24-Hour Restaurants Around D.C. | Eater DC

"This reliable chain has beckoned late night warriors with the sweet smell of pancake syrup for years. Besides pancakes, IHOP has branched out with burgers, burritos, bowls, and gluten-free options. And for anytime cravings for burgers, fries, pancakes, milkshakes, and more, diner chain Denny’s also does the trick. D.C. is home to two 24-hour Denny’s outposts (both in Northeast), plus two in Maryland (Laurel and College Park) and one in Virginia (Falls Church)." - Eater Staff

Great time here! Good food at a low price. Love coming here for a quick bite to eat with friends.

Google
People usually go to a restaurant to enjoy a meal and have a good time—but if you're looking to have your mood and entire day ruined, this is the place to go. The staff here are unbelievably rude and dismissive, acting as though they're overwhelmed even when the restaurant is more than 75% empty. You’ll have to call them multiple times just to get their attention, and even then, you’ll likely wait at least 10 minutes before they decide you're worthy of basic service. There’s absolutely no sense of hospitality or professionalism. It’s clear that customer experience is the last thing on their minds. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place if you value your time, your mood, or even just common courtesy.

Google
This was one of the worst morning ever, after experiencing service from this restaurant. The hostess standing at the front is rude beyond belief! Please be aware of her, she is a skinny white lady late 20’s to early mid 30’s look and she has the nastiest attitude I have ever encountered in this world. Her customer service is very poor and I will be calling corporate to report her today!!!

Google
Overall it was horrible experience at this location . Staff extremely rude they had lot table empty but made us wait almost 20 mins before they got us table then stuff at table were dirty. Anyway food was fine but overall experience was not good

Google
Extremely expensive! You can't get an omelette here for less than $20! This is Times Square-style pricing, almost double the cost of other places in DC. Also, beware that you will get charged four dollars extra per child's drink! The kids menu does not warn you that drinks are NOT included. And the server didn’t tell us either. When I questioned the surprise items on the bill, he just said “no, not included.) The food is what you would expect (filling portion sizes and solid taste, hence three stars). Just not worth the high prices and slow service. We waited over five minutes to be seated, ten minutes to order, and 15 minutes for food to arrive. A local independent diner would be a better bet. Clean bathrooms.

Google
Absolutely horrible experience. We placed an Uber Eats order from IHOP around 2AM on 7/20 to our hotel. The order included French toast, scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon, hash browns with onions and green peppers, and a protein pancake with bananas and strawberries. In the additional instructions, we clearly requested utensils, syrup, ketchup, and salt/pepper—all items that are required to be requested due to D.C.’s policy since Jan 2022. After waiting nearly an hour, our food arrived with NONE of the requested items. No utensils, no syrup, no condiments, and the hash browns came plain—missing everything we added. We were staying in a hotel with no access to basic utensils, so how exactly were we supposed to eat French toast and pancakes with no syrup or fork? Clearly, whoever prepared the order didn’t bother to read the instructions. I tried calling the restaurant multiple times, and no one answered. I will be filing a complaint with corporate because this level of carelessness is unacceptable—especially when people rely on these details while ordering late at night. Never again.

The food was alright. The restaurant was clean. The service was great.

Yelp
Extremely expensive! You can't get an omelette here for less than $20! Unheard of. Also, beware that you will get charged four dollars extra per child's drink! The kids menu does not warn you that drinks are not included. And the server probably won't tell you either. That was a costly mistake. The food is what you would expect (filling portion sizes and satisfying, hence three stars). Just not worth the high prices and slow service. A local independent diner would be a better bet. Clean bathrooms.

Yelp
Nick was fantastic! Completely led us through the menu and was kind to my child when he asked about the menu. It was very clean and the service was phenomenal. The menu features many different foods for every palate. We had to rush over to the pediatric room right next door and it was perfect time to dine and go. They also offer free food for kids from 4-10pm so that was awesome. My little guy had a soda with a popsicle and the music was awesome. Great vibes. Their iced coffee wasn't the greatest but that's ok next time I'll just go with the hot coffee that you can't go wrong with! Till next time.

