Where to Nosh on Jewish Food in San Francisco and the East Bay

"Igor “Iggy” Teplitsky first hit the San Francisco food scene with his Borsch Mobile food truck, but now they’ve taken over the former Cassava space in the Outer Richmond in fall 2023. Matzo ball soup, latkes with spiced apple jam and sour cream, and, depending on how wide you cast the net, BEC breakfast sandwiches and blintzes grace this sleeper Jewish food hit." - Eater Staff

San Francisco’s New Restaurant Openings - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Iggy’s Place is a sandwich spot running out of Wine Bar By Cassava in the Richmond by the Borsch Mobile team. Alongside their long list of sandwiches, like a cold-cut-style beef tongue, a house club, and a sandwich stuffed with sardines, they also serve borsch and matzo ball soup. " - Ricky Rodriguez

Stopped by here during Outside Lands weekend since the AirBnB was a few blocks away. Best decision ever. Everyone loved the food. Igor and Anna are super welcoming, they came to the table multiple times to ask how everything is tasting. And the best part of our visit, the amazing customer service by Gabby. Always with a smile and has so much bright energy. I definitely will be back when I return to SF.

Google
The best latkes I've ever had (not that I'm a connoisseur), and maybe the best restaurant coffee I've had in SF. Tasted like fresh pour over even though it was premade drip out of a carafe. Orange juice extremely fresh. Bright cozy interior, super friendly staff. Some nice smooth jazz on the speakers too.

Google
Delicious food and tasted super fresh. Latkes and eggs Benedict especially stood out. One of the best brunch spots in town!

Google
Had a delicious brunch here on a rare 85° day in the Richmond! Great food and wonderful service from the owners!

Google
A hidden gem!! Delicious food. Very friendly people. Get the Brisket Benedict or the Hallah French Toast!

Google
Latkes were delicious, sunny side up eggs cooked to perfection. I will definitely come back to try their sandwiches.

Came in for lunch with my dad. I ordered the turkey sandwich and my dad asked if they have anything with salmon. The owner said they don’t but kindly offered to custom make something for him, which my dad gladly accepted. Both sandwiches were excellent and the service was superb too. Highly recommend.

Google
First time here, it was so lovely. We got latkes to start, I ordered the turkey cranberry * matzo ball soup sandwich combo. My friend ordered a breakfast sandwich and loved it! The woman running the place (I assume an owner) was so sweet and attentive. 10/10 would go back

Yelp
I went to this quaint little shop months ago and didn't expect much. I noticed they had a beef tongue sandwich on their menu so I got that. It was cold, refreshing and impressively tender. If it weren't for the veggies and bread, I probably didn't even have to chew. Speaking of bread, their buns are super fresh, as are the rest of their ingredients. I've since tried all their sandwiches and they're all amazing. However, the beef tongue will always be my favorite. I can't find anything like it at other shops so I hope this place is here forever.

Yelp
Cute place. The waitstaff is earnest and helpful. I was disappointed with the food - the brisket was soo tough and stringy. Having just come back from Austin, I had some great brisket. This was the polar opposite - it was overbooked flavorless beef. The latkes were not at all crispy - more soft and not hot. Kind of just limp and tasteless - couldn't taste any onions. I am not sure why the high ratings? This would be a two star in NYC at best.

Yelp
Enjoyed everything we had at brunch (French toast, roast pork sandwich). Mimosa was made with fresh squeezed OJ, a nice touch. Service was great. Really glad this option exists in the neighborhood. (No hidden fees, and the tip suggestions are calculated on the pretax amount--I really appreciate this kind of honesty from restaurants.)

Yelp
Such a great, casual brunch or lunch spot in the area! We were coming out of the Legion of Honor museum and finishing up a Lands End Hike when we discovered this place nearby. We enjoyed every dish we tried. The cuisine seems to be Eastern European inspired and every dish features high quality ingredients and generous portions. You will not leave this place hungry! There's outdoor and indoor seating options and the service is friendly and fast. We were very pleased. Thanks for the great meal!

Yelp
Stopped in here for lunch after my brother had breakfast here last week. The safe is so kind and most importantly the food is excellent. They use Rize up bread in their sandwiches, which totally elevates the food. (Rize up is a local, black owned bakery that was born during the pandemic). I love how they are using local. Anywho- the food is light, options endless, outdoor and indoor seating and you can have a variety of things. Can't say I have had one bad item here! They also accommodate modifications to your Sammies. Stop in here for a great locally made and owned meal. Metered street parking when I went around 1330 in the afternoon was ample.

