Inside the city’s premier Asian market, the expanded hot counter and bakery turn out roast meats, dumplings, and snacks. The Idaho Statesman reported the food court expansion, adding cultural depth to Boise’s Chinese options.

Terrible Customer Service - Avoid This Place! I bought a box of Napa cabbage from this store for $45.50, and it was terrible—rotting, misshapen, and mostly unusable for making Kimchi. When I went back for a refund, the owner/manager rudely refused, blaming me for cutting the cabbages. She claimed they couldn’t control the quality this season, but as a store, it’s their responsibility to ensure quality. After showing her the poor condition of the produce, she ignored me and walked away, offering no help or apology. Good thing I cut the cabbages in half, or you might have bought them and only realized how bad they were when preparing your meal. The store owner doesn’t care about quality control or customer satisfaction—just selling bad products and refusing responsibility. I paid $45.50 and wasted two 20-mile trips for this. If you value good service and quality, go to Diana Gift & Grocery or any other Asian market. I will NEVER return to this place.

I have missed east coast Asian markets and this is bringing me back to that lovely experience again. Different than this but still, same flavors, same options and a lot of variety. If you need noodles or gyoza or fish, or fresh crabs, or anything amazing related to making fresh Asian flavors, you've got the resources here. The staff were super helpful and nice, and the snacks were plentiful. Also very cute bowls and ceramics! And sake sets. Love it.

I always find unexpected gems here! Some of my best kitchen knives have come from this place. They’re incredibly sharp and only about $10 each. I also picked up some adorable, inexpensive glass dishes that I use for serving sushi. Guests always compliment them! And don’t miss the back of the store. There’s homemade noodles back there that are truly exceptional. Nothing beats a fresh, homemade noodle, let me tell you.

Google
Always fully stocked and if they aren’t, there is always something else you can try with a decent chance of liking! Their bakery section is especially good and stocked even on weekends.

I am in love with this market. They had so much stuff and all reasonably priced too. Where can you find fresh seafood. If you are coming from out of town make sure you bring a cooler and ice. I wish they had this market in Burley/Rupert area. Thank you guys. Everyone was so kind and nice in the store. Will definitely be going back when I can. Get more knowledge on how to make Asian foods as well.

Google
I personally love the place, needs a few items i've been to other Asian store where they have all the polynesian food like pacific corn beef, lamb ribs, lamb neck, and a variety of diffrent chips that we have back home but overall not bad, i would still come here to shop

Google
Great asian store with a good selection of snacks, noodles, vegetables etc. They now have cooked food and bread area. Convenient parking.

Google
Make sure you put emphasis on your questions when you call them on the phone. They are quick to respond, "Yes, we have it !" You don't want to drive all the way to the store only to find out they have actually sold out that particular product for days. It happened to me, and I have learned my lesson . Don't be a victim :) Tell them to go double-check for you before you head over.

Yelp
They had recently advertised that this joint is now serving hot food at their store front now. Of course I had to check it out! I lived in Cali for a few years and at this Asian style markets they had a ton of hot did options. And it was all so good! You can get hella food for a decent price. So potentially having this kind of option here is dope! The food is located in their new expanded area. It's very be vibrant and bright! They have so many Asian style goods there. I did check out the hot food options and it honestly looked questionable. The eggplant dish that they cooked up looked decent but the visual display of the other foods was unappealing. I decided not to try it. As a visual eater, I can get turned off easily. Besides the hot food being disappointing, I was still able to grab some fresh Asian veggies and some ramen noodles. It is a neat joint to grab all your Asian food needs.