Yelp
Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised! Ive heard bad things about the location, but they seem to have things under control. Food was good. My only complaint is cost - $6 for a coffee is crazy

Yelp
Yummy breakfast! It's definitely worth all the hassle I went through catching a bus to get here! The server has been quite lovely. A clean and peaceful environment where I can enjoy my breakfast as my pace in peace!

Yelp
I used to enjoy an occasional visit to IHOP. My most recent visit to this one may have cured me of any desire to go again. It had been a while since I last ate at IHOP, so that's probably why the prices shocked me. But $5.65 for coffee? B'jeebus. And the coffee was weak. And then they got the order wrong. Eggs over easy are fine, but I ordered scrambled. Can't blame the staff, really. It's a tough neighborhood, who knows what they have to deal with every day. Bottom line: For $30.00, I was hoping for better.

Yelp
Imagine it's 2-3am and you're hungry.. Where do you go? DoorDash! It took me a solid 30-45 mins and searching through reviews. I was going to get pizza at a couple different places but the reviews were either bad or nonexistent. I eventually got a pancakes craving and IHOP it was! I ordered at 3:10am via DoorDash. I got 2 blueberry pancakes, 2 slices of bacon, scrambled eggs, and hash browns. It was a little over $15. My food Arrived around 3:45am, which wasn't bad. It was sooner than estimated delivery time, which I was happy about. The packaging was great! They put the blueberry compost and the whip cream in bowls versus on the pancakes. The food container had layers! I hadn't seen this before. They had the eggs, bacon, and hash browns at the bottom and then the pancakes ok what looks a plastic top. Then another top was over the pancakes! While eating, quickly came to conclusion that the bacon wasn't crispy enough for my liking. While they bagged syrup for my pancakes, they didn't put any salt and pepper for my scrambled eggs or ketchup for my hash browns. My hash browns was shaped rectangularly and tasted decent without ketchup. I did end up adding some syrup but it wasn't anything like having ketchup. My pancakes were delicious!!!! While there were blueberries in the pancakes, I think it was the blueberry compost that really make it outstanding! I tasted the whip cream but didn't use it. It wasn't very sweet. I honestly got full after eating the first pancake, but I couldn't leave any evidence for my son, who was sleeping lol. This take out/delivery experience was really good. I enjoyed the food. Besides not having some condiments, I had no complaints. Thanks IHOP for satisfying my late night hunger!

Yelp
This review would've originally been probably 2 stars had it not been for the great service of Darryl, one of the managers. I called and asked to speak with a manager after my delivery order (which I ordered directly from their website, not a third party) was missing several items. It included a Ham & Egg Melt, mashed potatoes, hash browns, and a syrup caddy. He initially was going to refund me but then ask how far I lived from the IHOP. He then told me he would get all the food made and he would come drop it off himself. It only took him about 30-45 minutes max to arrive at my door with the missing food items.

Yelp
Says 24/7, but if you go there early because it's the only place open, their dining room doesn't open until "around 8:00".
google avatar

James J.

Yelp
Always reliable quality of food...it's IHOP but it's a consistent IHOP . If you live nearby it's about all you have after 3am...

Yelp
It's sorta hard to go wrong with IHOP and pancakes, right? Well, this place manages it. Dry pancakes, watery coffee, small waitress (all I did was ask for water) - I think I'll avoid IHOP for a while.