Yelp
The hostess and server were so sweet and were always cheerful when talking to us. The food was amazing, comforting and just all around delicious. Their ingredients also tasted very fresh and made with care. We got the corned beef hash with jalapeño cilantro sauce on top. For snackies we got the latkes, which are potato pancakes and came with two sauces. Definitely try this place for brunch on Balboa if you like warm and fresh brekky on a heated outdoor patio!

Yelp
First, the service is outstanding. The ambiance was very pleasant and charming. Very clean and seating is very limited. It is a quintessential neighborhood small restaurant. The food was pretty good. We thought the food was overall very good. To nitpick: there was one huge lonely matzo ball, and it was a little cold in the middle. The borscht was so small it was just a sampler. The meatballs were terrific and the chicken schnitzel was amazing. The chocolate cake was a little dry, but was amazing. Overall a terrific place, but be prepared to pay some bucks for the experience.

Yelp
Saw great reviews for this place and today I found out why. The sandwich I ordered was fantastic in terms of taste, construction, and textures. The Italian: A I grew up eating a lot of mortadella sandwiches so this definitely hit the spot. It's salty but balances out quite well with the mozzarella, lettuce, and tomato. The sesame bread they used is soft and easy to bite into. And they have a mayo/sauce that tastes very delicious. I ordered online and it was ready in 10 minutes as promised. $19 for a sandwich after tax is a bit pricey but you're paying for quality here and they met my expectations.

Yelp
This place is great. Believe the reviews. The perfect spot for brunch or an early lunch before you head off to walk Great Hwy on the weekend. They have lots of indoor and outdoor seating options, with a bathroom insights. Tons of natural light. There are two sections outside. There are smaller tables against the restaurant (in the shade) and a patio area on the street (in the sun). Everyone here is incredibly friendly, so don't be shy to ask what's good. They get their bread fresh, and we especially love their sesame bread

Yelp
Instantly was greeted by a nice lady! We sat outside and it was a cute vibe. Unique tasty sandwiches. We enjoyed the house club sandwich & the breakfast sandwich. Both were very filling and good but did feel they could have better sauce or more sauce. I would recommend this place and would come back again!

Yelp
Probs take my review with a grain of salt - I got the sardine sandwich, borsch, and it was a delivery order. I'll say that I really liked the sardine sandwich. It had good flavor and loved being able to see all the components (sardine, pickles, eggs, red onions, and lettuce). Would be open to coming here for their brisket sandwich or other sandwiches. As for the borsch, I was let down because it didn't have any punchy flavor of dill or pork butt and had - what I would say - a disproportionate amount of cabbage/shredded carrots. My ranking of borscht in SF = (1) Cinderella Bakery, (2) Leleka...I wouldn't put this one on the list/get it again.

Yelp
Great brunch spot on the Balboa corridor. Happy to have this spot nearby! High quality ingredients make for a delicious food experience. A lot of homemade ingredients with a fresh Ukrainian twist like Borscht and Kvas. We love the French toast - it's fluffy and moist with a hint of orange. Topped with fresh fruit, maple syrup and house made whipped cream. The bacon, sausage and latkes here are also hearty and worth the trip! Highly recommended

Yelp
Cute neighborhood breakfast spot. Not crowded on a Friday morning. If you're not into poached eggs, they will make it scrambled. The jalapeño sauce is delicious! I only tried the corned beef hash today and it did not disappoint. I'm excited to come back and try the French Toast. Plenty of meter parking and if you're willing to walk just a few blocks, lots of residential parking too! The toilet paper in their restroom is the good stuff.

Yelp
We decided to check this place out based on all the high reviews and little did we know it was under new management and new menu that expanded into brunch AND dinner Thursday nights with live bands!!! Too bad it was Saturday around 1:30p. Hee. Nevertheless, my Boyfriend got a meaty pulled pork sandwich. He real enjoyed, but he said the sandwich had too much meat for his liking. Yet, he said it was very juicy and tender! The French toast was PERFECT! the crème on top was delicious and tasted freshly made and there were so many berries I ran out of bread to eat with all the berries! Hahaha I also LOVED their mild roast HOUSE COFFEE! I'm super picky and don't like dark roast coffee, yet I know it's easier for restaurants to order French/dark roast coffees, I just add water and sugar to them! Hahaha I favor my mild roast coffee black and their coffee was PERFECT! It had a bit of a zing/tangy flavor to the coffee and that paired perfectly with my French toast !!! The server was incredibly helpfully and friendly. A college aged young lady and then an older lady and gentleman gave us our lunch and coffee. Extremely friendly and sweet! The lady told us how they bought this place back in October and started changing/adding new menu items! Great ideas!!!! I'm a HUGE FAN of this place and want to check out their $18 crab cake on a Thursday night with their live music!

