Stopped in for a late Saturday lunch. The restaurant was clean with a fun atmosphere. Our waitress was nice but failed to refill our drinks and failed to offer a salsa or chip refill. There was one bowl of salsa to be shared at the table. We enjoyed our entrees which were grilled chicken chimichurri and an asada torta. Our sides were extremely disappointing. The green chile corn bread was cold as if it had just been pulled out of the cooler. It was extremely bland with no chiles in the batter. The black beans were also cold and had a strong taste of chili powder. We did mention the cornbread to our waitress but she did not offer another side. It was nice to try something new but it was an underwhelming experience.

The food was flavor full and delicious! Drinks were great! Arrived during happy hour, so even better.😉 I ordered the Sangria Swirl Margarita and the Birria 🌮Tacos. The loaded queso was a yummy app. Already planning on coming back for the patio and drinks 🍹!!

Google
The margarita was good. A little sweet but they use fresh lime juice and agave. Ordered the cheese enchilada and Burria taco with rice and Elote. Everything was cooked well and tasted amazing. Service was fast and friendly. Although they weren’t busy because I went between lunch and dinner. Would definitely go back. This was a place I stopped in after visiting factory obscura. Glad I did.

Google
Terrible they barely have anything on the menu. The waitress wants to make sure you know there is a $6 charge for the fire salsa or the Coral Snake salsa, but when you order a chimichanga and you get steak and cheese on top of it they do not advise that is an upcharge to be steak or that it is an up charge to be topped with cheese. The waitress only asks what kind of protein (meat) and what kind of sauce. Then they want to automatically add a 20% gratuity to the check and not tell you beforehand nor is it mentioned anywhere on their menu. It took us almost a hr to get our drinks and queso. It was 1 hr and 15 mins before we could order our food. I definitely do not recommend this place for large parties... If you are doing a small dinner for 2 or 4 maybe but not a large party. Very disappointed in the service and the food was not all that great. The queso is out of a can and definitely not freshly made.

My family absolutely loves this place! We eat here almost everytime we go to OKC.

Google
A very nice restaurant tucked away on 9th Street just East of Broadway. Once you try this place you will become a regular as I am going to be. Food quality and portion size is very good. The staff are very professional and the atmosphere has a good vibe. You are not packed in with tables right on top of each other. A reasonably price menu also.

Google
Had a great work lunch here! It took a little time to get a table (it was a busy lunch time though). Once we were sat, we ordered, ate, and paid quickly. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable about the food items and they accommodated a few modifications easily. I'll be back soon!

Google
For years we have searched for good Tex-mex in OKC. We finally found it. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was fantastic. Rachel(sp) was a great server! She made excellent recommendations and took good care of us. This will be our "go to" anytime we are in OKC!

Yelp
Excellent Mexican food. Shrimp taco , cheeseburger taco , avocado chop salad, and fajitas are delicious. Helpful kind staff. Beautiful old restored building.

Yelp
Came here for dinner on a Wednesday place was pretty much empty...ordered chimchurri steak and chicken enchiladas...steak was chewy and tasted fatty and chewy....the chicken enchiladas was dry ...had a little flavor the rice and beans had no flavor and the corn bread was dry..chips and salsa was bland but the queso and habanero salsa was good..drinks was not that great! Will I return no! Service was okay! Ambiance was the comfy sofa type seating! Again l, Will not return unfortunately.

Yelp
This was my third or fourth time stopping in! I got the steak and the carne asada tacos. Both were amazing. Service was 10/10 and quick refills. I definitely would recommend--really tasty and great value

Yelp
Stopped in with friends during happy hour. Enjoyed really good queso and a swirl. Servers were really on top of things, and our drinks and snacks were perfectly priced would come back here again.

Yelp
Potent margaritas. Super fresh salsa. Guacamole that was made from avocados that were at their 15 minute peak of ripeness. Generous portions of the burrito bowls and iguana special. Friendly and attentive service. Definitely worth a try.
google avatar

Mark R.

Yelp
Great service and great food. Rachel rocked always keeping our drinks flowing and brought more chips and salsa before we ran out. Fire salsa is the best. Tacos were good and so was the avocado chopped salad--lots of good stuff mixed in. Music playing was classic rock. Not a darn thing wrong until the check came. Wow, two iced teas, avocado salad, two tacos with rice and beans and fire salsa was $55 with tip. So much for a $25 to $30 lunch. Heck Fish Taco Tuesday we used to get 2 very large fish tacos with a small side of rice and beans for less than $10. Thanks Democrats.