Yelp
It's been years since I have been to an IHOP! I have always avoided this place due to both the food and service in the city always being....mediocre to down right just the worst. Thanks to my favorite breakfast spot....Eggspectaion....closing down due to COVID, I have been looking for a new breakfast spot replacement with decent eats. Well, this location is definitely a contender. Craving a quick breakfast before Saturday errands, I decided to give this place a try. My experience and this review is from a curbside pickup and takeout perspective. From beginning to end....it was all good. The process of ordering online via IHOP.com was quick and simple. An estimated time was provided for when my order would be ready and it actually was prepared on time as I arrived. I ordered the Breakfast Sampler and the seasonal Pumpkin Spice Pancakes Combo. Both meals came with a hefty serving of eggs (prepared your way), hash-browns and two meats. The container and packaging of the meals were perfect. Also, the meals were prepared exactly as I requested online including a few special instructions. The standout of the meals for sure were the Pumpkin Spice Pancakes! Who knew!? Surpisingly they were stacked just right, fluffy, and full of cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice flavor! Not to mention, once the hot syrup IHOP provided blessed the stack....I was on Cloud 9. In all, a total surprise and great experience at this IHOP location. I thoroughly enjoyed the food! Also, I was impressed by how easy the ordering process was and the customer service. As soon as I walked in the IHOP, I was greeted and I mentioned that I ordered online. My order was there waiting for me. From what I could tell, the staff were friendly and the establishment was clean unlike some of the IHOPs around the city. Some of the locations around the city can get a little "hectic" and "ratchet!"...if you catch my drift. At any rate, I was made a fan and my liking to IHOP was renewed by this location.....at least for takeout. I definitely will be back!

Yelp
I don't like this place , I have a reason not to like it , because first off the employees and especially the manager of the branch is disrespectful , unprofessional I had a hair in my food , Ihop is big company , and they don't even have masks for customers that doesn't have . I'm not going to suggest this place to anyone

David A.

Yelp
This place sucks !! Manger very disrespectful and fucking sarcastic they definitely need to do something about this pace employees with earbuds on all the time hey can't hear what you're saying!!! They lead by example but the example they as a "manager" definitely not the best !!

Yelp
I'd like to preface this review by saying I'm not a fan of IHOP. In fact, it's my least favorite breakfast place. A friend of mine, however, likes it and suggested it for breakfast. I'm working on my control issues. I thought I'd be safe with ordering a Belgian Waffle and scrambled eggs with cheese. It's hard to mess up a waffle; it ended up being a safe choice. The eggs however were not warm and the cheese was hard and rubbery. I feel like I got some eggs that were sitting out for a while. My friend enjoyed her pancakes that were covered in a red, sticky substance. I had low expectations for the food and this location met those expectations. The stale eggs aren't the most disconcerting part of the visit.. the disgusting condition of the kitchen is. I went to the bathroom, and got a glimpse of the kitchen. DEPLORABLE. This place needs to be closed down and a deep cleaning needs to commence. There was all types of food debris on the floor, and a general look of grime. I felt the urge to vomit after seeing the kitchen, as I'd already consumed my food. Would I return you ask? No. If the food looks good, it wasn't.

Yelp
Great and hot food. Staff has been friendly during every experience. Location is okay, plenty of seating

Yelp
Wow... What a circus!!! We went in around midnight on the 4th of July, and we (much like the phone ringing off the hook) were ignored for a bit before being seated. When we got to our booth we were waited on by Barbara who said it was her first week. She was pleasant & had a friendly /comforting voice. We ordered our drinks, but weren't ready to order our food yet. She promptly brought us our drinks & took our orders. She came back several minutes later apologizing saying she'd lost our orders. We were pretty impressed that when she came to take them again she remembered them with about 95% accuracy. We'd been there a while already (the place wasn't busy by any means) so we passed the time by playing a game. It was all good because Barbara seemed pleasant & apologetic. A few mins later she brought out our food (well...most of our food anyway)...and left. No silverware, no condiments, no drinks we'd ordered for the meal, no even asking if she could get us anything else. So we sat there for several minutes (another table had come in & she went to get their coffee) and had to call her name as she rushed past to tell her what we were missing. She brought the condiments & silverware, but we had to remind her again about the drinks. We ate our food & she brought the bill to the table so she "wouldn't forget" but again didn't ask if we needed anything. She disappeared for a bit & when she finally came back we asked for to go drinks & boxes for our leftovers. As she was gone to get our to go stuff I went up to the front to pay. (We also noticed every single thing on our receipt was a different price from the menu...for instance my specialty pancakes add on was $2.99 while my son's showed $3.99 and we both ordered omelets) The girl at the front asked if I was ready to pay & I said "yes, but all the prices are different from the menu, they're all wrong" she's like "No, they're all right. They're more because it's night" Oh... Uhhhhmmmmmm... It could like show that somewhere, or people could mention it. But anyway... I went to pay her & she was like "no, you can only pay your server, I'll go get her" So I went back to my booth & waited for Barbara. She came rushing out & was asking if I was trying to pay. I told her "yes, but she said we had to pay you" She grabbed my card & the bill & headed toward the register fuming something about "I hate when people...." So I followed her trying to figure out what was wrong & explained that I was just trying to pay the bill while she was getting our to go stuff. What had happened was that the girl who was at the register that wouldn't take the payment went to the back & convinced Barbara that we were about to skip out on the check. So it freaked Barbara out & she came rushing out to stop us. She and the other waitress were literally yelling across the restaurant at each other because the other waitress assumed we weren't going to pay (which made no freaking sense since I had gone up to the front TO PAY ) $89 total bill to watch this freaking crazy circus. ZERO stars if I could. Unless you're looking to get cold dinner & a crap show...skip this IHOP.

