Il Mulino Prime

I had previously visited Il Mulino Prime in SoHo and left feeling underwhelmed, but I recently returned and had an entirely different experience—one that deserves a rave review. From the moment I walked in, the service was impeccable. The staff was warm, attentive, and welcoming, ensuring that every detail of our dining experience was exceptional. The cocktails were just as delightful as I remembered, but this time, the food truly lived up to the restaurant’s reputation. Every dish was executed beautifully, from presentation to flavor, and it was clear that the kitchen took great pride in their craft. More importantly, the hospitality made all the difference. Instead of feeling like an afterthought, we were treated with genuine care and enthusiasm, making the evening an absolute pleasure. It’s always refreshing to see a restaurant not only deliver on quality but also create an atmosphere where every guest feels valued. I’ll definitely be returning after this experience.

What a treat! Im not really an “out to dinner person” but i care to start treating myself more and since food is great love of mine; i thought I’d make it a habit to try different food spot. It was my first time trying this place but I passed it while walking the neighbors and thought it’d be nice to try out. They did NOT disappoint. I made a reservation for 4:30 pm because it was a fair enough dinner time for me and i saw they had a pre fixed dinner with options that i liked as well as a happy hour. I showed up with a cupcake since I was celebrating my birthday and they quickly seated me and acknowledged the occasion when seeing the cupcake. I ordered the Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe as the apetizer which was creamy, perfectly seasoned for my taste but i would skip it if you arent into a pepper taste. I sipped the best old fashioned i ever had while I waited for the next course, which is saying a lot from me since it is my favorite drink. For the next course I ordered the NY Strip since Prime was the main reason i decided to try out this place. I asked the waiter if how does he recommend the steak and he answered medium but i decided on medium rare since it is what im used to. It was fantastic but i think next time I’ll be curious to try medium. I had to get another old fashioned with my steak since it was soo good and it was just as good as the first. Extra points for consistency. I finished off with a strawberry shortcake and i truly had no expectations for this part of the meal since I’ve already show up with my favorite cupcake which they kindly lit for me and wished me a Happy Birthday but this Strawberry Shortcake was truly phenomenal. It was thick and fluffy but also juicy like a Tres Leches cake. I will definitely be back for another night. Thank you for the experience.

In town traveling and decided to stop in for lunch. Luis took care of us for lunch and we had an absolutely spectacular experience. Our cocktails were perfectly balanced and delightful. From apps to dessert, every forkful was magic. Cannot recommend it enough!

This review is definitely long overdue. What an awesome dining experience! My girlfriends and I dined at the restaurant during a NYC trip in September. Great food, drinks and fabulous warm staff who made us feel like family. We're looking forward to returning later this year in August or September.

I came here for my restaurant week tour. And I’m glad I did. The service was impeccable. The playlist was nice. The staff was nicely dressed, extremely polite and professional. And really attentive, I dropped my silverware on the floor and as soon as it hit the floor I saw out the corner of my eye one of the staff putting together new silverware to bring over to me. They give a really nice complimentary basket of sautéed eggplant, bread, olives and cheese. And the food came out very quickly. The only thing I would change is no vegetables paired with the steak dinner. I would add a couple of stalks of asparagus for good measure. Other than that, I’m really pleased and happy I visited this restaurant today. I look forward to being back!

I stumbled upon Il Mulino during a hot summer day and it turned out to be the BEST decision ever. The bright interior made it feel welcoming and the staff's warmth made the experience even better! The food was flavorful and I loved the breadsticks and charcuterie they served. As a pescatarian, I couldn't try their steak, but their dishes were top-notch (which I forgot the names to them -- but definitely get the Grilled Octopus!) If you're looking for an Italian food experience, Il Mulino is the place to go!

As good as it gets, great food, service, atmosphere. Dover sole was great, everyone enjoyed their meal. We come here quite often, whether for business or leisure. Great spot.

