The Best Italian Bakeries for Late-Night Pastries in Rome | Eater

"A long-running cornetti bakery run by Antonio Schina that specializes in filled cornetti offered in every flavor imaginable — from Kinder Bueno to fresh cream, Nutella, pistachio cream and strawberry jelly. The cornetti are made with margarine rather than butter, yielding a lighter texture that the owner celebrates as ideal for late-night multiple-helping sessions. The place has an easy, inclusive atmosphere with seating where visitors can enjoy their pastry alongside a beer and an espresso." - Lara Gilmour

Open to the wee hours of the night. This bakery makes all manner of sweet and savoury treats. Of note are the wide variety of tasty cornetti. Skip the touristy areas and come sample where the real Romans come and indulge.

Coffee was great cut the croissants were terrible. Tasted factory made without butter, rather a lard or vegetable oil. No selection either. Nothing like it was pre pandemic. Made a special trip and will never go again.

a very nice place, but if in Rome, there are much better places with amazing sweets and coffee ☕🥐

Verry verry dissapointed at the service here, extremely rude, aggressive tone. We clearly showed them our green pass on our phones but just because our QR codes dont work here at Rome, had us sitting outside in the freezing cold weather. They sent us outside to speak to the police that was outside of the shop but the police turned out worse than these guys here, no english, no manners, no help and rolled up the window on us as i was standing there trying to get help. After all this the food no longer tested nice.

Yelp
Bonjourno!! It was our first official day in Italy yesterday and like all good tourists we spent the evening discovering Rome. We were extremely jet lagged and exhausted and ready to see our bed when we stopped by il Cornettone at 2am. We quickly learned that they open late (around 10pm) and stay open all night making the most delicious croissants. The place was packed and definitely for good reason. We had the plain Nutella croissant and my oh my was it ever delicious. The croissant was flaky and dusted with some icing sugar. It had a pleasant lemony flavour and then came the Nutella. Needless to say we enjoyed every last bite. The bakery had an array of parties to choose from including croissants, sandwiches and some pastries I was too tired to learn the name of. This is definitely a place you want to stop by with a big appetite :)
