot here that I didn't like. Bartender and servers all seemed great and checked in often enough. Would go back for an easy ni

Yelp
Incompetent reservation staff. They wanted to seat our two seats at a high top table with another group immediately adjacent to the kitchen. Since we wanted to talk and have a personal conversation sharing a table with strangers was not acceptable. Since we were a same sex pair and the other were a black couple it made me wonder if they were going out of their way to make all 4 of us feel unwelcome as I've never been seated at a table with another couple, let alone next to the kitchen with all that noise and traffic. Forget getting timely service before seeing a play at Watertower theatre because I had to wait 10 minutes to have that abysmal conversation. We left directly for the theatre. So much for grabbing some down home cooking 90 minutes before a show. Go anywhere else in the area if you are looking for a before show dinner as this place can't accommodate a 1hr seating on a walk in basis and has incognizant seating staff. It's basic food not a gourmet restaurant, there is no excuse for attitude or incompetent service. BTW, the litany of 5star reviews by people who've posted exactly 1 review with Yelp is beyond suspicious. Looks like Yelp is letting restaurant management pad their reviews these days.

Yelp
Lovely ambiance and friendly service who were very helpful when navigating allergy questions and accommodations. I had the chicken and waffles, and the chicken was t really perfect. I highly recommend getting the Nashville hot. The waffles themselves were a little bit dry and dense but overall very good!

Yelp
Ida Claire is soooo cute!!! Love their vibe!! Service is a bit slow...or it was when we were there. But our waitress was so friendly!! Only mishap was when she told me there was 5 pieces of peach cobbler left and me and one more in my group said we wanted to order 2 and that we would take them to go. After our meal, we were ready to take them, she came back and said they are out of ice cream...then came back and said they were out of the cobbler. DEVASTATED!! Went for the pecan pie instead....it was soooo so delicious!!! ....of course I bet the cobbler would have been just as good if not better!!! I digress....the food was great! The lobster mac and cheese had a green chile taste to it which was delicious! The crab cake was also great...everyone loved their meals actually!! The drinks were always great, the Lavender Haze drink was not only beautiful but also delicious! We were in town for work and happened to be staying in the area, but if we are in the area again in the future...we will be going back!!

Yelp
Love the word play in the name Ida Claire. Get it? I declare. Southern cuisine. Great and friendly service. Fun decor and plays on words throughout the restaurant. Such as a bottle labeled THC. It was the hot sauce. We tried a variety of different dishes and drinks. The food was decent. Overall, not as flavorful as I'd like especially for the price. On the other hand, the drinks were delicious! The shrimp and grits- decent, but nothing special lemon poppyseed pancakes- tasty, I didn't taste lemon really sausage and potatoe hash- delish! Highly recommend Crawfish corn fritters- tasty corn fritters, but lacked crawfish The drinks- Ida Frose- wine slushy, Smoke and Mirrors-mezcal based passion fruit drink, Peachy Keane- peach and ginger drink highly recommend all of them. Go for the great service, fun decor and delicious drinks!

Yelp
While staying at a nearby hotel, there wasn't really any good dining options in the area. The high Google reviews for Ida Claire located nearby had me skeptical, imagining it might be a "Cheesecake Factory situation" -- a little bit of everything but nothing truly exceptional. I couldn't have been more wrong. We stopped by on a weekday during their Vinyl Happy Hour with no reservation and was seated right away -- a great start! The vibe was relaxed yet lively, perfect for unwinding. The décor definitely had me looking everywhere; absolutely loved it. Here's what I tried: From the Vinyl Happy Hour menu: - Mini Hummus Board: Generous portion of hummus that took up half the plate, served with soft pita and assorted fresh vegetables. - Nashville Shrimp: Four jumbo shrimp in a light batter. I requested the spicy dressing on the side, which worked perfectly. - Ida's Frosé: Light, refreshing, and the ideal Happy Hour drink. From the regular menu: - Crab Cake: Absolutely incredible. Hands down, the best crab cake I've ever had. It's packed with pure crab meat -- no fillers. Though listed under "Share Plates," I enjoyed it all myself, and it's large enough to be an entrée. Ida Claire absolutely lives up to the hype. If I'm ever back in Addison, you know I'll be back. And if you haven't been, add it to your list!

