The food was great. I had the eggplant parmigiana with potatoes, and we'll probably go with the pasta next time because my companions all had pasta and really loved it. The chocolate torte was delicious. Our server was very knowledgeable and patient with us. Will absolutely go back!

Amazing little spot, the food was excellent - the capellini, lasagna, carbonara, and arugula pizza were amazzinggg. We also got to try one of the specials of the day - a prosciutto, melon, arugula salad which was also great (: the tiramisu and cannolis were soso good 🩷our server was amazing as well ⭐️✨ we would come back anytime!! I love it! It's a family, neighborhood place in a place where it's really rare. Tatiana is the hostess with the mostest, friendly and lovely. She steered us to two rigatoni, the Norcina and the Antonio, that we shared and really enjoyed. Bread was great, too, and they draw an excellent espresso . Would love to come back for more of their pasta and to try their Marsala chicken, the parpadelle Bolognese, and the panna cot.

My husband and I have been coming here for over 30 years and we love it. He really like the Penne Arribiata and I love the clam pasta. Today I had this great pizza❤️ This is a family owned and operated cafe and is not some bland chain. Excellent food and great family!

Wow was this a great dinner. We enjoyed great service, delicious food, and an all around wonderful time here. We sat outside on their lovely little front patio, were greeted promptly by the server, and seamlessly went through courses. From appetizers to dessert nothing disappoints. They had a great selection of classics and a nice variety of specials. The pricing was also fair and reasonable for a home cooked, fresh Italian meal.

We ate here last week. The staff was so hospitable. We split the pasta, so the photo is only half of the dish. The salad and wine were divine. This place needs more reviews, because we had an amazing experience. You will not regret a dinner here.

I just recently went to Il Capriccio for dinner. My partner and I had a very nice time! We were able to split a salad as an appetizer. We were also provided with bread and some sort of oil spread which was very nice. My partner got the pasta with clams and garlic. I tried it and it was delicious. I had the pollo dish which had a Gorgonzola and mushroom sauce. It was very good! And the side of vegetables that it came with were very good as well. They were cooked with garlic but it was subtle. Lastly, the service was very good. The employees were attentive to our needs. It had been a while since we last went to this restaurant. I look forward to the next time!

I'll Capriccio is and continues to be our go to place for celebrating a special occasion. The food is amazing. They take such great care with ingredients and the flavor. It always has the best specials. The wait staff is terrific and will always know to recommend the most popular and exquisite dishes. The ambiance is fun. I've seen celebs and locals commingling. Dim lighting is best for a fabulous date night. Trust the recommendations, drink the wine and enjoy a special evening at Il Capriccio. You're worth it.

This place needs to be protected at all cost! There is no better authentic Italian! The rigatoni norcina is heavenly! I mean my sister drives well over an hour to get it and I take it when she misses it! Service here is phenomenal! They are always friendly. It is a tiny small Restaurant but it's cozy, clean, and authentic! There is nothing on their menu I have not loved! A must try place for sure!

I love love love pasta!! Pasta is one my favorite food. This place is amazing. Went here for my birthday with my family. We got pasta and pizza. We all got each pasta and we all loved it. Definitely coming back here. My favorite Rigatoni Norcina and spaghetti carbonara but I love all of their pasta. Our sever was amazing. There was homeless interrupting our dinner but our lady was able to handle it herself. Street parking only.

Great food, great service. Convenient valet parking. Always an enjoyable evening. Even a heater if you want to sit outside.

The food and bread were delicious. Attended a party and the food was catered in. This is how I discovered it Capriccio. I could only rate the food not the ambiance since I've never been to their restaurant.

This is a small, seemingly family-run Italian restaurant in a busy part of Vermont, across from the Dresden Room. There is street parking only, and just a few outdoor tables are on a small streetside patio. The inside is long and narrow. The food was good - not amazing. The prices were similar to other local Italian restaurants in 2024/2025 - pastas that should be $14-$17 are now $22-$25. They have pizza and some homemade desserts. I don't know if I would make this a destination, but if in the area, it's good for a yummy traditional Italian meal!

I love an authentic Italian place. Amazing food and service. I arrived without a reservation as a party of five and was seated within minutes. Our server was lovely and offered great recommendations. All the food we had was impeccable. Everything was worth the price.

Hands down the best Italian cuisine in town. Everything from the food , the service, the atmosphere, the location, the staff, to the absolutely excellent . My favorite dish is their gnocchi and I always ask for their homemade Ricotta cheesecake, don't miss their Panna Cotta it's the best. Everytime I go I'm greeted with the warmest welcome and I have to say Tiziana is what makes their Guests Experience impeccable and makes me want to come back.

Some friends and I were heading to a show at the Greek Theater. Looking for a place to eat before it started we came across Il Capriccio. The space is small, but never felt cramped or overcrowded. The service was quick and the food they brought out was filling and delicious. For proximity to the Greek, it's right down the street. If you're looking for good food before a show, or before a night out in Los Feliz I'd highly recommend giving this restaurant a try. For parking: There's usually street parking available in the area, but if for whatever reason an open spot is hard to come by Il Capriccio has a valet option as well.