Yelp
I do not recommend this place even to my worst enemy. They need to fire everyone and bring in new people who want to work and can provide good service.

Yelp
Staff shernita is very rude. Attitude is horrible. We waited 40 minutes for our order and was very rude couldn't even get our drinks ! I will never come here again
google avatar

Tomas R.

Yelp
Good people but food was Awful got this topical omelette meat was burnt and the veggies frozen in the eggs
google avatar

Taylor F.

Yelp
Poor Attitude ! They are definitely understaffed & in need of help. This is my first time giving IHOP a shot & I definitely feel as though I have completely WASTED my time in doing so. Also the manager on duty late night is absolutely overwhelmed. Please get this man some help so that customers don't feel as though they are a BURDEN when trying to become a patron. I was so uncomfortable, I left after being told there was an hour wait & being offered to go as an alternative because there was only one server on & then I still was unable to successfully place an order at no fault of my own.

Michael V.

Yelp
Went inside nobody was at the front. Waited 5 minutes to be greeted. Sat me at a booth with ripped seats and air blowing straight on me. I have asthma so I asked her for a table on another side. She said it was closed..asked to sit by the window she rolled her eyes with attitude. I said never mind I'll take my business elsewhere. I was eating by myself and told her she lost a 10 dollar tip which I always leave eating alone. Instead of accommodating that simple request she argued with me and there were only 2 other customers in the restaurant. Really if I'm an inconvenience to you and you don't like your job or making money maybe you should get another job. I am contacting corporate and management. Totally ruined my afternoon.

Yelp
Chicken tender had something in it that made it impossible to bite or not cooked all the way. Then my pancakes came without syrup. Then ordered the ColdBrew vanilla that did not get delivered. So I'm confused how i suppose to eat my pancakes at work i am disturbed and at this point they will never get my money again
google avatar

Tonée L.

Yelp
Three stars because it's IHOP and it's in Columbia Heights.. the place is semi clean. The woman's bathroom Is a mess. But they do have this cool foot pedal at the bottom of it so you don't have to touch the door with your clean hands. Our waiter was cool. Real chill, real attentive. The all you can eat pancakes is cool. IHOP pancakes are yummy so that's always a reason to come here. There's not too much bad about this place. It's just your typical D.C. IHOP. I would recommend as a chill spot to get good breakfast food.
google avatar

Kim S.

Yelp
This IHOP is smaller than any that I have seen in the DC metro area. We had a 10 minute wait - which wasn't bad. We were seated at a huge booth - nice! Our server (Lavida) was nice, funny and accurate. Our food was cooked just as we ordered it. There was an extremely long wait for our meals to arrive but I understood - it was kinda crowded on a Sunday at 12pm. I would go back again.