Yelp
Terrible Customer Service- Avoid This Place! I recently bought a box of Napa cabbage from this store for $45.50, and I was extremely disappointed. Every cabbage had misshapen cores, and some were even rotting. When I went back to the store to ask for a refund or exchange, the owner/manager rudely refused because I had cut the cabbages in half. I explained that I was just checking to see if any of them were good enough to use for kimchi, and I was willing to use whatever I could, even though I had to throw away most of them. I wasn't trying to make trouble; I was simply trying to find something usable, but every cabbage was in such terrible condition that I left with only two. Do they really think I'm wasting my time cutting cabbages and driving 10 miles back and forth just to get a refund for fun? The owner/manager didn't apologize for selling such poor-quality produce. Instead, she blamed ME for cutting the cabbages, saying they couldn't resell them and that's why they couldn't give me a refund. She claimed they couldn't control the quality of the cabbages this season, but as a store, it's their responsibility to resolve issues when a customer isn't satisfied. That's called customer service. When I showed her how bad the cabbages were, I expected her to take responsibility, but she just ignored me and didn't offer any help. When I pointed out that she hadn't even apologized, she yelled at me, "I apologize! I apologize! But we can't refund it because of our return policy," before walking away and saying, "If you want to stand there, stand there as long as you want!" Good thing I cut them in half, so the owner can't resell them. Otherwise, you might have bought that poor-quality cabbage and only discovered how bad it was when you tried to use it for a meal. The store owner knows that once customers buy a single-wrapped cabbage, they'll likely never come back for a refund, even though they're selling terrible produce! You'd just be wasting your money with an irresponsible, unethical owner who clearly doesn't care about quality control. I paid $45.50 plus the cost of two 20-mile round trips for this, and to be treated this way is beyond frustrating. If you care about quality and proper customer service, go to Diana Gift & Grocery or any other Asian market where you'll actually be treated like a customer. I will NEVER shop here again.

Yelp
Boise finally has a full Asian market. Anything you can think of they carry. It's very clean, the staff are extremely helpful and the prices are very competitive. The vegetable and seafood are very fresh.

Yelp

Yelp
Every weekend, Idaho Capital Asian Market in Boise features Taiwanese style breads and a few other bakery items, from a Taiwanese bakery in City of Industry, CA called I Fu Tang aka IFT Bakery. The original location is in San Gabriel. It took me some serious Internet sleuthing to figure out which bakery it was, because when I asked, I was just shown a screenshot of a website with no identifying information, and everything was written in Chinese. I was also told the bakery was in City of Industry. Man Chen opened the San Gabriel location of I Fu Tang aka IFT Bakery in 1990, after moving to the US from Taiwan. His family is the fourth generation owners of a famous Taiwanese bakery called Yi Fu Tang Bakery that has been open since 1928. Taiwanese breads are softer, moister, rise more, and stay fresh longer than Western style breads due to an Asian baking technique, Tangzhong. But you can apply the same technique to any bread. For those who want to know more, I'll include some information in the comments. Taiwanese spreads are also sweeter than most Western style breads due to the addition of sugar. When I visited Idaho Capital Asian Market on 11/18/23, I bought 4 items: Custard Bread ($2.99) - This is a fluffy, slightly sweet bread with a nice amount of custard in the middle. I liked it, but next time I will heat it up in the oven for a few minutes first. Raisin Bread - ($2.99) - This is a fluffy, slightly sweet bread with raisins. This was my favorite of the three breads. I would have liked it more if it had a few more raisins and/or if the raisins had been more evenly distributed. Most of the raisins are on the surface of the bread. Taro Bread - ($2.99) - This is a fluffy, slightly sweet bread with a little bit of taro paste swirl through the top portion of the bread. The taro flavor is very subtle, but I liked it. Chocolate Swiss Roll ($3.99) - This is a light sponge cake with a subtly flavored whipped cream filling. I like Swiss Rolls, but the flavor in this one was a bit too subtle for me. In addition to having a great variety of Taiwanese style bakery items, ICAM is the best Asian market in Idaho. It rivals some of the much bigger Asian markets that I have visited in other states.

Yelp
Located in a SUPER-CUTE little shopping area with a paifang to welcome everyone, this store is the shiz-ette! They have an impressive variety of Asian groceries of all kinds, from Shaoxing wine to Ochazuke packets, from Bagoong to Gochujang. Being a kanaka implant to Idaho, I was thrilled to find a selection of Hawaiian/local-style groceries. It helped a little with my homesickness. :) Their fresh produce, meats and frozen foods section was amazing and I even (wait for it, y'all) found Fresh. Pig. Blood. In. Idaho. I. Cannot. So if you (like me) need some nori sheets for spam musubi or you (also like me) are craving some matcha Kit Kats or just need some live crabs for dinner in your life, drive out and check this place out. Mahalo nui loa, ICAM!

Yelp
Was visiting from Phoenix and needed some Asian groceries. This place was a great place to shop! Fresh produce and a wonderful selection of frozen foods.