Five stars! The service is top notch. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we were treated like royalty. The table received a condiment tray with olives, an eggplant spread and radishes. They also left a bread plate with the most delicious focaccia I've ever had. We also ordered the prosciutto and fig plate. The figs were so fresh and plump and the prosciutto was A+ imported ham that was the perfect accompaniment to the figs. My chicken parmigiana fit the entire plate. I ordered a side of linguine with red sauce that was one of the best in NYC! Our table also ordered Chilean sea bass and prime rib. The amount of food provided was enough for twice the people at our table. From start to finish, this was a delicious experience and I'm looking forward to returning!!

This restaurant is really charming. I'm really unsure of why it doesn't have at least a solid four stars. The service was impeccable. It was honestly a very good experience. The decor was lovely and charming. The octopus the steak, the crabcake, they knocked it out of the park.

This was a phenomenal meal with amazing wine list. I wish the prices weren't quite as staggering especially for those of us on our own without a dining partner.

I loved the food here it was amazing! The service be ambience the waiters the wine list and it was so intimate and quiet Great place to bring a date I will definitely be going back. Definitely try The tomato salad and the New York strip was perfect A friend of mine had the pork chop perfect as well and my other friend had the oxtail ragu which I need to get next time I go. Definitely check out the menu and see what you like you would definitely have a favorite.

Friday night dinner around 7pm, not too busy. Sat outside and was the only table. Service was great at the beginning and then started to wane. Ordered wine and steak, didn't expect to have a mini meat & cheese board show up, and didn't eat too much as I needed to save room for the steak. Steak arrived and was delicious as anticipated with truffle butter and I love truffle butter. Brussel sprouts seemed more boiled vs roasted without a real good char on the outside and minimal crunch. After the food arrived is when the service disappeared. Even after the meal was done and glass of wine empty, I had to call someone over to provide the check. I'd maybe try at a busier time where other tables are outside as I think the table was 'forgotten'.

SO great! I went here for NYC restaurant week and absolutely loved it. Was able to get an app, entree and dessert for $60. Would highly recommend splitting the cacio e Pepe and strip as both were delicious. We also did the $30 wine pairing which was a nice added bonus. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about everything.

These guys are great. The rib-eye steak is awesome, among many other things on their menu. The service is terrific. Quite expensive and can be loud on the weekends, but to me it's worth it. Excellent, fun bartenders, too. They treat everyone with respect.

We came to Il Mulino Prime to celebrate Christmas Eve and they went above and beyond to accommodate our requests- created additional seating at our table and even allowed our little pug dine in with us. The food and the service were excellent and the ambiance was Christmassy and festive. We were a party of eight and every dish we tried was delicious and amazing. My truffle ravioli dish was absolutely sublime. Loved everything about this place! We dined at the Miami location several times before so we were really excited to try the Soho store. We were not disappointed!

This is a small and cozy place with a lot of ambience. We sat at the bar and had a drink before we moved to a table for dinner. Our lobster salad was fantastic, the truffle patatine was excellent and we loved the NY Strip (shared). Yes, we will be back!

We came here for restaurant week and the foods did not disappoint! We were seated by the windows which gave us great lighting and enjoyed our lunch while watching the street. Everything we ordered came out great! Next time we will definitely need to try the steak because the table next to us have it and it looks so mouth watering. On the down it seems like there was only one waiter when we arrived and we had trouble waving him down for water since it got pretty busy.

Great combo of the Il Mulino food & service in a casual/cool atmosphere. Start with the "off-the-menu" three-pasta sampler & proceed from there.

Food was fantastic as was Luis our Maitre D! I had the classic Caesar Salad, the Tagliatelle Bolognes, and the Tiramis. It was superb. It's not just the food that was superb... it was the entire dining experience. The service, the attention to detail, and Luis had a class and elegance that reminded me of what and how fine dining should be and is at Il Mulino Prime.

Very average nothing crazy food. Can't say I was wowed by anything. Place is very very tiny. Service was great though. Drinks are good too. If you're in the area it's nice to pop in for some food. It's not one of those places you travel to if you're outside of the city.