Yelp
I've gotten delivery from this IHOP a couple times and both times left something to be desired. I tried the double blueberry pancakes (blueberry pancakes topped with blueberry compote). There weren't a lot of blueberries in the actual pancakes, but the blueberry compote takes the dish to the next level and was plenty blueberry. They packed a cup of whipped cream which was the perfect cool finish. However, they didn't pack syrup or silverware, which would've been appreciated. The second time, I ordered the quick two-egg breakfast (eggs, bacon or sausage, hash browns, and toast). I'm a carb girl, so I was really looking forward to the hash browns, and even the toast - but they got the order wrong. I got pancakes in lieu of both starches. Though IHOP pancakes are fluffy and delicious - and this time I got silverware, butter, and syrup - it's 1) not what I ordered and 2) not what I wanted. As much as I want to fault the delivery service, this is definitely a communication/execution issue in the kitchen, and that's IHOP. The eggs for the most part were soft and buttery, but some were also brown and overcooked. The brown parts were hiding underneath the pancakes... coincidence? I think not! IHOP, please up your delivery game.

Yelp
This place is okay if you want food and nowhere else in DC is open late at night. The food is consistent with what you would think of when you think of a chain restaurant. The rating is mainly for the service. The waitress sat us down at a semi-dirty table (the place was not packed so I do not understand why this was the move) and took our order right away. However, that would be the last we see of her until we get our food. When she deievered the food, she asked if we needed anything and at the time we didn't. When I needed hot sauce and ketschup, it took almost the whole meal for me to get those items. I flagged another waitress down to ask her and her response was "I'm not your server". Asked for a refill of water and she bought out another cup, which I thought was weird since most places just refill it for you at the table. The waitress was nice, but that was about it.
google avatar

Komal P.

Yelp
iHop is hit or miss... And this one you should definitely miss. I'd avoid coming here at all costs. I'm not sure if we just picked the wrong day to stop in or something was just off. Service sucked, like totally and completely horrible. I think they needed more servers to help all of the people that were being seated. Only 2 servers made everything slow and everyone just overall unhappy. You had to wait forever for someone to come help you. Once they did they were gone in a flash, rushed off to somewhere else. Like what on earth.
google avatar

Brittany Z. M.

Yelp
I only got take out, but my experience was great. They might not be perfect but I always appreciate a person who tries.
google avatar

Sadia M.

Yelp
I think IHOP is a must visit chain whenever in the states but most definitely not this location!! They served meat in an omelette when we ordered no meat as we only eat halal! There was no apology or even anything offered in fact we were charged full price for the pancakes on the side of the omelette which we did not want anymore!! The manager was also a disgrace! I normally enjoy the cheesecake pancakes, the birthday pancakes were good too and I make my own omelette with Swiss cheese onion and peppers.
google avatar

Alexia H.

Yelp
Wow I hate this IHOP! The only redeeming qualities are the staff, they're really nice and they're 24 hours. The inside is gross and the delivery option is really unreliable. I tried it unsuccessfully twice and vowed to never do it again. I was never able to figure out if it was DoorDash or IHOP's fault but my food was never picked up for delivery so I was left wondering what happened to my meal BOTH TIMES! I had to call the restaurant to inquire, otherwise the food would have just waited there.

Houston P.

Yelp
Worst customer service, The fat host is rude and lazy .it was an 86 year Spanish lady sitting in the lobby. She yelled I've been here almost 30 minutes and nobody helped me . They ignored her ,I got frustrated and demanded them to help her
google avatar

Angel M.

Yelp
Would put no stars but at one point I actually liked this place The server was very disrespectful very rude took her over 30 minutes to come back to the table very unprofessional I come here a lot and never had this issue food look like trash
google avatar

Tiffany S.

