Idyllwild Brewpub

I wasn’t too impressed with my appetizer and meal, although the portions on the fries was ample. However, the dessert was huge and absolutely delicious! Blondie sundae with whipped cream, honeycomb candy, and vanilla honey drizzle. I’d go back just to have that again. The location is nice. You do have to go up some stairs to get there, but, if you sit outside, you’re right by the trees. Of course, it’s a pub, so there’s still loud music. The service was great at first. They took my order and brought my food very quickly, but once I finished my burger, I had to wait a while before someone came to take my dessert order.

Great food, excellent selection of beer and overall good vibes. When I bring my dog they accommodate him on their outdoor (heated/covered) deck area. Highly recommended.

Amazing food, their smash burgers are insanely good. The service was great and so was the IPA! The deck with fire pits surrounded by the forest is so peaceful and beautiful. 10/10, will definitely be coming back!

Awesome Brewpub situated in the middle of a beautiful mountain town! Take in the pines while sipping on an ice cold beer or delightful fruity beverage from the large outside deck. The service is great, the food is tasty and drinks keep flowing!

Hidden gem! 💎 Very friendly staff and super efficient service. The views are gorgeous!! Impressed with the amount of veggie friendly options they have for a pub. The brussel sprouts and Beyond brat were fantastic. Best part of the meal was the fabulous blondie sundae with DELICIOUS honeycomb candy, so unique and fun! 🍯

We stopped by for the first time for lunch at 1:30 PM on a Thursday. Not very busy, immediate attentive service, good beers, they kindly offered us samples till we found the brew we wanted. The fried avocado was a fantastic appetizer, enough to feed four. The salmon salad could not have been better, the fish and chips were really good. The cod was thick, moist, and fresh. The french fries were fairly normal, but fine. We absolutely cannot be happier with our meal and servers. Look forward to coming back!

First, the pub is located in a beautiful mountain town next to a creek, and surrounded by local incense cedar, must eat outside and enjoy the view. I had their house burger and it was delicous accompanied by tasty fries! Their local IPA paired perfectly!

Excellent selection of entrees and drafts. Today was Buffalo wings and the raspberry blonde, delicious!!! Excellent service and great views, weather permitting, sit on the patio. Also recommend the fish sandwich.

Visited in mid-November for the first time and had a great experience. They were really busy and don't take reservations so it was about at 30 minute wait for the patio and it was around 45 degrees outside however they have enough heaters outside that the jackets came off. The BBQ burger had tons of sauce and was perfectly cooked. I paired it with an Old Fashioned which they made well. I'll definitely be back.

The day after new years we came here and im assuming they don't really cater well to outsiders. As soon as we arrived there was a people already seated and enjoying themselves. A couple was let in by the hostess before us but when they got to us the lady immediately told us they ran out of food? Hmmm strange at 4pm? We got the vibe. It was locals only anybody else you can go somewhere else as she told us there's plenty of other restaurants we can go to instead of there's. Hostess was a horrible liar but it's cool we vote for places with our dollar. This establishment will be shut down in time as people understand customers are not appreciated here.

First time here. It's popular! I was surprised waking in. Got the BIG pretzel. Yum - came with a sweet mustard sauce and a cheese sauce. Got the classic burger and asked for only 1 patty instead of the double smashed patti. It's PLENTY filling. Great burger too. I like how the bun held up even with the sauce smothering the burger. Had the S'more Cheesecake for dessert. Although it looks amazing, the marshmallow layer on top was way too thick and hard, so when we tried to cut into it, it smashed all the way down to the bottom. We had to use our steak knife to cut through it. I wouldn't get it again. Eating a totally smushed cheesecake wasn't good. One thing I didn't particularly like were the dogs. I guess they're allowed. A couple times one would bark real loud - scared me to death. It's just not my favorite thing to be eating amongst peoples dogs at a restaurant. Servers were great and food was brought out quick. Bathroom was clean as well. 3 stalls in women's.

We had such a great time dining here. I ordered the rosé blonde and a citrus salad with salmon. My mom ordered the box Canyon Pilsner, and the Idy burger. Both orders were excellent. We experienced friendly customer service and got to enjoy the beautiful views of Idyllwild. We will be back!

Loved it here, we scored a seat at the bar just before the rush and enjoyed watching the football playoffs. I had a margarita and it was delicious and the burger was very good as well.