Didn't give us the restaurant week menu. Pretended not to know about it and some BS that you had to book a special way. RW menu has items not on the regular menu like tagliatelle bolognese and we weren't even offered it. Gave it a try anyway and they didn't give any of the free hors deourves - no free cheese or mushrooms etc like they used to. At full price I expect they would give the hors deourves but they acted like we were given the restaurant week menu when we were not

Excellent service, food and location. We thought we were in Italy. The food here is that amazing made from scratch. Great size portions, great wine list and great service. It is a very small restaurant, but they try and accommodate indoors and outdoors. Weather permitting. If you're in the Soho area a must check out.

Service here was awful! First,, we understand waits are sometimes expected. We waited over 30 minutes past our reservation. However, the issue was not the wait but the lack of apology or acknowledgment of us the entire time we waited. When we ordered our food we specified that someone in our party has a severe shellfish allergy. When our appetizer came, it was fried (which was not specified on the menu) so we asked about the allergy and it was discovered that it had been fried directly in a fryer with shellfish. Lastly, we waited an HOUR to get our check. We asked our waiter again and not only was there again no apology for the delay, we continued to wait as the entire staff were filming videos of the manager making pasta in the main dining room several times. Again, no apologies for the delay or issues with the service we experienced. We do not recommend this restaurant. Although the food was good, the service we experienced was awful.

Definitely not for your everyday dining. It is on the very expensive side... I had never ever paid $5 for a single glass of tap water which they didn't ever tried to refill and at $5a pop... they did me a favor. The food is exceptional and truth be told when they are already charging $67 for a10oz. Steak,i think there's no need to try and do the extra un necessary charges. The scorch out is generous enough to justify the price, the salad, Branzino and the meat are so good and of such good quality that makes it all worth it.. Even the self imposed 23%to on a 3 person table. Ve prepared to shell out $100 plus for a one and half plate dinner.

My friends recommended this place and I was excited to try it out. When we got there around 6 on a weekday after work, and it was pretty empty, but nearing the end of our dinner ~8, it was packed! When we sat down, we ordered a bottle of Chardonnay to share; they also brought us a small charcuterie platter and fried zucchini chips (which was kind of soggy) while we decided what to order. I got the Mixed Beets and Watermelon Salad to start and it was sweet and refreshing; my friends who ordered the meatballs highly recommend them. For the entre, I got the Salmone Alla Griglia which came out to be a lot bigger than I expected! I also got to try my friend's New York Strip which was ok (I wasn't a huge fan of the potatoes). Overall it was an good experience, however the one star deduction is for a wrong order - one of my friends ordered the Tagliatelle Bollognese but they brought her the Linguine Cacio e Pepe, which is quite different.

Odd interaction with the host at Il Mulino regarding the water. They added a surprising $9.50 for water on our bill. It's a lot, but that's not my issue. I'm open to paying for water. When being seated, my table was given the choice of "still" or "sparkling". We decided to play along, and not ask for "tap" water. We said "still", to which he replied (enthusiastically) "one bottle, coming up!". The water was fine: clear and flavorless. After seeing the $9.50 charge on the bill, I was curious what kind of water this was, since they didn't place any bottle on the table. I asked to "take the remainder of the bottle" with me, but the host refused. The bottles I saw waiters use were large, generic glass bottles with a wide opening. When I asked to know what brand it was, "so I could buy more on my own", he said it was from a propriety source. He chuckled and said "that's a million dollar question!". I finally asked, "your water costs a million dollars?" he basically just walked away. The couple seated next to us overheard this and said that even though they ordered tap water, they also got stuck with the $9.50. Anyway, food here is very good, but you might want to order something else other than water to drink.

Delicious dinner here during covid. Server was awesome and had a great attitude I never thought id be eating outside in December in NYC but wasnt terrible Tent was not heated but i didnt freeze at all Did the bone in filet and i highly recommend it

What a sad review this will be. The starters: I was told one was veal something and another burrata and tomatoes. Tasteless. Worse. The veal? I believe I had deli sliced roast beef. Honestly, pathetic at 26 bucks... The mains were the worst. Porterhouse of (at 136) crap and Brussel spouts of tastelessness. I mentioned this to the manager...he tried to give us a free desert. No matter. We left. As did everyone ... no one comes here. This place carries the big Il Mulino name but is a complete joke. Joke joke.

