Came here on an early Sunday evening for dinner, feeling nostalgic. After all, this place has been around forever. And not to be funny, but apparently so have many of the patrons. Come here if you want to feel young.
It's somewhat crowded with an older crowd, to be sure. But hunger knows no age, so here we are. It's colder here, but that's because it's right on the oceanfront strip. We get seated in a small table, which is fine. But then our waitress reseats us for some unknown reason. By the time we are settled in, my stomach acids are starting to eat away at my esophagus. Not really, but you get what I'm saying. Service isn't really on the ball tonight, and it's a shame.
We finally got our cocktails, which are amazing!!! Best part of the meal. My salad, on the other hand, was mid at best. I mean, there's literally one tomato, one cucumber slice on top of lettuce. Oh, and did I mention a small side of blue cheese is $3?!
Main entrees were both veal, definitely paled in comparison to Razzos in Norfolk. Overpriced and under seasoned.
I wish I could say we had a better time with dessert, but nope! It's not even 8pm, and they're already out of the Napoleon cake. I finally settled for the strawberry triple with some Buffalo Trace coffee, which was good. However, I was more than a bit turned off by the fact that dessert came from the same area as the dirty dishes. Ugh!!!
I'm all about second chances, so it's likely I'll be back. It's just a matter of how soon.