Yelp
I really love coming here. I make frequent trips here, given the large variety of food options. They recently expanded which means even more goodness! Great place to go. It's the biggest Asian market in the area. Plenty of good options, and it's always a pleasant experience coming to this store. Highly recommend if you haven't been in!

Yelp
The market is cold inside they have so much stuff to look at, live crabs to buy so many different things.. I will say if you like dragon fruit buy it at Winco tho at the Asian Market is almost $8 when at Winco is almost $6. My kid got mochi she loves the stuff. She got noodles and sea weed which she loves and some other things like Boba tea in a can. Some of there prices went up. They also have baby Duck eggs and quail eggs. The coffee in a can it went up.. over my daughter loves shopping here. I spent about $70

Yelp
So glad I found this market! Closest to 99 ranch and h mart. It's the biggest Asian grocery store that I have found in the area. Pretty much had everything you'll need and want here. Good produce you won't find elsewhere and also a lot of frozen goods and desserts. Definitely recommend coming here.

Yelp
Ok, not sure what to say about this place. This was my first time there. Never really shopped at an Asian market before. When I lived in Arizona, they built a massive complex with all kinds of Asian restaurants, stores, etc. It was kinda cool. This place here in Boise, they had tons of shops there before it became Boise Asian Marketplace. There was an Irish dance studio there, restaurants, a coffee shop, I believe & then they pushed all them out to make it what it is today. In my honest opinion, I think it was wrong to do that and to the businesses that were there before this. There is ample amounts of space in the Boise area where they could have built an Asian marketplace and made it even bigger and better than where they put it. I don't even know what else is there at the moment other than this grocery store. My roommate went there looking for special teas for Christmas presents for neighbors and whatnot. We left empty handed, but they definitely have a wide variety of teas there. So if tea is your jam...go here! The store is impressive. As mentioned, I had never been to an Asian market before except maybe one or two briefly when I'm visiting back home & in NYC. I can understand why stores like this are important but again, I think they could have built a bigger and better complex for this marketplace in another area where they'd have more room to add more to it. Other than that, I mean this store as mentioned is impressive. They literally have everything when it comes to Asian food lol...I guess they'd have to, huh? It wasn't very busy when I was there, but I'm sure this store thrives. Not much to say about the staff because they did not engage..at. all. Lol. Prices are reasonable. Ok, I guess that's it lol. Probably my shortest review in years! You're welcome hahaha! Thanks for reading, Yelpers! Cheers! 干杯

Yelp
I recently moved here and was worried about finding asian products in the limited grocery stores that they have here in Boise. Took me 2 days to find the market online and then I was off to the market. OMG, okay coming from Texas where there is a large Asian population and they have H Mart, well I was happy when I walked into the "asian market" and it was FILLED with pretty much whatever you want or might want or just want to purchase just incase you may need it later. They have everything from curries, to hotpot packets, sauces, hotpot meats and seafood. Kimchee, Sake's, Asian beers, asian snacks, veggies (I think they bring in their shipments on Friday), seafood, dishes....its a great market considering this is Boise without a HUGE asian population. Prices are decent too, I actually bought alot online from "weee", but now that I found this market, I will go here once a week.

Yelp
Idaho Capital Asian Market is large Asian market in Boise, located in a large plaza with few businesses actually opened. While visiting Boise, my husband and I decided to check out this market just to see what kind of things they have and maybe even pick up some snacks for the rest of our long road trip since we were a long way from home. This market has a similar layout as other Asian markets but that it is nice and clean and not crowded (or at least the time we came, which was on a Sunday morning). The frozen food section is in the back of the store. There are also beverages in the back as well, which is where we ended up purchasing several coconut milk flavored drinks that had lychee or aloe vera in it. We also purchased some fruit based drinks with basil seeds in it (my husband really likes these kind of drinks that have something to chew on). Towards the front of the store is a good selection of baked breads, which includes pineapple buns and in different flavors. I ended up purchasing a few of these but sadly one of them went bad a few days later. So be sure to eat your purchase sooner than later. There is also plenty of snacks and candies in some of the aisles that we went in and considered purchasing some of them but thought it was a little pricey and not worth the price. When we made our way to the register, the employee ringing us up had offered us a box for our purchase since we had purchased 9 beverages in glass bottles. I thought that was nice of her to offer that, in which we accepted that since it would be easier to bring our purchase to the car. Overall, had a good shopping experience and would shop here regularly if I lived in this area. But I do want to mention that this market sells more items that are from both China and Taiwan. If you are looking for items specifically from Japan, for example, then you may need to shop elsewhere (although there are some items from Japan, its just very limited).