Best Chicken Marsala I've ever had! The quality of all the dishes we ordered was exceptional. I could eat the marinara sauce as a soup! The service was top notch, they were very attentive and kind. The ambiance feels very homey and intimiate. Surprised it wasnt more packdd. We were visiting from Chicago and will frequent again when we return!

We've been celebrating our anniversary here for the last few years. Service is always impeccable and the food is always mouth-watering. It's romantic but not pretentious and we always feel welcome.

Things have changed a bit since this first review. The menu has been pared down quite a bit since the pandemic. Lots of the things I loved are now gone. The dip is gone, lots of appetizers gone, fish dishes gone (only as a special ) ... my delicious salmon was not there. Just a few main courses. Thank goodness the spinach fettuccini with mushrooms was there and delicious as always. My friend got cod special ($38) and I got chicken Parmesan, just ok. Salad was good. Service was nice and gifted us dessert for my friends birthday. Salad, pasta, 2 glasses wine, (they were out of the only 2 Tuscan reds on the menu ) 2 mains $150.

Drove 30 miles to try this restaurant after seeing it featured on KTLA. Thought the owner could have at least said hello. Waitress was fantastic. The food was pretty good. We ordered lasagna, which was the best of the dishes we ordered. Also ordered Ravioli, gnocchi and cesar salad. Ravioli had great flavor, wish they were filled more. Ravioli portion size is too small. Gnocchi and salad were yummy so was the fresh bread. Took over an hour to get our food though. We all ordered dessert. Tiramisu needed more cream Apple tart was delicious Cannoli not good, something in it left an after taste. Plus, ricotta isn't shiny not sure what was in the filling.

Why did it take me so long to visit Il Capriccio? We popped in on a weekday and sat at the bar. Ella was kind and fun. We ordered the rigatoni norcina, chicken parm and salscicia pizza. Everything was nicely portioned and delicious - not heavy. You really get a warm neighborhood feel in here. Will def be back! There's valet parking on the side of the building or you'll have to find metered/street parking nearby.

We had a small birthday dinner party for my wonderful wife. We had a wide range of entrees from lasagne to chicken piccata I had one of the daily specials- pork chops filled with Gorgonzola - with sautéed vegetables with pasta. We had a Caesar salad and mozzarella appetizer for enjoyable beginning to the meal Finished with crème brûlée and cannolis Great cup of American cafe - bold taste and hot! Overall food was tasty and good size portions Service was punctual but chaotic in regards to minor error in order accuracy and balancing table assignments. Two servers running indoor and out Valet parking lot but street parking was available on a Sunday night

Did they change ownership? Been eating there since they were over on Hyperion, now 25+ years ago. It had always been our go--to Italian, reliable, friendly, tasty. Last night, service was indifferent, pasta was over-cooked and oversauced. Menu seemed to have been pruned down by 50%. What happened?

I used to live in LA. And this was my favorite restaurant! I haven't been back here since 2015. I came back to visit friends and the first place I took my husband to dinner was Il Capriccio! The calamari and the Rigatoni Antonio were always my go to's and even a few years later they did not disappoint! I started coming here in 2013 and to have this amount of consistency...even after what I can only imagine were a hard couple of years...is amazing. We will be back again and I know it will just as good next time we get here. Ambiance is very cozy. The neighborhood around it is also laid back and fun to explore.

This is the most fantastic restaurant. We were an hour late due to a graduation event running late and they kindly still accommodated us and went out of their way to serve us even though we were edging up on closing time. The food was delicious and the bread and tapenade that kept coming was a huge delight for the teens. The service and care is exceptional. I only wish we lived closer!

This used to be my favorite neighborhood Italian restaurant. It was busy and the servers were really great and the food was wonderful. I haven't been here since before the pandemic and a lot has changed. They redecorated which looks great. The tables are still wobbly. I was there on a Tuesday night around 7pm and I was the only customer and it was a very dead vibe. When I got there I thought they were closed. You still get bred with this olive dip which is nice. I elected to get the Chicken special - Chicken breast in a cream sauce with peas and prosciutto. The meal was really disappointing. The chicken breast was moist but it was a small portion. The cream sauce was tasteless. I heard the cook ask my server what was in the sauce. You get 3 small slivers of potatoes and overcooked vegetables. I used to love their chicken dishes when they did bone in and I didn't mind waiting. They used to have large portions. What I got was not worth the price at all. Anyways... now I'm searching for a new favorite neighborhood Italian restaurant.

Coming from the observatory looking for Italian food, we came down Vermont and saw Capriccio on Vermont and decided to walk in. The customer service was top notch, warm and friendly. This is how a restaurant is supposed to be. Warm hospitality. We felt at home here. The food was all homemade, we as perfect to taste, flavor, temperature and presentation. A shout out to the cook and especially our server tiziana. If you have a chance this is a place I highly recommend. Eat at Capriccio on Vermont.