Yelp
Salsa and chips are super yummy. Salsa is so fresh and chips went super well. Tacos are pretty delicious as well. The queso is lacking for sure. It tastes like melted american cheese slices according to my husband. Main thing that needs to be corrected is that they were slammed and only had One server. That does not seem right. We didn't get water refills and didn't get everything we asked for. Can't blame the server though she was doing her best. Service always seems to be kinda lacking here though

Yelp
Iguanas is one of my favorite places in okc! They food, drinks, and service is always good! Great place to pop in for lunch or to celebrate any occasion! They have a small patio that is great when the weather permits!
google avatar

Steve D.

Yelp
We always enjoy the food here. The salsa is well blended and has an excellent flavor and I always get a pint to take home. I had the chicken enchiladas and they never disappoint. Service is always attentive. Highly recommend!

Yelp
They were probably understaffed, so service was slow, and it didn't help that they were busy during lunch hours. Decent queso, but it's runny. I had the carne asada taco and a side of elote. Our server didn't give us silverware, so we spent a couple of minutes looking for her. I wished they had warmed the tortillas. The taco was flavorful, but the meat was greasy with a lot of liquid. The elote was okay and had a kick to it. Overall, slow and inattentive service while the food was unimpressive.

Yelp
Stopped in for drinks. Cute place the bartender Was nice. We had the Sanderson Sisters margaritas.. we both chose Sarah, and they were sweet!!! Chips and salsa were delicious, the salsa was not spicy at all but it was flavorful!

Anthony G.

Yelp
The customer service was great! The food however needed work. The birria tacos were okay but the Saudi was thin and watery. The green rice had no flavor and was cold and bland. The burrito was okay but was not what I ordered. Ordered the pork carnitas burrito and received the chicken. The Mexican potato's were cold and unseasoned. Overall 5/10 just because their server was amazing and super nice and helpful.

Yelp
Loved this place! It's very quite and nicely decorated. Has a nice laid back fun vibe to it. Chips and hot sauce were great. I got the two taco plate. One roasted cauliflower and one carne asada. If I knew how good the roasted cauliflower taco was going to be, I would have gotten it for both tacos. I loved everything about it. It was a house made thick corn tortilla with diced up roasted cauliflower topped with pickled cabbage and crema. SO DELICIOUS. The carne asada was also good too but nothing compared to the cauliflower. I got the green (cilantro) rice and retried beans. Also both very good. My boyfriend got the nachos and he seemed to like them! I don't think they stood out as anything special but they were solid. Service was great. I I'll definitely be back here.

Jeshua G.

Yelp
Great food but hit and miss service. They lost a party today because we aren't waiting 10 minutes after opening for them to unlock the doors. Poor management all the way around
google avatar

April K.

Yelp
It was okay. Service was good enough. I had the chalupa nachos. Nachos how they should be but very little meat. The appetizer salsa, queso, guacamole was good. Meh....

Rukiya H.

Yelp
Horrible service. I made a reservation and we arrived on time and nothing was prepared for us. The waiter never actually introduced herself and never came by but to drop off orders. We always had to waive her down to receive any assistance. I've been to this place many times and I've never seen such horrible service before. We had to keep asking for obvious things. More plates, remove old ones for the new ones, silverware, etc.
google avatar

Devin K.

Yelp
This food is always good. Hadn't been here in a while. Not because it's not good, but because I can't be eating all these chips. The salsa alone is almost reason enough to come here. One of the best salsa's you can get in a restaurant. I got the pork burrito. It's so good. Really like it with the rice and beans. We also got some avocado which was good. My wife got a salad and she enjoyed it. Just an overall good place for lunch or dinner. I've never been disappointed with Iguana Grill.

Yelp
Consistently good meal. Our office is across the street & we frequent Iguana. For this trip, we were celebrating a collegiate who lives out of town. We ordered drinks, queso, guac & salsa for the table. Usually, I have the avocado chop salad, but today ordered a couple of tacos, carne esada & fajita chicken. The carne esada will be something I order again, it was so good! The fajita taco was packed, but mostly with peppers.