Yelp
The ambiance was very laid back (Michael Bublé played in the background for one song) and the service was direct and friendly. Pay at the counter and they serve you at the table. Pork Belly Sandwich Hot, tender pork belly in a sesame crusted sandwich bread. The sauces create the right balance of flavors. Delicious but messy. Get extra napkins for sure. The Classic Very good. So enjoyable. The latkes are so soft. Matzo Ball Soup Fantastic. The matzo ball is so soft too. Easy to eat and deep with flavor.

Yelp
3.75 Don't be fooled by the sign outside. Once Cassava is now Iggy's Place. This neighborhood breakfast joint was the perfect place to satisfy my hunger. It looked like the owner was training a very young girl to manage the cashier while a young boy served me my food. Very wholesome to see these young kids working and learning skills that will benefit them in the future. I had the latke with Italian sausage and scrambled eggs. You can't mess up scrambled eggs. The Italian sausage was really good; had lots of flavor and cooked perfectly. The latke was a little disappointing as it was crispy, the inside was kind mushy. Great service.

Yelp
What Iggy's Place lacks in unique cuisine, they make up for with a charming laidback space and friendly service. It's a lovely place to be on a weekend morning, but unfortunately the food wouldn't make me go out of my way to eat there a second time. The Arugula Salad was fine but ranks very low when given the "could I make this at home?" test. There is no unique chemistry to the ingredients and there's no reason I couldn't make something equally good at home by tossing the same exact fixings in a Crow Canyon bowl. Plus, I can't say I like the trend of defaulting to dressing on the side. I totally understand it as an option, but why shouldn't the default be having our meals prepared so they're ready to be eaten? All told, I left feeling satisfied but with no inclination to return.

Yelp
What's hella scary looking but bomb? Cow/beef tongue. Boiled, stewed, grilled, bbq'd, pan-fried, smoked, in a headcheese...I haven't met a preparation that I haven't liked. I know it's freakishly crazy looking but it's so deliciously beefy and tender. And, before you yuck someone's yum....it's probably cleaner than some people's mouffs. Just sayin'. Iggy's Place had me at Beef Tongue Sandwich! They may be the only sandwich shop in the city serving it (not sure if Seakor makes one with their beef tongue headcheese?). Last winter, the owners of Borscht Mobile (Russian and Ukrainian food truck) opened their brick & mortar: Iggy's Place at the former Cassava/Cassava Wine Bar space. They're open for takeout, delivery, indoor, and dog-friendly outdoor seating. Visited on a weekday before a nearby medical appointment. They're fast and efficient so a great option if you're on a time crunch. M E N U Modern Eastern European Sandwiches along with their signature borsch and matzo ball soup, and salads. They also have breakfast sandwiches available on day. On weekdays, they have salad, soup, and sandwich combos. For weekend brunch, they have BYOB for $10. F O O D: * Beef Tongue Sandwich w/ cold cut beef tongue, balsamic reduced onion, arugula, tomatoes, garlic+sriarcha aioli, rize up seeded hoagie ($18) // 3.5 stars: https://tinyurl.com/4enp2fwk I love beef tongue so I was hyped for this. A well-stacked sandwich made with quality ingredients including SF based Rize Up's semolina hoagie roll studded with sesame seeds. I'm a fan of Rize Up's bread but the hoagie was a bit tough so I wish they toasted it for an enhanced texture and flavor. The cold cuts of beef tongue were on the dry side and didn't have much flavor. The balsamic reduced onions helped but IMO, it needed more punch/acid to cut through the marbling of congealed fat. This is where in between bites of the tangy slaw came in clutch. Don't get me wrong, it was a fine sandwich but I think my expectations were a little too high given the raving reviews. * Coleslaw ($6) // 4 stars Standard coleslaw mix dressed in a mayo-vinaigrette giving it a nice tang and slight creaminess. Maybe they can consider adding a little something like dill, caraway seed, or even horseradish to make it stand out? S E R V I C E Friendly and fast! Order and pay at the counter, and your order will be brought to you. Always appreciate the efficiency. A M B I A N C E Cute and cozy dining area with several tables and window counter seats. There's sidewalk tables and an awesome parklet with animal murals. P A R K I N G Metered and residential parking. Can be quite challenging on the weekends. Overall, I don't often trek to Outer Richmond but I do know they don't have many options for craft sandwiches so Iggy's Place is a welcome addition to the area!