I'll start by saying we loveeee to eat but some of us have food intolerances. My dear friend and I came here yesterday for dinner and it was a total disaster! First it took a good 15 minutes plus before anyone came to take our drink order. Fine! It's a busy Saturday night. Once we were ready to order we had a couple of questions about the menu items to ensure we'd stay away from stuff we are food intolerant to. Our server was downright rude and acted like we were inconveniencing him with our questions. He said they do not offer ingredient substitutes for any dish then forget to mention other ingredients in the meal we chose! Suffice to say, I started to get sick half way through our meal. We couldn't finish our meal which is fine. But when he came to the table we told him we were done and shortly after requested the check. Upon getting the check, we noticed something was off and asked for an itemized bill. He brought us the itemized bill and we discovered that the server had not only overcharged us but also doubled our "suggested" gratuity. He did not apologize one but he was finally nicer and told us that next time we could request substitutes or ask for a special dish to be made to accommodate our food intolerances!!! I was shocked! This was the same man that had told us they do not do substitutes early in the night as we ordered! This was a disappointing experience all around mostly because I got sick because of the server's negligence and carelessness. This situation was completely avoidable! To sum it up, if you have any food allergies or intolerances be VERY careful here or skip this place all together! Always ask for an itemized bill if something seems off! Ughhh!!!!

The food was aaammaazing, the service was a plus and the atmosphere was perfect. It was a great way to celebrate our special occasion l.

This place in SoHo is an Italian classic. I was able to be seated without making any reservation although I had to wait about half an hour. Place is small with modern, simple decor and has Ernest Hemingway's quotes on the wall. Only con, waiters could've been more attentive. Had the following: -Complimentary bread and cheese sticks -Dozen oysters which were very small but sauce was delicious -Sautéed spinach -tomahawk steak (it was okay; had a bit too much fat for my taste but lemon squeezed on top made it taste better) Tiramisu-so delicious that I took one to go :) Overall a nice place but not worth a second visit.

Food is tasty but Buyer Beware. Though the prices for a pasta dish on the menu were about what you'd expect in a decent NYC cafe -- they were for half portions -- but they don't tell you that. And the specials can be exorbitant-- but they don't tell you that either. When we questioned the bill - which was outrageous for what we had ordered and received, the waiter informed us "this is kind of a pricey place. Customers know that and don't question the bills." When I asked to see a menu with the full prices -- he continued lecturing me. In the end, they reduced the bill -- but it all seemed so brazen and inhospitable -- especially when you're hosting a table of mothers on Mother's Day. I have eaten all around NYC, the US -- the world -- at all kinds of restaurants -- and have NEVER had an experience like this.

My first impression of this place was that, is very cute, small and very welcoming. We had reservations for a group of 7 at 9pm. We didn't get seat until 10pm. Yes, I was already VERY Hangry at this point, I was ready to go eat somewhere else. But luckily my friend bought a few rounds of drinks and made the wait a lot less irritating. The menu looked amazing, But the daily Specials sounded even better, so decided to try a few thing for myself. Needless to say it did not disappoint. The service was okay, for a small place and very busy, our server was good. Let's just say.... the wait was Well worth it. I'll be stopping by again soon.

We came in tonight for a reservation for 10 people at 8:30. My friend had called multiple times to confirm this reservation since it was a large party so they knew we were coming. We arrived 15 minutes early and were greeted with a laugh from Elvis when we mentioned our reservation. The place is small, and they obviously had no place reserved for us or even lined up for us. We were given no appropriate wait time, though we were buttered up with some free champagne and a jokingly "so the wait time is 45 minutes". Other reservations continued to come in and be sat within a timely manner while our whole party of 10 waited there smushed in between the opening door and the bar. We continued to ask him how much longer we would have to wait once 8:30 came and went and we were met with a laugh and a brushed shoulder-- no actual answer to what was happening/what we could expect. At 8:45 PM, after being in the restaurant for 30 mins with no clue of when we would be sat, we decided to leave. On the way out Elvis made sure to leave us with the comment, " what, a 15 minute wait and you're leaving?". I would recommend you take your business elsewhere-- at least to a place that has the decency to turn down large reservations if they cannot accommodate them. What a disappointment and a disgusting display of costumer service.