Thiiiiis is the spot. Burgers, fries, etc. sounded so good after a hike, and they did not disappoint. I ended up going for the fish and chips--it was pretty much perfect. You really can't go wrong with their menu. Patio is dog-friendly and well shaded. They were packed, but the wait for a table was a lot shorter than anticipated (went from 30 mins to 10 mins). Service is a little slow, but we did go during peak lunch hour over the weekend.

Amazing brewpub well-deserving of its 5 stars. They have a wonderful outdoor seating area. Weather was beautiful while we were here, and it was so enjoyable to enjoy our drinks and dinner outside. They also allow dogs (and have a little doggie menu), so that automatically gives it a step up in my book! The fish and chips are incredible - good portion of fish with crispy breading. Tasty onion rings, too! Delicious cider options. Good selection of draft beers - their flight of beer was a great option to get to try 4 different ones. Great service! Everyone was super friendly and helpful! Highly recommend stopping by for dinner or a drink.

This is a hidden little gem on the edge of town. Super tasty pub food, and a fresh delish salad. Idyllwild IPA was my favorite beer taster! Burger is a YAY! Side salad is a YAY. I wish they would've tossed it though. The dressing was just kinda blobbed in the middle of a flat plate so it was hard to get it all dressed. I will say service was a bit lacking. Food came quick, but not much attentiveness from a server otherwise, so be sure you ask for everything you may need when you order. But it did seem they were a bit understaffed! I still 100% plan to return and give more food and beer a try!

The best place for dinner in Idyllwild!!! Truly one of the best hamburgers I have ever had as well as incredible drinks & overall atmosphere. Our hostess was incredibly sweet & checked in with us often to make sure we had everything we needed. Cannot wait to come back & will be dreaming of the burger until I do!

I've been here twice and I really like it. Super dog friendly, great menu and the staff were very accommodating. The food is really good. I love how many dogs are there. It looks over the river (when it's full). Great beer. Busy on weekends.

Absolutely love the Brewpub and highly recommend it to all locals (if you somehow still haven't tried it) and all visitors of Idyllwild!! We came here after a hot hike as it was seemingly the only restaurant open on Wednesdays in town. We each enjoyed a flight of beers (mostly local brews)! We also enjoyed the Brussels sprouts and a pretzel - all was delicious. Overall the ambiance of the place is what makes it so great - there is ample seating available both indoors and outdoors, with some tables looking out over the woods. There are several TVs, a bar inside, and just overall a lot of space for large groups. The staff were all very friendly and made some good recommendations for beers! We enjoyed our flights and getting a chance to try some new beers. It was the perfect place to kick back after a hike, have something refreshing to drink and grab a few tasty bites! The creek behind the brewpub also has some walking paths along the water if you'd like to go for a post-brew walk. Will absolutely be coming back next time I'm in Idyllwild!

What can I say? I love this place up in the mountains. I was camping at the nearby Idylwild campground and it's a 10 minute walk from there. They have some really good sours and IPAs and it's a great atmosphere lots of people here visiting from the surrounding area, including palm desert. The dog friendly decent although I didn't have any food here. The staff are not as polished as you would expect in a city, but still friendly I enjoyed the beer sampler

Fave spot to visit whenever I'm in Idyllwild. We had drinks and some snacks. The beignets were a miss-came out raw first and then Burnt so we'll skip those for sure next time-but we'll always come back!

The service was okay, the server we got wasn't very attentive. Lovely patio area with the market lighting creating a nice ambiance at night. Food was good, I was craving fish & chips so this meal hit the spot for me.

Saw a review from 3 weeks ago with a picture of their Bavarian pretzel and decided to give it a shot. The menu is clear, Bavarian Pretzel. Well they brought me 2 skating rink, microwaved pretzels, that were the worst pretzels I've ever had because they were over microwaved so the bread got hard. We tried to eat it, but we couldn't. We decided we were not going to order lunch because we now questioned everything. I asked the waiter about the pretzel and this wasn't a Bavarian pretzel. His only response was, we changed a few things on our menu a few weeks ago and these are the pretzels now.. I responded, they weren't good. And his only comment was "sorry". They didn't offer to remove it from the bill or anything. "Check Please". I highly doubt we will return. If your menu says Bavarian Pretzel, and you know you don't serve them anymore, a good server would say something to the customer upon getting the order... Take a look at my picture compared to the pretzel from 3 weeks ago. Horrible!

Loved the view off the balcony. Really friendly staff even though we had a late dinner here near closing time. I had a jalapeño popper burger that was fantastic. Definitely going to come back here next time I'm in Idyllwild!