Yelp
Their speciality is their meats. From the chicken sausage paired with the latkes to the brisket in the sandwich, they were all well-flavored, juicy, and downright delicious. I was a little confused at the ordering process as we were seated by one person and then told to order inside at the counter after a while. After ordering, service was quick, and the food was served piping hot. Prices were also reasonable for the quality. Would definitely come again and want to try other sandwiches and soups.

Yelp
My friend Tammy lives in this neighborhood and saw this new business and suggested we check it out for lunch. We were looking at the menu outside when a friendly lady came out and proudly started telling us about her new place (6 months new). The menu looked good and, honestly, because she was so friendly and excited, we stepped in. Guests order at the counter and then the servers bring the meal to you. We split the latkes, because, yum! And I had the Buffalo mozzarella veggie sandwich on the delish Rize Up bread. It was good, but I would have liked more seasoning and balsamic. The second half of my sandwich had more goodies and was better. Good idea to better evenly distribute the ingredients. Tam had the chopped salad and she said it was a delish as it looked! And we both loved the latkes--served with sour cream and apple sauce traditional-like. I love how thinly they shaved the potatoes and loved this dish--with the addition of a bit more sodium bicarbonate! The cherry on top was the service. Everyone was incredibly nice and welcoming. Great find! I'm sure, since Tammy lives in the area, we will be back!

Yelp
Honestly pretty disappointing. Was excited to try the place out since checking out their menu last time and seeing delicious sounding sandwiches. I think the restaurant still needs more polishing and better management. It's walk up service but set up like a fast casual restaurant yet you still have to go to the register to pay. I came on an early dinner during a weekday and the person at the register who appeared to be the manager called over to the one waiter who happened to be busy with a table to seat me rather than helping me find a table or just having me seat myself. The same person also did this when I walked up to pay after my meal as they were "busy" with something as I stood there in front of them for a minute while they did their thing. There was only one waitperson but it's a real tiny place and there's only about 8 tops total. The waiter also seemed new/inexperienced as they put a full sandwich instead of the soup and half sandwich I ordered. I didn't want to bother waving down the somehow super busy staff to clarify, also the sandwich was pretty tiny so I thought it was a "half" that was cut in two. Despite the raving reviews and delicious looking pictures, the food didn't really hit the mark either. The pork belly was crusted well but not that tender nor very flavorful. Most of the flavor was on the outside and it was mostly just sweet with some umami, the aioli was also pretty standard with very little spice or any particular identifiable flavor profile. It was just an average sandwich "upscaled" in execution (and as a result, size). I have a soft spot for matzo ball soup and despite being pretty easy to make, it can be a bit tedious so I don't like doing it all the time. Theirs tasted like campbell's style canned or bouillion chicken soup with a bland matzo that had no flavor to it. Even stranger, the carrots had a strange slight tang to them despite being tender, almost like they were fermented. Overall, I had a strange experience and won't be rushing back for the food. Shame because it looked to be so promising.

Yelp
I was tongue tied when looking at the menu at Iggy's . I wanted that Chicken Matzo Soup and I was drooling over it but the weather had other plans. The hot Summer day in San Francisco is a time to avoid the heat or bake in it. So the next time on a colder foggy day in San Francisco ( coming sooner than later) I will try the Chicken Matzo Soup because it's one of my favorite soups. On this hot day the menu spoke to me in tongues so I had to try the cold cut style beef tongue sandwich. I was infatuated about having beef. Growing up in the Mission beef tongue was a common dish and it spoke my food language at the local taquerias as a taco or served at home . I later went to people homes from all regions of Asia, Latin America and Europe who had some kind of tongue beef dishes. It was good to see Iggy's offered it on their menu on a hoagie. Since I am try-lingual ( trilingual) I had to order it. At first bite the beef tongue was so tender it was like a soft mortadella texture and not gamey. The garlic and sriracha aioli and the balsamic onion on the hoagie gave it a juicy tasty flavor impact. I am coming back for the other sandwiches. Iggy's also has breakfast sandwiches , latkes and a good selection of champagne, craft beers , mimosas, kvass, and red wines. My roll of the tongue with the tongue on a hoagie roll If you know you know if you don't know I suggest you go on Balboa street ( Not Balboa Park ) to Iggy's Place on a Summer Stroll

Yelp
Beef tongue sandwich needs a kick, I would marinate it in herbs oil garlic vinegar and lots of black pepper jalapeño perhaps onions. Pressed panini style.