Visited Ll Mulino during January for outdoor dining. The restaurant has a tent for dining with heaters for each table and small cabin houses for more intimacy. The food was very good! My friend and I wanted to try a little of everything and our server Elvis was very knowledgeable of the menu and also made some suggestions. We were not rushed to enjoy our meal which was nice. Must try the rib eye or tomahawk steak it's cooked to perfection. I enjoyed dining here and will recommend to friends.

My number one spot for all business meetings and dates. Make reservations. Across from the iconic SoHo Grand Hotel between Canal and Grand St. on West Broadway. All major brands and luxury buildings are within strolling distance. Vibrant spot. A must. Elvis, the bartender, is simply a star and the best.

The calamari and sliced zucchini are excellent starters. Bistecca con Uovo is a good choice for brunch. Lastly, the full bar has an excellent variety of spirits and beer.

Service was amazing. Very friendly staff! We ordered octopus, grilled calamari, and crab to split. It was very nice of the restaurant to already split it up for us rather than have 3 different plates at a small table on top of our own plates. The octopus was so juicy. The crab was purely great. The grilled calamari was yummy too! They did the same with the oxtail parpadell pasta which by the way was delicious!!!! I also must say, the branzino was absolutely amazing. I was here about a year ago for restaurant week as well. I had the octopus, pasta, meatballs and steak. It was delicious then too and it was amazing last night! Unlike Il Mulino Uptown, I will be coming back again to Il Mulino Prime again :)

Why is one not like the rest? For decades there was Il Mulino, one Il Mulino on West 3rd Street. Then there seemed to be Il Mulinos everywhere, well at least a few. But one Il Mulino is different from the rest and that one is Il Mulino Prime. While Il Mulino Prime has the great pasta dishes and other Italian/Italian-American favorites, it is really a steakhouse. Their signature dishes are "prime" cuts of beef that have been dry aged for 30 days. Great steaks, great pastas, super service and in the heart of Soho.

The zuchinni slices and the bread were good starters. I got the salmon which was also really good. Service was average. We also visited during restaurant week a month or so ago. However, once we got there were were notified that they don't do restaurant week menus on Saturdays. This was not mentioned anywhere on their website, menu, or even on the restaurant week website and they didn't honor the deal. So, we didn't end up getting to try what we really came there for. All of us were super disappointed about the exorbitant prices especially because we came excited for a fun reasonably priced restaurant week tasting menu. In general, I'd say the food is good but overall overrated. You could find the same dishes and better service for less elsewhere.

Ladies and gentlemen: sit back, relax and get ready for the single best dining experience of your lives. Five. Stars. Strong. For this amazing nouveau steakhouse in SoHo. The il Mulino brand is one that evokes visions of grandeur and class. Prime is no exception. I arrived on a Monday, in the pouring rain during Restaurant Week. Total monsoon - you know the kind. I immediately expected to be turned away or pushed off the stairs with a broom. In the words of the Scissor Sisters, I looked like a "drowned, harassed, rat." Imagine my awe when I was welcomed in, offered a cloth napkin to dry myself and something to drink. Ummm, mom? No, it was not my mom! She was home in Queens! It was was actually the gracious professional staff including the manager, Antonio, and bartender, Elvis. I sat at the bar, super early for my dinner reservation. The Prosecco was perfectly chilled and refreshing. They have these DELICIOUS complimentary rosemary truffle potato chips of which I could eat no less than 300,000. I ate so many the bartender refilled my bucket. Embarrassing. On to the real food which was as beautifully plated as it was delicious (don't take my word for it - look at the photos). I highly recommend the octopus, the wild salmon and the swordfish. All of these were outstanding. For dessert, we had a ricotta pie and American coffee. We enjoyed a dessert moscato - which I usually would turn down but this was NOT a saccharine moscato - it was sweet but crisp. And it was pink! And bubbly! Adorbs! Even with the delicious food, lovely decor, impressive wine list and hot location, it was the professional, welcoming, wonderful service I would count as the highlight on this trip. I will definitely return and you should, too.