Yelp
I went here yesterday for my bday with my family. I had an amazing time. We went around 3pm. We were doing brunch. They were very busy but after eating there I understood why. You definitely have to set a reservation. We had a party of 9 and had a lot of awesome food. Everything was delicious with great service. They had a fantastic staff. Our waitress MJ was so impressive. She was busy with other tables and handled it so professionally. She updated up on every time she had to step away. Everything we needed she got it. Her management staff Ashley Pellegrino & Troy McKinney were amazing help. The gave me a fantastic time. We will definitely be going back again & again. If you haven't been here you definitely need to go!!!!

Kimberly W.

Yelp
The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The restaurant is interestingly decorated. The lamp for The Christmas movie was spotted and there were a few items for sell. My drink was delicious and service was excellent. There was an outside area where people could bring their dogs.

Yelp
I absolutely love the atmosphere here--it's the perfect mix of elegance and style. Every time we've visited, the food has been nothing short of spectacular. This place is a true vibe! The music they play sets the tone beautifully, creating an inviting and relaxed ambiance that makes you want to stay longer. We actually ended up coming here two days in a row! The first night, we came for dinner and had such an incredible experience that we just had to come back. We noticed the Happy Hour Menu on our first visit, and it looked too good to pass up. So, the very next day, we returned to sample even more of what they had to offer. If you're looking for a place that combines amazing food with a great atmosphere, this is it. We'll definitely be coming back for more!

Phil B.

Yelp
Overpriced. Been here a few times and I always get in a debate about their pork chop being cooked medium as opposed to being fully cooked. It's pork! Anyways, had the tenders this time and the snapper. Tenders were good but can get the same if not better at a fast food place for half the price. Snapper was pretty good though. Service was as expected and vibes are cool inside. Big open space. I'd go back at some point but nothing exciting overall

Yelp
We went on a Saturday morning around 11:30am. We had a reservation, but they didn't actually have a table for us so we ended up being seated in the converted airstream. It was super cute, but pretty warm in there even with the AC running and the staff didn't realize we were in there due to miscommunication between the hosts and waitstaff. Our waitress was great, though, as was all of the other staff who helped run food and drinks. I had a cold brew, but the rest of my party had various cocktails and mocktails and enjoyed all of them! I had the cornbread benedict and it was just as delicious as it sounded. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it!

L. N. D.

Yelp
This is the cutest little spot. Was in Dallas for a birthday and the birthday girl wanted to come here. I asked the waiter (TK???) to surprise me and this is what he brought. I think it's the seafood pasta minus the peppers. It was divine!!! The crawfish critters were okay. I didn't snap a picture, . I would definitely go back for the past if/when in town and for our server.

Michaela B.

Yelp
We were so excited to try this place out; however, the service both times we've visited hasn't been the greatest. The food itself is delicious, the food comes out SUPER FAST(especially if you order kids meals), but if your order an alcoholic beverage it's severely delayed coming out. To be fair- the first time we dined it was an early Saturday morning and there was only 2 other diners. This past visit was a full house and the hostess at front seemed disgruntled that our family of 3 did not have reservations at 10AM on a Sunday. In all- we may return solely for the food and the super cute decor... but will definitely not expect much of service.

Liza K.

Yelp
Holy Smokes! This place was amazing! Not many southern cooking restaurants around and I'm not quite sure how I missed this one. We sat in the patio. So many great shareables. The Fried Green Tomatoes and Biscuits were amazing. My friends ordered chicken and salmon salads, and I ordered the Hummus with veggies. No I'm not a vegetarian, it's just that I wanted that. I was eyeing another guests chicken and waffles which looked to die for. I will definitely be coming back to try a few other dishes and have the amazing cocktails I heard they have which I wasn't in the mood for this round. Restrooms were even inviting with amazing lit Idaho Claire candles. 5 stars!

Reaunna J.