Yelp
I'm not typically into chains, but I love this IHOP. I have been at least half a dozen times and just walk out happy every single time. It has a clean and efficient diner ambiance. I typically go earlier in the morning on Saturdays, like before 10 am and have never ever had to wait. The portions are huge so my hubby and I split a combo platter or whatever. It is perfect because we can get an good amount of sweet and savory to split. The service is friendly but the emphasis is on efficiency, which is honestly exactly what I want. The pancakes are always picture perfect fluffy. We usually pay extra on the combo plate to get one of the specialty pancakes like churro or cannoli or something. Ordering it on its own for myself would be waaaaay too much sweetness, but splitting is great. I particularly like things like the fajita or veggie omelets that I can cover in hot sauce. The omelets are always fluffy and thick in my experience. Overall, it is super budget friendly, filling and fast and easy and then I can get on with my weekend, which is why I go back.

Asia W.

Yelp
I went into the IHOP to simply pick up my order. I did not have a mask; however, when I asked for the mask the "manager" Mark was very rude and did not quickly provide one. My order had already been confirmed as ready I had to state my name multiple times and receive a mask from another person before Mark would give me the food I paid for. This place is very unprofessional!! I will also be calling your corporate office. He could have simply provided me a mask or handed me my food!

Nancy H.

Yelp
Wouldnt waste my time here the store isn't even clean! And the service is unmotivated. Waited for a while for someone to come out and no one ever did until I walked out and then I get asked if I still need to order lol who ever the manager is should reevaluate their work ethic. This IHOP use to be the best and now seems like covid is the excuse for poor customer service. This place is trash!

Gary B.

Yelp
One of the very best iHop's we've ever been to. Very clean, very friendly staff, fast service on a Monday morning. Great food and the background music is perfect for my wife who loves 70-80's love music. Ahh! Now off to the museums via the Metro subway. This iHop is very close to the Columbia Heights metro station.

Yelp
I came for the Brioche French toast but it no longer an option but I did get the original French toast and I can say soooooo bomb I'm not normally a fan of the hash browns but they are not half bad!!! Please bring back the Brioche French toast!!!! The restaurant was clean and the staff was extra friendly! I truly enjoyed my waitress!

Murad G.

Yelp
Firstly the manager was so unprofessional and foods aren't good. They don't know how to talk with the customers

Kristen H.

Yelp
Consistency is what it is all about! I know IHOP is a chain but it seems a lot of restaurants in the District try to put their own infusion or spin on breakfast and for us, we wanted a regular traditional breakfast. We ordered the breakfast sampler. 2 eggs, bacon, ham, hash browns, and 2 pancakes. It was delivered via Grubhub. Perfectly delightful. BTW- This was Columbia Heights IHOP.
google avatar

Gwo S.

Yelp
The food here was pretty normal for IHOP but the service and cleanliness of the restaurant left much to be desired. When we walked in, the guy at the counter was busy doing something on his phone. He asked us to wait until he finished and then proceeded to take us to the table nearest the restrooms?? The place was 95% empty so I don't know why he took us there. I really don't know what caused it because the restrooms smelled normal but there was a funny smelling odor everywhere in the restaurant. The waiter was ok, but the manager was very unprofessional and even gave me a little attitude just because I wanted to use a coupon I got on yelp. Anyway, the food was ok but I won't be back to this location.
google avatar

Anne J.

Yelp
Listen I'm giving them 2 stars. 1 Star for the food which is constant regardless of which location you go to and 1 Star for the waiter who attempted to be nice and funny. Now down to business, we sat down and when the waiter greeted us we immediately put our order in. Now we were there on a Sunday which means they were packed but like geezzzzz they took forever for the food. When we finally got our food we had no ustensiles to eat with so we asked 2 waiters to please bring us some only for the man who greeted us to finally bringing them to us smdh. We basically fought for our ustensiles, some ketchup, some sugar mannnnn anything we wanted and asked for took 5 min to get to ask and required 2 asks if not more.... Bref it's IHOP don't expect anything more than 2 star service
google avatar

Alexander G.

Yelp
The worst IHOP I would ever dine in. The staff here seems to have no education & no respect for themselves & especially no respect towards the people that done it. Expect to be ignored, unacknowledged & disrespected. I thank the Universal Divine Source that I won't have to ever lower myself to be in that level. There is no point! If your unhappy than quite!! Also, this IHOP seems to lack management & leadership skills. It definitely needs improvement. P.S. food might make you vomit as well.