Ate there today with my brother-in-law, sister, niece and my father. Beautiful corner location on a lovely day in Manhattan. It is Restaurant Week and there was a condensed menu for the table with various options of steak, spaghetti and salmon as a main entree, appetizers and dessert for just $42 per person. The waiter was first class all the way and made us feel welcomed for first-timer's We all opted for this menu and two of us had the steak, two had the salmon and one the spaghetti. All were satisfied with their meals, service and overall decor and environment. There are only like 10 tables inside the place and we had a beautiful corner table that was comfortable and inviting. If you seek a great venue as well as food and wine, Il Mulino fits the bill handsomely. Highly recommend.

This is a small place but has good vibes. Is light and airy, open, lots of windows. Well air conditioned. Wait staff was friendly. The food is tasty! Appetizers was nothing special but they also shared focaccia, cheese, eggplant and salami s a freebie. That was unique and appreciated. The Steak was well cooked! Nice charred edges and medium ! Dessert was delicious! I had the chocolate cake and hubby had the tiramisu. We had a delightful time! Worth visiting and would come back!

Sunday late lunch is a perfect place to sit down and enjoy a meal, without any stress or urgency. Wghen you're doing so on a sunny Soho day, people watching is another leasurable activity to engage with. My friend and I ordered some Aperol Spritz, starter and pasta and then some more wine. Forgot about the details except that the food and the company and the scenery were superb. To be repeated!

Well let tell you if your walking past this place and your hungry make sure you stop it's well worth the wait and the money will not be disappointed!!! 10 out of 10 will return again !!

great italian good, some of the best in NYC. We came for resturant week and tried mostly everything on the menu, no complaints with any of the meals.Also added the wine pairing for only $30 which was so worth it

10/10, top notch experience at Il Mulino Prime. I'm not one to rave about Caprese salad but this one was one of the best & freshest I've had.. the buffalo mozzarella was as creamy as burata and primo tomatoes! Calamari and ricotta meatballs were also fantastic starters. There were several standout pastas on the special menu, including the mushroom ravioli and pappardelle. Ordered a Tomahawk steak to share for the table, which was again cooked to perfection. Truly fantastic Italian and steak dinner. Excellent service and cocktails. Enjoyed a long, intimate dinner with friends without feeling rushed out the door. Would highly recommend, especially for a celebratory meal.

I came here for lunch for restaurant week. There were 6 people in the place. I was in a party of 4. We ordered the appetizer and entree with wine pairings. The food was good. I would never pay the full prices here because the food isn't that good. The waiter was really nice and the service was great.

Woof. I don't often give bad reviews but they had a number of things going against them that night. We came for the restaurant week prix fixe menu and I know, I know, the caliber of food is never quite as good when it's restaurant week. Honestly, when you're churning out the same 3 dishes over and over again, you'd expect them to perfect them at some point. But boy, were they not even close. I was a extra agitated that day in general so I'll let you take this with a grain of salt. Our full party of 6 arrived on time and the restaurant was still pretty empty. When we checked, the host directed us to a table right at the entrance and we asked if we could instead take another open table closer to the back. Without giving it a thought, he said it was taken and that the tables were "exactly the same". Sure sure. Two of my friends spent the rest of the night getting the door slammed into their backs and herds of people running into them back and forth from the entrance and bathroom. Thanks. Ok now onto the real problem, the food. It was restaurant week so...you know...$38 for an app, entree and dessert. In our group, we each got either the tuna tartare or meatballs for our appetizer and the steak or salmon for our entree. - Tuna Tartare: It was fine. - Meatballs: Honestly, and unfortunately, the star of the meal. 3 meatballs came in an order and they were tender and flavorful; no complaints here. - Steak: Objectively "just OK" and "way too much fat." Both of my friend's steaks were undercooked but it too long for it to arrive, that they didn't bother sending it back. - Salmon: So overcooked and flavorless. The skin, was crispy, but not the good kind of crispy: it was the burned kind of crispy. I can yell they attempted to salvage any flavor from the salmon by oversaltin the skin specifically but it couldn't mask the dry, flavorless hunk of meat that sat below it. The broccoli rabe that came with it? Yea, over cooked and stringy. And I honestly couldn't even tell you what we got for dessert because it was so forgettable.