Kind, efficient service and great food. If you love beer there are plenty of options. Be prepared when it's cool as the space is pretty open air. Bring a dog but only if well-behaved. It's a loud and crowded space.

2.5, place has a nice atmosphere the staff were nice 5 stars to them. The food however is not very good and the beer is beer. They advertise smash burgers however they are not real smash burgers just a regular run of the house bar burger, patty wasn't Caramelized and the inside was pink. That's not a smash burger. Also your better off getting a mixed drink over a beer.

Considering Idyllwild is incredibly dog-friendly (The city's mayor is a Golden Retriever!), we thought we'd have a good experience here too. They've got a beautiful patio with a great view so we were excited to get a patio seat with our dogs. This is a sports bar restaurant with sports playing on multiple TVs so the noise level was fairly loud overall. Unfortunately, we have smaller yappy dogs so they did start barking whenever a dog would walk by. We didn't think much of it since it was a fairly noisy environment however, one of the waiters came by claiming that we received complaints from "a few people" about our dogs barking. I will state that the waiter was very polite and cordial about it, but it still left a bad taste in our mouths. Would people complain about crying babies as well? We didn't want to risk it so we took our dogs to the car while we finished our meal. Our food was ok but was disappointed that there weren't more options on the menu. It's appetizers you'd normally find in a bar, a few salad options but mainly variations on hot dogs, sandwiches, and burgers.

Loved this place! Husband and I were in town for our anniversary and saw this place had TVs to watch the World Series! Of course there was a wait so we wasted time across the lot and got a snack. We missed our call but decided to try back and the hostess was sooo cool and knew we wanted to watch the game and set us up in a table at the bar! We ordered brussel sprouts, wings and a jalapeño burger. A lot of food and plenty of left overs. We spent a good amount of time here and it was worth it! Everyone was friendly

The hostess was extremely nice. The cocktails were "on point". We had a party of 9 and decided to order an array of appetizers and what a great choice we made! Chicken wings (barbecue and buffalo), Cheese curds, pretzel, nachos and chicken tenders. My only and important issue was our server Eddie was either having a bad day or doesn't enjoy his job. We did not feel welcomed or appreciated. Unfortunately this negative aspect over-ruled all the positive aspects. you need to hire personal that convey appreciation and a welcoming demeanor.

We visited this restaurant when we were in town visiting. We were looking for something local and with good reviews and the brewpub did not disappoint. The wait staff was so friendly, even joking around with our 5 year old and having some fun. Something so simple, but makes your visit so much more memorable. The food was good and we enjoyed our beers. Overall it was a pleasant experience and we will return when we are back in town.

Tree lined exterior with a great outdoor patio for dining. Views were excellent while enjoying your meal and drinks. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Everything was clean and well arranged. Burgers were outstanding. Juicy and tender. Side salads (our preference) were crisp and fresh with tasty dressing. They even happily offered a lettuce wrapped burger for Hubby's Jalapeño popper burger. Great find while in our road trip. Looking forward to our next visit

This is a regular stop for family when they visit & the patio is amazing! Covered areas looking through the trees set a relaxing vibe. They are also VERY dog friendly. We were all very excited to get seated right away & enjoy the afternoon. The food menu was very limited (I'm sure there is a reason) but still had good options to choose from. Same with the drink options. We started with a soft pretzel, as you can never go wrong with that. Per usual, soft & salty! We saw a few plates of Brussel Sprout go by & they smelt/looked delicious!! Our waitress was a little hard to communicate with as she seemed overwhelmed & we had to flag her down for service a few times. But finally able to order food. I got the salmon salad. Everything was delicious from the sauces to the cook of the salmon, although they put the onions on when I asked for none, i was able to pick them off. (Turns out they gave me the wrong plate). Other food we ordered were chicken nachos, looked great, but little to no flavor. Also, we got a burger with truffle fries. The burger was cooked great & some of the best fries! All in all I think this is a great place to hang out for drinks on a nice day, but I would have to try more of the menu to suggest as a good lunch stop.

Everything on the food menu is yummy. And the beer selection has an option for the non beer drinkers like me and beer connoisseurs like Husband. The staff is always warm and welcoming. It's one of our go to places when we are in town.

Nice place. Lots of outdoor seating. Great if you have a dog. It was too cold when I came to sit outside but I saw a lot of people out there. We had the classic burger and it was great. The citrus avocado salad was amazing. I thought $15 for a salad! But it was actually a much better salad than I expected. The beer selection is also great. Got a German lager that was to die for.