Yelp
Not sure what happened but food is not as good as it used to. Got the coral snake and it smelled and tasted really bad. I have had a bad stomach ache since I ate here and another person got food poisoning. Will not be eating here again which is unfortunate because this used to be my favorite place.

Joie P.

Yelp
This is our favorite place to eat! Never ever disappointed! The food is amazing, great cocktails and margaritas, the ambiance is great, and the service is outstanding! You can't go wrong!

Yelp
After waiting an incredibly awkward 7-8 minutes at the hostess stand and being ignored by at least 4 different employees - one server noticed us, started to walk away, came to address us and then left us again to see who's "turn" it was to get a table. I could understand all of this if they were slammed - but the restaurant was empty. Needless to say, we left and went to another Mexican restaurant about 3 minutes away. I had read reviews that Iguana isn't as good as it used to be, but was willing to give it a shot - sadly, I'm afraid those reviews were right.
google avatar

Evelyn G.

Yelp
The service was friendly and attentive and atmosphere was fun and inviting. Since it was a Friday during lent, I ordered a fish and a shrimp taco with a side of fries. The fish taco was colorful and had a nice blend of textures with the soft flour tortilla and the crispy fried breaded fish. However it seemed to lack flavor. The shrimp taco was ok too. The fries were thin, crispy and tasty.

Yelp
Been a fan of iguana for a long while! Visited with some friends last night and wasn't disappointed. I absolutely loved my cheese enchilada with sour cream sauce (highly recommend!). My friends had the tacos and chicken enchiladas which they enjoyed as well. The complimentary chips and salsa is always fresh and the perfect start to an iguana meal!

Belle D.

Yelp
Delish! Great queso and salsa, and the chimichanga was fantastic! Highly recommend the elote as a side as well! Would go back again for sure!
google avatar

Debra K.

Yelp
Salsa is great. Service was almost OK. Food was above average. Five of us went for lunch. We wanted to sample the salsa trio (with great names, I might add) but it never showed up. Our waiter did notice this when he was finally tabbing us out. I had the skinny burrito which was A-OK but know it is more of a wrap than a burrito. I would order it again especially with the sides of the elote and grilled veggies. (Seriously, you must order the elote here.) Others had the nachos (HUGE), enchiladas, a smothered burrito and the chopped avocado salad. I would order the salad on my next visit. I do love the surroundings and the vibe here. But, given the chance to eat lunch anywhere in this area, I would choose elsewhere. That is not necessarily a slam against Iguana, there's just a lot of great places in this area. (Just reading they're under new management so I will give it another try.)

Yelp
We love the iguana grill. Food and drinks are yummy. We have experienced great service here and slow service but we will still return as I know it's hard to get waiter/waitress these days!

Mike D.

Yelp
Had dinner on Feb. 27,2024 Ordered 2 Fajita Tacos, one chicken one steak. Meat was bland and no taste. Worst Fajita tacos ever. The need to rethink how they grill their meat for tacos.

Yelp
Located just a few miles from the State's Capital, this is a great stop for a bite to eat!!! The salsa...the first item I judge a Mexican restaurant by...was delicious..uniquely seasoned. Our table ordered the dip trio: I tried none of those as the salsa was enough for me. The waitress assured them none of the dips were fiery hot...well everyone has their own opinion as to what that term means and those who indulged did not share the opinion of the waitress we all ordered tacos...I didn't hear a single complaint. The beans were scrumptious as was the fresh pineapple side. Our waitress was patiently informative and all ten of us was served in a timely manner. I'll be back for a visit when I'm again in the area.

Yelp
Good food and cute ambiance! I liked that we came in on a Saturday night and there wasn't a wait!
google avatar

Yayamamasami ..

Yelp
This was my first time here. Food was bland, not something I'd expect from a Mexican restaurant. Had three different tacos; fish, shrimp and chicken, beans and rice, none of which stood out and said "Come back and eat this again!". I usually can say something good. Unfortunately, C- is about as good as I can do. With all the great choices of restaurants, I'll try another restaurant next time I'm in Bricktown.

