This cozy West Village eatery serves up a delightful mix of baked pasta, pizzas, and Italian favorites in an inviting, homey atmosphere.
"If you’re an Italian restaurant and you want to stand out in the West Village, you have to be different. Like Pasta Al Forno. This place is smaller than the smallest apartment you can legally rent in NYC, and it mostly just serves baked pasta. The menu has things like timpano (which looks sort of like a bundt cake made out of ziti and mozzarella), timballo (similar, but with beef ragu and hard boiled eggs), and some extremely heavy lasagna that deserves a few moments of your time. Also, it’s BYOB. Stop by for a super casual meal the next time you’re wandering around the West Village and don’t have the strength to wait for a table at Via Carota." - Bryan Kim