We had a wonderful dinner at Il Capriccio prior to our concert at the Greek theater. We were greeted with a friendly smile, they let us choose our table and recommended some wonderful, tasty dishes. Everything we ate was incredibly good! We utilized the parking during the concert and it worked out great. We were back to collect our car by 11 PM. No problem. Our wonderful, hostess and waitress, Ms. T, was most accommodating! We all highly recommend this wonderful and friendly restaurant!

Food was very tasty. Most mains in the $20 range which is fair for the quality. Did not appreciate however the waitress trying to sell a veal special without mentioning the price. I asked and it was $42, well out of the range of the ordinary menu. She should not have forced us to ask. In addition, the wines are woefully expensive pushing $20 /glass figuring in tax and tip. Better to bring your own bottle and pay corkage.

The food is incredible and the staff and service is amazing. Their linguini vongole is divine. Desserts are a must have.

Fantastic authentic italian food w friendly service to match. Homemade pastas and delicious chicken dishes. The cannolis are great too! Highly recommend and well priced for LA.

Very nice waitress. The atmosphere was very pretty sat outside. The food was good but the sauces were very heavy 3 dif pastas and all heavy but the calamari was amazing lightly breaded. That said I would go back and order something with a lighter sauce. The portions were generous and the price reasonable.

The angel hair pasta with basil garlic and olive oil and mozzarella cheese was delicious. The margarita pizza isn't impressive Smallish seating area The service was ok but could use some TLC

This place is amazing! We had a reservation that we had to push back due to personal reasons but the hosts were super helpful and understanding. Upon arriving, we were seated right away and was introduced the specials for the day. When asked what wine would go well with a dish I wanted to try, their recommendation was great, loved the wine! We ended up ordering the ink pasta, salad, calamari, and a garlic-y pizza (sorry I couldn't remember/find the menu names!) However, the ink pasta was really tasty. Personally I like a little more umph/spice so I added some pepper and that made it all the better! The calamari was really crispy and the sauce it came with was very different from other places so it was interesting yet delicious. (A type of marinara sauce with a bit of spice on the bottom.) Lastly, the garlic-y pizza was so amazing! I don't really care for pizza but it smelled so good and when I took a bite out of the melty goodness, there were so many amazing flavors that mixed so well together! On top of the amazing food the service was amazing. Everyone was really helpful, polite and genuinely seemed to care that you were enjoying your time. I would definitely come back again to try all their other food! Give them a try if you are in the area, you won't regret it!

11/10 best place for Italian food that gives you that comfy home vibe. Indoor seating is pretty small and limited but worth the wait, there is also outdoor seating. Caprese salad was a little too tasteless for my preference but still amazing. I ordered the parmigiana di pollo with a side of pasta and potatoes and it was the best dish ever. We also ordered Lasagna, Gnocchi, and the fish special (all not pictured) which were equally as amazing. Will definitely be returning. Waitress was extremely helpful and made my experience over the top!

We have been coming to this wonderful restaurant for 10 years in a row now, and we absolutely love it! When I love so much, beyond the food, that's incredibly flavorful! It's the people that help you to feel so special when you come here, and then you get surprised with every bite that you chew into. So tonight, is Valentines, we come here every year for Valentines for about eight years in a row now, and tonight was the first night we tried the cream puffs, Talk about a dessert that has multiple flavors and every bite, I almost said no to the invitation. I'm so glad we said yes. We highly recommend, coming here, it is truly one of the best kept secrets of Italian food in all of Los Angeles! You're going to love it here!!! You have to see Tiziana - talk about beautiful!!!!!!

This place is so charming! Was east to walk in on a Friday night and get a table for two. The pasta is defiantly not homemade. But was good for the price point.

Went on Labor Day for dinner. Small intimate cozy restaurant. Not super busy. Fast friendly service. The fettuccine verde was super good. The sauce is delicious. Tiramisu also very good.

Come on please stop serving such small portions. Just ate the ravioli I've been getting from you forever. I'm still hungry. My husband isn't really gonna keep agreeing with me to dine with you if we both leave hungry. Raise the prices whatever, but these portions suck. Bring back the Goat Cheese Salad please!!! You are gonna lose all your longtime lovers, you can see that by the reviews. I love staying local and sticking to who's been here first. But this isn't gonna be end well for Il Cappricio and I love you. Or even serve half (which is what these serving are) and full orders.

I'm so torn my gosh I don't know what to do haha! If I was to come back based off of the service I would never ever EVA return lol... but damn it...my "squid ink" pasta (not what it's called in the menu btw) was amazing!!! The bread and olive oil spread and calamari was divine and I had two heavy glasses of red wine. I would say come in a good mood leave in a great mood come in a bad mood leave with a good mood if that makes any sense.

I came here expecting a good meal but found steel wool in my squid ink pasta not once, but TWICE. The first time, they brought the pasta back and remade it, but I found it AGAIN in the second plate. Once I can forgive, but TWICE? That's pretty inexcusable. It's one thing to dislike the food, but to encounter a health and safety hazard like that which could have done some serious damage is completely unforgivable. I came here expecting a dinner, not a trip to the ER! Come on, now.
