IL FORNO PIZZERIA

One of the best on the island for sure. Grew up eating Il Fornos pizza back when it was in Brooklyn. Finding it again in Staten Island was a great treat. Family owned, everyone is welcoming warm. Food there is absolutely amazing from all their pizza, specials, and even wings. My wife is pregnant and all she has been craving is their pizza, wings and vodka sauce. 10/10 would recommend. Great food, great price and great service

IL Forno is a small pizzeria on the South Shore and has some of the best pizza in NYC. I came here because of Anthony Demontes positive review. I was hoping to try their fresh mozzarella slice but they didn’t have it so I got the Upside Down Square Pizza. The sauce to cheese ratio was perfect and the sauce had a great taste. Their prices also very reasonable and the guy working there was pretty nice.

I’m so glad I don’t easily get persuaded by negative reviews, to be honest, it makes me want to try it for myself to see if I agree. Thank you Ellie! Everything I ordered for family was fresh and tasted absolutely divine. Their upside down squares were a hit! You won’t be disappointed.

Really solid pizza, love the vodka slice in particular.

Pizza was terrible, would not order again. I ordered from here only once and that was months ago. Pizza was delivered barely lukewarm and looked incredibly unappetizing. The worst part is these guys have me on their messaging list and you can’t opt out of their messages. Stop messaging one-time customers because it’s very annoying and only turns people away from your business. If you’re messaging one-time customers from ages ago, that speaks volumes about how bad your pizza is and how poor business is doing.

these 5 star reviews have to be fake. the upside down pie literally looked as if someone turned it upside down. sauce was watery and runny. sauce was only on half the pie. chicken roll was inedible. cheese looked like yellow plastic with frozen, perdue chicken inside. couldn’t eat any of it. truly AWFUL

I got the upside down square pie and me and my daughter loved it. Was delicious and nice size had leftover for next day and taste great like that too. Alot of the other food on the menu are good too. Nice pizzeria

Don't waste your time or money!! The food was gross, the crust was stale and the garlic nots were cold and also stale. The pizza was soggy and drenched in sauce to the point where it's all you tasted and it was not even a good sauce it was way over sweet and not I what I look for in a sauce. It took like 20 minutes to get our food and it was a medium amount of people in there. I would say the only reason this place gets two stories is because it looked nice and well presented on the outside, the inside was well ehhh. If you want a better authentic pizza place in S.I. I recommend deninos!

Had delivery last night. We had a regular pie with olives, a Sicilian pie and what they call a Brooklyn pie. Delivery was prompt. All the pies were delicious! The Brooklyn pie boasts a sesame crust, fresh mozzarella, and fresh slices of tomato. Different and delicious. We'll be back

Everything this Pizzaria has is great. Tried this for the first time and it is absolutely delicious. Keep up the good work guys.

An hour and a half wait to get cold, crap pizza. If that's your thing, order from here. Got a large round and a sicilan. The Sicilian only had 10 slices, instead of the typical 12. The sauce was disgusting and there was barely enough cheese (picture of a slice attached). My daughter had to actually cook hot dogs because the pizza wasnt edible to her. Never again! They could say they will give me a free order and I'd still say no, keep it!

BANGING Upside Down slice! The sauce was on point -100% My son and I stood outside and ate our slices standing up and both agreed it was better than (cough-cough), you know who. Keep up the good work, John.

Pizza took over an hour to deliver, was cold, and undercooked. The crust was mushy and wet in places. Also, their Sicilian pie is much smaller than most other places. Not to mention this food made me have to run to the bathroom soon after eating it. Overall, not very flavorful, and unimpressed.

The bottom line is that Johnny the owner makes the best squares especially the upside down squares on the island hands-down.Great family run Pizzeria and he's not overpriced.Superfast deliveries with well mannered delivery person now Superfast deliveries with well mannered delivery personnel...

the best famous upside i ever tasted you will not be dissappointed.you will see pictures of their other home made items such as garlic knots always fresh and make sure you get a side of sauce if your like me you love to dip them

This is a great, cozy little pizzeria right off of the Pleasant Plains stop on the SIR. I happened upon it by chance and the only thing I regret is not ordering some zeppoles. Stop by for a quick, very moist, tasty slice if you're in this part of Staten Island.

The lovely owner Gwen was really quick and eager to help out resolving my issues! If I get a chance I certainly will give it another shot. -------- As astounding and insane this might sound, this is the part of Staten Island I have never set foot on before. Knowing that no matter how bad it is, the Italian food on the island can't be too far off the track, I decided to give it a shot when I saw so many happy faces commenting on their food. We had a bit of everything, Sicilian slices, a calzone, a hero, and hell, even a pasta. They didn't catch all of our orders but they didn't overcharge so I guess so be it. They all tasted authentic, though you certainly have had better - or maybe it's because it was more or less during their "down" hours when we made a huge order. I think it will be hard to make mistakes on their menu, none of the food we had was spectacular, but none of them was a turn-off either. I'd go again if I just want something plain and simple and get the job done.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We traveled all the way from Dallas because of this place and it did not disappoint. We've eaten at so many places in the city and nothing compares to this place. The food is life changing, I would love to take it back home to Dallas with me. I don't think I'll ever be able to eat pasta or pizza anywhere else. The garlic knots just melt in your mouth and the upside down pizza is like nothing I've ever tried before in my life. Wow!!

It baffles me how they have 4 and half stars. Pizza was undercooked and flavorless. Put the pie in my oven for 10 mins that's how undercooked it was. I also had to use red pepper, garlic, oregano to get some flavor going. mozzarella sticks I'm pretty sure they were microwaved and were inedible. I wouldn't even feed them to my dog honestly took one bite and threw them in the garbage. Just terrible never again.