Yelp
I love this place. I come here every weekend to get my pastries and Asian snacks. Nice selections of fruits too. Always busy.

Yelp
Hi What is the drug This place is a good place to do stuff and shopping Why do I have to text Angie all this stuff by taking pictures? This is my first professional picture. Trying my best please like it.

Yelp
This grocery store is truly a destination for everyone to checkout! They've expanded their business to offer more creative & delicious items. Every time I visit Boise I genuinely am excited & gitty to shop here. Fresh live crab, frozen seafood, & thinly sliced beef & pork are readily available. Variety of fresh produce & fresh noodles you can't find anywhere else. Frozen pork buns, kimchi wontons, & chicken potstickers are always a hit. Sauces, oils, & vinegar. FYI...they will not kill/clean the live crab 12.00$/lb.

Yelp
They are way lot fresh. We got me a nice beautiful pink bowl with flower. My husband got his white and blue bowl. Got 3 various noodles. I am happy we found me a pork noodle. My husband got a lobster noodle.. We want to come back again. Really way lot better than Ramen noodle. Next time I need add hard boil egg. We got a slice meat also. We dip in our noodles. We never get disappointed. I want try eat their sushi. We only eat sushi once a year. I recommend everyone should check it out. I want to try cold drinks and dessert. I never try tofu yet. I see various kinds of Vegatables and fruits. The cashier is very friendly and figure she from ASIA.

Yelp
My first foray into this Asian foods market was last winter when they were still shaking out in Grand Opening mode so not fully stocked and set up. But even then it felt comfortable shopping here for friendly people who could answer my questions and even went out of their way to ask what I was looking for. And compared to the other big Asian market in town, Trade Viet, the fresh product like produce, seafood and meats looked much fresher here. I say "looked" and not "was" because as a primarily organic and ranch raised consumer I am not likely to buy the fresh product sold in Asian markets that is largely import and mass commercial farm produced. Still, for what it was the fresh produce here seemed fresh and well tended - unilke Trade Viet where produce with visible rot is still set out for sale. With Fall approaching I was reminded to write this review because last year this market had a good deal on Fuyu persimmons which were nice and firm - like this variety of persimmons should be - and had big boxes of them to purchase at under $1.50 / lb. One of my favorite Fall fruits to eat out of hand or in salads and difficult to find in good firm form and tend to be high priced in many standard American food markets. Now a year or so into their lifespan, this market is fully stocked. Originally a Jo-Ann's Fabric store and 14,000SF in size, it has an almost overwhelming array on shelves and freezer cases of processed foods. You can also find almost anything you're looking for as ingredient for Asian foods and cooking including things like dal and spices of India - which many forget is part of the Asian continent - but most spices are packed in really large containers and unless one is doing bulk cooking it is likely those spices are going to lose their oomph before the get used up in a home kitchen. This store provides a shopping option. Even so, if I'm looking specifically for Indian Specialties I might first go to local family run India Foods on Fairview (which is an ahhhh...roma delight of spices when you walk in the door) as first stop. And if I'm shopping specifically for Korean ingredients I might first go to local family run Diana Gift & Groceries which is a Korean specialty store. I'm eager to continue to support those little family run businesses because big stores like this one threaten their livelihood. But when I'm shopping for Chinese, Japanese or South East Asian products, this is the place that is most likely to be my first stop. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/idaho-capital-asian-market-boise?select=b_nnYiPvZQ68tDM4CCOw7Q The market sells housewares and cookware items too. I found an incredible deal on a large granite mortar and pestle at less than half the price of big chain kitchen stores. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/idaho-capital-asian-market-boise?select=1PmALk3EmAGXXF8lfIHG9A ACCESSIBILITY: Level in the door and all one one floor with ample space in aisles. There are a couple of marked "ADA" spaces in the lot but they are not laid out correctly so if you need that kind of parking be aware that this strip mall like maybe 80% in Boise doesn't comply with a now 29 year old parking rule. That is the mall owners' responsibility to fix. OWNERS: Owners of this store and the strip mall are Utah developers who own Asian mall enterprises there. When this market was announced they shared that they hoped to turn the strip mall in which it would be the anchor into one similar to their Utah located enterprise to include Chinese food restaurants and other Asian focused shopping stores.