Yelp
Went to iHop for a birthday breakfast. Not great, but not bad either. Service was good and speedy. I prefer waffles, but iHop doesn't sell them. I enjoyed the pancakes.

Yelp
Today was a brisk and drizzly Sunday, and we all figured it would be a great day for real breakfast food, even though it was 12pm. We were surprised to find out that we weren't the only ones who considered an all day breakfast would be a good thing. There were three of us, and it took us about 5 - 7 minutes to be seated. Even though I have never been a big fan of the cafeteria layout, we were seated close t the window, which wasn't that bad. The view was nice watching people walk past all bundled up trying to get to their place. It didn't take long for our Server to swing by and take our orders. I went for the smokehouse combo that included 2 sausage links and 2 sunny side eggs. Even though I'm a bigger fan of bacon, the sausage tasted pretty good. This com o also included a side of pancakes and hash browns. The actual combo with bacon strips and smaller pork sausage links was priced at $13,29 that was $.30 lower than the one I had ordered, and I did have some remorse. It all worked out for everyone, and we enjoyed our meals heartily!

Yelp
The absolute worst IHOP I've ever been in, the coffee mugs were dirty, the silverware was dirty, the food is nasty. Definitely the worst ihop in the country. if you are reading this.. it's not to late.. get out, I'm serious.

Yelp
I give 4.5 stars for this IHOP. 15-20 mins to wait for the table, which is not too bad. The drink and food came pretty quick. The service was good. We got a complimentary sundae ice cream by checkin in on Yelp. Awesome!

Yelp
This location is absolutely disgusting. The floors, the tables, the bathrooms - everything is disgusting. It's a disgrace. The place was 90% empty, so I don't know why no one was making any attempt to clean. Waiters were just sitting around on their phones. I'll never return to this location.

Yelp
I stopped in while visiting Washington D.C. the staff was very friendly and the service was ok. One good thing is they are open 24/7.

Yelp
I came to this IHOP after grabbing a drink from a local bar and was completely disgusted by the smell of this restaurant and the service I received. When I first entered, there was no one in the front to greet us and seat us at a table. The only good thing I could take from that was either an employee or a manager (who was off at the time because they were waiting for their ride) informed me that someone would arrive shortly. They could have easily ignored me and said to themselves that it wasn't their job to tell me anything because they were off. The hostess came out about 30 seconds later and showed us to a table. When we got to the table, I quickly glanced at the table to see if it was clean and it was two white stains on the table. The hostess made sure she placed the menus right ontop of the white spots, almost like she was trying to hide the appearance of the table. When she walked away, I removed the menus and ran my finger across the table. The white stains turned out to be little pieces of napkins stuck to the table. So that means the table was dirty and it wasn't clean. I immediately walked out and I told them they should be ashamed of themselves. I was furious that the hostess had the audacity to seat us at a dirty table. Instead of trying to look cute for everybody, she should have seated us at a clean table instead of a dirty table. There was no way she could have mistaken that table for being clean because she placed the menus right ontop of the white spots. It doesn't take much to immediately spray your tables down with disinfectant and wipe the tables clean. If this IHOP leaves their table dirty and seats the next person without wiping them down, there's no telling how nasty and dirty the kitchen is. I refuse to get sick from a restaurant that's showing me they're dirty before I even order my food.

Yelp
I was surprised by how pleasant my IHOP experience here was. Service was fairly courteous, minimal wait at 1pm on a Saturday, and food came out surprisingly quick. Otherwise it's your standard IHOP fare. Good coffee, tasty but unremarkable pancakes, reasonable prices. For those from outside DC the 14th Street NW corridor and Columbia Heights metro (right across the street) is still gentrifying and may seem a little rough to the out of town tourist but it's really a hot area right now and you will be fine, a very diverse neighborhood. Bustling on the weekend.