Yelp
My first visit to this restaurant for a company dinner. Our server was very efficient and did a good job of keeping drink orders replenished. I heard several order a swirl - they loved it and apparently it did the job. Haha I ordered water and Shrimp "A La Tuma" Grilled shrimp, crispy cheese, mango jicama slaw, chile de arbol aioli, corn tortilla. I swapped the corn for flour tortillas. Nice! There was plenty of shrimp in the two tacos. The mango jicama slaw was on point! I'm not generally a fan of refried beans but they were cooked well and served in a bowl with rice on the plate. Well done to the team at Iguana. I wish I had a photo to share, but just drop in and order something. You'll enjoy. I may order something to go in the near future. Service and food - excellent Seating and ambiance - fair, high seating isn't generally comfortable.
google avatar

Leslie D.

Yelp
You really can't beat the prices here. There's rarely a long wait, the food is good, and the service is usually fast. I usually skip the menu entrees and go for a side of beans, rice, tortillas, and guac. The vegetarian menu items are limited. I'm a HUGE fan of the guac and tortillas- I could eat just those two items every day and not get tired of them.
google avatar

Jayson N.

Yelp
Used to love this place before Covid, this was my first time back and it's seems really bland with small portions now. Almost 60 dollars(with tip) for some queso, a two taco plate and an enchilada(super small enchiladas) plate seems a little much. Food was definitely seasoned by a white guy or gal, very bland. I get a chance to go out once a paycheck and pretty sad I spent my money on this place. Plus getting constant eye rolls every time I needed something from the waitress was pretty infuriating. I would recommend San Marcos off of 59th to anyone that wants to pay for food that's worth it and not get eye rolls constantly.
google avatar

Emilia S.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing food. I am someone who usually does not like Mexican food but I genuinely enjoyed the Spicy balanced with other great flavors. The atmosphere is very trendy and there are many drinks available as well. Would definitely dine here again!
google avatar

Nathan H.

Yelp
Tracey is the best waitress at iguana always smilin and never do we need anything, always meets our needs. Makes some awesome drinks also

Marie M.

Yelp
Service wasn't very good , maybe short staffed and food was not very good. Waited forever for drinks and food. This place use to be great and it has gone downhill unfortunately or we just went on a bad night.
google avatar

Tracee W.

Yelp
Great food at great prices! The place is cute, clean, and our server was top notch. I had a beef quesadilla and my friend had a fish taco and a shrimp taco. The chips were fresh and the queso and salsa were yummy! It was a funky little place that is definitely worth the trip!
google avatar

Kim H.

Yelp
This is the queso I needed in my life so good gewey goodness The salsa trio is super hot food was great loved it
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious variety of tacos with really quick and friendly service. Iguana has a hip vibe and delicious margaritas. We would definitely return if we lived closer. It was a great find that had a pretty decent sized lunch rush.
google avatar

Lydia F.

Yelp
Iguana has really grown on me. You have to know what to order. I tried the traditional Mexican items, like enchiladas, and I wasn't impressed. Here, you have to order nontraditional food. The chicken tortilla soup = excellent. The salads are fresh and delicious. The restaurant is huge, and they can fit a lot of people. They don't always have enough staff at lunch, so the servers get bogged down and forget little things. It's one of the best Mexican food options downtown, as long as you ignore the little flaws and skip the enchiladas.

Susan A.

Yelp
We struggle to find Mexican food or Tex Mex we like. I think it's fair to say we have found it here. We stopped in for lunch today. Excellent, prompt service. We chose dip trio as an appetizer. Very tasty. Guac was perfect. The apricot spicy salsa was exactly as waitress described it, sweet at first bite with a spicy bite at the end. Queso was different but we liked it. My husband and I both had a pineapple mojito. Very smooth. Not too sweet but great mix of pineapple and mint. Entree we split the pork barbacoa chimichanga. Very tasty. Atmosphere was fun.
google avatar

Hannah M.

Yelp
Been coming to Iguana for years not sure why I haven't wrote a review yet! First and foremost their queso is amazing PLUS if you check in using your yelp app - you get a free cup of it! This is definitely better than their salsa which used to be much better than it is today. I usually always go on their taco Tuesday special which is now $2 tacos for mini tacos get yourself at least 3 or you're going to be leaving hungry... their chicken taco off the $2 menu is amazing that orange dressing whatever it is, don't let it fool you - you'd eat a side with chips if you were able to! the pork one I got was awful I only took one bite it was just all fat. the chips are great not overly salted or overly greasy. customer service is always attentive and just an all around safe spot for a casual lunch or dinner.
google avatar

Chuck H.