Yelp
The atmosphere, the music, the food, all amazing! The seafood pasta is a must try! They go d you lots of seafood and the portion sizes are great. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Raymond M.

Yelp
If you are deciding on your next meal, check this place out! Was hoping to catch brunch, but ended up coming for lunch. Our server was great, he came to our table multiple times to ensure we were enjoying our food and if we needed anything. A lot of unique decorations in the dining area and inside the bathroom. Outdoor and indoor dining available. Plenty of parking. Blackened catfish - 5/5 Chicken and waffles - 5/5 Biscuits - 5/5 House salad - 3/5 Fried oysters - 2/5 Red beans and rice - 2/5

Kelley B.

Yelp
Great food and service. The waitress was nice checked on us often. The food was really good. More of a southern vibe. I ordered chicken and waffles as well as a side of grits and my friend ordered shrimp and grits. We both really enjoyed it. Definitely a staple within the Dallas area check this place out if you're looking for a good brunch spot. Please make a reservation.

Yelp
Ida Claire Brunch review 11-23-24 Short version Crafted cocktails, fresh ingredients, support local businesses, chef owned restaurant, menu changes w chef choices by the season. Wish there were 10 stars to give. Exceeded our expectations and I'm a fan for LIFE! Behind the bar: Valerie Wow! If you want the best service, the tastiest drinks and food, prepared and designed with love & intention, then run! do not walk to Ida Claire My friend Michelle and met for brunch to catch up! We walked in and were greeted by the warm, engaging staff, and opted to sit at the bar to grab brunch. We had reservations (highly recommended) this place gets packed. They also get all of their ingredients from local providers, and you can tell the love and attention for which the food is prepared comes across in every single bite. AMBIANCE ~ Beautifully decorated, with whimsy, charm and a little magic. They have a beautiful little patio outside with a really cool jet stream trailer that can be reserved for a private party! If you prefer a little more people watching, sit at the bar, it's beautifully designed, and very welcoming. SERVICE Shout out for wonderful service! Valerie was helpful, knowledgeable about the menu and gave us great suggestions. I appreciated the positive vibe of everyone because it was a really busy Saturday brunch. FOOD/DRINKS Best expresso Martini & Mimosa Start w the big enough to share: Pull Apart Cinnamon Roll toffee sauce, cream cheese icing, toasted pecans Yum! Avocado Toast avocado spread, pistou aioli, feta cheese, spiced pistachios, chili flakes, chive oil, sunny side egg RESTROOMS Very clean with sweet details! OVERALL We had a outstanding experience, on my top 10 of experiences! The restaurant was beautiful. We felt taken care of walked in the door until the second we left. The staff was wonderful, they all worked together and had an incredible vibe that created a great experience. We will def be back and bring friends! If you want a nice brunch with friends or date brunch, or you have friends in town or you're celebrating something special, definitely bring them here! Tell them Peggy sent you for extra love!

Yelp
Such a cute spot- particularly for brunch of happy hour. I can definitely see how this place is popping. The decor is super fun with the book theme and the patio is a great spot to chill. Admittedly, I had this place on my list but it elevated my curiosity when I saw it on "Love Is Blind" a while back. I made a reservation about an hour before we arrived and there were plenty of options at lunch. We were promptly seated even though we were about 15 minutes early. In other words, there's usually something available and you might as well book it on your way there. We got the Nashville Cauliflower, fried green tomatoes, gulf fried oysters, the Chicken and Waffles, and a salad. The cauliflower was perfectly cooked with just the right kick. The chicken and waffle were pretty average but they're certainly a staple along with everything else that is southern fried here. I'd honestly come here more for the atmosphere and to hang out if I'm in the mood for some southern food but I'd probably rather pick a mom and pop hole in the wall with tastier (albeit unhealthier) food.

Nicki M.

Yelp
I'm just all over this place! It's got a cool vibe that makes you want to stay a while, have a drink, and enjoy all the yummy food options! Service was excellent! I'm a lover of fried chicken so if a restaurant offers it, I'm going to order it! I love that I got to choose dark meat only because I'm not a big fan of the white meat- win!! The crust was great, fried to a golden brown and not super greasy when served. It came with watermelon, basil, and feta that is so scrumptious I could eat it everyday!! Definitely check this place out!