Yelp
Great selection of goods, especially noodles and chili sauces. I'll be back for sure.

Yelp
LOVE This place. Its an excellent addition to Boise and I love to see they are expanding their footprint. They have a great butcher department, dry goods and vegetables plus they have a bunch of Chinese sausages.... Lino in the meat department is the man, if you have any questions about anything in the store he will hook you up.

Yelp
My heart exploded when I found out there was another one in Boise, location in the city's first Chinatown (that is stretching the name, the place has a way to go...). How did I go so long without knowing of Idaho Capital Asian Market? Probably because it's a fat 30 minutes from my regular store, TradeViet. Anyway, as someone who frequents several Asian grocery stores for various reasons, you can trust me when I say, this place is poppin'! Grab a cart! A basket will not suffice. First thing you'll see when you enter is their large assortment of baked goods, front and center. I immediately snatched a Green Tea Custard Bun ($2.59) and a Strawberry Custard Bun ($2.59). They're not fresh outta the oven so don't expect anything fantastic, however they're still different and tasty. Next, I veered right which takes you straight to the Asian candy aisle. So many choices! All the packages candies are anywhere from $2.99-$7.99, for the more exotic varieties. Head towards the back for a large selection of fruits, vegetables, meats and seafoods that are common in many Asian cuisines. I was delighted to find everything from Squid Tentacles ($9.99) to Frog Legs in Flavor Sauce ($6.99). The snack aisles offered so many different choices, chips of all flavors. I remember seeing Spicy Crayfish, Spicy Crab, Salted Egg, Hot Pot, Miyazaki Fried Chicken, Grilled Squid, among others! Aside from foods, you can also find common Asian cookware and utensils. The biggest impression ICAM left me was the insanely massive selection of goods in each category. I also found many products that I have never seen in any other Asian market in Boise. I want to mention that this Asian store's prices are definitely higher compared to others, I assume due to it's location? Beats me. It's not excessive, but noticeable, at least to my eyes. Unfortunately I got here 30 minutes until closing time and I tend to get very excited when I'm shopping and forget about my phone. But I promise you, this place is such a delight! I, myself, will be back...tomorrow, when I have more time to browse, lol.

Yelp
This is the best and biggest Asian Market in Boise! I often joke that this is my favorite place in Boise... and I'm only kinda joking. I cook a lot of Asian food at home and this place has it all: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai -- any Asian dish that you want to cook, this is your best bet on finding all the ingredients. You can't miss this grocery store with its giant red arch in the parking lot signifying this whole Idaho Asian shopping center that they are starting to build up. When you first walk into the doors, don't forget to check out the bakery goods they have upfront! These baked goods are like what I've seen in all types of Korean, Japanese, and Chinese bakeries. If you haven't tried hotdog bread, I highly suggest you give it a try! It's the perfect snack or small meal to grab and eat on the go. My favorite dessert bread here is the butter roll with cream, need I to say much more? It's what dreams are made of. This is probably the only place in Boise that you can get premium thinly sliced meats for hot pot and Korean BBQ! The Kobe/ Wagyu beef is local from Snake River farms, doesn't get much better than that! I also love getting the thinly sliced lamb meat for hot pot soups! For pork belly, I like to go to the butcher and get really thick slices of that for the grill. The freezer section is really where it's at! All the frozen dumplings your heart could desire, so easy to steam up and there are so many different dumplings to choose from!! There is also a great fresh produce section. The baby bok choy and enoki mushrooms are some of the regular things that I usually pick up here. To treat myself, I love getting Korean pears- they're a little expensive at $8 for 3 but it's so sweet and delicious. The biggest novelty of this store is its selection of Asian snacks. Rare kit kats and childhood favorites like pocky, yan yam, and hi-chew - they have it all!
google avatar

Isaac P.

Yelp
The store is clean, organized, and has friendly staff. There is wide array of foods and products that you cannot find elsewhere, but keep in mind that, being imported, it will be slightly more expensive. This is one of my favorite places to find fun and interesting snacks.