Yelp
Went for Taco Tuesday! Plenty of seating in this deceiving spacious restaurant. There is demand for a larger parking lot size. Tried all the tacos on the Taco Tuesday menu which not only included tacos but also nachos and drinks for a great price. The complementary chips and salsa were great! We had a heaping bowl of salsa contrasting to the typical ramekin Carne asada Taco 5/5 - definitely worth the extra cost. Balance of flavorful and juicy steak with a slice of fresh avocado and sauces Chicken Taco 4/5 love the light taste. Not much sauce if you're not a fan of it like I am! Ground beef Taco 3/5 a tad too salty and saucy for me. Much rather prefer the other 2 tacos. Looking forward to coming again

Yelp
One of my favorite OKC spots for Mexican food! Anytime I'm in town I try to go here for a great meal. Their queso and salsa are absolutely delicious. I typically like queso more but their salsa is amazing. They have some great vegetarian meals, including a large avocado bowl complete with rice, black beans, avocado, corn, cheese, and you can have meat added if you wish. The food is flavorful, the service is great, and their cocktails are well mixed. It's also a fairly "hip" place to have a meal if you're showing a visitor around OKC. Very cool aesthetic and bar area as well.

Yelp
I love Iguana Grill! I got their Chalupa Nachos and they were DELICIOUS!! The fajita chicken was juicy and fresh and I loved their guacamole... The only downfall is that we came as a large group at lunchtime (with a reservation) and the wait staff took forever. But they were still nice and we all enjoyed our food! The atmosphere is edgy and youthful, you can come here with a small group of friends or a large party. Their menu items are traditional Tex-mex but with a twist-- they have different assortments of quesos, tacos (street tacos, too!) nachos, burritos, enchiladas, and more!
google avatar

Katlyn M.

Yelp
We were in the mood for some good Mexican and wanted to try out a new spot. So glad we did! Even with the limited menu due to COVID, our expectations were way exceeded. We started out with the queso fundido which was AH-MAZING. The chorizo and grilled peppers and onions on top... ermahgerd. Our entrees came out quickly and the presentation was great. I got the chimichurri chicken which was HUGE. Like two chickens huge. The babe got the chicken enchiladas and before I could get through one chicken breast she had her plate clean so I'm assuming they were good! Overall a really great place, cute/hip decor on the inside and attentive and friendly staff. Will definitely be back!

Herb V.

Yelp
Food was luke warm and not much flavor. Told wait person and all she did take my plate and bring the check

Yelp
Great spot for a birthday dinner. Fun decor! I have been here once with a group of 10 (great service and food) and yesterday, just my boyfriend and I. Again, great service and food. Just in time for happy hour, which ends at 6! $1.50 street tacos, $4 house margs, $2 Mexican beers. They have other summer specials on top of the daily happy hour. Our order- Chicken street tacos- very juicy meat and not shy on the toppings at all! Pork Carnitas street tacos - flavorful but the meat was a bit dry. Again, generously topped. Queso (small) with chorizo add on - GREAT and or waitress made sure we had fresh chips flowing Signature marg on the rocks- flavorful and not too sweet! Marg special, blueberry mint marg - YUM and beautiful! This one was sweet but the lime flavor and tequila were a great compliment. Loved the abundant fresh mint topping! Came out in a frosted glass. After our "starters", we weren't hungry for anything else, but I have no doubt the rest of their menu is killer. Special shout out to our waitress, Laura, who was phenomenal! She was taking care of at least 10 tables by herself when we left and was 100% on top of things. Her knowledge of the menu and kind smile made for a great experience.

Yelp
We've tried this place twice with large groups, and unfortunately neither experience was very impressive. Both times, we were told that we would need to wait for coffee to be brewed, which was pretty surprising during a Sunday brunch hour. Also, the queso is just mediocre while other meal items don't taste very fresh. Lastly, we were shocked this past time we came to find out that brunch had been taken away when it seems like most of the time the trend is for restaurants to add brunch. Redeeming qualities were the salsa, hard-working wait staff to accommodate large groups, and reasonable prices.