Nette B.

Yelp
Dined here because my daughter says her husband swears that this is the best spot for an old fashioned. Our server was Dylan P. and he was the best. 5 STARS for providing great service. He was attentive but not annoying. A very pleasant personality and welcoming. The restaurant is pretty good in size, and they were busy. The decor is beautiful and they have large tables and high tops. Food: Thrice Old Fashioned Steak & Noodle Salad My family ordered the Biscuits, kids' chicken waffles, kids' pasta, Wood Fired Ribs, Chicken & Waffle, and Cobler dessert. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The salad was refreshing since I've been traveling. The meat was tasty and I liked the somen noodles. I'd return again if I'm in the area.

JC N.

Yelp
Was in Dallas for Parents Weekend at SMU and for the SMU vs FSU football game. Daughter wanted to go somewhere cool for brunch so there's where start to search for a "cool spot". I ran across Ida Claire and the food menu look good, so we made our way there. Place was full, but there was seating in the patio area which my daughters loved. The deco was cool, our waiter was awesome and the food was great. We are glad we made the choice to try Ida Claire, will definitely be back. You must try: Ida's Bread Basket... we had 2 I also had the Shrimp and Grits... good, very good. I mean my older daughters goes to school in New Orleans so I know a good Shrimp and Grits when I taste one.

Mackenzie S.

Yelp
I absolutely love the vibe of this place. I've been a few times. I enjoyed my shrimp and grits and a seasonal adult beverage with mezcal last time I went, yummy! The Nashville Cauliflower was surprisingly delicious and biscuits were good. I definitely recommend this place.

David D.

Yelp
The food was excellent (I had the dinner ribs- it was Christmas Eve!) with plentiful servings. The side salad is the best I've ever had anywhere. The ambience was remarkable- large groups, couples- but a classy atmosphere. The bartender was friendly and attentive. I will be back for sure!

Nehal A.

Yelp
A vibrant venue, buzzing crowd, with open ceiling rustic look, serving Southern style food and lots of craft beer. Loved the interior of the restaurant, especially couches around the bar. From the huge bar, they serve many local beers, IPA and all sort of cool alcoholic drinks. We were in for a team dinner and we got to enjoy so many tasty dishes. The appetizers platter's cheese, the fritters, the meatball, the biscuits all were quality. The hot honey chicken sandwich was incredible. Had a such a good taste with perfect combination of brioche bread and other ingredients. Overall service was excellent, wonderful friendly staff, kept checking with us throughout the dinner, helped us with picking our entrees and drinks.

Melody V.

Yelp
A contemporary take on southern comfort food! We missed happy hour by a few minutes but ended up getting a "group" cocktail for $34 and got 6 drinks from it. We got the blueberry Moscow mule which was really refreshing and not too sweet. We split the fried green tomatoes and Nashville cauliflower bites. The cauliflower bites were hotter than expected, I wouldn't recommend this if you can't handle heat. The apps were a perfect size for a party of 4. I got the seafood pasta, it was rich but light in actual seafood in the pasta.

Marli M.

Yelp
Food was fantastic! Service was great! Atmosphere was so freaking loud. Came in for a BD lunch and it was so loud we could hardly talk. There are way too many tables and seats crammed into one giant room. It was honestly overwhelming. The service was attentive and fun. Menu was wonderful and vast. My table shared the hush puppies and biscuits, all divine and crispy. I ordered the chicken and waffles and it was delightful! The egg was totally unnecessary and I didn't even eat it but the rest was killer. Big portions too. Maybe if we would have had a side table or outside or something it would have been a better experience.

Renee I.

Yelp
Ida always gets the job done. I came here right after a workout so I didn't have the decency to snap my pics before I ate. I ordered the Short Rib & Potato Hash and had them prepare my eggs, egg-whites only. This dish with their Louisiana hot sauce was a chef's kiss. Everything blended together nicely. The lobster mac n cheese was a 10/10 and that's all you need to know about it.