Yelp
So as a Boise transplant, I was immediately on the hunt for a quality Asian market! This is IT! They have red bean buns, which I have been craving since our move! Great pastry selection, huge snack areas full of unique candy and crackers. Pocky varieties, white rabbit candy, hello panda, dried squid and cuttlefish. Shrimp chips! The list goes on! Fantastic frozen section with a variety of Asian products. Thai, Chinese, Japanese, and Vietnamese products line the shelves. What I found really exciting was all of the spices and sauces they carried! Such a wide variety, it will take years to try them all. If your new to cooking they even have a selection of kitchen products! Rice cookers, steamers, and other gadgets, both traditional and modern. They even seem to be expanding to create a bulk and wholesale section! My little one was most excited about the live fish tanks. Squealing at the fresh crabs, lobsters, and clams. Something I really appreciate, to ensure freshness so far from the ocean. We are officially regulars to this market. Great produce, dried, canned, and frozen products.

Yelp
This is the cleanest and brightest lit as well as the most organized Asian market I have been to. The staff is very friendly and they are providing hand sanitizer and requiring masks. If you need that hard to find Asian ingredient dollars to donuts you'll find it here.
google avatar

Lyndsay S.

Yelp
Now that I've been to the other Asian market- I see why Idaho is so excited about this one. It's not Ranch 99 or Seafood City by any means- but at least they have a good stock of ingredients and sauces. And while a small selection- they do have some fresh meats and seafoods and produce. They also get baked goods delivered from SoCal markets. Good selection of freezer items for where we are. Decent prices, and fairly friendly staff. Is it the end all/be all of markets? No. You'll probably have to go to Winco for a couple items- but this place is as close as it seems we've got for the time being. And hey- they have my dog's favorite snack- duck feet.
google avatar

Lindsay D.

Yelp
I LOVE this market! I have not found a better Asian Market in the Boise area. They have a wide selection of items from all over Asia, including hard to find items from China, Japan, and Korea, as well as Hawaiian specialties. Whether it's scallion pancakes, lychee flavored Kit Kat bars, Japanese curry hot pot broth, live blue crabs, or brown sugar boba ice cream bars, they have it! In addition, the owner does a lot to give back to the local community. They made some generous donations of supplies during COVID. They also stocked masks, hand sanitizer, gloves, etc. (at reasonable prices no less) when customers really needed them. Go check it out. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Considering we're in Boise, Idaho, this is a pretty good Asian market. Prices aren't dirt cheap but if you want some Asian groceries, there's a high chance you can find it here. One thing I found interesting is that it had a really balanced inventory between Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Filipino food. There's definitely some Vietnamese options in there as well. I look forward to trying other local Asian markets, but if this is the only good one around, I won't be too beat up since you can find most essentials here.

Yelp
They have a lot of packaged foods (rice, noodles, snacks) but hardly any spices. Fruit and vegetable section wasn't that great (I came on Friday around noon).

Yelp
My last review is still accurate. This is turning into the Asian Market to go to if you are in the arena for these types of groceries. They have increased the number and types of noodles, sauces, produce and preserved sausages and meats. Still a clean market and the help is improving in their aiding customers. Still holding back a 5th star due to the lack of roasted Asian meats, like crispy pork belly, ducks,, etc. A selection of fresh dim sum would be the thing that would be a killer addition. But their frozen selection is much better. Also hope to see them carry fermented, salted fish in the Chinese style.

Yelp
Great selection and clean grocery store! I love that they have fresh baked goods from sweet custard filled breads to savory meat filled breads. One of the biggest selection of frozen dim sum and meat filled buns. I don't think I've tried them all but am going back for more!!!