Excellent cocktails, Amazing rack of lamb, the mashed potatoes are fantastic as are the home made chips/fries. The buratta was tasty, great caprese, and friends love the 10oz filter. Aspargus was ok, loved the brussel sprouts with bacon. Food 8/10 Service 9/10 Drinks 9/10 (excellent old fashions and wine list, we had four bottle la thou on silver oak) Parking 4/10 Bar 6/10 Lighting 8/10 Bathrooms 7/10

One of my favorite restaurants of all time! I recommend this place to all family and friends. Overly friendly staff who treats you like family, outstanding customer service, great menu items, fantastic drink selection, and amazing ambiance. Recommendations: - bone in chicken Parmesan - pasta with ragu sauce - porterhouse! Wow! - all of the desserts they bring you - the complimentary charcuterie - 10/10 the truffle ravioli- it is unreal! Very generous amounts of truffle

Let's start with the good staff. Service: from the door of this cute, modern restaurant design is very welcoming and warm. The Bar tender smiled from behind the bar, the host, who greeted us was a jolly kind of guy. We had reservation but we happened to be there about 1/2 hr earlier. He gladly accommodated. He than brought in the drinks menu. NICE! Very interesting cocktails. Can't remember the name of the cocktail I had, but it was with grapefruit liquor and Prosecco.. it was lightly sweet, citrusy and of course bubbly due to the Prosecco. Delicious. We then ordered the appetizer as a main dish (the offered to make it larger) - Risotto Langostino and the Tomahawk. The risotto was presented in a very large plate which made it look unattractive, almost like a porridge over a flat dish, with few pieces of langostino on it and the rest of it on the side. It missed the creamy, rich flavor I know and love and no one offered to shave some Parmigiana over it. The Tomahawk - we asked it to be medium-rare it was made medium, but otherwise was tasty and tender! We ordered two glasses of Barolo to accompany the meal. The wine was great, really good and again, the host was wonderful in assisting us choosing the wine. For dessert we ordered tiramisu which was delicious, creamy, but not heavy or too sweet. An absolute winner. The host treated us for a dessert wine which was unexpected but wonderfully appreciated. Overall, we enjoyed the ambiance, the service, but we felt it was a bit overpriced ($250 before tip) for the food we had. Culinary wise, it wasn't the experience I wished for. So... if we come back, it is bc of the service! Maybe I'll give the chef another chance, maybe he had an "off day", we all do, sometimes.

The service is great and it's in a great spot. The meatballs were excellent. The steak was good however covered in basil. So if basil isn't your thing, don't get the steak.

Still killing it in Soho with all of the best Italian staples accompanied with steaks that are aged to perfection. A board of meat, cheeses and bread greet you when you're seated. Plenty of good pasta dishes to choose from but save space for more because the steaks available hold there own with the dedicated steakhouses in the city.

Overall: overpriced for what you get...this place is super expensive! Prices for everything including steak is higher than the average steakhouse (Peter Lugers, wolfgang's, keens, etc)...sides $15! The food was average, nothing special, decent quality and ok flavor...for the prices that they charge you would expect more! On the house....cheese, prosciutto and salami....nice gesture and good quality Appetizers Pappardelle Ravi: the pasta was a little overcooked, would have been better a little more al dente...sauce and flavor of the filet mignon was good...but not worth $24 for an appetizer Steak tar tar: decent flavor, average, not the worst but not the best either Entrees Veal parmigiana: good flavor on the sauce, and cheese was good quality. Huge portion as you can see from the picture but definitely not worth $46!!! Filet mignon on the bone, 12 ounce...$56 the steak didn't have a whole lot of flavor....the quality of the meat was good...but not enough to justify paying more for the filet than you would at another high regarded steakhouse