First time going to Idyllwild Brew. If you don't like stairs or heights this might not be the place for you. I didn't see any other way to get in. We got greeted right away and we chose to sit outside, was way cooler with a breeze. She brought us water right away after seating us.The place looked very clean and looks like it gets busy on occasions. The service lacked as we had time to read the menu and look on yelp for reviews. Then finally someone noticed us after taking care of others that arrived after us. We got a beer flight what I had I liked. They could make the card easier to read, the writing was sloppy. The wings are definitely a go to on the menu. The pretzel was warm and my wife liked the dipping sauce.

What a great place for a day time meal tucked off the main street. It was a hot day so sitting on the outdoor patio was perfect. Great view and service. We four arrived at lunch time and were seated right away Friends had the fish and chips (they raved about it), a fish sandwich (also raved about) and I got the tri tip wedge. The tri tip was okay. It was thin sliced and a bit dry for me. Parking is available up top (stairs down) as well as parking below (stairs up). Pick your poison. I'd love to come back.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was definitely the place to be. We waited for 15-20 minutes for a table for 7, which wasn't bad at all. We sat outside on the patio, which was perfect with the weather being so nice. Quite a few fur babies on the patio, so safe to say this establishment is dog friendly. Food, service & beer were good.

Marissa was so friendly and helpful with the menu letting me what was the best choices! The fish and chips were to die for delicious! I had the Bobs American lager it was the perfect blonde. Then I had the German Sunny's Surprise also tasty. We sat on the patio in the shade with a great view.

I have eaten here before last time just a burger and fries at the bar on the busiest day of the year when the Christmas trees were being lit up! The manager is super friendly and very polite he is concerned about the dining experience very considerate and a conscientiousness manager So Saturday May 4th 2024 had to sit on the patio with my service dog ‍ she got a puppy patty high quality beef for $6 she was happy I got a rack of BBQ ribs which one half was perfectly cooked tender fall of the bone tasty the other half not so much plus fries and coleslaw it was delicious Be aware they allow 6 dogs at a time on the patio so make sure other not so friendly dogs keep their distance especially those dam pit bulls. My 16 year old terrier was viciously attacked by the dog at the next table which made the experience pretty traumatic for us. She should be ok one puncture wound on her neck it's healing up no bleeding anymore. If dogs fight all parties have to vacate the restaurant Mine was attacked she was the victim just be aware of the surrounding area if you bring your fur baby with you. Lady Lou is also a trained service dog so I should have sat inside and the attack would not have happened. I know shoulda coulda woulda Would have been 5 stars if the hostess had not set us next to a pit bull her mistake don't think she will do that again

Great service, alcohol selection, and food. It is definitely a vibe. Tons of dogs on the patio and people enjoying their meals with their furry friends. Inside lighting is very cool. I like that you can order a drink at the bar and then just go sit on the outside patio which overlooks the amazing view of trees, animals and outdoors. We will be back. Thanks for an amazing time.

I'm giving it two stars ** the jalapeño popper burger was good. The service was awful, our server was not attentive but the hostess was awesome. I think the only thing that ruined our experience was a couple fighting behind us and their food almost hit my friend. Lol Good food but be prepared to wait a long time for food and drinks and of course the bill. lol Hope to get better service next time

This is a great place to visit when around town !! Cozy mountain vibes and just a fun environment with very good food and also great staff. The wait time can be decent around dinner time/ weekends but they do their best. They also have incredible breakfast !!

My experience here at lunch yesterday (Tuesday) was a solid 5 stars. Apparently I came here on Taproom Tuesday. Since Tuesday is their slowest day, they only offer four choices. 3 of the choices had minimal interest to me. However, the vegan chili was calling my name. Vegan House Stout Chili A cup of our signature 4-bean chili made with our Feedbag Stout and Beyond Beef, served with tomatoes and scallions $8.00 This dish was amazing. Hard to believe there was no meat. The meat tasted like real beef in chili. The seasoning was perfect. I expected some bland vegan chili, was quite surprised to get this. The tomatoes were apparently roasted. They were delicious. I will definitely be ordering this dish again. MINT JULEP - SPECIALTY COCKTAIL $12.00 I never expected a drink this good. It was a strong pour; the flavors were insane. I planned on having just one. Wound up having two. If I were not driving, I would have had 3. Maybe the best mint julep of my life. Great outdoor patio if you have a dog. My English Bulldog loved the patio. Since I now have a home in Pine Cove I shall return here often. While they have a 4-star rating on Yelp my experience here was a solid 5 stars.