Vidhi P.

Yelp
Went to Ida Claire's and tried their dinner sampler and mocktails! the mocktails were delicious and I loved the variety that was in the sampler. The ambiance was great as well!

Meredith F.

Yelp
I think I literally died and entered the pearly gates of Heaven when I stepped into this place. This might be the best food I ever put into my mouth. I'm not exaggerating. I'm not joking. I literally died and went to heaven. The food is so juicy and succulent. I'm not from the south and I did not have high hopes or expectations. I ordered the chicken sliders snd the spatzle (btw - the waitress mentioned I was only the second customer in her time serving there that knew what spatzle was , haha!) and the meat was so tender and juicy and the sauce was out of this Flippin world. I think it was honey hot sauce. I want to eat here for breakfast lunch and dinner. Too bad I don't live here, in Addison, because I seriously would be a daily patron. Who created these recipes? These food combinations? The food combination and flavors are so powerful, zesty, they just explode in your mouth. WOWOWWWWWWW! Whoever recipes these are, and whoever is cooking, needs to win an award! They need to win the best food in the universe award. Who's giving out that award? Whoever it is, this place deserves it. After reading this review, if you don't go to this place there will be something forever in your life-experience missing. I can't wait to come back to Addison, Texas so I can eat here again. Screw the diet - this place is just remarkable! Its deliciousness is unfindable out there in the world. I hope the chef or manager comments on how these recipes were created. For whomever that person is, they are a very special person, and they have made quite the mark on the world with their talent. The place is so creative and I love the adorable signs on each table too! Thank you for this incredible forever memory!

Jenna B.

Yelp
This was a lovely spot for brunch. The staff were timely, accurate and professional. The food was good and the drinks were awesome. This spot is a little pricey, but it is worth it. The restrooms also were very clean overall I give this spot five stars and I will return.

Gabriell G.

Yelp
Exceptional food, service, and drinks. I was there for my birthday with friends. Can't say enough about the hostess, Lisa, and our server, Zoe! The hostess came To check on our table and make sure I was enjoying myself for my birthday. Zoe was so smooth with her service, patient, prompt, and had a fun spirit! All items were tasty. Ribs, ravioli, Mac and cheese, Brussel sprouts, cornbread, fried green tomatoes, mixed drinks. Atmosphere is a vibe and the parking is free! Even the manager, Ashley, came to check on us! This is my new spot!

Stephanie M.

Yelp
I have been to Ida Claire plenty of times in another city so this review is specifically for the Addison location (Dallas). It was pretty busy for a Saturday morning which is expected, so be sure to make a reservation if you want to be seated on time. They do have indoor and outdoor options. Wait staff was great at making recommendations for people in our party that were there for the first time. Also, the waiter was very patient with us as we decided what to eat and drink. As always, the food was outstanding. I love the southern take they have on common items, like the lobster beignets. I say, try anything on the menu and you won't be disappointed. And go ahead and have yourself a little drinky drink as well. The bartenders know what they are doing. Needless to say, I've had consistency with this restaurant across multiple cities.

Yelp
It's been a while since I've been here and I came with a party of 12 this time. Ida Claire is always solid. The food is classic and the drinks are great. The service is always quick and accurate ( especially considering we had 14 people) and the little RV where you can eat will always be adorable for a small party.

Yelp
Be warned that the plates are huge. Food was generally quite tasty. Service was fast as the place was hopping. Defiantly recommend the friend green tomatoes. My chicken and waffles were good... but again too much food crowding an undersized plate.

Yelp
So I returned to Ida Claire for the 2nd time for happy hour and to try a few of the appetizers. My server this time was MJ and the service didn't disappoint! MJ was very attentive and knowledgeable of items. MJ upsold us on the extra pour which was great because I knew nothing about this option prior! The Dips and Spread Board was pretty cool and the pimento was surprisingly well prepared. The spinach was my fav though! I can taste the lemon zest and the bread crumbs was a nice touch. As the last time, the vibe was nice! The patio was comfortable and the day was beautiful enough to enjoy.