Yelp
I have tried Iggy's Place on Balboa for a while, but this time, I finally gave their brunch a try. I've always come here for their sandwiches, especially the roast pork and beef tongue, but finding out they do brunch made me curious to check it out. Their sandwiches were great so it was a no brainer for me to try again. We ordered the French Toast and the Beef Hash. The portions were huge, to the point where my kid and I only managed to get through about a third each. If I'm being honest, we could have just ordered what my kid wanted from the start which was the French Toast. It came loaded with fresh berries, whipped cream, and syrup. The toast itself was thick and perfectly grilled with a nice crunch on the outside and soft on the inside. It's easily a dish we'll come back for. The hash was also solid. It was served with a jalapeño sauce that added flavor without being too spicy. The meat was tender for the most part, just a few pieces were a bit tougher to chew cause of the fat. The eggs on top were done right, giving the dish a creamy touch. My kid enjoyed the potatoes, but only when they dodged the sauce. One thing I appreciate about Iggy's is their friendly service. You order at the counter, and the staff was accommodating the whole way. They even gave us takeout boxes and a bag when we realized we couldn't finish everything. The indoor dining space was comfortable with big windows letting in lots of natural light. At one point, a bee got confused trying to get out through the glass because it was that clear. I gotta say, I miss Cassava, but Iggy's brunch helped fill that void pretty nicely. I'll definitely be back to explore more of their menu soon. The portions are big and the price reflects that accurately. I do recommend maybe the pair down the size and price to attract more people to come.

Yelp
If the breakfast sandwich at Iggy's were a movie, it could win an Oscar and all the ingredients would be nominated in their categories. The romantic lead must be the roast pork, mildly seasoned with "Middle Eastern ingredients," the man behind the counter said. Za'atar? Harissa? You got me. The love interest would be the eggs, lightly stirred and perfectly rendered. The wise 3rd party who keeps their relationship together would be the Rize Up Sourdough, a find in itself, perfectly toasted, soft in parts and crunchy in others. Arugula, tomato, red onion, and aioli round out the cast and each one hits a note of perfection. I'm only sad because I'm too full to eat another one right now. Not that it matters but the service is super-professional. They could throw the food at me from a passing Segway and I'd be back. Both the man who took my order and brought it out to me, and the owner Anna, checked in to see how things were. Why is it that when there's a problem no one checks, and when things are perfect, someone asks? (I know why). Also great ambiance, a quiet table outside on a beautiful spring day in our city. Some vintage easy soft jazz on the speakers, the song that played as I downed the last bite was Johnny Mathis' "Stairway to the Stars." He grew up just blocks from Iggy's. Coincidence, or just a perfect harmonic convergence? Go get an Iggy's breakfast sando and you be the judge.

Yelp
We were playing a round of golf at a nearby course, and craving sandwiches. Did a quick Yelp search and saw this new sandwich spot was nearby and decided to give it a try. We got two sandwiches and a pulled pork pastry. I went with the brisket sandwich which was a special that day. I think the sandwich has a lot of potential, but the beef was a tad dry. It needed more of a sauce or something to make it juicer. The garlic aioli was tasty and the fresh arugula complimented the sandwich really well. I'm not a big fan of seeded bread but it was still tasty. The sandwich itself was big enough for two meals, and perfect for a golf course sandwich. The pulled pork pastry had the same issue, meat didn't have much flavor and felt like it was missing a sauce. My partner got the Roast Pork sandwich and this one grew on us after a few bites. I think if you like things on the sweeter side, this would be a good sandwich to try. For me, I wish it had some spice factor but that's just my personal preference. We hopped on their website and ordered pickup, and everything was ready in 15-20 minutes, which was perfect because we were running a little late to our tee time. Overall, I think they do a really good job with their sandwiches and would order again if I was in the area. I used to work in this area years back, and it's one of the better delis I've tried in the Outer Richmond.