It's not an Idlewild trip without some booze in the woods! Service: Came on a weekend & we were seated quick. Maybe it was a bad day but our waitress was no-where to be found when we needed her. So we had to flag down other staff to help us get more napkins and refills. Ambiance: Family friendly spot! There's outdoor and indoor seating. I personally liked outdoor seating, you get more of the nice vibe of eating with a view. Food: Food was pretty decent! My partner and I got a burger with fries. But we also ordered an appetizer of chicken wings... I MUST ADVISE to order that!! Their sauces were heavily flavored and the chicken inside was moist and fell right off the bone!

We were seated at another restaurant when the power went out. We waited for 15 mins and were told the pinky place in town with power would be the brewpub as they have a massive generator. So, we came here! The staff is great, the food was excellent especially the wings, and the drinks were on point! Been here many times but this was a cool experience to say the least! Surely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

Music, food and service were excellent. Expensive, but the fish and chips lasted two meals, excellent.

We arrived in Idyllwild a little past 8PM and as many have mentioned, places close early in Idyllwild. Luckily, the Brewpub was still open and we were quickly seated with our pup. Service was great! They even have a menu item for dogs. The beer selection was decent and the food was really good. Plenty of parking. The outdoor fires were the perfect ambiance on a chilly night overlooking the pine trees..."in the pines, in the pines" Definitely recommend their beignets, crispy, chewy, they know how to deep fry.

We went to Idyllwild and loved it here so much we came twice! The food was delicious! We especially loved the sauce with the fried pickles! The buffalo cauliflower and buffalo wings were mouthwatering good! We loved sitting outside and enjoying the scenic view, there is a creek you can go play in afterwards, it was so pretty!! Great photo opp! The service was very good, both times we went we found the staff very attentive, friendly and professional! We will definitely come here again next time we visit Idyllwild!

Stopped here because our friends found this cute little town on a road trip to LA! So it came highly recommended. Came during lunch time and it wasn't packed at all. Fast service, delicious food and yummy beers! The town is super cute as well to walk around in!

This is one of the best spots to get food, whether it's lunch or dinner while visiting Idyllwild. They have a great selection of drinks which range from beer, mixed drinks, and wine. The menu is very diverse and provides great flavor for a respectable price. The service can get a little hectic as it's one of the best places to eat so be mindful of the hard-working staff. I came here during the winter, so it was very cold, but they provided heaters and covered seating so it made it very comfortable. Highly recommend this location if you're here on a date or with Family.

Overall, our first experience with Idyllwild Brewpub was good, but with an exception. I don't know if the servers were short staffed, but we had to ask our server multiple times for various things (refills, tartar sauce that was requested when the meal was ordered, napkins, utensils, etc.). It was busy, but it wasn't like there was a line out the door either. The ambiance was great and we would like to go back in the fall to sit outside because the outside seating area is nice. All of the food was excellent and their German lager was good. They also have liquor for those that don't like beer, and I was pleasantly surprised they carried Barrell Craft bourbons. The lackluster service wouldn't prevent me from going back because I believe in giving a business another chance especially when everything else was good. You know, we all have our off days.

I'm giving this review based on service. It was my first time coming to this place and my experience was not what I thought it was going to be. The food was very good! I ordered the pork pozole and it was delicious but our server made the time being there dreadful. She came off as "sarcastically friendly" and I feel like service nowadays sucks! everywhere you go they all have the same attitude. it really threw me off, service is a big part and i feel like this place just lacked it. if you want to order from here just do take out. I won't be returning.

Two words: YUM-MEEEEEEE!!! The end and period!!! The wings are delicious. Got mine dry with sauce on the side. The ranch/bleu cheese was delicious. The truffle fries were good. My dining partner LOVED the drinks. He said they have a strong poor. I wimped out and went for iced tea. He ordered the Jalapeño Popper burger. He finished half. That burger has a burger patty sized jalapeño popper on it BUT it has a cream on it which ruined the burger for him. Otherwise a 10 for a Saturday afternoon!!!

These 5 stars are for the ambiance alone. Loved everything about this brewery. Nature, music, comfy seats and the best view. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Drinks, food, snacks, desserts and more. They also have a newer Tiki Tuesday menu with pretzels, burgers and chili. Check out the beer flights too! You can sample 4 different kinds of beers and support local businesses. They own their own wells for fresh mountain spring water, offer a full craft drink menu with fresh fruit ingredients and have about 22 beers on tap. Enjoy!