Yelp
We enjoyed the patio seating on a sunny Saturday. The inside is spacious and good for large parties. Food: the chicken blt was perfect! The thick cut bacon had a hit honey taste and the chicken was amazing! I always get the crawfish beignets; literally can't go wrong with them! Service: The woman at the front could improve her service and actually speak when you enter but our server made up for it with his excellent service.

Yelp
Decent food...horrible service. Got two different servers, one more useless than the other. Sitting at the bar, the place is not packed. See staff looking busy and jawing. But first server forgot our coffee, the second forgot to put in the order for the fritters. Almost felt like we weren't welcome. The Nashville sandwich was good though.

Yelp
A great place for brunch and I love the waffles and chicken. I little loud but a casual place to have brunch.

Yelp
I was shown some southern hospitality at Ida Claire! Great menu with so much to choose from. I wanted to try a few different entrees. Loved the honey mustard chicken that comes with creamy cheddar spaetzle, sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms, and shaved Brussels sprouts. While it took a while to get initial service, the staff more than made up for it by expediting my meal. From the time the server came to my table, within 5 minutes my dinner was out. Ida Claire is a great spot to come with a group of friends for drinks and food, a date, or a solo dinner. You're able to hold a conversation and it's got a great feel to the place, with dim lighting, candles, and decor.

Yelp
So here's the skinny on this place, we've been here on more than one occasion and have ordered differently each time to give a fair assessment. The honest truth about this place is they are MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. Not terrible but nothing blows you away that you just wake up saying to yourself "I have to go back there for that." Shrimp and grits: (7.5) pretty standard but more on the gourmet side of Shrimp and grits and as someone raised in the 337 (Lafayette) i could see why LA wouldn't like it, but it's honestly cool. Chicken/county fried steak meal: (5) steak, low quality, some places you go and order a CFS you feel like it, but this was just meh. Lots of breading. Potatoes were cool, eggs scrambled so it was cool, I wouldn't order this again though. Fried chicken: (6) non offensive fried chicken. Not much seasoning for those who hate salt, but plain for those who wish to add hot sauce and seasoning. Kids tenders and waffles: 9 kids will love this 2 big tenders and a half of an adult waffle. Lemon drop: (8) it's no Eddie v's (not as smooth) or Cafe nubia (refreshing/smooth) BUT it is still very good and worth an order. Bread basket: (8) the saving grace is their biscuits. They are soft yet have a crunch to them, it's just one of those things if you have them or order them you'll know. The jalapeño cornbread, uh......it's pretty much jiffy and jalapeños, maybe a bell pepper or two. Not terrible but a let down after you've had the biscuits. Crab cake: (8.5) very good no Eddie V's or vic and Anthony's but still very good All in all, this place is cool if your family made reservations for it or were dying to try it out, but it wouldn't be my first choice. Some of the options other places do a far better job at for cheaper price or if it is more it's done better. Cracker barrel, B&B cafe, breakfast Klub etc....

Food & service was great. Highly recommend the chicken and waffles and add grits for a complete experience!

Yelp
I'm stunned that I haven't written a review for this place as I come all the time. It's best to make a reservation as they are quite busy but the food is very tasty. The shrimp and grits are one of my faves in the city. The ambiance is casual but such a great experience. I bet their patio would be lovely this time of year! Definitely check it out!

Yelp
We decided to have brunch here again and it was truly enjoyable. I decided to give the steak & noodle salad a try and it was rather tasty. Prepared best with a med rare finish IMO, it hit the spot just right. My only complaint is the steak was a bit fatty and I was forced to continually remove pieces of fat with nearly every bite. It also had a bit of a spicy kick but not too bad and was still enjoyable. My palate doesn't allow for extreme spice and this was just right. I wanted something sweet since my meal was so light and gave the bourbon pecan pie a try and what a delight! It came warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side. You could taste the bourbon with every bite....YUMMMMMM! I'd order this again FOR SURE!! I am certain I will dine in again soon as I'm a huge fan of farm to table dining!