Yelp
Dog friendly with nice outdoor seating options, friendly service. The pork belly sandwich changed my life, get that.

Yelp
We've walked by Iggys a few times and finally stopped over to order take out. We got a beef tongue and house club sandwiches. $18 for two ginormous sandwiches. We could only finish half. My house club is stuffed with veggies and meat. The garlic aioli made the who thing taste good. I like how they used Rize Up sesame hoagies for the bread. It is good. Service was friendly. Wait wasn't long. Restaurant in the former cassava space. It is clean.

Yelp
What a great Sandwich spot located at the Outer Richmond. The place was clean, server was pleasant and order came out lighting quick. What else can you ask for? I ordered their holiday sandwich, the beef brisket. Although the menu said it had horseradish, being it an extra chilly SF morning, I thought of that sinus stinging sensation was called for, but it didn't not while eating this. It was packed with meat, arugula and that pleasant taste of horseradish without the burn. A+

Yelp
It's NO (B) IGGY where to go for lunch when in outer Richmond district SF! Joined my foodie friend Melinda on her recent partnership & we enjoyed a beautiful lunch date with a whole meal. I got the cold beef tongue Sammy, the chicken soup, and the apple turnovers! Omg , the creamy sauce, tenderly fresh beef tongue, crispy arugula, sweet tomatoes just hit the spot! The apple turnovers were a little sour though tbh, but I did love the latkes Aalllllatkesss! Thanks Iggy's for the yummy treat this holiday season!

Yelp
We visited Iggys for the first time this weekend. We went for dinner. Had a very lovely meal. I had the short ribs with mashed potatoes. Absolutely Devine. My spouse had the turkey meatballs with kasha. Very nice. We didn't realize that you can't get latkes at dinner, so we are planning on coming back for their brunch. I think they serve Ukrainian style food. Lots of choices on all their menus. We even got to meet Iggy, a very friendly and welcoming host. The person who took our orders was very helpful in explaining the items on the menu and making recommendations. That's why we got the deviled eggs - another outstanding dish. The restaurant itself is very small. It looks like it occupies just the front of the building . Tables are nicely spaced. Good illumination on the tables. Also, some nice places in front of the restaurant to eat.

Yelp
Hands down the best Eastern European soups and sandwiches I've ever had first time in my life. My friend and I ordered: Latkes (seasonal special)- so crispy and delicious; goes well with the apple sauce and sour cream Sardine sandwich- looks bizarre at first, but tasted like tuna and egg salad sandwich combined, really delicious and not smelly at all Borsch soup- very generous on the beets, not too sour with a hint of parsley Beef tongue sandwich- my friend loved it and it was easy to bite in Chicken Matzo ball soup- good soup with a big matzo filling Grilled cheese sandwich- my friend's son said it's better than his school lunch lol Potato and mushroom baked buns- looks like a turnover with good texture, but it was lacking salt Apple cinnamon baked buns- looks like an apple turnover with flaky crust, but it was lacking sugar Overall the service was great and fast. There's indoor and outdoor seating available with self-serve water and coffee stations. The place is a little small but clean and hipster, since it's shared with a wine bar. Street parking only around Balboa Ave or take the bus there.

Yelp
We wandered in and glad we did. Nice people and really good food. I had a bacon and egg breakfast sandwich on thick sourdough bread and the wife had a classic breakfast with potato latke! Try this place!

Yelp
There was a Lunar celebration today (Jan 18, 2025) along Balboa Street from 35th Avenue to 39th Avenue. We got lucky and found this place and was about to grab a table for dinner. Unfortunately they just closed!! The owner was fantastic and said they had one last sandwich - brisket and handed it to us. We just ate it at home and "wow" what a great tasting sandwich that is generous with briskets, onions and arugula. Definitely going back to try their other dishes!! Great people and fantastic food. Highly recommend this place.

Yelp
This is in the former Cassava space. Ordered two sandos and the service was a bit rude. Lady expediting demanded we show our pickup screen, but we had simply ordered online for pickup. The bread for the egg and cheese was solid, but overall, the sandwich was too greasy. The beef brisket had good flavor and enjoyed the arugula; however, it was fairly wet throughout and the roll was like a soggy sponge. Pro tip: drain the meat and offer the juice on the side. With so many solid sando places in the area, I wouldn't go out of my way to return.