Yelp
I was looking for rice (because with the current coronavirus situation it's sold out everywhere) and someone on social media suggested an Asian store. I asked Siri to take me to the nearest one, and here I was. What a cool store! It's bright and open and chock-full of all kinds of interesting Asian products. Lay's potato chips in very interesting flavors like avocado and grilled eel. A variety of Kit Kat flavors that aren't sold in American stores like strawberry cream and matcha. Some things though the packaging is all in Asian language characters, so you don't really know what the flavor or item is, you're kind of just going by the pictures. (This is not the store's fault, though maybe they could put labels on the shelves in front of things to clarify?) I'm not an expert in pricing on what these things should cost, though they seemed a little high to me. But then again, the prices are probably no higher than Cost Plus pricing for imported products. I found a big bag of rice that priced out at a little over $1/pound. I thought that was high, but then as I was checking out the girl told me it was sushi rice. So maybe sushi rice is a different quality and should be priced more than regular white rice is. They had so many fun and delicious looking products that would be great for Easter baskets and stocking stuffers. I didn't venture to the produce section or the meat department, but it was there. The produce department looked pretty good size, and the meat department looked to have mostly fish in the case. They also have frozen food cases that I didn't have the time to check out either. Another time! Last thing - they have these individual packaged sweet breads (kind of like Mexican bread) that are about $2 each (over double what Mexican bread costs) but I was hungry and wanted one. I got a buttermilk bread. It was sort of like Hawaiian Roll texture and sweetness - it was very tasty. I mean, if you're going to a coffeehouse you are paying $2+ for a cake pop and $3+ for a muffin, so, when I look at it that way, this delicious pastry was worth it. I will go back and browse some more when I have some time or the occasion to be in that part of town.

Yelp
I really love this Asian market. Most of the Asian markets here in Boise are leaving towards to Vietnamese cousins or but one particular Korean (but this one is very very small) But this one market has lotsChinese, Japanese and Korean grocery items which I love, and they are the good ones. The items I used to get in Asian markets when I was in CA, I can get them here, epecially the frozen sections, many authentic and good (well known Asian brands) frozen food. However the "fresh" meat here are not fresh at all. Bought some pork bones to make soup but they were rotten when I tried to cook them after getting home. (It was a 30°F winter day, couldn't be the heat in my car) I am really glad to see this market here. A bit out of my way but I don't mind to go there to get some "home" food.

Yelp
This review is for Japanese and Hawaiian food. I don't want to repeat what many have already covered here. These reviews have lots of details and covers just about everything you need/want to know. I'm Japanese and I had access to 5-star markets in Los Angeles and Orange County. So, my expectations are kind of high. Had to lower them after moving here, because I know there is not a large Asian population in this area. If anything, that tells me I gotta git up off my duff and learn how to cook more Asian dishes. It's a process and I'm being introduced to new ingredients. So far, been able to locate them here. It's a good sized market and has varied Asian products. Produce selection seems to be limited every time I visit, but I may be going on the wrong days. Again, my go-to's are Japanese and Hawaiian food. One aisle has signage for Japanese items, but it isn't all Japanese. Disappointed with the poor Japanese tea selection - hardly any. I am under the impression, Japanese items don't move fast enough. Many items, normally refrigerated, were located in the freezer section. I did see thinly sliced beef in the low refrigerated area that could be used to make sukiyaki, batayaki (Hawaiian) or Korean BBQ. The meat was not identified as a specific cut, just 'beef'. I went with it and made batayaki, dish came out well. As for Hawaiian items, in the meat area, they sell Redondo portuguese sausage. Mild & Hot, but it's hit and miss. Also saw macadamia chocolate covered nuts, no plain nuts. Was hoping to see lau lau (cooked taro leaves containing kalua pork and salted fish), but alas, no. So, search is still on for Japanese & Hawaiian foods.

Yelp
This is the best Asian market in Idaho. There's always something new to try. It gets busy on Friday for their baked goods but it's worth it!

Yelp
they didn't give me my bag and kept the money after refusing to give me the bag, the cashier was rude, and I hate the place now

Yelp
Great food diversity. Very clean and organized. Fresh vegetables, fresh crab and great variety of frozen food. A lots of Asian snacks. It is bigger than most of the Asian market in town and it is definitely getting more and more stuff coming in.

Yelp
I like this place. The selection is really good, and the prices are a bit high, but still fair. The store is pretty clean, and well organized. The staff are polite, though not friendly.

Yelp
Trying to cook some Vietnamese and Thai dishes after our return from vacation stopped in here today and the store is great. It's clean well stocked. I found everything I needed and I love that the neighborhood is transitioning to a small Asian community with some good restaurants.

Yelp
Still says soft opening but I think they must be past that point by now. The place was very clean although I would say it was under lit. large selection of lots of items and the staff were very friendly.
