Read about them being nominated for a James Beard Award and had to come try.
The cocktails by Edrick Colón were spectacular! We tried the ‘Juniper Paradise’, ‘Vida’, and the ‘Sandia! Sandia! Sandia!’ And all three were delicious!
We ordered the ‘masitas de cerdo’ which were super flavorful, crunchy, meaty and accompanied by a great spicy sauce on the side. The star of the night, however, were their famous ‘Piña Colada Mahi Bao Buns’. Absolutely worth going there for.
The space is quaint, a bit minimalistic (in a good way), and very tasteful.
The ambiance was good, along with the music selection. It got a bit loud for me at the end of our sitting, but that’s to be expected from a small space when it’s full of happy consumers.
I rated them a 4/5 stars in service because the ‘masitas de cerdo’ arrived before we had silverware, napkins or plates - which is a small detail that hopefully gets tweaked but it is a bit of a pet peeve of mine to have hot food in front of me and not being able to dig right in yet. A small attention to detail.
Another thing I really enjoyed is that the place was never so full that you feel like you’re in a can of sardines.
Overall had a great experience and looking forward to going back and working my way through the rest of their menus.