Yelp
Had brunch here on a Saturday. Excellent French toast. Short walk from the VA. Greeted warmly and staff was attentive.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here on a whim after my appointment across the street. Of all the restaurants on the block, Iggy's seemed to be the most popping one. And for good reason! We were pleasantly surprised with how friendly and welcoming the service was! From the lady greeting us at the cashier, to the other two ladies who checked up on us periodically during our meal. Iggy's is an order first, and then sit-down, type of place; the workers were so attentive despite this type of setting! We both ordered the (I believe) special of the day, the pulled pork benedict. Everything was fresh and flavorful! It had the vibes of a nice and simple home-cooked meal. Rather than the typical side of potatoes you can get at most other brunch places, we were served a side of latkes, with their special apple sauce(?). It was a really nice flavor combo! Didn't even need the ketchup that one of the ladies so kindly brought to us. xD There's indoor and outdoor seating. Everything looked really clean. Gotta give points to the bathroom too, which was also very clean! I loved all the sunflowers everywhere, given that I think the owners are from Ukraine. Definitely added some brightness to the overall cheery establishment! Iggy's is a great and affordable option if you're in the area! :) Will definitely be back to try those yummy-looking sandwiches!

Yelp
In this photo, this photo... *crumples up paper and throws off stage* Iggy's place is nothing short of an authentic family experience. Much like an episode of the sopranos, from the beginning to the end of a 60 minute run time, you will feel at home. Also unlimited coffee

Yelp
Another masterpiece from dinner menu! Amazing combination of flavors: juicy and tender brisket with caramelized onions, garlic aioli, tomatoes and micro greens.

Yelp
Great sandwiches in the outer Richmond. I've gotten the turkey, beef, and pork, and they were all delicious. If you want a very hearty sandwich out by the ocean, this is a great option that will fill you up at a reasonable price and leave you wanting to come back.

Yelp
Second time for lunch. Excellent food and gracious service. Latkes, thin and tasty. House brined turkey sandwich on RiseUp hoagi. Easily one of the best sandwiches in SF. Forgot to ask no cranberry sauce and was encouraged to give it a try and if I didn't like it, they would make me another one. Get it with cranberry. it was light and jammy. Now we paired half sandwich with bowl of matzo ball chicken soup. I make my own and my wife makes an excellent matzo all. My wife was super impressed and my mom would be too. One of the best if you like a light more fluffy style. These balls float. The chicken in the soup was super tender & tasty. Looking to come for dinner and sample their dumplings. Iggy's is a find. And the owners are incredibly welcoming.

Yelp
The sandwich was good but one of the employees/cashier was extremely rude to me both during the ordering process and after I finished my meal. There were no clearly labeled trash bins and when I went to clean up after myself after my meal she basically yelled at me for putting my scraps in the wrong trash. It really caught me off guard and was quite upsetting. Perhaps the establishment should make it clear that they'll clean up after you instead of leaving things up to the customer.

Yelp
I was excited to try this new place that moved into Cassava's old spot. I don't recommend getting the matzo ball soup and latkes to go. The soup container was all wet because soup was filled too high. The latkes were immediately put into the container after leaving the grill so they were very oily; I also watched them add a lot more oil to the latkes in the middle of cooking. The bottom latke was soaking in oil so the bottom of the container had a layer of oil. The matzo ball soup was good - not salty like other matzo ball soup I've had. I liked the apple sauce and the latkes after blotting them with all the napkins they provided.

Yelp
The food was delicious, and it's an excellent place for lunch. I tried their soups and sandwiches, which seem to be inspired by Eastern European recipes. The staff was very friendly and helpful in guiding me through the menu. Also, don't forget to try Kvass--it's a refreshing non-alcoholic drink they offer.

Yelp
The best sandwich I have had in SF. The schnitzel one is a hit Wonderful service as well. Definitely coming back.

Yelp
The owners are sweet. One suggestion. Our egg plates were served with a half piece of toast. A whole piece would have been adequate and more in line with other restaurants. A half piece of toast isn't enough to enjoy with two eggs. Thank you.

Yelp
Were visiting our old neighborhood and found this place on Yelp. Husband's corned beef hash was the best he ever tasted. My Challah french toast was delicious. Friendly service and we had a nice visit with the owners. Truly lovely people. Highly recommend this neighborhood gem!