This guy makes a pizza that tastes as good as pizza from 30 years ago! Loaded with cheese, great tomato sauce. I recommend

The closest thing to Brooklyn Pizza on Staten Island. PERIOD!!!! I've never had a bad anything from here!!! I can't say enough good things about Il Forno Pizzeria!!! If you want Brooklyn Pizza without going to Brooklyn, then this is the place to go!!! TRUST ME, you won't regret it!!!

I've had a bunch from them and everything's amazing but the upside down is really what you need to order. The best around.

My favorite pizzeria in the area. Ordered a vodka slice and a white slice today. Everything is always fresh and nice and hot. Prices are great for the quality of food and the amount of food you get. Thank you John and staff for a great lunch!

Yummy pizza, however the dough is a bit on the thick side for my taste. The vodka sauce is good. If I'm to order from here again, I would try only the food

Great guys & service with a smile when your there! Their slices are perfect! I was expecting maybe some left over right around their closing time.. but lucked out got some good new slices! Worth the trip & the food!

Not very many slice options, the slices were slightly dry and over cooked! I didn't hate the place, but the other two guys I was with were very discontent. On that other hand, the garlic knots were great.

Great restaurant , great owner! Greets everyone and is very polite. I've eaten pizza all throughout New York But this little place in Staten Island is by far the best. Get yourself the "upside down" pie you won't regret it !

It's hard for me to understand these raving reviews. While the crust is certainly crispy enough, there was hardly any cheese or sauce on the very small slice. Not that it really mattered,because the cheese,and sauce, was mediocre at best. The store, and the bathroom are kept very clean, which is why I give it two stars,instead of one.A neighbor who used to go here very often, said they were in this pizza place last week, and thought it had gone down hill.

Best regular & Sicilian slice on Staten Island. It's not thin crust or a specialty slice. Just a real deal Brooklyn slice of pizza. The regular slices are nice and crispy and the Sicilian sauce is just delicious. The price is right too.

Hands down the best pizza on the Island. Have been ordering from there since the place opened years ago. There are other pizzerias in the vicinity, but they just don't come close. Their pasta dinners are also really really good as well. My wife and kids love their chicken rolls. John(the owner) is a very nice guy who greets his customers by name as they walk in. I go there on a regular basis and don't intend to switch it up elsewhere. I've had friends and family switch from their existing favorite pizzerias to Il Forno. Happy eating!!

Once more we ordered from Il Forno. We deviated from pizza. We decided to try their rolls. To the uninitiated, a roll is (approximately) a hero sized tube of baked dough filled with all kinds of meats, cheese and or veggies. For example, we decided to get an assortment, we ordered sausage and pepper rolls, chicken parm rolls, eggplant, etc. We had a total of twenty. The rolls were filled with plenty of "stuff". They were well done but not burned. As far as assortment, the menu tells the whole tale. We all enjoyed the rolls. There's really no better judge than your tastebuds. Good job.

Simply the best Sicilian on the island and one of the best in the city. This little gem of pizzeria will satisfy your slice square or regular cravings. The crust is phenomenal as well. The delivery is also super quick!

A family favorite. We have tried literally every pizzeria in area and beyond and no one beats Il Forno! Best pizza - from crust to toppings. We love it. Quick, friendly delivery and friendly service when we do pick ups as well. I do miss the coupons on pizza boxes for free pies and the guess a number game at the store. We actually guessed the number once and got our pie free! Always have deals too. AND def try the grandma pie!

Fantastic pizza. The crust tastes almost like a buttered bagel. It's delicious and pretty quick with delivery. The marinara sauce on the spaghetti is awesome!! Definitely something to try.

Excellent Sicilian pies! I'm pretty picky when it comes to Sicilians, I absolutely love divincis in Brooklyn, and never find anything close to it. Until this place!! Parking is a little tricky, but we took it to go and the pizza was even better once we popped it in the oven, and enjoyed it in our own home. Sauce was delicious, perfectly melted mozzarella, nice guys behind the counter, clean place, overall excellent. The only other items I've tried were the sausage roll and broccoli rabe roll. Both amazing! Cooked throughout, great dough, great flavor. Can't wait for my next Sicilian pie!

Hard for me to say this but I must be true to my yelpers. Don't ever order on Sat night pizza came with flat tasting dough and the pizza was oval shaped and they folded it over to fit in the box. I think it's a different pizza man on sat night-cause the bland pizza happened 2x

I have been getting my pizza from il forno for several years, I order a delicious pie last week. But no more, over the weekend we ordered several pies reg. & sicilian pies, they were awful. I don't think they cooked them all the way. We will not be getting our pie from il forno again!!

Extremely rude service. Just called to order a breadcrumb pie that was listed on their menu. We order from them all the time. The guy on the phone told me it would take an hour. After we told him we don't mind waiting, he said it was going to take 2 hours to make. Even though that alone is ridiculous we still said we would wait for the pie. He then said well I don't want you to complain when you have to wait. I questioned if he didn't want to make it or what the problem was, I then told him to cancel the order and he hung up. How does someone run a business like this. How can you be rude to a loyal customer like that especially when they are willing to wait. Will never order from them again after this.

the pizza was burned the bottom and the crust was black because he was talking to some and forget about it and when i open it at home i got a good re view from my kids thanks a lot first and last time

Good Sicilian slices and better spaghetti then other pizza places around but while not perfect if they're not careful another pizza place could make better spaghetti. From what I tasted it is good.
